    I am trying to execute the following Query select distinct pincode as Pincode,CAST(Date_val as DATE) as Date, SUM(cast(megh_38 as int)) as 'Postage Realized in Cash', SUM(cast(megh_39 as int)) as 'MO Commission', from dbo.arrow_dtp_upg group by pincode,Date_Val but I am getting an error "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '82.25' to data type int." Am I using a wrong data type?

  • Not allowing characters after Space. Mysql Insert With PHP

    Ok so I think this is easy but I dont know (I'm a novice to PHP and MySQL). I have a select that is getting data from a table in the database. I am simply taking whatever options the user selects and putting it into a separate table with a php mysql insert statement. But I am having a problem. When I hit submit, everything is submitted properly except for any select options that have spaces don't submit after the first space. For example if the option was COMPUTER REPAIR, all that would get sent is COMPUTER. I will post code if needed, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!     In a MySQL query I am using the timediff/time_to_sec functions to calculate the total minutes between two date-times. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 = 120 minutes What I would like to do is exclude any breaks that occur during the selected time range. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 - (break 08:55:00 to 09:10:00) = 105 minutes Is there a good method to do this without resorting to a long list of nested IF statements?

  • Dump to CSV/Postgres memory

    I have a large table (300 million lines) that I would like to dump to a csv - I need to do some processing that cannot be done with SQL. Right now I am using Squirrel as a client, and it does not apparently deal very well with large datasets - at least as far as I can tell from my own (limited) experience. If I run the query on the actual host, will it use less memory? Thanks for any help.

    I'm performing a SQL query through hibernate, which looks like: SELECT thi FROM track_history_items thi JOIN artists art ON thi.artist_id = art.id WHERE thi.type = "TrackBroadcast" GROUP BY art.name ORDER thi.createdAt DESC but I'm getting the message that 'Node to traverse cannot be null!'. Anyone know what could be causing this? --EDIT-- I'm pretty sure that this problem is being caused by the possibility of artist_id to be null. However, I can't prevent this, so can I just skip the rows track_history_item rows which have a null artist_id?

    Take this simple query: SELECT DATE_FORMAT(someDate, '%y-%m-%d') as formattedDay FROM someTable GROUP BY formatterDay This will select rows from a table with only 1 row per date. How do I ensure that the row selected per date is the earliest for that date, without doing an ordered subquery in the FROM? Cheers

    I am getting passed comma seperated values to a stored procedure in oracle. I want to treat these values as a table so that I can use them in a query like: select * from tabl_a where column_b in (<csv values passed in>) What is the best way to do this in 11g? Right now we are looping through these one by one and inserting them into a gtt which I think is ineffecient. Any pointers?

    I have recently installed Team Explorer on one of my machines that has Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installed. But know whenever I click a work item or trying to open a team query I get the following error: Could not load type 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.WorkItemTypeDeniedOrNotExistException' from assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' I even repaired the installation of Team Explorer 2008 but it does not solve my problem. Does anybody know how can I get rid of this error? Thanks.

    Hello all, I've recently been tasked with finishing a PHP/MySQL web app when the developer quit last week. I'm no MySQL expert, so I apologize if this is an intensely simple question. I've searched SO for the better part of two days trying to find a relatively easy solution to my problem, which is as follows. Problem in a Nutshell: I have a MySQL table full of start and end datetime (GMT -5) & UNIX Timestamp values covering durations of irregular length and need to break/split/divide them into more-regular time chunks (5 minutes). I'm not after a count of row entries per time chunk/bucket/period, if that makes any sense. Data Example: started, ended, started_UNIX, ended_UNIX 2010-10-25 15:12:33, 2010-10-25 15:47:09, 1288033953, 1288036029 What I'm hoping to get: 2010-10-25 15:12:33, 2010-10-25 15:15:00, 1288033953, 1288037700 2010-10-25 15:15:00, 2010-10-25 15:20:00, 1288037700, 1288038000 2010-10-25 15:20:00, 2010-10-25 15:25:00, 1288038000, 1288038300 2010-10-25 15:25:00, 2010-10-25 15:30:00, 1288038300, 1288038600 2010-10-25 15:30:00, 2010-10-25 15:35:00, 1288038600, 1288038900 2010-10-25 15:35:00, 2010-10-25 15:40:00, 1288038900, 1288039200 2010-10-25 15:40:00, 2010-10-25 15:45:00, 1288039200, 1288039500 2010-10-25 15:45:00, 2010-10-25 15:47:09, 1288039500, 1288039629 If you're interested, here's the quick & dirty on the app and why I need the data: App overview: The application receives very simple POST requests generated by a basic sensor device when its input pins go to ground, which submits an INSERT query to the database where MySQL records a timestamp (as started). When the input pins return from a grounded state, the device submits a different POST request, which causes the PHP app to submit an UPDATE query, where a modification time timestamp is inserted (as ended). My employer recently changed the periodic reporting unit of measure from Seconds "On" Per Day to Seconds "On" Per 5 Minute Interval. I had formulated what I thought would be a workable solution, but when I looked at it on paper, it looked like Rube Goldberg's nightmare constructed in MySQL, so that was out. Any suggestions as to how to break these spans into 5 minute blocks? Keeping it all in MySQL would be my preference, though I'll take any suggestions. Thank you for any suggestions you may have.     Does anyone knows if removing the field names from an INSERT query results in some performance improvements? I mean is this: INSERT INTO table1 VALUES (value1, value2, ...) faster for DB to be accomplished rather than doing this: INSERT INTO table1 (field1, field2, ...) VALUES (value1, value2, ...) ? I know it might be probably a meaningless performance difference, but just to know.
