  • jQuery toggle content-div from menubar

    - by nuclearsugar
    I'm having trouble getting jQuery to allow only one content-DIV to be visible at a time. So that clicking between the menu buttons (about, newsletter, contact) this will allow only one content-DIV to be visible. --- Then the content-DIV needs to hide when the associated menu button is clicked (like it does currently). --- Upon clicking the header 'alliteration', any content-DIVs that are open need to hide. http://home.jasonfletcher.info/all/alliteration/index.html $('#collapse_about').hide(); $('#collapse_newsletter').hide(); $('#collapse_contact').hide(); $('#menu1').click(function() { $('#collapse_about').slideToggle(400); return false; }); $('#menu2').click(function() { $('#collapse_newsletter').slideToggle(400); return false; }); $('#menu3').click(function() { $('#collapse_contact').slideToggle(400); return false; }); I understand that this is a pretty simple bit of code... but the form of it evades me. Any help is much appreciated.

  • Jquery ajax load not working

    - by Slay
    This is my code: test.html <html> <head> <title>test</title> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $(window).bind('hashchange', function(){ $('#result').load('test2.html', function(){ alert('Load was performed.'); }); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <a href="#Test1">Test 1</a> <a href="#Test2">Test 2</a> <div id="result"></div> </body> </html> test2.html <h3>This is content from test2.html</h3> I want to detect the specific page to load using window.hash in change. For instance if user go to http://localhost/test.html#test2 The main container(result) in the page will do an ajax load call to test2.html to get the content. I can't manage to get this simple code working. Appreciate if someone can guide me in the right direction. Thanks.

  • Update table instantly or “Bulk” Update in database later? And is it advisable?

    - by Mestika
    Hi, I have a question regarding a semi-constant update in a database. In short it is regarding a checkout function on a web page, which each time the checkout function is evoked it do five steps. I want to try to optimize this function and have my eye on a step where I update a table each time the checkout is performed. I take the information retrieved from the shopping cart and then update the table in question. I do have some indexes on the table, the gain from those are greater than leaving them so this is a cost I’m willing to take. Now, my question is. Could it in some way regarding to performance be better to not update the table instantly but collect every checkout items and save them in some way (maybe in a file) and then at a specific time (or several times) at day take this file and then update the table with the new information. Then I started thinking about if there was a possibility to use some sort of Bulk Update to take a file, hashmap, array (or?) and then update it. And I’m using IBM DB2 version 9.7 Mestika

  • Disable a form and all contained elements until an ajax query completes (or another solution to prev

    - by Max Williams
    I have a search form with inputs and selects, and when any input/select is changed i run some js and then make an ajax query with jquery. I want to stop the user from making further changes to the form while the request is in progress, as at the moment they can initiate several remote searches at once, effectively causing a race between the different searches. It seems like the best solution to this is to prevent the user from interacting with the form while waiting for the request to come back. At the moment i'm doing this in the dumbest way possible by hiding the form before making the ajax query and then showing it again on success/error. This solves the problem but looks horrible and isn't really acceptable. Is there another, better way to prevent interaction with the form? To make things more complicated, to allow nice-looking selects, the user actually interacts with spans which have js hooked up to them to tie them to the actual, hidden, selects. So, even though the spans aren't inputs, they are contained in the form and represent the actual interactive elements of the form. Grateful for any advice - max. Here's what i'm doing now: function submitQuestionSearchForm(){ //bunch of irrelevant stuff var questionSearchForm = jQuery("#searchForm"); questionSearchForm.addClass("searching"); jQuery.ajax({ async: true, data: jQuery.param(questionSearchForm.serializeArray()), dataType: 'script', type: 'get', url: "/questions", success: function(msg){ //more irrelevant stuff questionSearchForm.removeClass("searching"); }, error: function(msg){ questionSearchForm.removeClass("searching"); } }); return true; }

  • jquery autocomplete extra spaces

    - by elasticrash
    I got this loop in a jsp file <% for (int i = 0; i < length; i++) { for( int j = 0; j < width; j++) { element = MAP_LIST[j][i]; if (element.equals("A")) {} else if (j == width-1 && i == length-1){ %> <%=element%><%} else { %> <%=element%>,<%} } } %> which gets me a csv list from an oracle database for my autocomplete text field by using jquery function Mapsheets(type,nomos) { $(function() { var f_data; $.get('/gaec_web/MapSheets.jsp',{'datasrc-select':datasource, 'type_1': type, 'nomos': nomos}, function(data){ f_data = data.split(','); $( "#fx_no" ).autocomplete({ source: f_data, minLength: 2 }); }); }); } everything works like a charm, i type the first 2 chars and the autocomplete pops up displays every thing as it was supposed to and when I try to pick a value i get the value with several (5) extra spaces in the tail. And then when it gets submitted it fails cause it doesnt match the mapname in question. the results look like this " 320-197" So what is causing this? if i run the jsp page alone also get normal results for example 372-146, 376-146, 372-149, 368-149, 376-149, 380-149, 380-152, 376-152, 372-152, 368-152, 368-155, 376-155, 372-155, 380-155, 368-158, 380-158, 376-158, 372-158 thanks in advance

  • Why is post() not updating the DOM after it returns? Wierd timing problem observed.

    - by Sephrial
    Hi all, I have the following code that is really bugging me, I'm thinking perhaps the post() function needs to be blocking. I am new to jQuery(latest version) and AJAX, but I'm using ColdFusion which returns some HTML in the data variable. var dataResult; var statusResult; $.post('fh_result.cfm',$('#myform').serialize(),function(data,status){ dataResult = data; statusResult = status; }); //alert(statusResult); if ('success' == statusResult) { alert(statusResult); $('#result').html(dataResult); } When I uncomment out the first alert, it returns 'undefined' but then it goes into the if block and the next alert box it says 'success'. If I comment out that line it doesn't make it into the if statement at all. My guess is that I want to make this a blocking call or something because I want to insert the data on the page after the post. I also have a problem when I re-write the top code as follows: var dataResult; var statusResult; $.post('fh_result.cfm',$('#myform').serialize(),function(data,status){ dataResult = data; statusResult = status; alert(statusResult); $('#result').html(dataResult); }); //alert(statusResult); Now in this case, the alert says 'success' when I comment out the second alert box. When I uncomment it out, I get one alert that says success and the other that says undefined, but this time it updates the DOM with the result of the postback as desired. How can I do this without the alert box?

  • listbox select count not work dont work

    - by sadpcd
    I recently trying to make a form with multiple select box. When someone select the options the number of selected options will be display on another text. I'm a beginner in JavaScript. The function is called, but it doesn't count the number of the selected options. <select name="element_17_1[ ]" size="7" multiple="multiple" class="element select medium" id="element_17_1[ ]" onfocus="selectCount(this.form);" onClick="selectCount(this.form);" > <option value="Opt1">Opt1</option> <option value="Opt2">Opt2</option> <option value="Opt3">Opt3</option> <option value="Opt4">Opt4</option> <option value="Opt5">Opt5</option> <option value="Opt6">Opt6</option> <option value="Opt7">Opt7</option> </select> and this is the function I tried in the <head> function selectCount(f) { var selObj = myForm.elements['element_17_1[]']; var totalChecked = 0; for (i = 0; i < selObj.options.length; i++) { if (selObj.options[i].selected) { totalChecked++; } } f.element_9.value = totalChecked; }

  • Problems Expanding an Array in C++

    - by dxq
    I'm writing a simulation for class, and part of it involves the reproduction of organisms. My organisms are kept in an array, and I need to increase the size of the array when they reproduce. Because I have multiple classes for multiple organisms, I used a template: template <class orgType> void expandarray(orgType* oldarray, int& numitems, int reproductioncount) { orgType *newarray = new orgType[numitems+reproductioncount]; for (int i=0; i<numitems; i++) { newarray[i] = oldarray[i]; } numitems += reproductioncount; delete[] oldarray; oldarray = newarray; newarray = NULL; } However, this template seems to be somehow corrupting my data. I can run the program fine without reproduction (commenting out the calls to expandarray), but calling this function causes my program to crash. The program does not crash DURING the expandarray function, but crashes on access violation later on. I've written functions to expand an array hundreds of times, and I have no idea what I screwed up this time. Is there something blatantly wrong in my function? Does it look right to you? EDIT: Thanks for everyone's help. I can't believe I missed something so obvious. In response to using std::vector: we haven't discussed it in class yet, and as silly as it seems, I need to write code using the methods we've been taught.

  • (iphone) How to access CGRect member variable inside c++ class?

    - by Eugene
    i have a c++ class with CGrect variable and i'm getting segfault when trying to access it. class Parent { //with some virtual functions/dtors }; class Child { public: void SetRect(CGRect rect) { mRect = rect; } CGRect GetRect() { return mRect; } int GetIndex() { return mIndex; } private: CGRect mRect; int mIndex; }; i'm doing CGRect rect = childPtr->GetRect(); from object c code and it segfaults. I printed *childPtr just before the call and rect looks fine with intended data value. int index = childPtr->GetIndex(); from same object c code(*.mm), works fine though. Any idea why I'm getting segfaults? Thank you edit - It's got something to do with virtual functions. • JQuery not removeing added element

    - by Scott
    What I want to do is add and remove list items. I have got it to add new items to the list and I can remove existing ones but not the ones that have been added. • Matching a String and then incrementing a number within HTML elements

    - by Abs
    Hello all, I have tags in a html list, here is an example of two tags. <div class="tags"> <ul> <li> <a onclick="tag_search('tag1');" href="#">tag1 <span class="num-active">1</span></a> </li> <li> <a onclick="tag_search('tag2');" href="#">tag2 <span class="num-active">1</span></a> </li> </ul> </div> I would like to write a function that I can pass a string to, that will match the strings in the a hyperlink i.e. "tag1" or "tag2", if there is a match then increment the number in the span, if not then add a new li. The bit I am having trouble with is how do I search for a string in the div with class tags and then when I find a match identifying the element. I can't even do the first bit as I am use to using an ID or a Class. I appreciate any help on this using JQuery Thanks all Code so far function change_tag_count(item){ alert(item);//alerts the string test $.fn.searchString = function(str) { return this.filter('*:contains("' + item + '")'); }; if($('body').searchString(item).length){ var n = $('a').searchString(item).children().text(); n = parseInt(n) + 1; $('a').searchString(item).children().text(n); }else{ alert('here');//does not alert this when no li contains the word test $("#all_tags ul").append('<a onclick="tag_search(\''+item+'\');" href="#">'+item+'<span class="num-active">1</span></a>'); } }

  • Why does cloning the django inline formsets result to forms with similar ids and names?

    - by user1289167
    In my project I use django inline formsets. I got the jquery to clone the formsets but unfortunately the cloned forms have the same names and ids and so data entered in the last one overwrites the data from the first form. What could I be doing wrong? Here is the script: <script type="text/javascript">> function cloneMore(selector, type) { var newElement = $(selector).clone(true); var total = $('#id_' + type + '-TOTAL_FORMS').val(); newElement.find(':input').each(function() { var name = $(this).attr('name').replace('-' + (total-1) + '-','-' + total + '-'); var id = 'id_' + name; $(this).attr({'name': name, 'id': id}).val('').removeAttr('checked'); }); newElement.find('label').each(function() { var newFor = $(this).attr('for').replace('-' + (total-1) + '-','-' + total + '-'); $(this).attr('for', newFor); }); total++; $('#id_' + type + '-TOTAL_FORMS').val(total); $(selector).after(newElement); } </script>

  • Which way of declaring a variable is fastest?

    - by ADB
    For a variable used in a function that is called very often and for implementation in J2ME on a blackberry (if that changed something, can you explain)? class X { int i; public void someFunc(int j) { i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } or class X { static int i; public void someFunc(int j) { i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } or class X { public void someFunc(int j) { int i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } I know there is a difference how a static versus non-static class variable is accessed, but I don't know it would affect the speed. I also remember reading somewhere that in-function variables may be accessed faster, but I don't know why and where I read that. Background on the question: some painting function in games are called excessively often and even small difference in access time can affect the overall performance when a variable is used in a largish loop.

  • jQuery date calculator - show/hide IMG

    - by utopicam
    I have a problem with the following code. I tried changing many things (symbols, classes, imgs in the code) but this is killing me and I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry it's so specific, when solved I'll change the title to something more useful. I have two images. My jquery has to calculate the day and show one image or the other depending on that (using a class with display:none). My month has 24 days (it's a xmas thing). This is what I have so far: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var currentTime = new Date() var day = currentTime.getDate(); if (day > 24){ day = 1; } $(".calDate").each(function(){ var curDate = $(this).attr("date"); if (curDate < day){ $(this).addClass("xMasPast"); } else if(curDate==day){ $(this).addClass("xMasActive"); } else { $(this).addClass("xMasInactive"); } }); $(".calDate2").each(function(){ var curDate = $(this).attr("date"); if (curDate > day){ $(this).addClass("xMasInactive"); } else if(curDate==day){ $(this).addClass("xMasActive"); } else { $(this).addClass("xMasActive"); } }); }); </script> But it's showing all the images. What am I missing? (any ideas on making the code simpler are more than welcomed). Thanks for your help! Update: simplified HTML <div><img src="day21.png" which="21"/></a></div> <img id="bola21" class="calDate2" src="day21.png"/>

  • How do I use jquery to both download & delete files dynamically from servlet

    - by Adam
    Is it possible to a jquery $.get() to call a servlet and use it to both download a file or update the page without reloading the page? (Or more basically, can I download a file without reloading the page?) For example, I am using a servlet that either returns a file to download of mimetype "application/octet-stream", or returns text to be update in the page of type "text/html". I can write a form with a submit, but then it reloads the page, so I've been trying to use $.get()... but the download doesn't work. <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function(){ $("#handleFileOptions button").button(); }); function handleFilesSubmit(requestType) { $.get('FileServlet', {filename: $('#radioFileList input:radio:checked').button("widget").text(), requestType: requestType}, function(data){ ...?... }); } </script> In the html: <div id = "handleFiles"> <div id ="radioFileList"> <div id="radioFileList"> <input value="file0.txt" type="radio" id="fileitem0><label for="fileitem0">file0.txt</label> <input value="file1.txt" type="radio" id="fileitem1><label for="fileitem0">file1.txt</label> </div> </div> <div id="handleFileOptions"> <button id="handleFileOption0" onclick="handleFilesSubmit('Download')">Download</button> <button id="handleFileOption1" onclick="handleFilesSubmit('Delete')">Delete</button> </div> </div>

  • Maintaining Mouse Control in Embedded swfs (i.e. parent / child ) Flash cs4 AS3

    - by garydev
    Hello to all, I have an issue that is driving me nuts. I have an AS3 application that performs a calculation based upon user's input to determine a result. The purpose is to predict the results of a horse's coat color based on the genetics. The results are given in a 3d model swfs that are loaded into the "shell's" UILoader Component and they rotate. I have an example of this here: http://www.provideoshow.com/coatcalculator/coat_calculator.html As you can see this works fine with an "auto-rotate" feature. The problem is that my client wants the 3d models to be rotated by the user's mouse. I have the 3d models rotating with the mouse but they only work when they are stand alone swfs. They break when they are loaded into the shell. Some research informs me that the issue is in the stage properties and the parent not receiving them from the child. I've gotten some advice that I need to pass a reference to the shell's stage and preferably in the init function. This is the code I have in the child which is loaded as a class public function Main_master_withmouse() { if(stage) { _stage = stage; init(stage); } } protected function init(rootStage:Stage):void { if(rootStage) { _stage = rootStage; } else { _stage = this.stage; } sceneWidth = _stage.stageWidth createChildren(); startRendering(); } I can't figure out what to put in the parent to pass the reference to its stage. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

  • Initialize void pointer to point to an array

    - by idealistikz
    Suppose I have the following: typedef struct { int itemSize; int count; void *list; } Mystruct; Mystruct *InitStruct(int itemSize, int count) { Mystruct *my = malloc(sizeof(Mystruct)); my->itemSize = itemSize; my->count = count; //What is the best way to initialize list? For example: //my->list = malloc(count * sizeof(void *)); OR //my->list = malloc(count * sizeof(itemSize)); } //The following should return a pointer to the element stored at a given index void *Retrieve(const MyStruct *my, int index) { void *item; //What is the best way to return a pointer to the item at the given index from //my->list? } Mystruct is similar to an array and void *list is supposed to store the elements or pointers to the elements. Mystruct *InitStruct is a function that initializes a Mystruct pointer and void *Retrieve is a function that returns a pointer to the element stored at a given index. First, how should I initialize void* list? Should it hold the actual elements or be an array of pointers pointing to the elements? Second, using the void *Retrieve function, how do I return a pointer to the element stored at a given index in my-list?

  • Select form children when multiple forms are present jQuery

    - by afreeland
    I am dealing with a webpage that has multiple forms..some basic HTML forms and some AJAX forms. I have a created validation for inputs, let me give an example...if an input has a class="required" whenever a submit button is pressed if any required classes are empty then the form doesnt submit. Which works great...until you have multiple forms with required fields that dont apply to the section your submitting. I am able to find the closest form $(this).closest("form") and it gets me the form element properly, I then need to be able to loop only through the children of that form. I have tried: .children(':input'), .find('input') and honestly to many to list. Here is the code for when a button is selected $('#formSubmit').click(function (e) { var submit = true; var form = $(this).closest("form"); var formID = $(form).attr("id"); e.preventDefault(); $(form).children(":input").each(function () { if ($('#ERROR').length > 0) { submit = false; alert("Please fix errors to continue"); } $('.required').each(function () { if ($(this).val() == "" || $(this).val() == undefined) { submit = false; $(this).css({ 'background-color': '#fef236' }); } }); }); if (submit == true) { this.form.submit(); } }); //End of #formSubmit Also of interest I have started creating forms with ids that are GUID's so they will be unique and allow me to target things without any issues, just wanted to throw that out there if it can help lead to a solution I appreciate any help =)

  • jQuery, Ajax & PHP submit multiple forms dilemma

    - by user557563
    This is a very simple form that I have found on the web (as I am a jQuery beginner). <!-- this is my jquery --> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $("form#submit_wall").submit(function() { var message_wall = $('#message_wall').attr('value'); var id = $('#id').attr('value'); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "index.php?leht=pildid", data:"message_wall="+ message_wall + "&id="+ id, cache: false, success: function(){ $("ul#wall").prepend(""+message_wall+"", ""+id+""); $("ul#wall li:first").fadeIn(); alert("Thank you for your comment!"); } }); return false; }); }); </script> <!-- this is my HTML+PHP --> some PHP ... while($row_pilt = mysql_fetch_assoc($select_pilt)){ print <form id="submit_wall"> <label for="message_wall">Share your message on the Wall</label> <input type="text" id="message_wall" /> <input type="hidden" id="id" value="'.(int)$row_pilt['id'].'"> <button type="submit">Post to wall</button> </form> and down below is my PHP script that writes to mySQL. It is a pretty straight forward script. However, it is getting little complicated when I submit it. Since I have more than one form on my page (per WHILE PHP LOOP), thus when I submit - only the FIRST form gets submitted. Furthermore, any other subsequent forms that I submit - data is being copied from the first form. Is there any jQuery functions that clear the data? - or is there a better solution. Thanks, Nick

  • Addiing captions above images in wordpress

    - by jacob
    So I added some code in my css and there are boxes that appear over every image that is attached to a post. I've wanted to number the images and show the image number in the box(1...n). I have this in my functions.php function count_images(){ global $post; $thePostID = $post-ID; $parameters = array( 'post_type' = 'attachment', 'post_parent' = $thePostID, 'post_mime_type' = 'image'); $attachments = get_children($parameters); $content = count($attachments); return $content; } add_filter('the_content','count_images'); function caption_image_callback($matches) { $c = count_images(); for ($i=1; $i <= $c; $i++) { if (is_single()) { return ''.$i.' '; } else { return ''; } } } function caption_image($post_body_content) { $post_body_content = preg_replace_callback("||","caption_image_callback",$post_body_content); return $post_body_content; } if ( current_user_can('edit_plugins') ) { add_filter('the_content', 'caption_image'); } If I run only count_images it will show the correct number of attached images to a post(let's say 15). But for some reason the number that is shown in the boxes over the images is always 1. I've seen this done on several blogs with just php so there has to be a way(even if I have to change my whole code). PS: I had to leave spaces in some places

    Jquery code: var code = $('#code'), id = $('input[name=id]').val(), url = '<?php echo base_url() ?>mali_oglasi/mgl_check_paid'; code.on('focusout', function(){ var code_value = $(this).val(); if(code_value.length != 16 ) { if ($('p[role=code_msg]').length != 0 ) $('p[role=code_msg]').remove() ; code.after('<p role=code_msg>Pogrešan kod je unešen.</p>'); } else { if ($('p[role=code_msg]').length != 0 ) $('p[role=code_msg]').remove() ; $.post(url, {id : id, code : code_value}, function(data){ if(data != 'TRUE'){ code.after('<p role=code_msg>Uneti kod je neispravan.</p>'); } else { code.after('<p role=code_msg>Status malog oglasa je promenjen.</p>'); code.after(create_image()); code.remove(); } }); } }); PHP (Codeigniter) code: function mgl_check_paid() { $code = $this->input->post('code'); $id = $this->input->post('id'); echo ($this->mgl->mgl_check_paid($code, $id)) ? 'TRUE' : 'FALSE'; } Problem is following: When code is sent and if it is correct, PHP part will echo TRUE, and JS will execute ELSE part (after post), but for some reason it is not doing that (it is executing the first part of the statment)? What is wrong with this code?

  • Assigning jQuery ajax response text to variable constanty returns null

    - by Dan Twining
    Hi all, hopefully one of you on this great site can help. I'm having issues with assigning a variable to a jQuery ajax call response text. I have a form which when submited runs my "checkemail" function to varify the email address can be found in a database. If it's found, the responseText == "true", else "false". This works fine, and can be seen ok using Firebug....but the actual variable the response text should be assigned to is constantly showing "", and therefore causing the function to return false all the time. function checkemail(){ var EmailFromForm = $("#lostemail").val(); var EmailCheckRes = $.ajax({ type : "POST", cache : false, url : "./scripts/passreset/emailcheck.php", data : "Email="+EmailFromForm, dataType : "text", }).responseText; if (EmailCheckRes == "true") { alert("Should say true: " + EmailCheckRes); return true; } else { $("#ErrorMsg").html("Your email address is either invalid or not found."); alert("Should say false: " + EmailCheckRes); return false; } } If anyone has any pointers as to what i'm doing wrong it'd be greatly appreciated.
