  • Using a variable in jQuery to perform a function...

    - by DevlshOne
    Can someone tell me what's wrong with this code? It doesn't seem to be recognizing the '#del[' + cid + ']' selector, at all. Which is the exact name of the ID in my PHP code. $(function() { var cid = '<?=$row['c_id'];?>'; $('#del[' + cid + ']').click(function() { alert('clicked!'); var oldqty = <?=$row['qty'];?>; var qtyID = "'" + '#qty' + cid + "'"; alert(qtyID); if ($(qtyID).is(':checked')) { $(this).(function() { $(this).val(0); }); }; if($(qtyID).not(':checked')) { $(this).(function() { $(this).val(0); }); }; }); }); Here's the PHP code that implement $row['c_id']: echo "<input class=\"number aln_center\" type=\"text\" name=\"qty[" . $row['c_id'] . "]\" id=\"qty" . $row['c_id'] . "\" value=\"" . $row['qty'] . "\" size=\"3\" onchange=\"return validateChgMLQty('qty" . $row['c_id'] . "'," . $row['qty'] . ");\" />\n"; echo "<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"telco[" , $row['c_id'] . "]\" id=\"telco" . $row['c_id'] . "\" value=\"" . $row['btelco'] . "\" />\n"; echo "<br />Delete\n"; echo "<input type=\"checkbox\" name=\"del[" . $row['c_id'] . "]\" id=\"del" . $row['c_id'] . "\" />\n"; I'm trying to get the value in the input statement to change to "0" if the "Delete" checkbox is clicked and then return back to it's original contents when unchecked. It never even gets to the first alert box, so it has nothing to do with qtyID and when viewing source, the 'var cid' line is populated with the correct integer passed from PHP variable $row['c_id'].

  • Clarification on recaptcha

    - by luckytaxi
    Um so I was in for a little bit of a surprise tonight. I spent a good 20 mins trying to figure out why I was able to submit a form knowing that what I entered into the recaptcha field was invalid. Is it true that you don't need to input the exact words it displays? If it shows me two words and I misspelled one of the words, I still pass validation? Same goes if "hello world" and I input "hell man" it still works.

  • JavaScript recursion does not work properly

    - by misha-moroshko
    Hi, Could anyone say why the following recursive function does not work for me ? It should collect recursively all radio buttons in a given element. But, it does not found any for some reason !? Thanks !! <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1255"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function AllInputs(radioElement) { this.radioInputs = ((arguments.length == 1) ? • Splitting a test to a set of smaller tests

    - by mkorpela
    I want to be able to split a big test to smaller tests so that when the smaller tests pass they imply that the big test would also pass (so there is no reason to run the original big test). I want to do this because smaller tests usually take less time, less effort and are less fragile. I would like to know if there are test design patterns or verification tools that can help me to achieve this test splitting in a robust way. I fear that the connection between the smaller tests and the original test is lost when someone changes something in the set of smaller tests. Another fear is that the set of smaller tests doesn't really cover the big test. An example of what I am aiming at: //Class under test class A { public void setB(B b){ this.b = b; } public Output process(Input i){ return b.process(doMyProcessing(i)); } private InputFromA doMyProcessing(Input i){ .. } .. } //Another class under test class B { public Output process(InputFromA i){ .. } .. } //The Big Test @Test public void theBigTest(){ A systemUnderTest = createSystemUnderTest(); // <-- expect that this is expensive Input i = createInput(); Output o = systemUnderTest.process(i); // <-- .. or expect that this is expensive assertEquals(o, expectedOutput()); } //The splitted tests @PartlyDefines("theBigTest") // <-- so something like this should come from the tool.. @Test public void smallerTest1(){ // this method is a bit too long but its just an example.. Input i = createInput(); InputFromA x = expectedInputFromA(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow Output expected = expectedOutput(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow B b = mock(B.class); when(b.process(x)).thenReturn(expected); A classUnderTest = createInstanceOfClassA(); classUnderTest.setB(b); Output o = classUnderTest.process(i); assertEquals(o, expected); verify(b).process(x); verifyNoMoreInteractions(b); } @PartlyDefines("theBigTest") // <-- so something like this should come from the tool.. @Test public void smallerTest2(){ InputFromA x = expectedInputFromA(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow Output expected = expectedOutput(); // this should be the same in both tests and it should be ensured somehow B classUnderTest = createInstanceOfClassB(); Output o = classUnderTest.process(x); assertEquals(o, expected); }

  • Is it possible for double-escaping to cause harm to the DB?

    - by waiwai933
    If I accidentally double escape a string, can the DB be harmed? For the purposes of this question, let's say I'm not using parametrized queries For example, let's say I get the following input: bob's bike And I escape that: bob\'s bike But my code is horrible, and escapes it again: bob\\\'s bike Now, if I insert that into a DB, the value in the DB will be bob\'s bike Which, while is not what I want, won't harm the DB. Is it possible for any input that's double escaped to do something malicious to the DB assuming that I take all other necessary security precautions?

  • How to bind a WPF CustomControl to a ListBox

    - by VivyG
    I've just started to learn WPF this week so please accept my apologies if I am being stupid or missing fundamental points! Iam trying to build a very simple Contact browser. I have a Collection of Contact objects that displayed in a ListBox control which shows the FullName of the Contact and to the right I have a customControl called BasicContactCard. This is the XAML for the ContacWindow that displays the ListBox: <DockPanel Width="auto" Height="auto" Margin="8 8 8 8"> <Border Height="56" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Top" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="8" DockPanel.Dock="Top" Background="Beige"> <TextBox Height="32" Margin="23,5,135,5" Text="Search for contact here" FontStyle="Italic" Foreground="#FFAD9595" FontSize="14" BorderBrush="LightGray"/> </Border> <ListBox x:Name="contactList" DockPanel.Dock="Left" Width="192" Height="auto" Margin="5 4 0 8" /> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="0.125*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <local:BasicContactCard Margin="8 8 8 8" /> <Button Grid.Row="1" x:Name="exit" Content="Exit" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="50" Height="25" Click="exit_Click" /> </Grid> </DockPanel> and this is the XAML for the CustomControl: <DockPanel Width="auto " Height="auto" Margin="8,8,8,8"> <Grid Width="auto" Height="auto" DockPanel.Dock="Top"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock x:Name="companyField" Grid.Row="0" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Company"/> <TextBlock x:Name="contactField" Grid.Row="1" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Contact"/> <TextBlock x:Name="phoneField" Grid.Row="2" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Phone"/> <TextBlock x:Name="emailField" Grid.Row="3" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="email"/> </Grid> </DockPanel> The problem I have is how do I bind the individual elements of the CustomControl to the object behind the SelectedItem in the ListBox?

  • PHP: POST Request to ASP.NET website results in 500 server error when html tags included

    - by RyanJD
    My situation: I need to send text to an ASP.NET web service using POST. The entire page there is a form: <form name="aspnetForm" method="post" action="Discussion.aspx?classroom=lG39il1cotOAGJwiNvmQlIPfwmjikD%2fAHLhjjGInAZQ%3d&amp;Page=Posts&amp;ID=794239&amp;Sort=&amp;SortOrder=" id="aspnetForm"> So, I figured if I sent a POST request to this form with the correct inputs it would work. And, to an extent, it has. The form inputs are as follows: <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTTARGET" id="__EVENTTARGET" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTARGUMENT" id="__EVENTARGUMENT" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/wEPDw..." /> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION" value="/wEWYQLrt..." /> And a bunch of other inputs. The code I have used is as follows: // grab form info $inputs = extract_form_inputs($discussion['body']); $inputs['__EVENTTARGET'] = 'ctl00$cphMain$ctl01$btnSubmit'; $inputs['ctl00$cphMain$ctl01$tbNickname'] = "Your Instructor"; $inputs['ctl00$cphMain$ctl01$reMessage'] = $message; // submit form $r = request_send($discussion['url'], $inputs); extract_form_inputs does exactly that. $discussion['body'] is the content of the page. $discussion['url'] is the URL of the page. request_send has two arguments: ($url, $post_array). It performs rawurlencode on each element of the array and joins them up as keypairs, in the same way as http_build_query. The request is url encoded properly, sent to the correct page, and works fine until I insert html tags. I have checked - the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols ('<' and '') are url-encoded properly. However, the server responds with a 500 error. It accepts any other text. Has anyone else come across this sort of problem? Is there some setting on an ASP.NET server that denies html? I can't see this being the case - there is a rich text editor on the website that I am sending requests to. This text editor performs the same request as I am, only I am doing it remotely. The rich text editor sends html to the form - I have checked that, too, using javascript. Note: I do not have the power to modify the ASP.NET server.

    - by user239831
    hey guys, i can't seem to get it working. i have a div.post with #comments and a #respond form underneath it. the div.post contains the #comments and the #respond form. i simply want to float the sidebar to the right of the entire div.post and i cannot seem to get it work. here is an example. any idea how to solve that - its probably quite simple. :) <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>layout</title> <style type="text/css"> body { margin:0; padding:0; } #main { width:100%; background:#cfcfcf; } .inner { margin: 0 auto; padding: 96px 72px 0; width: 1068px; border-color: #000; border-style: solid; border-width: 0 1px; color: #3C3C3C; } .post { width: 705px; background:#999; } #comments, #respond { width: 705px; background:#999; } #sidebar { width:338px; background:#777; margin-left:730px; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="main"> <div class="inner"> <div id="post" class="post"> <h2>Lorem Ipsum Test Page</h2> <div class="entry"> <p>Lorem ipsum sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua.   • Unable to capture standard output of process using Boost.Process

    - by Chris Kaminski
    Currently am using Boost.Process from the Boost sandbox, and am having issues getting it to capture my standard output properly; wondering if someone can give me a second pair of eyeballs into what I might be doing wrong. I'm trying to take thumbnails out of RAW camera images using DCRAW (latest version), and capture them for conversion to QT QImage's. The process launch function: namespace bf = ::boost::filesystem; namespace bp = ::boost::process; QImage DCRawInterface::convertRawImage(string path) { // commandline: dcraw -e -c <srcfile> -> piped to stdout. if ( bf::exists( path ) ) { std::string exec = "bin\\dcraw.exe"; std::vector<std::string> args; args.push_back("-v"); args.push_back("-c"); args.push_back("-e"); args.push_back(path); bp::context ctx; ctx.stdout_behavior = bp::capture_stream(); bp::child c = bp::launch(exec, args, ctx); bp::pistream &is = c.get_stdout(); ofstream output("C:\\temp\\testcfk.jpg"); streamcopy(is, output); } return (NULL); } inline void streamcopy(std::istream& input, std::ostream& out) { char buffer[4096]; int i = 0; while (!input.eof() ) { memset(buffer, 0, sizeof(buffer)); int bytes = input.readsome(buffer, sizeof buffer); out.write(buffer, bytes); i++; } } Invoking the converter: DCRawInterface DcRaw; DcRaw.convertRawImage("test/CFK_2439.NEF"); The goal is to simply verify that I can copy the input stream to an output file. Currently, if I comment out the following line: args.push_back("-c"); then the thumbnail is written by DCRAW to the source directory with a name of CFK_2439.thumb.jpg, which proves to me that the process is getting invoked with the right arguments. What's not happening is connecting to the output pipe properly. FWIW: I'm performing this test on Windows XP under Eclipse 3.5/Latest MingW (GCC 4.4).

  • Cannot change borderColor of TD

    - by Tadeus Prastowo
    Using JS to set the background color of a TD is fine. But, setting the border color is problematic in FF 3.0.18 although IE 6 doesn't experience this. FF is problematic in that it requires the TD element to have an attribute style initialized to border-style: solid. Without that, setting border color of a TD won't work. Is this known bug? How do I set the border color without having to set style attribute as well as the initialization value? I know another trick of setting the class attribute instead of setting the border color directly. Is this an indication that somehow TD hates having its border color set dynamically? Is this known as well? The problematic code is below (the goal is find out why setting the border color of simple truth 1 does not work while simple truth 3 works when I employ the trick described above): <html> <head> <title>Quirks FF 3.0.18</title> <style type="text/css"> table { border-collapse: collapse; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> function changeBgColor() { document.getElementById('simple').style.backgroundColor='yellow'; document.getElementById('simple2').style.backgroundColor='yellow'; document.getElementById('simple3').style.backgroundColor='yellow'; } function quirk(id) { var x = document.getElementById(id); x.style.border = '2px solid red'; } </script> </head> <body> <input type="button" onclick="changeBgColor()" value="Change background color"/> <input type="button" onclick="quirk('simple')" value="Change border color 1"/> <input type="button" onclick="quirk('simple2')" value="Change border color 2"/> <input type="button" onclick="quirk('simple3')" value="Change border color 3"/> <table> <tr><td id="simple">Simple truth 1</td></tr> </table> <table> <tr><td><span id="simple2">Simple truth 2</span></td></tr> <table> <tr><td id="simple3" style="border-style: solid">Simple truth 3</td></tr> </table> </body> </html>

  • Z-Index and javascript for rollover

    I have a container (div) with a background image. In this div there is a menu - a horizontal list. What I need is to insert an image onMouseOver, positioning it absolutely, and showing it behind the text (of course!) AND on top of the div's background image. I also use jQuery, but I think this doesn't matter. The problem can be viewed online. Go to http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp?filename=trycss_zindex and paste the following text <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> img { top: 0; left: 0; position:absolute; z-index:-1; } #main { color: red; margin: 30px; padding: 20px; width: 700px; min-height: 400px; z-index: -2; background-image: url("http://www.google.com/logos/mother10-hp.gif"); background-repeat: no-repeat; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="main"> <h1>Z-Index question:</h1> <img src="w3css.gif" width="100" height="140" /> <p>How can we place the green pic between the text and the div#main?</p> <p>I need the green gif to appear</p> <ol> <li>On top of #main's background image</li> <li>Behind the text</li> </ol> </div> </body> </html>

The form source: <form name="aspnetForm" method="post" action="list.aspx" language="javascript" onkeypress="javascript:return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, '_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_cmdSearch')" id="aspnetForm"> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTTARGET" id="__EVENTTARGET" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTARGUMENT" id="__EVENTARGUMENT" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__LASTFOCUS" id="__LASTFOCUS" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/..." /> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var theForm = document.forms['aspnetForm']; if (!theForm) { theForm = document.aspnetForm; } function __doPostBack(eventTarget, eventArgument) { if (!theForm.onsubmit || (theForm.onsubmit() != false)) { theForm.__EVENTTARGET.value = eventTarget; theForm.__EVENTARGUMENT.value = eventArgument; theForm.submit(); } } // --> </script> <script language="javascript"> <!-- var _linkpostbackhit = 0; function _linkedClicked(id, key, str, a, b) { if (!b || !_linkpostbackhit) { if (!a) { __doPostBack(key, id); _linkpostbackhit = 1; } else { if (window.confirm(str)) { __doPostBack(key, id); _linkpostbackhit = 1; } } } return void(0); } // --> </script> ... <a href="JavaScript:_linkedClicked('123456','_ctl0:ContentPlaceHolder1:Link', '',0,1);">123456</a> ... </form> I tried to add the 2 variables: page.forms.first['__EVENTTARGET'] = '_ctl0:ContentPlaceHolder1:Link' page.forms.first['__EVENTARUGMENT'] = '123456' and submit the form: page.forms.first.click_button(page.forms.first.buttons.first) The result returned only (re)show the current list of links as if I have not clicked on any of the links. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Software to Tune/Calibrate Properties for Heuristic Algorithms

    - by Karussell
    Today I read that there is a software called WinCalibra (scroll a bit down) which can take a text file with properties as input. This program can then optimize the input properties based on the output values of your algorithm. See this paper or the user documentation for more information (see link above; sadly doc is a zipped exe). Do you know other software which can do the same which runs under Linux? (preferable Open Source)

  • How to get jQuery draggable elements scroll with mb.imageNavigator

    - by bulltorious
    I am using jQuery mb.imageNavigator (1.8) from http://pupunzi.open-lab.com/mb-jquery-components/mb-imagenavigator/ to implements a Risk type game adjucation system. Using the imageNavigator plugin I am able to scroll around a large game map of the world. My issue is when I declare some elements as draggable and drag them onto the map image, their location does not stay relative to where in the picture I put them. They just stay fixed on the screen no matter where I scroll. Does anyone know how to make the the draggable elements scroll with the image? Matteo posts about "you can add an additional content layer that overlay image and moves with it" and posts an example, but I can't make it work. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> ` <head> <script type="text/jscript" src="lib/jquery/jquery-1.3.2.js"> </script> <script type="text/jscript" src="lib/jquery/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"> </script> <script type="text/jscript" src="lib/utilities/mbImgNav.min.js_0.js"> </script> <script type="text/jscript" src="lib/utilities/start.js"> </script> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>New Web Project</title> </head> <body> <div id="AdamsAshTray" style="float:right; background-color:red; z-index:999"> test test test </div> <div id="navArea"> <div imageUrl="someimage" navPosition="BR" navWidth="100" style="display:none;" class="imagesContainer"> <span class="title">zuccheriera</span> <div class="description"> <STRONG>description1</STRONG> </div> </div> </div> </body> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#navArea").imageNavigator({ areaWidth:1820, areaHeight:1000, draggerStyle: "1px dotted red", navOpacity: .8 }) $("#AdamsAshTray").draggable({ grid: [20,20] }); })`

  • FindBugs: "may fail to close stream" - is this valid in case of InputStream?

    - by thSoft
    In my Java code, I start a new process, then obtain its input stream to read it: BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream())); FindBugs reports an error here: may fail to close stream Pattern id: OS_OPEN_STREAM, type: OS, category: BAD_PRACTICE Must I close the InputStream of another process? And what's more, according to its Javadoc, InputStream#close() does nothing. So is this a false positive, or should I really close the input stream of the process when I'm done?
