  Hi every one, I am very much new to Drupal but am loving it to start with. I got struck at a point with respect to theaming. I have a region called 'footer-teaser' just above footer. Its width is 800px. its been split into 3 equal size columns. Each column has the following. Image of size 120x120 Some teaser text Link to 'read more' The design requirement is all the above should be editable by the admin from the admin interface. If its static i would have hardcoded this but since the requirement is dynamic, i am not aware of how to achieve this. I have customised page.tpl for other sections of the page except this. I am sure someone else would have faced this issue before and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction? Even better if an example is provided. Cheers RD

• Make C# source run as a script?

  I am doing a little scripting and i find some more power would be nice. Like the ability to keep trying to delete a file with a 1sec delay AND have it portable since i spent some time today translating a bat script to bash. I know i can use php or python but i VERY MUCH PREFER static/compile time checking. Is there a way to run C# code as a script? I am hoping i dont have to create a custom ext and write a app to dynamically compile and execute the script (i know have source to compile .js somewhere...). Does anyone know of a solution?

I have this pattern coming up all trough my testcode, and would love to be be able to simplify this using [TestCase], or any other way that reduces boilerplate code. To the best of my knowledge I'm not allowed to use a delegate as a [TestCase] argument, and I'm hoping people here have creative ideas on how to make the code below more terse.   I have the following Model: Entities: Product (Contains basic data for products: price, etc) Attribute (Contains data for all possible optional attributes) ProductAttribute (Contains data for optional attributes of a product, eg. Color, Model, Size). ProductAttribute is essentially a many to many relationship with payload (ProductId, AttributeID, Value) And this piece of code: private static void ListAttributes(Product p) { p.ProductAttributes.Load(); foreach (var att in p.ProductAttributes) { att.Attribute.load(); Console.WriteLine("\tAttribute Name:{0} - Value {1}", att.Attribute.Name, att.AttributeValue); } } This piece of code will fire a query for each time the att.Attribute.Load() method is called in the foreach loop, only so i can get display the name of the attribute. I would like to fetch the Attribute.Name together with the query that fetches all attribute values, i.e. join ProductAttribute and Attribute. Is there any way to achieve this within my method?

• GUID.TryParse() ?

  Obviously there is no public GUID.TryParse() in .NET CLR 2.0. So, I was looking into regular expressions [aka googling around to find one] and each time I found one there was a heated argument in the comments section about RegEx A doesn't work, use RegEx B. Then someone would write Regex C yadda yadda So anyway, What I decided to do was this, but I feel bad about it. public static bool IsGuid (string possibleGuid) { try { Guid gid = new Guid(possibleGuid); return true; } catch (Exception ex) { return false; } } Obviously I don't really like this since it's been drilled into me since day one to avoid throwing exceptions if you can defensibly code around it. Does anyonek now why there is no public Guid.TryParse() in the .NET Framework? Does anyone have a real Regular Expression that will work for all GUIDs?

• Exception wrapping and HTML pages

  Hi, We have a sharepoint 2007 project at work. The exception handling policy is to log to the Sharepoint logs. In this case, would the best approach be to call that method and then rethrow the exception higher up? Except if I rethrow it to be caught higher up, there is no other exception handling code so what would happen in this case? Also, if you are going to display a more friendly error to the user (which uses information in the exception object), then this would be a good use of exception wrapping. Would it be a good idea to make a custom aspx page and add these to customerrors, so that on init (not sure of the exact event), I can display exception info in the passed parameter on the page. However, a static html page can't do this so I don't see the point in wrapping exceptions (unless there is a page or alert which uses the exception object). So if a project uses html pages for errors, is there a point in wrapping exceptions? Thanks

  A scroll follow effect is when a part of the web design is always visible, even when the window is scrolled. There are animated and static versions of this. The animated is ok http://robertomartinez.info/cobra/index.html But I prefer the fixed version, however I have some bugs: http://robertomartinez.info/cobra/index_fixed.html -In Firefox, when you scroll the page, you will see a kind of vertical cut in the lorem ipsum text (below the HERE indication). This is caused by the image tiles of the map, then if you drag and drop the map, the cut will appear in another side. -In Safari, when you scroll the page, the div follows, but the map images stay in the same position. Do you have solutions for theses issues? Thanks.

In other words, I need to find the object in the ArrayList with the same FileName as the one I'm searching on. Html.Encode is not appropriate for my task because it encodes ' symbol, bypass : (that ruines object attributes declaration) and so on.
