Is it possible to make a wordpress page have posts and static content on it? Like have the latest posts but also have some content from the page on it too?
Hey,
Don't find any good answer to this simple question about helper/utils classes:
Why would i create a singleton (stateless) rather than static methods?
Why an object instance could be needed while the object has no state?
Sometimes i really don't know what to use...
Although a static class has only one instance and can't be instantiated, a class with a private constructor can't be instantiated (as the constructor can't be seen), so every time you call this class, this is the same one instance?
Factory classes always follow the last convention (instance class with private constructor). Why is this?
Thanks

when will memory created for extern and static variable. Is it in stack or heap.
Since its life time is till the program end, it cant be in stack it must be in heap. But size of the heap will known only at the run time. So somewhat confusion here ......
Hi,
What is Python's equivalent of "public static void main(String[] args) { ... }"? I remember having used it in the past and then forgot.
What I'm basically trying to remember is a function which I think included some underscores (__)...
thx
Just like using the many twitter or facebook widgets out there that pull the feed and display it in a nice widget, I want to create a "widget" that pulls a feed from a wordpress blog that I have, and displays it on a static, non-wordpress page. Before I try getting my hands dirty with jquery, do you know if there is any pre-existing code or plugins out there that I can use?
I would like to create shared library with cmake, but also I need to link it to third party static libraries.
For example if it should include my own file1.o, file2.o, then statically linked libfoo.la and then be written down to disk as .so file which dynamically linked to libbar.so
Is it even possible?
My question is a follow-up to the issue posted here
regarding the Intellisense performance issue when building a large solution in VS2008 that has many partial static classes.
Since Microsoft does not seem to be addressing the issue for VS2008, I would like to know if there are other ways around the problem? Waiting for VS2010 is not an option at this time. The proposed solution in the previous post is not practical as some of the partial classes may be regenerated and this would be a maintenance headache.
Hello, I am building a static-website (as in, to change a page, we change the HTML and there is no DB or anything). Well, it will have a number of pages and I don't want to copy and paste the HTML navigation and layout code around everywhere.
So what would be the best platform to use in this situation so I can have all my layout and "common" HTML markup all in one place?
In .Net, is it possible for process A to modify the values of some static data members from process B?
When running under the same AppDomain, it's possible to do so via Reflection, but about doing so between different process? (via Reflection also. I'm not looking to use functions such as Win32::ReadProcessMemory)
When a whole project (solution) consists of multiple subprojects (.vcproj), what is a preferable way to tie them: as static libraries or as shared libraries?
Assuming that those subprojects are not used elsewhere, the shared libraries approach shouldn't decrease memory usage or load time.
I have a base class with several derived classes. I want all of my derived classes to have the same Public Shared (static) method with their own implementation. How do I do this? Is it even possible?
I have a static collection of objects that will be frequently updated from multiple threads. Is it possible to lock individual objects in a collection instead of locking the entire collection so that only threads trying to access the same object in the collection would get blocked instead of every thread?
If there is a better way to update objects in a collection from multiple threads, I'm all ears.
Hi,
I am creating an application that is connecting to another computer through an Ethernet cable in XP. I need to execute the network setup wizard to setup a local area connection (with File sharing Turned On) and then set static ips and the default gateway; all this programmatically using C#. How can this be achieved?
class B {
public:
static int a;
}
class C:B {
}
I want to use a variable through any inherited classes but it has problem when I declare a.
B::B() {
a=1;
}
Do I do it right ?
Thanks for reading and waiting for your comments.
Hi Experts,
I am clueless to find out why should we use static method with JSON. Is it possible that I click a button and I load a gridview with JSON ??
Thanks in advance
Is there a simple way of making the static content of an .aspx page multi-lingual? Resource files are nice for controls but it's quite hard and annoying to write big chunks of html in them. Any easier ways?
Will the following piece of code work as expected in a multi-threaded scenario?
int getUniqueID()
{
static int ID=0;
return ++ID;
}
It's not necessary that the IDs to be contiguous - even if it skips a value, it's fine.
Can it be said that when this function returns, the value returned will be unique across all threads?
Do you know a Java library to render static SWF file (no animation, just raster and vector images on a canvas) to PNG? I know swfrender (a part of swftools) but I need java, not C.
