I installed unbuntu on virtualbox. The problem I have is that the settings don't get saved. Everytime I restart the server, it takes me to the main menu. (language settings etc)
I'm writing an assembly language program using lc3 and when I run trap x23 (IN) the message "input a character" comes up. I want it to come up saying
Please enter an integer between 1 and 15:
but it ends up like this:
Please enter an integer between 1 and 15:
input a character:
Help please
Anybody has experience with Magento community version and Appach OFBiz? Could you please share your feeling with me? I am trying to find a free ecommerce platform to start with. OFBiz is using Java. Don't know what's the language Magento is using. thanks,
When looking at F#, Ocaml and other functional language code examples I notice that the let keyword is used very often.
Why do you need it? Why were the languages designed to have it?
Why can't you just leave it out? e.g: let x=4 becomes x=4
I had limited success myself. I was able to hype a few persons about Scala.
But in fact none of them made a meaningful effort to try to switch (usually from Java).
I would like to read both success and failure stories here.
Both long tries and short ones.
My goal is to find ways of presenting Scala to another person, friend, co-worker (not an audience) that will make them want to use this great language.
i need some help!, i am planning to develop such LBS Mobile Application which find nearest things based on gps data from mobile.
1.what are the best free and (preferably) open source technologies for development?.
2.What programming language to use for development of such application?.
3.what are the points to be considered?
I need the general overview of the requirements for planning, I was interested in having a general understanding of the data, tools, and frameworks required to accomplish the job.
The .NET framework provides a few handy general-use delegates for common tasks, such as Predicate<T> and EventHandler<T>.
Is there a built-in delegate for the equivalent of CompareTo()?
The signature might be something like this:
delegate int Comparison<T>(T x, T y);
This is to implement sorting in such a way that I can provide a lambda expression for the actual sort routine (ListView.ListViewItemSorter, specifically), so any other approaches welcome.
What's a good time picker for jquery or standalone js? I would like something like google uses in their calendar where it has a drop down of common times in 15min intervals or lets you manually type in a time and it validates it.
Hey.
I have those partitions (in Windows) for example:
Hard Disk 1 - Partition C, Partition D
Hard Disk 2 - Partition E
Is there any way in a program language to know if for example partition C and partition D are in one physical hard disk without WMI?
I don't want to use WMI because it's slow - for this example, it took for me 0.5 seconds. I need it to be fast.
Thank you.
I need to transform one document formated in xml into JSON and vice versa.
I belive this is a common requirement and perhaps there's still one library that does that work.
Know any?
I'm working in AutoCAD using the ObjectARX .Net API. Is there a way to either create text using lines/curves/polylines, or explode an existing text object into lines/ect? Prefereable I would like to be able to generate linework based on an exsiting AutoCAD text style.
Edit: I was able to find the source for the TxtExp command here . However its in AutoCADs own Lisp language, and I can't make heads or tails of it.
Does python compile down to some byte code or is it rendered on the fly each time like php/asp?
From my readings I read it has its own byte code format, so i figured it was like java/.net where it compiles into a intermediate language/byte code.
so it is more effecient in that respect that php right?
I have seen this sample written in Ruby code, how i can simulate it in C language?
Open3.popen3(command) do |stdin, stdout, stderr|
@stop_stdin = stdin
while !stdout.eof do
output = stdout.read(1024 * 100)
list_pipes.each do |out|
out.print output
end
end
end
Hi,
I was going over some pages from WikiVS, that I quote from:
because lambdas in Python are restricted to expressions and cannot contain statements
I would like to know what would be a good example (or more) where this restriction would be, preferably compared to the Ruby language.
Thank you for your answers, comments and feedback!
i try to write this code to process Arabic language by python
import codecs
file = codecs.open("C:\Python27\CCA_raw_utf8.txt","r","utf-8")
text= file.read()
####################################
print "\n "," --------------------------------------------"
text=text[1:]
words=text.split()
for w in words:
if w == unicode ("?????","utf-8"):
print w
but it doesn't and take error " if w == unicode ("?????","utf-8"):
UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xc7 in position 0: invalid continuation byte "
why program gives this result and how we can correct that??
Is there anything the Dalvik VM supports (in terms of bytecode) which is not used currently because the .class files don't have it?
As an example, if people would write their own Source-to-DX converter for their functional language XYZ, would they be able to implement e. g. full tail calls although the .class file does support tail calls only under certain circumstances?
Traits have been one of the biggest additions for PHP 5.4. I know the synatax and understand the idea behind traits, like horizontal code re-usage for common stuff like logging, security, caching etc.
However, I still dont know yet how I would make use of traits in my projects.
Are there any open source projects that already use traits? Any good articles/reading material on how to structure architectures using traits?
Hi,
I'm using this css, but it puts an image in the center. Any way to left or right align an icon using an input type="button" html button, so that the text and the image fit on the button nicely?
background: url('/common/assets/images/icons/16x16/add.png');background-position:center;background-repeat:no-repeat;
Are there any good reasons to modify your projects build output path from its default of "bin\debug"? Is there any benefit to pointing all your projects within a solution to a common build output location?
Hi,
I have a question about how to store the assembly language in memory,when I compile the C-code in assembly, and run by "step", I can see the address of each instruction, but is there a way to change the start address of the code in the memory?
Second question is, can I break the assembly code into two?
I am curious about how the machine store the assembly code.
BTW, I am working on a MACBOOK Pro, duo core.
Thank you.

Hi, there.
The question is how to make the similar thing like symlink in windows like in *nix. It's really hard to write whole path to the file in console (even using [tab], it's not the way if you need to change language). Adding everything in PATH is tiring too. It'll be great to make a symlink running one command.
Actually I'm looking for console app.
i used Zend Studio for eclipse, and now i have a problem with encoding.
when i try to write text in foreign language, it doesn't understand the font. but in browser it shows normally.
i've set then default encoding to UTF-8, but it doesn't work.
could you help me.
Thanks

Language Integrated Query. Now I know that the acronyms are. I have seen C# examples, but can't really understand them. Can I use them with PHP? Can I use it along with ORM? Has any PHP MVC framework has this?
