  • RESTful Web Services: Different XML Representation for the same resource

    - by AlexImmelman
Hi, I'm developing a REST Web Service using a XML format response and I have some problems (Really, one problem). One of my resources has some final fields so once they're created, they can't be modified. According to that, I need different representations for this resource depending on what I'm doing: Creating or modifiying it. What should I do, give to the user different XML-Schemas for the same resource or write just one XML-Schema and read some fields or not depending on the method I'm being requested?? Thanks

  • Django FileField not saving to upload_to location

    - by Erik
I have an Attachment model that has a FileField in a Django 1.4.1 app. This FileField has a callable upload_to parameter which, per the Django docs should be called when the form (and therefore the model) is saved. When I run FormTest below, the upload_to callable is never called and the file therefore does not appear in the location provided by the upload_to method. What am I doing wrong? Notice that in the passing tests in ModelTest (also below), the upload_to method works as expected. Test: from core.forms.attachments import AttachmentForm from django.test import TestCase import unittest from django.core.files.uploadedfile import SimpleUploadedFile from django.core.files.storage import default_storage def suite(): return unittest.TestSuite( [ unittest.TestLoader().loadTestsFromTestCase(FormTest), ] ) class FormTest(TestCase): def test_form_1(self): filename = 'filename' f = file(filename) data = {'name':'name',} file_data = {'attachment_file':SimpleUploadedFile(f.name,f.read()),} form = AttachmentForm(data=data,files=file_data) self.assertTrue(form.is_valid()) attachment = form.save() root_directory = 'attachments' upload_location = root_directory + '/' + attachment.directory + '/' + filename self.assertTrue(attachment.attachment_file) # Fails self.assertTrue(default_storage.exists(upload_location)) # Fails Attachment Model: from django.db import models from parent_mixins import Parent_Mixin import uuid from django.db.models.signals import pre_delete,pre_save from dirtyfields import DirtyFieldsMixin def upload_to(instance,filename): return 'attachments/' + instance.directory + '/' + filename def uuid_directory_name(): return uuid.uuid4().hex class Attachment(DirtyFieldsMixin,Parent_Mixin,models.Model): attachment_file = models.FileField(blank=True,null=True,upload_to=upload_to) directory = models.CharField(blank=False,default=uuid_directory_name,null=False,max_length=32) name = models.CharField(blank=False,default=None,null=False,max_length=128) class Meta: app_label = 'core' def __str__(self): return unicode(self).encode('utf-8') def __unicode__(self): return unicode(self.name) @models.permalink def get_absolute_url(self): return('core_attachments_update',(),{'pk': self.pk}) # • Axis web service can't be invoked from web application

    - by jani
Hi all, I have a simple axis 1.4 web service which I deployed successfully and can invoke it from main method of a Java class. This works fine but when I try to invoke it from a web application it throws an exception saying 'Class not found' for the class 'ws/impl/AwardWebServiceSoapBindingStub'. I tried to debug it but could not find anything. Any help? Thanks in advance. Regards, Jani.

  • determine if javascript blur/focusout event is from selecting flash or leaving browser

    - by jedierikb
In IE when I select flash, document.onfocusout is fired. When this event is fired, I would like to distinguish between selecting flash and leaving the browser. When I handle the callback, document.activeElement is the previous html element with focus (what I just left), so this is not helpful for solving this problem. Clearly there has been a change in focus to warrant calling the blur method -- is this information available somewhere? Or is there a better way to do this?

  • Flex: Create custom stroke on LineSeries?

    - by John Isaacks
You can easily set a stroke on a line series like this: <mx:LineSeries yField="apple"> <mx:lineStroke> <mx:Stroke color="0x6699FF" weight="4" alpha=".8" /> </mx:lineStroke> </mx:LineSeries> This will set alpha for the entire stroke to .8 But I want to be able to set a different alpha on the stoke for each plot based on something in the dataProvider. For example the yField in the lineSeries is "Apple" which is how it knows where to plot for the lineSeries. I want to be able to add something like alphaField which tells it what to set the stroke alpha for each plot. so if my dataProvider was: <result month="Jan-04"> <apple>81768</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Feb-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Mar-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>.5</alpha> </result> And I set alphaField="alpha" then I would have a solid stroke from plot 0 to plot 1 and then a 50% alpha stroke from plot 1 to plot 2. How can I do this??? I am looking in the commitProperties() and updateDisplayList() methods of LineSeries and have no idea what would need to be added/changed to make this? I am pretty sure, this class has to use Graphics.lineTo() to draw each plot, so basically it would need to "get" the current alphaField value somehow, and apply a Graphics.lineStyle() with the correct alpha before drawing each line. Thanks!! UPDATE I have gotten much closer to my answer. When I extend LineRenderer I override updateDisplayList() which calls GraphicsUtilities.drawPolyLine() I extend GraphicsUtilities and override the method drawPolyLine() as this is where the line is actually drawn. I can call lineStyle() in here and change the alpha of the line... I still have 1 thing I cannot figure out, from within the drawPolyLine() method how can I access that data that dictates what the alpha should be? Thanks!!!!

  • Excel password removal

    - by nkcooke
We receive Excel workbook files every day which are password protected with the same password. We know this password. Is there a utility or method to remove password protection on these workbook files without invoking Excel.exe or the Excel object. Our goal is to take Excel out of the process and utilize SpreadsheetGear in VB.net. However, SpreadsheetGear can only unprotect worksheets not workbooks. Thanks

  • Nh.Burrow with WCF

    - by Jochen
Hello, After implementing Nh.Burrow in an asp.net application, I was wondering how to do it for a WCF-service. My first idea was to put a the BurrowFramework().InitWorkSpace(); in each method and set the InstanceContextMode to per Call on these methods. Now I have two questions: Are there better methods to combine Nh.Burrow with WCF? Is there a way to create and use a Long Burrow Conversation with WCF? Regards, Jochen

  • Enumerate registered namespaces of a PHP DOMDocument object

    - by zneak
Hello world, For one of my projects, I'm using the DOMDocument class to load and manipulate XML documents. I'd need to retrieve every namespace used in the document; however, I can't find how I'd do that. The DOMDocument class has methods to get the namespace prefix of an URI or the URI of a namespace prefix, but I've seen nothing to actually enumerate registered namespaces. The SimpleXML library has a getNamespaces() method for that. Is there an equivalent for DOMDocument?

  • Call task more than once in Rails 3 generator

    - by balexand
I'm writing a Rails 3 generator that creates two different models. Here's a very simplified example of what I'm trying to do: def my_generator_task invoke "model", ["foo"] invoke "model", ["bar"] end The problem is that the Thor invoke method only invokes a task once, so the second call to the "model" task never happens and the "bar" model is never created. Does anyone know an elegant way to accomplish this, preferably in a way that doesn't break the ability to run "rails destroy" with the generator?

  • Currency Format in C# to shorten the output string

Hey, I currently have a Currency Format method: private string FormatCurrency(double moneyIn) { CultureInfo ci = new CultureInfo("en-GB"); return moneyIn.ToString("c", ci); } I'm looking to adapt this to shorten the string as the currency get's larger. Kind of like how stack overflow goes from 999 to 1k instead of 1000 (or 1.6k instead of 1555). I imagine that this is a relativly easy task however is there any built in function for it or would you just have to manually manipulate the string? Thanks

  • character to the corresponding virtual-key code in c#

    - by kambamsu
Hi, Currently, i'm using the method "VkKeyScan" in the win32 api to convert a character to its virtual keycode. But the problem that this seems to have is that, when i pass small alphabets, it works fine whereas when i pass in a capital alphabet, it doesnt return the appropriate keycode and similarly with special characters like "(" or "}" .. How do i do this? Is there anyway for me to directly convert a string to its virtual equivalent without considering whether it contains capitalized or special characters? Thanks

I would like to remove this rule while checking code style. May I know your ideal on this rule?
