  • UITableView which has sections as alphabets and various rows within each section

    - by lifemoves
    Hello I have a database in which I am inserting data by parsing an XML document. Populating the data using Navigation bar control view. I have various NSObjects defined in a class and have populated the data using NSMutableArray. Using UITableview I have populated the data. My question is : I have populated the data with the sections defined in it as alphabets so I have total of 26 sections. Each section has data in form of name. Now when I use cellforrowatIndexpath it does not give me the correct index for row and section together. My code is : (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } /* Index names as in AB ....Z */ NSString *strIndexNames = [arrCharacters objectAtIndex:indexPath.section]; /* object sections has names in each section */ NSArray *arrIndexedCategories = [objSections objectForKey:strIndexNames]; NSString *strName = [arrIndexedCategories objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] ; cell.textLabel.text = strName; cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:16]; return cell; } Any help whatsoever will be really helpful. • PHP Deleting a file 24 hours after being uploaded

    - by user3742063
    I've made a simple script that allows users to upload html files to a web directory on my server. However, I'd like it so each file is deleted after 24 hours of being on my server. 24 hours for each file, not 24 hours for the entire directory. Here is my code so far... Thank you for your help. :) <?php $target = "users/"; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['uploaded']['name']) ; $ok=1; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploaded']['tmp_name'], $target) && ($_FILES["uploaded"]["type"] == "html")) { echo "File: " . $_FILES["uploaded"]["name"] . "<br />"; echo "Type: " . $_FILES["uploaded"]["type"] . "<br />"; echo "Size: " . ($_FILES["uploaded"]["size"] / 1024) . " Kb<br />"; echo "Location: /users/" . $_FILES["uploaded"]["name"]; } else { echo "Sorry, " . $_FILES["uploaded"]["name"] . " is not a valid HTML document. Please try again."; unlink . $_FILES["uploaded"]["name"]; } ?>

  • JSON element detection

    - by user3614570
    I’ve created a string… {"atts": [{"name": "wedw"}, {"type": "---"}]} I pile a bunch of these together in an array based on user input and attach them to another string to complete a JSON object that tests out as valid. So I end up with a global array called fields with a bunch of these little snippets. So how do I change the name "weds" with a new name? I’ve tried... function changefieldname(pos){ var obj = JSON.parse(jsonstring); var oldname = obj.tracelog.fields[pos].atts[0]["name"]; var newname = document.getElementById("newlogfieldname"+pos).value; fields[pos].replace(oldname, newname); //writejson(); } And a bunch of variations. I know everything is checking out correct interms of the variables pos, oldname, and newname. I also know that fields[pos] returns the string in the array I want to correct but it’s not happy. I also tried converting fields[pos] to a string, but the replace function doesn't work on it. I’m sure there is a good reason.

    Simple search engine issues.. I'm creating a simple search engine but i'm not able to figure out how to go about it. So here's what I have tried. I need to get the results based on first/last name.. JSFiddle : http://jsfiddle.net/WSPbP/ JS $(document).ready(function() { $('#sbutn').click(function() { $v = $('#searchbox').val(); console.log($('#myConnections >div').find("div:contains("+$v+")")); }); }); HTML <div id="searchelement"> <div class="search"><input type="text" name="search" id="searchbox" value="" /></div> <div class="searchbutton" id="sbutn"><button type="button">Search</button></div> </div> </br> <div id="myConnections"> <div class="left" style="width:100px; height:100px;"> <img style="width:70px; height:70px;" src="picture1.jpg" alt=""><br> person1_xyz </div> <div class="left" style="width:100px; height:100px;"> <img style="width:70px; height:70px;" src="picture2.jpg" alt=""><br> person2 abc </div> </div>

  • jQuery variable and object caching

    - by niksy
    This is something that has been bugging me some time and every time I found myself using different solution for this. So, I have link in my document which on click creates new element with some ID. <a href="#" id="test-link">Link</a> For the purpose of easier reusing, I would like to store that new elements ID in a variable which is jQuery object var test = $('#test'); On click I append that new element on body, new element is DIV $('body').append('<div id="test"/>'); And here goes the main "problem" - if I test this new elements length with test.length it first returns 0 and later 1. But, when I test it with $('#test').length it returns 1 from the start. I suppose it is some caching mechanism and I was wondering is there better, all-around solution which will allow to store elements in variables in the start for later repurpose and in the same time work with dynamically created elements. Live, delegate, something else? What I do sometimes is create string and add it to jQuery object but I think this is just avoiding the real issue. Also, using .find() inside another jQuery object. Thanks in advance.

  • JQuery ajax success help

    - by Jason
    Hi all, I am implementing a "Quick delete" function into a page I am creating. The way it works is like this: 1: You click the "delete" button in the table row for the record that you want to delete. 2: The page sends a request to the ajax page and return a successfully message of "yes" or a failure message of "no". My issue is that if I get a successful message of "yes" I want to hide the row for that record. I am having issue "finding" the row using JQuery. Here is my jquery code: $(document).ready(function(){ $(".pane .btn-delete").click(function(){ var element = $(this); var del_id = element.attr("id"); var dataString = 'action=del&cid=' + del_id; if(confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this content block?")) { $("#msgbox").addClass('ajaxmsg').text('Checking permissions....').fadeIn(1000); $.ajax({ type: "get", url: "ajax/admArticles_ajax.php", data: dataString, success: function(data){ switch(data) { case "yes": $("#msgbox").addClass('ajaxmsg').text('Deleting content block....').fadeIn(1000); $(this).parents(".pane").animate({ backgroundColor: "#fbc7c7" }, "fast") .animate({ opacity: "hide" }, "slow") break case "no": $("#msgbox").removeClass().addClass('error').text('You do not have the correct permissions to delete this content....').fadeIn(1000); break default: }; } }); } return false; }); }); This is the lines of code I am using to hide the row however it is not working because I don't think $(this).parents(".pane") finds the element. $(this).parents(".pane").animate({ backgroundColor: "#fbc7c7" }, "fast") .animate({ opacity: "hide" }, "slow") Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

  • Submitting form with Ajax

    - by Sidetracking
    So I'm completely lost on how to submit a form with Ajax. I'm fairly new to Javascript and hopefully I'm not in over my head. When I click submit on my form, nothing happens on my page, not in my SQL database where the info should be stored (double checked process form too). Here's the code if anyone's willing to help Javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $('#form').submit(function() { $.ajax({ url: "../process.php", type: "post", data: $(this).serialize() }); }); } HTML: <form name="contact" method="post" action="" id="form"> <span id="input"> <input type="text" name="first" maxlength="50" size="30" title="First Name" class="textbox"> <input type="text" name="last" maxlength="80" size="30" title="Last Name" class="textbox"> <input type="text" name="email" maxlength="80" size="30" title="Email" class="textbox"> <textarea name="request" maxlength="1000" cols="25" rows="6" title="Request"></textarea> </span> <input type="submit" value="Submit" class="submit"> </form>

  • Dropdown menu not showing when using position: absolute;

    - by Xiy
    I've just turned my website into a responsive layout and along the way I've somehow managed to make my dropdown menus not work. When hovering over 'Drop-downs' they don't display unless I'm using position: relative. They worked before using position: absolute - but it seems they only work with position relative now. When using relative it uses the width which messes up the navigation bar. Using relative: http://d.pr/i/tp5R Using absolute: http://d.pr/i/j7r1 CSS for my sub-menu div.left_first_header ul.sub-menu { width: 125px; top: 14px; z-index: 2; height: 100%; position: absolute; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 0px 4px 4px; -moz-border-radius: 0px 0px 4px 4px; background: url(images/drop_down_bg.jpg); padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; background-repeat: repeat; } jQuery for the drop down functionality jQuery(document).ready(function ($) { jQuery("ul.dropdown li").hover(function() { $('ul:first',this).css('visibility', 'visible'); }, function() { jQuery(this).removeClass("hover"); jQuery('ul:first',this).css('visibility', 'hidden'); }); }); My website http://wpvault.com/kahlam/ Considering it's 4am I've probably made a really stupid simple mistake. I apologise if I've missed anything.

  • jQuery: Is it possible to assign a DOM element to a variable for later use?

    - by Braxo
    I'm working on a project that is using jQuery, which I'm much more familiar with Mootools. I'll start with my code first. var customNamespace = { status: 'closed', popup: $('#popup'), showPopup: function() { // ... } } $(document).ready(function(){ console.log($('#popup')); console.log(customNamespace.popup); console.log($(customNamespace.popup)); $('#popup').fadeIn('slow'); (customNamespace.popup).fadeIn('slow'); $(customNamespace.popup).fadeIn('slow'); }); My goal is to not have jQuery traverse the DOM everytime I want to do something with the #popup div, so I wanted to save it to a variable to use it throughout my script. When the page loads, the console prints out the object 3 times as I would expect, so I assumed that for each method, the fadeIn would just work. But it doesn't, only $('#popup').fadeIn('slow'); Actually fades in the div. Even if I remove my namespace hash, and just save the object to a global variable, and do a var globalVariable = $('#popup'); . . . globalVariable.fadeIn('slow'); Also does not work as I thought it would. Can jQuery do what I am trying to do?

I can browse to http://mysite.com/getstates ok but when I call this function using ajax it is not passing the value of "test" which is "1" to $_POST["test"]. I am new to Drupal so I am positive that I miss something here. I thought I need a new set of eyes.

  • how to filter selected objects then hide objects not selected.

    - by ussteele
    following up from yesterday... This portion of the code does work. $(document).ready(function(){ $('#listMenu a').click(function (selected) { var getPage = $(this).attr('id'); var getName = $(this).attr('name'); //console.log(getPage); //console.log(getName); $(function() { $("#" + getName ).show(); var getColor = $('#' + getName ).css('background-color'); $('#header' ).css('background', getColor); $('#slideshow' ).css('background', getColor); $('span').css('background', getColor); $('#menuContainer').css('background', getColor); }); $('li.listMenu ul').hide(); }); }); I am able to get what I wanted selected; based on vars getPage and getName, now I need to hide what is not selected. I have tried this: $(function() { var notSelected = $('div').filter(selected).attr('id', 'name'); $(this).hide(); console.log(notSelected); }); placed just above: $('li.listMenu ul').hide(); but it's not correct, remember I am really a newbie. what I see on screen is the new selected items on top of what should be hidden. again any help is appreciated. -sjs

  • Eclipc java,writting a program [closed]

    - by ghassar
    I have an important exercise for that i found in the internet please i need help in using eclipc java thanks i have to design, implement, test and document a Java program (a set of classes) for one of the following problem specifications: Problem 1 – Jubilee Estate Agency Property Management System A local Estate Agent would like a prototype system to keep track of properties that are offered for sale. The Estate Agent sells domestic and commercial properties. You will need to define classes that represent the Estate Agency System. You should design your system and the classes that you will need before starting coding. Your system must have a graphical user interface and be designed and developed using the object-oriented principles of the MVC architecture design pattern i.e. the user interface class must be separate from the other classes. The initial basic requirements for the system are as follows: • Include a list of domestic properties for sale that include details of: address, description, selling price, and number of rooms • Include a list of commercial properties for sale that include details of: address, description, selling price, and area in square metres • Enable the properties that are for sale to be viewed on the screen • Allow the customer to select one or more properties to be placed on a ‘viewing list’ so that the properties can be visited in person • Display on the screen the viewing list that shows the details of the properties chosen • Provide a basic search facility to find properties that are for sale in a particular price band and display the results • Enable a property to be marked as sold

  • Get real height of div plus css generated content (if possible)

    - by qp2wd
    I'm trying to use javascript to give three divs a negative top position equal to their height. I've got it working, sort of (thanks to help from here!) but instead of calculating the height of each div and calculating the top position accordingly, each div is being assigned a negative top position of -367px: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { //Get height of footer popup var pHeight = $('footer ul li > ul').outerHeight(); //Calculate new top position based on footer popup height var nHeight = pHeight + "px"; $('footer ul li > ul').css({ //Change top position to equal height of footer popup 'top' : "-" + nHeight }); }); </script> I've tried this using .height, .outerheight, and even .getheight which someone mentioned on the Jquery documentation for .height. I also tried using an each statement, though it didn't seem to work; I may have written it incorrectly. In addition (if possible), I'd like the negative position to take into account the height of a content being generated using the css :after psuedo-property, though I can always manually add that in to the calculation if javascript has no way to access that. EDIT: Added a test page link. It's the bottom divs I'm trying to target with JS, but if anyone has an idea regarding how to fix the problem with the top divs I'd be much obliged as well. http://www.qualityprinters2.com/test/float-tab-test.html

  • How to get jquery to append output immediately after each ajax call in a loop

    - by david_nash
    I'd like to append to an element and have it update immediately. console.log() shows the data as expected but append() does nothing until the for loop has finished and then writes it all at once. index.html: ... <body> <p>Page loaded.</p> <p>Data:</p> <div id="Data"></div> </body> test.js: $(document).ready(function() { for( var i=0; i<5; i++ ) { $.ajax({ async: false, url: 'server.php', success: function(r) { console.log(r); //this works $('#Data').append(r); //this happens all at once } }); } }); server.php: <?php sleep(1); echo time()."<br />"; ?> The page doesn't even render until after the for loop is complete. Shouldn't it at least render the HTML first before running the javascript?

Am very new with the concept of building a plugin. i've tried to create one which doesnt output my unordered list json file structure { "Categories": [ { "cat_id":"1", "name":"Main Menu1", "sub_categories":[ { "cat_id":"10", "name":" Sub Menu11", "sub_level_one_link":"http:\/\/one.com" }, my js file //create plugin jQuery.fn.emrMenu= function (options) { myoptions = jQuery.extend ({ url: "error" }, options); if (myoptions.url=="error") { alert("Error:No data recieved"); return false; } $(this).html (myoptions.url); return this.each (function () { //alert(myoptions.url+this.id); $.getJSON(myoptions.url, function(data) { $.each(data.Categories, function(i, category) { alert("test1"); //get all sub menu items in list indexes var submenudata=''; $.each(category.sub_categories, function(i, sub_categories) { submenudata += "<li><a href='"+sub_categories.sub_level_one_link+"' <span>"+sub_categories.name+"</span></a></li>"; }); var menudata ="<li id='"+category.cat_id+"' class='has-sub '><a href='#'><span>"+category.name+"</span></a><ul>"+submenudata+"</ul></li>"; //stringify unordered list and bind to div var menu="<ul>"+menudata+"</ul>"; // $(menu).appendTo("#"this.id); }); }); //alert (this.id); }); } and am calling the plugin: <script> $(document).ready(function() { $('#menu_n').emrMenu ({ url: "menu_data.json"}); }); </script> I'am pretty confused at this point any help is greatly appreciated cheers!
