  I have a scenario where I'm calculating something in the WHERE clause of my SQL, but I also want to get that calculation - since it's expensive. Is it possible to get the results of something done in the WHERE clause, like this: SELECT `foo` FROM `table` WHERE (foo = LongCalculation()) Wishful thinking, or possible with MySQL?

Now, without going into the reasons why, I need to update all those views to DB2, also on the local server. I would hate to have to do this manually on each view. I know that something like this works: declare @qualifiedTable varchar(200) = @dbName+N'.[T1]' select max([id]) from @qualifiedTable But I have to do this LOTS of times so I would really like to do it in line.
