  • MainMenu with Images (WinForms, C#)

    Hi All I have a MainMenu in my app and I would like to have little icons relevant to the Item in each menu. But the MainMenu control does not support this. I would use the MenuStrip control, though that is a pretty ugly option in my opinion. Does anybody have any suggestions? Are there any free/open source alt's out there, or would it be easy/possible to implement that feature into the existing MainMenu control? Thanks

Whenever I edit and mark some events via the calendar app, it is stored in the database but if I edit the calendar.db from some outside source the changes made are not reflected in the calendar app. So my question is: Does the calendar app maintain a cache or some other form of database?     I am currently get access to a cluster of Unix machines, but they don't have the software I need (numpy, scipy, matplotlib, etc), and I have to install them by myself (I don't have the root permission, either, so commands like apt-get or yast doesn't work). In the worst case, I have to compile them all from source. Is there any better way to do so? I hear something about Enthought Python and Sage, but not sure what is the best way to do so.     It's said that composition is preferred over inheritance. Every single open source GUI toolkit however uses inheritance for the drawn widgets (windows, labels, frames, buttons, etc). I checked Qt, wxWidgets, and GTK+. Is there an example of a GUI toolkit (written in any language) that uses composition instead of inheritance to separate the various widgets?
