• Is there a way in Linux to update the user/group properties without having to login again?

  After I edit /etc/group and I add a user to groups it didn't belong to, the user will not be able to use it's newly acquired privileges unless it starts a new session. Is there a command to refresh user/group properties in an ongoing session?

  Hello everybody, I have to solve an exercise using awk. Basically I need to retrieve from 'ps aux' command the total of memory usage for each user and format like this: User Total%Mem user1 3.4% user2 1.5% and so on. The problem I can't seem to solve is: how do I know how many users are logged in? And how can I make a different sum for each one of them? Thank you :)

  Hi, I'm getting the following error when trying to compile OpenSSL 1.0, 64 bit: ias -o tmp32\ia64cpuid.obj tmp32\ia64cpuid.asm 'ias' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'ias' : return code '0x1' Stop. Does someone know what can I do? (I do it on Windows 2008 x64 OS) Thanks.

ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress I searched the web, and found that the solution is to execute an alter database open command, but what I dont understand is where should i execute if, since I cant connect to the database. • ctags doesn't undestand -e option (no exuberant tags option)

  When I type ctags -e it returns an error saying it doesn't know that command line option. I thought it should know about exuberant tags because etags works on cli.   I have a Ubuntu Server. From the terminal, how should I install JDK? In this guide it says to use this command: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk But on Suns website, it says JDK includes the JRE, so why the JRE in the line above? Is it good to prefix table names with [dbo] I use to use this syntax: SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand("SELECT [Field1], [Field2] FROM [dbo].[TableName]", connection); May be there is a better way? Now I come to the point where I want to be able to shutdown the program, for example for applying a patch.
