  • How to pass in password to pg_dump?

    - by Mark
I'm trying to create a cronjob to back up my database every night before something catastrophic happens. It looks like this command should meet my needs: pg_dump dbname | gzip > $(date +%Y-%m-%d).psql.gz Except after running that, it expects me to type in a password. I can't do that if I run it from cron. How can I pass one in automatically?

  • Is there a way to read a c-string and then an int with a single scanf in C?

    - by Aux
Hey, I'm trying to get this function to get the following output with the listed input, the "..." is where I'm not sure what to write: void Question8(void) { char sentence[100]; int grade; scanf(….); printf("%s %d", sentence, grade); } Input: My CS Grade is 1000 Output: My CS Grade is 100 However, the kicker is that I need the scanf to read a c-string and then an int with a single scanf command, is this even possible?

  • What's wrong with this "if"?

    - by Gurzo
Hello, I'm currently trying to make an AppleScript which should recognize the selected file in Finder and do the relative command in Terminal. Everything was going fine since I reached the part where it should define the language of the selected file: it just doesn't check the ifs. I checked if it writes fileExtension correctly (via return) and it does. Here is the Gist with the code, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

But i only want it to replace first line. i also tried sed with \< \ and \b \b, but no luck. Could it be the '=' sign? Do we have something like -w as in grep command? Thank you.

If I set the following option in the client config, I can no longer browse the web via domain name: redirect-gateway def1 On the server, I have run the following command: iptables -t nat -s 10.8.0.0/24 -A POSTROUTING -j SNAT --to myserver'sIP but that hasn't changed anything. Can anyone help suggest something?

    - by JBL
I'm writing an VS 2008 add-in to synchronize Setup project Version with startup project assembly version. It works fine. But I was wondering if it was possible to call add-in from the Prebuild Event of my setup project. It works fine by command line window, but I didn't find any syntax to make it work in prebuildEvent. Is Someone has an idea ? Thanks
