  • Telerik RadWindow does not fire ClientCallBackFunction after a ajax an __DoPostBack

    HI, I have a Telerik radwindow that allows our users to upload files. When the user first opens the radwindow and sees the upload fields, they can happily select a file and upload it. The window then returns the id of the uploaded file back to the parent page via the ClientCallBackFunction. This function then passes in the ID to a javascript function that calls __DoPostback so that we can populate the list of uploaded files. First time around it works a treat. However all subsequent times it fails to call ClientCallBackFunction unless i refresh the entire page. I also note that any other control on the parent page to uses an ajax postback also stops the ClientCallBackFunction begin called, even on the first time. any ideas? Thanks Richard

  • Attempting to update multiple partial views from a single Ajax.ActionLink

    I have a a partial view which contains other partial views. I am trying to the main partial view ( "MainPartialView" ) from an Ajax.ActionLink in a partial view contained by the main partial view ( "DetailsView" ). Everything appears to be called just fine and I can step through and it executes all of the code on the pages. However, after that is all done it throws this error in a popup box in visual studio: htmlfile: Unknown runtime error This error puts the break point in the MicrosoftAjax.js file, Line 5, Col 83,632, Ch 83632. Any thoughts?   • How to intercept raw soap request/response (data) from WCF client

    This question seems to be pretty close to what I am looking for - I was able to setup tracing and I am looking at the log entries for my calls to the service. However I need to see the raw soap request with the data I am sending to the service and I see no way of doing that from the SvcTraceViewer (only log entries are shown but no data sent to the service) - am I just missing configuration?   • IIS7 Mixed Mode Authentication

    We're getting ready to start migrating some of our IIS6 sites to IIS7, and the application currently uses Forms Authentication. We have started getting some requests from various sites to use the Windows Authentication for the users. While this is easy enough to implement (and I've shown internally that there is no issue with the app, as expected) the question then is how to continue to keep Forms authentication for when Integrated Windows doesn't work. I've seen several walkthroughs on how to have it configured on IIS6, and I could do the same thing on IIS7, but then I have to turn on Classic Mode processing. Any solution should also be back portable to IIS6, if possible, to keep the build tree simple. So what are my options on this? Do I setup the app with Integrated Windows Authentication in IIS7, Forms Auth in the web.config, and redirect 401 errors to an "error page" allowing them to login using forms, then back to the regular app? The case when Forms is likely to be needed is going to be reserved for Contract workers, our support staff, and if someone needs to access it on their site from their Extranet. So primarily it's for our staff to login to check functionality and confirm bug reports. I suggested we just maintain that for our support staff to work, we need a Windows login that will always be live, and then we'll just enforce local responsibility on who can login to the site, but I'm told that we would do better to have Forms Authentication. Any thoughts? I can post some of the links of the articles I've already read through if that would help the forum better narrow my needs. Many thanks. tl;dr: How to do mixed mode authentication (forms, windows) in IIS7 without changing to classic pipeline and still be able to use the build in IIS6 if possible.

    I know this topic has been asked, but the posts are all out of date, or not functional on IE8. In brief we basically want to do the excel style locking of column headers in a GridView. I have seen a couple of solutions one jquery+ css(setExpression) which doesn't work in IE8. And another that uses ajax extensions, yet again doesn't work in IE8.   • How do I use a relative path in XDocument.Load?

    I have an XML file named PageData.xml in my App_Data folder. I want to populate an XDocument with this file using XDocument.Load. If I supply the full physical path it works, i.e.: XDocument vXDoc = XDocument.Load("/Work/Project/Web/100413 Dev/App_Data/PageData.xml"); ...where "Work" is a folder on my C: drive. If I try a relative path like this, though, I get a DirectoryNotFoundException: XDocument vXDoc = XDocument.Load("AppData/PageData.xml"); "Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DevServer\10.0\AppData\PageData.xml'." This is obviously wrong, but there must be an easy way to set the correct relative path? What am I overlooking? Your help is appreciated.

However to some users this gets displayed as http://://www.foo.com/Show.aspx?pageid=10&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Now i read that the AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 gets appended as in my web.config since I have my web.config as <sessionState cookieless="AutoDetect"/> whereas it should be <sessionState cookieless="UseCookies"/> What I wanted to know is that is there an issue doing this change. Is there any other way to just have the url show up as http://www.foo.com/Show.aspx?pageid=10

    This question is related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2158425/why-cant-i-publish-mvc-project I've replaced System.Web.MVC with its source version. After some debugging I pinpointed my problem to line 50 of WebFormViewEngine.cs: protected override bool FileExists(ControllerContext controllerContext, string virtualPath) { try { object viewInstance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(virtualPath, typeof(object)); return viewInstance != null; } For reasons unknown to me, BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath tries to find masterpage.aspx.vb file which does not exist because MVC application is published. What makes BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath behave this way, and how to debug? I've tried this with new blank MVC project. After publishing it and stopping at above location, BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath creates an instance without trying to compile anything.

But should model.Reason_ID. That's a big problem, becouse ExpressionHelper.GetExpressionText(expr) returns empty string. What a strange magic is that? How can I get rid of it?

    I have an HTML report, with each print page contained by a <div class="page">. The page class is defined as width: 180mm; height: 250mm; page-break-after: always; background-position: centre top; background-image: url(Images/MainBanner.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 30mm; After making a few changes to my report content, when I call abcPDF to convert the report to PDF, suddenly I'm getting a blank page inserted after every real report page. I don't want to roll back the changes I've just made to remove this problem, so I'm hoping someone may know why the extra pages are being inserted.

Although it works, when I run the site in Internet Explorer, a security warning comes up similar to this: The current webpage is trying to open a site in your Trusted sites list. Current site: http://www.facebook.com Trusted site: http://localhost" My Facebook code involves these two: http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/FeatureLoader.js.php http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/XdCommReceiver.js I tried changing them to HTTPS: https://ssl.connect... but the errors still appear. None of my pages use SSL. I've also tried turning facebook-logo='false' but still no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this? Although it's not show-stopping, it doesn't give a good impression to users who may be feel it insecure. Thanks

    I have just added a Telerik menu to my MVC application. I also have many views that render Telerik grids on them. Problem: My menu has one item with sub items. When I hover over that menu item, the dropdown slides beneath the Telerik Grid, which hides most of the sub items and makes it impossible to click them. Any idea how to make the menu dropdown slide over the grid instead of under it?

  • Javascript or CSS hover not working in Safari and Chrome

    I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird! Correct function: The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery. The problem: In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process.     Hello there, I have been thinking about the optimal way to create an XML file using data from a Dataset AND according to the rules of an XML schema. I've been searching around for a bit, and I failed to find a way in which I only take the data from the Dataset and put it inside a XML tags, with the tags being defined by an already-existing schema. So it might go like this: 1- Create Dataset and fill its rows with data. 2- Create an XML according to an XML schema rules. 3- Fill said XML file with data from Dataset such that data is taken from the Dataset while structure of the XML file is taken from the XML schema.

  • ConfirmButtonExtender using ModalPopupExtender fails in UpdatePanel after partial postback?

    Hello, We're trying to add a more fancy looking confirm messages than the regular JavaScript-confirm message to our delete-buttons in a list of comments on our site. To accomplish this we're trying to use the ConfirmButtonExtender together with a ModalPopupExtender. The comments are displayed using a ListView inside a UpdatePanel so that the paging of the ListView doesn't reload the entire page. Using the ConfirmButtonExtender works fine the first time the list is loaded but if we for instance go to the second page of comments using the pager, the ConfirmButtonExtender doesn't work anymore. The extender shows up when clicking Delete but when I click OK the page makes a full reload without triggering the delete event. Has anyone experienced the same problem and found a solution to it? The sites may run for days/weeks before this occurs, or it might happen twice within the hour. I have not been able to pinpoint this to any specific request/function in our system. In this case it points to itextsharp, but it randomly points to any assembly referenced by our application, both internal and external. All code: FullTrust Success Our application is running on three servers, two of them are on Server 2008 Web x64 while the third is running Server 2008 R2 Web x64, all have .NET 3.5 installed, no .NET 4.0 installations. The problem only occurs on the first two that are running 2008 non R2. Running depends.exe on all three servers gives equal results for the nonR2 servers: My DLL is shown as x86 (compiled as AnyCPU, running in x64 w3wp), all other modules show as x64. Missing IESHIMS.DLL and LINKINFO.DLL - both of these seem to be red herrings according to Google. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions: aspnet_regiis -ga [user] Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846816/iis7-failed-to-grant-minimum-permission-requests By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Temp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however. Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. Any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome! Also, I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008? Thanks!

    Hi All, I have a js object structured like: object.property1 = "some string"; object.property2 = "some string"; object.property3.property1 = "some string"; object.property3.property2 = "some string"; object.property3.property2 = "some string"; i'm using JSON.stringify(object) to pass this with ajax request. When i try to deserialize this using JavaScriptSerializer.Deserialize as a Dictionary i get the following error: No parameterless constructor defined for type of 'System.String'. This exact same process is working for regular object with non "collection" properties.. thanks for any help!

  • Small performance test on a web service

    Hi, I'm trying to develop a small application that test how many requests per second can my service support but I think I'm doing something wrong. The service is in an early development stage, but I'd like to have this test handy in order to check in time to time I'm not doing something that decrease the performance. The problem is that I cannot get the web server or the database server go to the 100% of CPU. I'm using three different computers, in one is the web server (WinSrv Standard 2008 x64 IIS7), in other the database (Win 2K - SQL Server 2005) and the last is my computer (Win7 x64 ultimate), where I'll run the test. The computers are connected through a 100 ethernet switch. The request POST is 9 bytes and the response will be 842 bytes. Let's say I get a X requests per second, if I run the console application two times at the same moment, I get X/2 request per second in each one... but still the web server is on 30% of CPU, the database server on 25%... I've tried to remove the thread.sleep in the loop, but it doesn't make a big difference. I'd like to put the machines to the maximun, to check how may requests per second they can provide. I guessed that I could do it in this way... but apparently I'm missing something here... What is the problem? Kind regards.
