  • XSLT Pagination

    I have created a xslt document which formats an xml document, but I would like the results from the xslt sheet to be paginated. here is the orginal xlst document <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:for-each select="musicInformation/musicdetails"> <label for="artistname{position()}" id="artistnameLabel{position()}">Artist Name:</label> <span id ="artistname{position()}"><xsl:value-of select="artistname" /></span> <br/> <label for="recordname{position()}" id="recordnameLabel{position()}">Record Name:</label> <span id ="recordname{position()}"><xsl:value-of select="recordname" /></span> <br/> <label for="recordtype{position()}" id="recordtypeLabel{position()}">Record Type:</label> <span id ="recordtype{position()}"><xsl:value-of select="recordtype" /></span> <br/> <label for="format{position()}" id="formatLabel{position()}">Format:</label> <span id ="format{position()}"><xsl:value-of select="format" /></span> <br/> <a href="xmlDetail.php?mid={@m_id}" >See Details</a> <br/><br/> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • encodeURIComponent is really useful?

    - by Marco Demaio
Something I still don't understand when perfoming an http-get request to the server is what the advantage is in using JS fucntion encodeURIcomponent to encode each component of the http-get. Doing some tests I saw the server (using PHP) gets the values of the http-get request properly also if I don't use encodeURIcomponent!!! Obviuosly I still need to encode at client level the special character & ? = / : otherwise an http-get value like this "peace&love=virtue" would be considered as new key value pair of the http-get request instead of a one single value. But why does encodeURIcompenent encodes also many other charcaters like 'è' for example wich is translated into %C3%A8 that must be decoded on a PHP server using the utf8_decode function. By using encodeURIcomponent all values of the http-get request are utf8 encoded, therefor when getting them in PHP I have to call each time the utf8_decode function on each $_GET value which is quite annoying. Why can't we just encode only the & ? = / : charcaters??? see also: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2607946/js-encodeuricomponent-result-different-from-the-one-created-by-form It shows that encodeURIComponent does not even encode properly because a simple browser FORM GET encodes charactrs like '€', in different way. So I still wonder what does this encodeURIComponent is for?

  • Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validator

    - by Gabe G
Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG. What am I misssing?

  • In .NET, Why Can I Access Private Members of a Class Instance within the Class?

    - by AMissico
While cleaning some code today written by someone else, I changed the access modifier from Public to Private on a class variable/member/field. I expected a long list of compiler errors that I use to "refactor/rework/review" the code that used this variable. Imagine my surprise when I didn't get any errors. After reviewing, it turns out that another instance of the Class can access the private members of another instance declared within the Class. Totally unexcepted. Is this normal? I been coding in .NET since the beginning and never ran into this issue, nor read about it. I may have stumbled onto it before, but only "vaguely noticed" and move on. Can anyone explain this behavoir to me? I would like to know the "why" I can do this. Please explain, don't just tell me the rule. Am I doing something wrong? I found this behavior in both C# and VB.NET. The code seems to take advantage of the ability to access private variables. Sincerely, Totally Confused Class Jack Private _int As Integer End Class Class Foo Public Property Value() As Integer Get Return _int End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) _int = value * 2 End Set End Property Private _int As Integer Private _foo As Foo Private _jack As Jack Private _fred As Fred Public Sub SetPrivate() _foo = New Foo _foo.Value = 4 'what you would expect to do because _int is private _foo._int = 3 'TOTALLY UNEXPECTED _jack = New Jack '_jack._int = 3 'expected compile error _fred = New Fred '_fred._int = 3 'expected compile error End Sub Private Class Fred Private _int As Integer End Class End Class

  • Proving that the distance values extracted in Dijkstra's algorithm is non-decreasing?

    - by Gail
I'm reviewing my old algorithms notes and have come across this proof. It was from an assignment I had and I got it correct, but I feel that the proof certainly lacks. The question is to prove that the distance values taken from the priority queue in Dijkstra's algorithm is a non-decreasing sequence. My proof goes as follows: Proof by contradiction. Fist, assume that we pull a vertex from Q with d-value 'i'. Next time, we pull a vertex with d-value 'j'. When we pulled i, we have finalised our d-value and computed the shortest-path from the start vertex, s, to i. Since we have positive edge weights, it is impossible for our d-values to shrink as we add vertices to our path. If after pulling i from Q, we pull j with a smaller d-value, we may not have a shortest path to i, since we may be able to reach i through j. However, we have already computed the shortest path to i. We did not check a possible path. We no longer have a guaranteed path. Contradiction.

  • how is data stored at bit level according to "Endianness" ?

    - by bakra
    I read about Endianness and understood squat... so I wrote this main() { int k = 0xA5B9BF9F; BYTE *b = (BYTE*)&k; //value at *b is 9f b++; //value at *b is BF b++; //value at *b is B9 b++; //value at *b is A5 } k was equal to "A5 B9 BF 9F" and (byte)pointer "walk" o/p was "9F BF b9 A5" so I get it bytes are stored backwards...ok. ~ so now I thought how is it stored at BIT level... I means is "9f"(1001 1111) stored as "f9"(1111 1001)? so I wrote this int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { int k = 0xA5B9BF9F; void *ptr = &k; bool temp= TRUE; cout<<"ready or not here I come \n"< for(int i=0;i<32;i++) { temp = *( (bool*)ptr + i ); if( temp ) cout<<"1 "; if( !temp) cout<<"0 "; if(i==7||i==15||i==23) cout<<" - "; } } I get some random output even for nos. like "32" I dont get anything sensible. why ?

  • JQuery printfunction: no content, no view

I got a JQuery printfunction: function doPrintPage() { myWindow = window.open('', '', 'titlebar=yes,menubar=yes,status=yes,scrollbars=yes,width=800,height=600'); myWindow.document.open(); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById("studentnummer").value); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById("Voornaam").value + " " + document.getElementById("Tussenvoegsel").value + " " + document.getElementById("Achternaam").value); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Result"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab1').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Tree"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab2').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Open"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab3').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Free"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab4').innerHTML); myWindow.document.close(); myWindow.focus(); } There are 3 gridviews (elements in "tab#"), and on the page that is generated by this script, eacht gridview gets a header (Results, Tree, Open, Free). It is possible that there is no gridview for "Tree". It would be nice if the "tree" header wouldn't be shown either. EDIT: I tried this: if ($('tab4')[0]) {myWindow.document.write("Free"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab4').innerHTML); but it seems not to work either... Anyone knows the solution?

  • Cascading input control is empty while accessing a Jasper Report

    - by Yogesh R
I call a jasper report through an independent URL through which I pass one of the input controls needed to run the report. E.g. http:// localhost:8080/jasperserver/flow.html?_flowId=viewReportFlow&standAlone=true&reportUnit=xyz&ParentFolderUri=abcd&j_username=xyz&j_password=xyz&parameter1=value1& . . . As you can see in the URL, I pass the JasperServer username and password, reportUnit name and location and other mandatory parameters, along with the report input parameter, i.e., "parameter1" which can have a value like "value1". I used a mandatory, read-only and visible input control for this input value. Its value would come from the URL, showed in the box but was read-only and hence could not be changed. The report was working absolutely fine upto this point. But the tragedy began when my client rejected this idea. He wanted a completely invisible input control to my report and the input value would be passed through the URL, just like illustrated above. And then my client asked me to refer to this and made me work on cascading input controls. Recently I added a cascading input control to this report. The input control type is a single select query, which utilizes two parameters that I pass to the report through the URL. Now when the Jasper server responds to the URL with the input parameters, all the other static parameters work properly, except for the cascaded one. When I click the select box of the cascaded input, I can see the desired options for a second, and then, it just goes empty while I'm viewing the select list. But when I make the "Parameter1" input control visible, the cascading input control works! And then I turn in invisible, the cascading input control turns into a beast that does things by itself and not listen to his master. I am not able to understand why this is happening. Could anybody please provide me a solution to this?

  • Silverlight MVVM binding seems not to work

    - by Savvas Sopiadis
Hi everybody! Building my first SL MVVM application (Silverlight4 RC) and have some issues i don't understand. Having a WPF background i don't know what is going on here: ViewModel has several properties, in which one is called SelectedRecord. This is a get only property and is defined like this: public Culture SelectedRecord { get { return culturesView.View.CurrentItem as Culture; } } As you can see it is gets the current value of a CollectionViewSource (called culturesView). So if i select a Culture, the SelectedRecord (gets a value directly from within the CollectionViewSource) as expected. (Actually there is a datagrid control bound to the CollectionViewSource, hence it is possible to change the selected item) OK. Now to the View . There are several views which access this ViewModel and in particular there is one which shows the values of the aforementioned property SelectedRecord (let's call it the EditView). To show this EditView there is a button (which has its Command property bound to an ICommand in the ViewModel) which functions (the first time) as expected. This means: 1st try : i select a record, switch to EditView, outcome: selected record values are shown (as expected!!). 2nd try: switch back to datagrid, select another record, switch to EditView, outcome: the values of the previous shown record are shown again!!! WHY?? First i thought that the SelectedRecord has not the correct value set, but i was mistaken: it HAS the correct value! So it should be shown!? What am i missing? In WPF this would work!! Thanks in advance

  • Updating nullability of columns in SQL 2008

    - by Shaul
I have a very wide table, containing lots and lots of bit fields. These bit fields were originally set up as nullable. Now we've just made a decision that it doesn't make sense to have them nullable; the value is either Yes or No, default No. In other words, the schema should change from: create table MyTable( ID bigint not null, Name varchar(100) not null, BitField1 bit null, BitField2 bit null, ... BitFieldN bit null ) to create table MyTable( ID bigint not null, Name varchar(100) not null, BitField1 bit not null, BitField2 bit not null, ... BitFieldN bit not null ) alter table MyTable add constraint DF_BitField1 default 0 for BitField1 alter table MyTable add constraint DF_BitField2 default 0 for BitField2 alter table MyTable add constraint DF_BitField3 default 0 for BitField3 So I've just gone in through the SQL Management Studio, updating all these fields to non-nullable, default value 0. And guess what - when I try to update it, SQL Mgmt studio internally recreates the table and then tries to reinsert all the data into the new table... including the null values! Which of course generates an error, because it's explicitly trying to insert a null value into a non-nullable column. Aaargh! Obviously I could run N update statements of the form: update MyTable set BitField1 = 0 where BitField1 is null update MyTable set BitField2 = 0 where BitField2 is null but as I said before, there are n fields out there, and what's more, this change has to propagate out to several identical databases. Very painful to implement manually. Is there any way to make the table modification just ignore the null values and allow the default rule to kick in when you attempt to insert a null value?

  • Embedded non-relational (nosql) data store

    - by Igor Brejc
I'm thinking about using/implementing some kind of an embedded key-value (or document) store for my Windows desktop application. I want to be able to store various types of data (GPS tracks would be one example) and of course be able to query this data. The amount of data would be such that it couldn't all be loaded into memory at the same time. I'm thinking about using sqlite as a storage engine for a key-value store, something like y-serial, but written in .NET. I've also read about FriendFeed's usage of MySQL to store schema-less data, which is a good pointer on how to use RDBMS for non-relational data. sqlite seems to be a good option because of its simplicity, portability and library size. My question is whether there are any other options for an embedded non-relational store? It doesn't need to be distributable and it doesn't have to support transactions, but it does have to be accessible from .NET and it should have a small download size. UPDATE: I've found an article titled SQLite as a Key-Value Database which compares sqlite with Berkeley DB, which is an embedded key-value store library.

  • RSS feed generated by SharePoint has a stylesheet tag and how to remove that

    - by iHeartDucks
The feed which SharePoint Generates is here (I copied it to pastie because I thought it would be clear there) However, the xml file comes with a style sheet tag. How do I remove that? Does SharePoint always generate that? Due to the presence of that tag, I am unable to apply another style sheet of my own using the XML WebPart. EDIT: I don't think the issue is related to the style sheet. If I copy the xml and paste it in the "Xml Editor" of the Web Part everything works just fine. If I provide the URL, that is when I do not see any data. The correct format should be "Hello \" dog \" " . I would like remove apostrophes from this property. Something Like this. "Hello "dog" ". - "Hello dog ". Here is it original json string which I work. • Does posting data with a textarea automatically add slashes to (escape) the text?

    - by animuson
Ok, so I'm having a problem with a simple textarea. I'm using a kind of hidden page to easily encode some data using JSON. However, all of my text input is automatically being escaped somewhere and I don't know where. All of my $_POST variables are automatically run through the htmlentities() function when the script starts up, as seen below: $ani->i->post = $this->clean($_POST, true); function clean($values, $unset = false) { if (is_array($values)) { foreach ($values as $key => $value) { $newkey = strtolower($key); $return[$newkey] = $this->clean($value); unset($values[$key]); } return $return; } return htmlentities($values); } I keep getting \' for all of my single quotes when I put the value back into the textarea. I can't find anywhere where it would be adding slashes and I don't remember it being a feature that they were automatically added when you submit from a textarea, and if that was so, why would they not be returning back to a single quote when put back into the textarea? Do I really need to run variables through stripslashes() to get them back to their original form? Edit: My 'test.php' file is as follows: <h1>To Be Encoded:</h1> <form action="/test" method="post"> <textarea name="encode" rows="20" cols="50"><?= html_entity_decode($ani->i->post['encode']) ?></textarea> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Encode It!" /> </form> <h1>Encoded By JSON:</h1> <textarea name="encoded" rows="20" cols="50"><?= json_encode(html_entity_decode($ani->i->post['encode'])) ?></textarea> <?php die(); ?> P.S. The die() is just there for compatibility with my framework.

  • Can't get data with spaces into the database from Ajax POST request

    - by J Jones
I have a real simple form with a textbox and a button, and my goal is to have an asynchronous request (jQuery: $.ajax) send the text to the server (PHP/mysql a la Joomla) so that it can be added to a database table. Here's the javascript that is sending the data from the client: var value= $('#myvalue').val(); $.ajax( { type: "POST", url: "/administrator/index.php", data: { option: "com_mycomponent", task: "enterValue", thevalue: value, format: "raw"}, dataType: "text", success: reportSavedValue } ); The problem arises when the user enters text with a space in it. The $_POST variable that I receive has all the spaces stripped out, so that if the user enters "This string has spaces", the server gets the value "Thisstringhasspaces". I have been googling around, and have found lots of references that I need to use encodeURIComponent. So I have tried it, but now the value that I get from $_POST is "This20string20has20spaces". So it appears to be encoding it the way I would expect, only to have the percent signs stripped instead of the spaces, and leaving the hex numbers. I'm really confused. It seems that this sort of question is asked and answered everywhere on the web, and everywhere encodeURIComponent is hailed as the silver bullet. But apparently I'm fighting a different breed of lycanthrope. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    - by Rani
i have an application in which when the user enters his username and password in the login form , his username and password are submitted to the server database for validation and if he is a valid user a tokenid is generated for him through JSON response and he is allowed to log in.this is the JSON response that i get in the console when a valid user log in through the log in form : {"TokenID":"kaenn43otO","isError":false,"ErrorMessage":"","Result":[{"UserId":"164","FirstName":"Indu","LastName":"nair","Email":"[email protected]","ProfileImage":null,"ThumbnailImage":null,"DeviceInfoId":"22"}],"ErrorCode":900} 2011-06-24 11:56:57.639 Journey[5526:207] this is token id:kaenn43otO so when the same user wants to update his profile by clicking on the update tab using the tokenid So that if he want he can his firstname,lastname,password,email.etc.i i have done the following code to update the user profile using tokenid but it does not work.i get tokenid when the user log in and this tokenid i have to pass to other class: this is my code to update user profile: -(void)sendRequest { //this is the class in which i get the tokenid and i am passing it to this class apicontroller *apitest = [[apicontroller alloc]init]; NSString *tokentest = apitest.tokenapi; NSString *post = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Token=%@&firstname=%@&lastname=%@&Username=%@&Password=%@&Email=%@",tokentest,txtfirstName.text,txtlast.text,txtUserName.text,txtPassword.text,txtEmail.text]; NSData *postData = [post dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [postData length]]; NSLog(@"%@",postLength); NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; [request setURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://192.168.0.1:96/JourneyMapperAPI?RequestType=Register&Command=SET"]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setValue:@"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [request setHTTPBody:postData]; NSURLConnection *theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:self]; if (theConnection) { webData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; NSLog(@"%@",webData); [theConnection start]; } else { } } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response { [webData setLength: 0]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [webData appendData:data]; } -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { [connection release]; [webData release]; } -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { NSString *loginStatus = [[NSString alloc] initWithBytes: [webData mutableBytes] length:[webData length] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(@"%@",loginStatus); [loginStatus release]; [connection release]; [webData release]; } -(IBAction)click:(id)sender { [self sendRequest]; } this is my apicontroller.m file in which i am creating login form so that user login and in this page tokenid is generated -(void)sendRequest { UIDevice *device = [UIDevice currentDevice]; NSString *udid = [device uniqueIdentifier]; //NSString *sysname = [device systemName]; NSString *sysver = [device systemVersion]; NSString *model = [device model]; NSLog(@"idis:%@",[device uniqueIdentifier]); NSLog(@"system nameis :%@",[device systemName]); NSLog(@"System version is:%@",[device systemVersion]); NSLog(@"System model is:%@",[device model]); NSLog(@"device orientation is:%d",[device orientation]); NSString *post = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Loginkey=%@&Password=%@&DeviceCode=%@&Firmware=%@&IMEI=%@",txtUserName.text,txtPassword.text,model,sysver,udid]; NSData *postData = [post dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [postData length]]; NSLog(@"%@",postLength); NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; [request setURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://192.168.0.1:96/JourneyMapperAPI?RequestType=Login"]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setValue:@"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [request setHTTPBody:postData]; NSURLConnection *theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:self]; if (theConnection) { webData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; NSLog(@"%@",webData); } else { } } //to select username and password from database. -(void)check { //app.journeyList = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; [self createEditableCopyOfDatabaseIfNeeded]; NSString *filePath = [self getWritableDBPath]; sqlite3 *database; if(sqlite3_open([filePath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { const char *sqlStatement = "SELECT Username,Password FROM UserInformation where Username=? • Change select's class based on selected option's class

    - by Alasdair
I have a page that contains numerous <select> elements. What I'm trying to achieve is to ensure that if a <select>'s selected <option> has a class called italic, then the <select> then has the italic class added (i.e. jQuery.addClass('italic')). If it doesn't, then the italic class is removed from the <select> to ensure other <option> elements are displayed correctly (i.e. jQuery.removeClass('italic')). What I'm noticing with most of my attempts is that either all the <select> have the italic class or that the italic class isn't being removed accordingly. Since I'm unsure my choice in selectors and callback logic are particularly sound or good practice in this instance (as I've been frustratingly trying to make it work) I've decided not to include the code I used in previous attempts. Instead, refer to this small HTML & CSS example: .italic { font-style: italic; } <select id="foo" name="foo" size="1" <option value="NA" selected="selected" - Select - </option <option value="1"Bar</option <option value="2"Fu</option <option value="3"Baz</option </select Also, I am aware that not all browsers support CSS styling of <select> and <option>. The related J2EE web application will only ever be accessed via Firefox under a controlled environment.

  • How do You Center a TextView in Layout?

    - by Ken
    I have a complex layout, part of which features a value centered over a label, with + and - buttons on either side of the value. I want the value to center between the buttons, whether it is "1" or "99". It looks fine when it's a 2-digit number like "99", but when it's a single digit the number is left-justified. How do I properly center that value? Here's the portion of my layout that does this: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_above="@id/runway_label" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:orientation="horizontal"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/dec_runway_button" android:src="@drawable/minus_button" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/runway_value" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textColor="#FFFFFF" android:textStyle="bold" android:textSize="40.0sp" android:minWidth="50sp" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:layout_gravity="center" android:shadowColor="#333333" android:shadowDx="2.0" android:shadowDy="2.0" android:shadowRadius="3.0" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/inc_runway_button" android:src="@drawable/plus_button" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"/> </LinearLayout>

  • Replacing text inside textarea without focus
