I need to transform one document formated in xml into JSON and vice versa.
I belive this is a common requirement and perhaps there's still one library that does that work.
Know any?
Are there any guidelines when quoting estimates for projects/tasks involving TDD?
For example, when compared to normal development of a task taking 1 day to complete, how much more should a TDD driven task take? 50% more time or 70% more time? Are there any statistics available, assuming the developer is well versed with the language and the test framework?
Hi all, I'm using GemBox for my project now. Currently my module requires only excel which is why I've tried and really like using this application. Talk to my PM about the possibility of purchasing it but they wanted something similar that might work for word documents as well as just excel so that others might use it as it is more common for word documents to be generated.
Hi,
I often cross this kind of code transformation (or even mathematical transformation)
(python example, but applies to any language)
I've go a function
def f(x):
return x
I use it into another one.
def g(x):
return f(x)*f(x)
print g(2)
leads to 4
But I want to remove the functional dependency, and I change the function g into
def g(f):
return f*f
print g( f(2) )
leads to 4 too
How do you call this kind of transformation, locally turning a function into a scalar ?
I am making a multilingual Django website. I want the site to check from which country the user is accessing the website, and according to that decide which language to use.
What would be a good tool to use for that?
I have seen this sample written in Ruby code, how i can simulate it in C language?
Open3.popen3(command) do |stdin, stdout, stderr|
@stop_stdin = stdin
while !stdout.eof do
output = stdout.read(1024 * 100)
list_pipes.each do |out|
out.print output
end
end
end
Hi everyone,
Will there be any measurable performance difference when passing data as values instead of as reference in PHP?
It seems like few people are aware of that variables can be passed as values instead of references. Is this common sense or not?
Every project invariably needs some type of reporting functionality. From a foreach loop in your language of choice to a full blow BI platform.
To get the job done what tools, widgets, platforms has the group used with success, frustration and failure?
Currently I've finish studying the book name "beginning javascript 3rd edition",so i just wonder what should be my next step in order to strengthen myself on using and manipulating this language?Besides,how to improve myself in programming in javascript??Is it by thinking something cool myself,and start coding it??Or googling around the internet to find some task and question offered??Besides,is there any book that teaches the correct method of coding??
Thanks you
I have the following questions concerning the differences between the four options:
What is the main difference between the four options?
Which of the above support int64_t or long long without suffix LL. I want a data type of the range 2^63 - 1
If your answer to my second question is not C(gcc 4.3.2) , whether the code I write in C(gcc 4.3.2) for C language will be valid in rest of the three options or do I have to modify something, then what will be those modifications.
Can anyone recommend a language, library, framework or book which focuses on GUI programming from the perspective of a web developer?
I have experience in web development, for example HTML/AJAX/PHP/MySQL among similar technologies. However, I have never programmed my own back-end, or any kind of standalone program. Does anyone have experience making this transition, and what would I best study to help make the leap from the browser to creating programs with GUIs (primarily for Windows)?
Hi
There are several PHP or js code formatting libs out there -- does anyone know if similar libs exist in Java?
Ie., Given a string of code, return a formatted string with syntax colouring etc.
It'd be ideal if it auto detected the language, but I might be pushing my luck there...
What exceptions can be thrown from a WCF client?
I usually catch CommunicationFaultedException, CommunicationException, TimoutException and some other but from time to time new ones occur, e.g. most recently QuotaExceededException
There is no common base to catch (except Exception) so does anyone have a complete list?
Hi,
I seem to not be able to find implementation from the common Ajax libraries (JQuery, mootools, prototypejs...) that would allow the operation of parsing the window.location.href for request parameter. I would expect something like:
$P{"param1"} == "param1_value"
Am I missing something?
p.s. The web does contains implementation examples for such operations
Is there anything the Dalvik VM supports (in terms of bytecode) which is not used currently because the .class files don't have it?
As an example, if people would write their own Source-to-DX converter for their functional language XYZ, would they be able to implement e. g. full tail calls although the .class file does support tail calls only under certain circumstances?
I have a list of items sorted alphabetically:
list = [a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j]
I'm able to output the list in an html table horizonally like so:
| a , b , c , d |
| e , f , g , h |
| i , j , , |
What's the algorithm to create the table vertically like this:
| a , d , g , j |
| b , e , h , |
| c , f , i , |
I'm using python, but your answer can be in any language or even pseudocode.
Thanks
Hey Guys,
How would I save JSON outputed by an URL to a file?
e.g from the Twitter search API (this http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=hi)
Language isn't important.
Thanks!
edit // How would I then append further updates to EOF?
If you have ever been fired from a job, did you notice anything different about the behavior of your peers or upper management just before your termination? What are some common signs to look for among your coworkers and project manager(s) that would indicate your position is severely at risk?
EDIT: My instincts were right, and I opted to resign rather than face termination. I guess when you have that "gut feeling" that something is about to happen, it's a strong sign that you should be heading for the exit...
I think this has to do with permissions. The authentication for the web app is "Windows Integrated Authentication". I need this because the app depends on the window log in name.
Here's the error.
Error Type:
error '8002801c'
Error accessing the OLE registry.
/iisHelp/common/500-100.asp, line 154
Thanks in advance for any tips.
I need to determin the byte size of a file.
The coding language is C++ and the code should work with Linux, windows and any other operating system. This implies using standard C or C++ functions/classes.
This trivial need has apparently no trivial solution.
I need to resize images and resample them so they don't end up all jagged (I think that's called aliasing).
I found some code (sorry, lost the link) that does this in pure VB6 code but it's a bit slow (2-5 seconds) and I'm displaying pictures in real time so I need something faster.
I seem to recall seeing some examples of doing this with the GDI+ library. An example in VB6 would be ideal, but I can probably work with a simple example with Windows API calls in another language.
Hello
Where can I find examples of code, written in "Unified Parallel C"?
I also interested in normative documents about this language (standards, reference manuals, online-accessible books and courses). What extensions were added to C to get UPC?
Is this dialect alive or dead?
I have defined some common Activities in a library project and want to reuse these activity in my working project.
I declared my library project as Android library, use the fully-qualified name of the Activities and declare them in the AndroidManifest.xml of the new project. However, I get 'Unable to find explicit activity class' error when launching the application.
Any other configurations shall I do in order to start the Activities?
What is the common way of dealing with the development.sqlite3 files with VCS (in particular, git)?
If I commit this file to the VCS, will it be merged with another developer's copy?
Or should each developer run the db:migrate task each time a new migration file is created?
I am trying to identify the point in time where code completion (autocomplete/intellisense/whatever) was first introduced in IDEs and would appreciate any pointers.
By code completion here I mean a feature within the editor that offers methods or suggestions based on the code that was already typed, and I am interested in programming language related completions (not word processor style completion).
