  • iPhone RSS Reader -- parseXML won't Load some XML feeds

    I am using the SIMPLE RSS reading example found at http://theappleblog.com/2008/08/04/tutorial-build-a-simple-rss-reader-for-iphone/ It uses parseXML to load the RSS feeds. Here is the problem I am having. For the following RSS feed example, I am having trouble getting it to load the feed. Comes up with an error that it cannot connect. However on my Mac RSS Reader it works fine, so I know the link is good. Any ideas on why it cannot load this particular feed but it can load others fine? http://www.okstate.com/rss.dbml?db_oem_id=200&media=news Thanks.

  • Track each URL and Parameters sent from Form

    Simple question really for anyone who's been through this: I have a form that I'm placing on a site. This form submits some parameters to a site which then sends some parameters using "GET" to another site, which then opens the third site. Now the first 2 sites pass so quickly that I can not see what parameters were passed using the URL. I can do a manual check using source code but its too long and complex. I just need a simple tool or hint or firefox addon on how to track every single URL (wven if it has a META redirect) so I can read parameters being sent via the form. Thanks

    Funny, how sometimes the simple things bite me in the behind. I can bind a DataGrid nicely to a Collection of some arbitrary class, using a DataGridTextColumn like this: <DataGridTextColumn Header="Name" Binding="{Binding Name}"/> Now I want to bind a DataGrid to a simple Collection. So since there is no property "Name" or something like that to bind to, how do I write the binding: <DataGridTextColumn Header="Name" Binding="{Binding ???}"/> String has no Property "Value" or something like that. And if I just write {Binding } I'll end up with a one-way-binding, unable to write changes back to the Collection. Thinking about it, I think it is not possible to bind to a collection, so I do need to wrap my string into a class? Or is there a way?

  • What object called a method in Obj-C

    Hi, I am looking to write a plugin controller in Cocoa that loads bundles, and exposes a specific set of methods for the plugins to call. My question is this: is it possible to know (any) info about the object that called a method in the controller. When an instantiated plugin calls a method in my plugin controller, I would like to know which of the plugin instances called the method, without having to rely on the plugin sending a pointer to itself as a parameter (I could always validate the pointer they send, but I want to keep the API methods as simple as possible). There may be no perfect solution (and there are simple workarounds), but it's always good to learn some new tricks if possible (or the reasons why it's impossible). Thanks in advance.

  • PDO Prepare statement not processing parameters

    I've exhausted all efforts at what appears to be a trivial problem, but gotten nowhere. There is a simple Prepare statement: $qry = $core->db->prepare("SELECT * FROM users WHERE email = '?'"); $qry->execute(array('[email protected]')); However, no rows are returned. Running the query with the parameters hardcoded into the query results in a successful selection of one row. I've tryed many different methods of doing the prepare, but even it this most simple form it isn't working. The PDO object is stored in a singleton called Core. PDO is using the mysql driver.

  • What's the deal with all of the abstract stuff?

    I see a lot of talk about MVVM, MVC, Design Patterns etc... You know, some guy has a blog, and he spent the last six months learning about one these things and desiging a program centered around that concept and then he goes on and on about it like its better than sliced bread. I read all of this crap and I wonder, whatever happened to simple logical programming? Not self-absorbed huge frameworks of design patterns and mvc and whatever else you can think of... just simple linear programming, perhaps a few classes to encapsulate things here and there.

  • Using pydev with Eclipse on OSX

    I setup PyDev with this path for the python interpreter /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Python since the one under /usr/bin were alias and Eclipse won't select it. I can run my python script now but cannot run the shell as an external tool. The message I get is variable references empty selection ${resource_loc} Same if I use {container_loc} Any thoughts ?     Well i want from the drop down menu(Menu Item List) one item to be working as an link, to open an url/website in safari - thats it.     This code in PHP sends a HTTP POST to a Django app using CURL lib. I need that this code sends POST but redirect to the page in the same submit. Like a simple form does. The PHP Code: $c = curl_init(); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, true); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_URL, "http://www.xxx.com"); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, 'Var='.$var); curl_exec($c); curl_close ($c); In this case, the PHP is sending the HTTP POST, but is not redirecting to the page. He is printing the result. My URL still .php and not a django/url/ I need be redirected to the django URL with the Post like a simple form in HTML does. Any Idea? Thanks.
