Hello, I have FreeBSD server (7.2) which has a lot of interfaces (vlans, count near 100). I want to configure DHCP server with separate pools for each interface. What program should I use? Thanks for any advices or config examples.
I have been trying to find a way to use the hostname assigned in DHCP to rename a PC after we image it. I found some sample code from Microsoft's web site for C++, but I don't program so it is all greek to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,
I just got Windows XP Mode on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit machine. I notice that the Windows XP Security Center notes that I don't have any virus protection. However, I'm running AVG Free on Windows 7. Do I need to have some sort of anti-virus program installed on Windows XP Mode?
Thanks in advance.
I want to save a program's output (stdout) to a file but still be able to see the output on the screen in realtime.

I am using XP Mode within Windows 7, which creates virtual OS, but semi-intergrated into Window 7. Do I need to install an antivirus program within XP Mode as well, or will the antivirus that I am running on Windows 7 take care of XP mode?
I run Debian 5 + Gnome and it seems that after I made certain updates with aptitude, whenever I run a query in Navicat ( sql program that runs on WINE ), as the results are being presented linux goes into the command line and the GUI dies and it restarts and it asks me to login again ( all my programs crash ).
Has anyone experienced this before? Or does anyone have a clue as to how I could go about debugging this? I suspect it's some issue with Gnome and WINE, but I'm not sure.
I use the rdesktop client to administer Windows machines from Linux.
Anyone know a program that will allow me to put these remote desktop sessions all under one window as tabs?
I have the IP addresses of some computers on my network. Is there any command line tool like PsExec, which can take the IP Address as input and find out the username of the currently logged in user? I can install stuff on my workstation, but not the others. I can also run Metasploit / NMap / any other such program on my workstation.
I have 2 windows vista computers on a lan, can i set them up with a program so that they replicate the data written in one partition to another and the other way around. basically replicating data across 2 partitions whenever each is modified. Making that data is available on the network when either of the computers are turned on, when both are, data is synchronized. Is this posible?
How to use complex AJAX applications with a lot of menus and with X.509 authentications in non-GUI mode with simple browsers?
For example, I can login to Webmoney from console using links/lynx/link2 (but not w3m), entering captcha (using aaxine) and do operations there, but can't login not using X.509 certificate (even if I try to separate SSL part using "socat tcp-l:... openssl:...:443,cert=extracted_from_firefox.pem")
Is there some program that behaves like fully-fledged browser (build DOM/execute JS/Support all features except of actually displaying things), but without GUI and dependencies on GUI libraries?
I have an installation of Outlook 2003 that won't print emails as of this morning. It can print calendars, and every other program can print fine.
Outlook won't print the emails to any printer, not even a PDF creator. As soon as you hit "Print" nothing happens, there's no notification that the print job was sent or anything. The print server never receives a request to print from the computer.
What I'm looking for (and not sure if it's possible) is that we have 16 mapped network drives that are mapped when any user logs on, what I would like is to cut this down to just one visible drive yet leaving the other ones still usable to certain programs. I would just un-map them, however one of our constantly used programs writes to almost all of the drive letters so they need to be mapped for just that program, however they do not need to be visible to the user. Is this possible?

What I seek is advice, or experience of, actually USING a Windows 7 Restore Point in ANGER.
I have created the restore points, can see them, and read the instructions. I also realize it won't harm my documents, but are there any pit-falls?
Actually the machine is a quiet, under-used with no recent program additions, so I don't anticipate any complications, nevertheless gotchas and tips are appreciated.
I want to split a very large audio file at certain points. At certain points a radio announcer comes on and says something like "deux radio" and it always sounds exactly the same (it's a recorded clip). So how can I find that bit of repeated audio through out the entire mp3? It would be nice if I could split at that point, but even if it spits out the times, I can split it with another program.
I'm wondering if there is any way to execute a program, run some command or anything else when closing the laptop's lid.
My question aims to be generic, both for Windows and Linux. Something useful should be locking the laptop when closing the lid (Win + L in windows), or running expensive processes such as antivirus analysis etc. without doing it manually before closing the lid.

I recently created an Intranet application for my company, but to work properly it must execute an ActiveX control to locally run a program.
However, the only way I found for this to work was using Internet Explorer, and setting Intranet security to a personalized "very low" configuration for being able to execute ActiveX scripts without asking.
I think there is a way to automatically configure IE's settings for all users from Active Directory, but I can't find it. Any help?
I have restored the Exchange databases and logs with netbackup, but need to do a soft recovery. This MS article says to use the following command:
eseutil /r r00 /i /d"c:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Recovery Storage Group"
I restored the log files to a particular folder, how do I specify where the log files are?
The passwords cached for Network shares on other computers and applications like MSN Live, MS Outlook, Sharepoint portal, Outlook Webmail, etc are lost when I reboot my computer, which runs on Vista.
I always check the Remember password checkbox in applications/login dialogs where ever prompted.
I cannot imagine of a third party program that may clean up this on system restart/shutdown.
Any idea, as to what is going wrong?
Safari uses a lot of RAM. Especially when you add Safari's use to WebProcess's use: it comes to about 1.5 GB of memory (for me, anyway). How can I limit the amount of RAM Safari and WebProcess use?
I know a similar question was asked last summer, but two of those answers have to do with the program in question (Dropbox) and the other answer encourages use of Terminal, which I find terribly confusing. Are there any other methods?
We have created thousands of pdf files that are printed as a label on a special label printer. Printing these labels is ok, but some of the label paper are quarter turned and the pdf are printed incorrectly. There is a possibility to rotate the page before printing. But is it possible to rotate a pdf file and save it again as a pdf file? And there are thousands of pdf files, is it also possible to do this is a batch program?
