  • jQuery li:has(ul) selector issue

    I was creating a tree using UL LI list and jQuery. I used a jQuery Selector jQuery(li:has(ul)) to find all the list nodes having childs and then added a click event to it. jQuery(li:has(ul)).click(function(event) { jQuery(this).children.toggle(); jQuery(this).css("cursor","hand"); }); This works for me except i dont understand why i get a cursor hand and click event triggering even when i take mouse pointer to childs of my selected li <li> Parent // it works here that is fine <ul> <li> child1 // it works here i dont understand need explanation </li> <li> child2 // it works here i dont understand need explanation </li> </ul> </li>

  • SQL error C# - Parameter already defined

    Hey there. I have a c# application that parses txt files and imports the data from them into a sql db. I was using sqlite and am now working on porting it to sql server. It was working fine with sqlite but now with sql i am getting an error when it is processing the files. It added the first row of data to the db and then says "parameter @PartNumber has already been declared. Variable names must be unique within a batch or stored procedure".   • Avoiding class_eval in Ruby metaprogramming

    I want to have a return_empty_set class method in Ruby, similar to the attr_reader methods. My proposed implementation is class Class def return_empty_set *list list.each do |x| class_eval "def #{x}; Set.new; end" end end end and example usage: class Foo return_empty_set :one end Foo.new.one # returns #<Set: {}> but resorting to a string seems like quite a hack. Is there a cleaner or better way to write this, perhaps avoiding class_eval? Or is this the best way to go?

  • Passing an empty IEnumerable argument to a method

    I have this method (simplified): void DoSomething(IEnumerable<int> numbers); And I invoke it like this: DoSomething(condition==true?results:new List<int>()); The variable results is formed with a LINQ select condition (IEnumerable). I was wondering is this List<int>() the best way (the fastest?) to pass an empty collection, or is new int[0] better? Or, something else would be faster, a Collection, etc.? In my example null wouldn't be ok.

  • How to let an average user design a boolean expression graphically

    In our application there's a list of customers, and a list of keywords (among other things). Each customer can have a number of keywords, but it's not mandatory. So for instance, one customer can have the keywords "retail" and "chain", one can have only "contractor" and a third can have none at all. I want to let the user make a selection of customers based on these keywords, but not having to write (retail AND chain) or contractor and not wholesale I would like to make it as user-friendly as possible, and ideally with only "simple" controls, like checkboxes, comboboxes etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to design this? Or maybe some examples of applications where there are similar functionality?

    I have some problems with ASP.NET MVC’s default model binder. The View contains HTML like this: <input name="SubDTO[0].Id" value="1" type="checkbox"> <input name="SubDTO[1].Id" value="2" type="checkbox"> This is my simplified ‘model’: public class SubDTO { public virtual string Id { get; set; } } public class DTO { public List<SubDTO> SubDTOs { get; set; } public DTO() { SubDTOs = new List< SubDTO>(); } } All this works fine if the user selects at least the first checkbox (SubDTO[0].Id). The controller ‘receives’ a nicely initialised/bound DTO. However, if the first check box is not selected but only, for example, SubDTO[1].Id the object SubDTOs is null.     I try to increase performance of Delphi 2007 and Codeinsight. In the application there are 483 files added in the DPR file. I don't know if it is imagination but I feel that I got better performance from Codeinsight by simply readd all files in the DPR. I also think (correct me if I'm wrong) that all files that are included in a uses section also should be included in the DPR file for best performance. My question is, does it exists a tool that scan the whole project and give a list what files are missing in the DPR file and what files can be removed? Would also be nice to have a list of uses that can be removed in the PAS files. Regards

Since all I'm doing in GetMatchingUsers(IEnumerable users) is taking the IEnumerable and just returning the IUsers whose ID's match( 2 IUsers in this case), my understanding is that by default "Except" will use reference equality for comparing the objects to be excluded. Is this not how "Except" behaves? What is even more interesting is that if I materialize the objects using .ToList() and then get the matching users, and call "Except", everything works as expected! Like so: IEnumerable users = doc.Element("Users").Elements("User").Select (u = new User { ID = (int)u.Attribute("id"), Name = (string)u.Attribute("name") } ).OfType().ToList(); //explicity materializing all objects by calling ToList() var matches = User.GetMatchingUsers(users); var excludes = users.Except(matches); // excludes now contains 6 users as expected I don't see why I should need to materialize objects for calling "Except" given that its defined on IEnumerable? Any suggesstions / insights would be much appreciated.

  • How do i get the default gateway in LINUX given the destination?

I'm trying to get the default gateway, using the destination 0.0.0.0 i used this command: netstat -rn | grep 0.0.0.0 and it returns this list: Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface 10.9.9.17 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 tun0 133.88.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 0.0.0.0 133.88.31.70 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0 My goal here is to ping the default gateway using destination 0.0.0.0; thus, that is "133.88.31.70"; but this one returns a list because of using 'grep'. Question is: How do i get the default gateway only? I will need it for my bash script to identify if net connection is up or not. Any answers will be much appreciated. =)

  • Can you detect a 301 redirect with Microsoft.XMLHTTP object?

    I'm using VBScript and the Microsoft.XMLHTTP object to scrape some web data. I have a list of URLs to check, but unfortunately some of them 301 redirect to others on the list, so I wind up with redundant data. Is it at all possible to make the XMLHTTP object fail on 301 redirect? Or at least cache the original response header? Or otherwise just let me know what happened? (notes: I have no control over the server I'm requesting data from; when I get new data, I could check if it's redundant, but I'd like to avoid that if possible). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Planning a competition

    I need to produce the schedule of a sport-event. There are 30 teams. Each team has to play 8 matches. This means that it is not possible for each team to compete again all other teams, but I need to avoid that two team compete more than once against each other. My idea was to generate all possible matches (for 30 teams: (30*29)/2 = 435 matches) and select from this list 120 matches (8 match for each team: 8 * 30 / 2 = 120 matches). This is where I'm having a hard time: how can I select these 120 matches? I tried some simple solutions (take first match of the list, then the last, and so on) but they don't seem to work with 30 teams. I also tried to generate all possible match combination and find which one is working but with 30 team, this is too much calculation time. Is there an existing algorithm that I could implement?

  • Determining filetype of file in assets folder

    Question: How do you programmatically distinguish between directories and regular files in the assets folder? When using AssetManager to access files in the assets folder, it seems impossible to determine if a file is in fact a file or a directory. You get the list of files from the list method and then open the file using the open method. I thought perhaps using the openFd method to get the asset file descriptor (and then subsequently requesting the normal file descriptor) would provide me some information. But requesting the file descriptor for a directory results in an IOException (which makes sense since what would it mean for a directory to have a file descriptor...?). Currently I'm relying on that IOException (resulting from attemptng to open a directory in the assets folder) in order to determine if a file is in fact a directory. (Opening a regular file works just fine). This seems like a bad idea. Any other suggestions to distinguish between a file and a directory?

I tried to create one using a doubly linked list, in which (i thought) reversing can be done in O(1) by just changing a value associated with the starting and ending node which indicates the direction of traversing the list. I tried to implement it but got stuck. Maybe the approach is wrong! Are trees applicable here? If yes, how? Any ideas or links are appreciated? Thanks in advance.

    I have a list of controls that I change based on an event. The controls are contained within a table that is created dynamically. I traverse through a set of controls and if it is a RadioButtonList or a DropDownList I do the following: CType(cntrl, ListControl).SelectedValue = val The radio buttons set just fine but the dropdown list doesn't reset. Can anyone tell me why. The initial table is created on the first Page Load and stored in memory. It's values are changed during the eventhandling and reposted to a MasterPage's content holder.
