  • Split a table in Word without losing row title

    Word has the feature to repeat title row of a table when a table is so long that it spans a bunch of pages. I need to categorize my data into several pages, and I did that by splitting the table and insert page split to put them all in a page of itself. So now I got several page of data, but only the first page has title row. Is there anyway else to do this beside manually adding the title row to all the other pages?     As the title says, how can I recursively copy a directory structure but only include some files. E.g given the following directory structure: folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt abc.xyz folder4 folder5 data.zip somefile.exe someotherfile.dll The files data.zip and info.txt can appear everywhere in the directory structure. How can I copy the full directory structure, but only include files named data.zip and info.txt (all other files should be ignored)? The resulting directory structure should look like this: copy_of_folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt folder4 folder5 data.zip

    Hi All, I have a string say string s ="C:\\Data" , I have an array which contains some strings containg "C:\Data" in the beginning i.e. string[] arr = new {"C:\\Data\abc.xml","C:\\Data\Test\hello.cs"};. I have to remove the string "C:\Data" from each entry and have to combine it with another string say string fixed = "D:\\Data". What is the best way to do it, please help as I am a new programmer in C#.

  • In Emacs, how can I use imenu more sensibly with C#?

    I've used emacs for a long time, but I haven't been keeping up with a bunch of features. One of these is speedbar, which I just briefly investigated now. Another is imenu. Both of these were mentioned in in-emacs-how-can-i-jump-between-functions-in-the-current-file? Using imenu, I can jump to particular methods in the module I'm working in. But there is a parse hierarchy that I have to negotiate before I get the option to choose (with autocomplete) the method name. It goes like this. I type M-x imenu and then I get to choose Using or Types. The Using choice allows me to jump to any of the using statements at the top level of the C# file (something like imports statements in a Java module, for those of you who don't know C#). Not super helpful. I choose Types. Then I have to choose a namespace and a class, even though there is just one of each in the source module. At that point I can choose between variables, types, and methods. If I choose methods I finally get the list of methods to choose from. The hierarchy I traverse looks like this; Using Types Namespace Class Types Variables Methods method names Only after I get to the 5th level do I get to select the thing I really want to jump to: a particular method. Imenu seems intelligent about the source module, but kind of hard to use. Am I doing it wrong?

  • How to send data after form has been validated using jQuery?

    I have a simple email address sign up form as follows: <form action="" id="newsletterform" method="get"> <input type="text" name="email" class="required email" id="textnewsletter" /> <input type="submit" id="signup" /> </form> Here's what I want to be able to do: Validate the form to look for an empty string or a incorrectly filled out email address one the user clicks submit or hits enter. If one of the above happens (empty string etc), I would like to generate an error to let the user know. Then once the user fills out a correctly formed email address and hits submit (or enter) I want the form to send the email address to wherever I specify in the jQuery code and then generate a little "Thank you for signing up notice", all without reloading the browser. I have looked at too many tutorials and my eyes are pretty much aching at this stage, so please don't point me to any urls (I most likely have been there). If someone could provide a barebone outline of what to do It would be so much appreciated.

It works, but I am not sure if this is the best way, and I could not googled up useful tutorials on this.     I have a php/flex value object that I am using to transmit data to/from in my application. Everything works great php-flex, but I am having an issue with flex-php. In my MergeTemplateService.php service I have the following code. This is the method that flex hits directly: function updateTemplate($valueObject){ $object = DAOFactory::getMergeTemplateDAO()->update($valueObject); return $object; } I am passing a value object that from flex looks like this: (com.rottmanj.vo::MergeTemplateVO)#0 communityID = 0 creationDate = (null) enterpriseID = 0 lastModifyDate = (null) templateID = 2 templateName = "My New Test Template" userID = 0 The issue I am having is that my updateTemplate method sees the value object as an array and not an object.     Using Command rsync -avzP --delete --omit-dir-times ../../ [email protected]:/var/www/mysite/ I'm getting rsync: mkstemp "/var/www/mysite/.." failed: Permission denied (13) If ext is in the www-data group should I still set all the files to be owned by user www-data? I am trying to publish the files with rsync and then set the permissions using sudo chown -R www-data doc sudo chgrp -R www-data doc but I can't even rsync because of the permission denied.   • Ruby and jQuery -- $(document).ajaxSend() not modifying the params as expected

    I cannot get jquery's ajaxSend (http://api.jquery.com/ajaxSend/) to properly modify the parameters. However, random and _method (both needed for IE issues) do not get set. Logging settings inside ajaxSend shows me that they are set to settings.data: "remote=1&authenticity_token=6GA9R_snip_253D&random=1270584905846&_method=get" but when it gets sent across the wire, I only have the following: authenticity_token 6GA9R_snip_253D remote 1 Why in the world is this not working?

    Is there a way to embed multiple dependent assemblies into a single one for projects written on the following platform types: Windows Store Apps, Windows Phone 8, Portable Class Library? I know that for regular .Net projects there is ILMerge, but on the aforementioned project types it doesn't work. Embedding assemblies as resources and then manually resolving the references using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyResolve is not possible either, since AppDomain is not available in these types of project.

    I'm not sure how long this issue has been happening, but recently a few of the remote sales users were going to a sales meeting and wanted to set their Out of Office... however in Outlook 2010, they get this error message: "Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable" When I run the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer, Autodiscover completes fine, but the next step fails: Exception details: Message: The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.     Hmm, the title was harder to formulate than I thought. Basically, I've got these simple classes mapped to tables, using SQLAlchemy. I know they're missing a few items but those aren't essential for highlighting the problem. class Customer(object): def __init__(self, uid, name, email): self.uid = uid self.name = name self.email = email def __repr__(self): return str(self) def __str__(self): return "Cust: %s, Name: %s (Email: %s)" %(self.uid, self.name, self.email) The above is basically a simple customer with an id, name and an email address. class Order(object): def __init__(self, item_id, item_name, customer): self.item_id = item_id self.item_name = item_name self.customer = None def __repr__(self): return str(self) def __str__(self): return "Item ID %s: %s, has been ordered by customer no. %s" %(self.item_id, self.item_name, self.customer) This is the Orders class that just holds the order information: an id, a name and a reference to a customer. It's initialised to None to indicate that this item doesn't have a customer yet. The code's job will assign the item a customer. Since Process 1 read value of d['blah'] saves it on the stack increments it and again writes it. In Between a Process 2 can read the d['blah'] as well. Locking means that while d['blah'] is being written or read no other process can access it. Can someone clarify my doubts?

  • Pattern for version-specific implementations of a Java class

    So here's my conundrum. I am programming a tool that needs to work on old versions of our application. I have the code to the application, but can not alter any of the classes. To pull information out of our database, I have a DTO of sorts that is populated by Hibernate. It consumes a data object for version 1.0 of our app, cleverly named DataObject. Below is the DTO class. public class MyDTO { private MyWrapperClass wrapper; public MyDTO(DataObject data) { wrapper = new MyWrapperClass(data); } } The DTO is instantiated through a Hibernate query as follows: select new com.foo.bar.MyDTO(t1.data) from mytable t1 Now, a little logic is needed on top of the data object, so I made a wrapper class for it. Note the DTO stores an instance of the wrapper class, not the original data object. public class MyWrapperClass { private DataObject data; public MyWrapperClass(DataObject data) { this.data = data; } public String doSomethingImportant() { ... version-specific logic ... } } This works well until I need to work on version 2.0 of our application. Now DataObject in the two versions are very similar, but not the same. This resulted in different sub classes of MyWrapperClass, which implement their own version-specific doSomethingImportant(). Still doing okay. But how does myDTO instantiate the appropriate version-specific MyWrapperClass? Hibernate is in turn instantiating MyDTO, so it's not like I can @Autowire a dependency in Spring. I would love to reuse MyDTO (and my dozens of other DTOs) for both versions of the tool, without having to duplicate the class. Don't repeat yourself, and all that. I'm sure there's a very simple pattern I'm missing that would help this. Any suggestions?

  • How do you share pre-calculated data between calls to a Rails web service?

    I have a Rails app that allows users to build up a network structure and then ask questions about how to navigate around it. When adding nodes and connections these are just saved to the database. At the point you make a query of the network I calculate the shortest path from any node to any other node. Constructing this in memory takes a while (something I need to fix), but once it is there, you can instantly get the answer to any of these path questions. The question is... How do I share this network between calls to the website, so each request doesn't regenerate the paths network each time? Note: I am hosting this on apache server using passenger (mod ruby) Thoughts?
