  Hi, i'have two Listbox. the think is i do the transfert like : click on field in the left listbox, hit "move right" button and it wll display in the right list box.' The other think it's the first Listbox is bind on Dataset and the second on Entity (Linq-to sql). • MVC Areas - View not found

  Hi, I have a project that is using MVC areas. The area has the entire project in it while the main "Views/Controllers/Models" folders outside the Areas are empty barring a dispatch controller I have setup that routes default incoming requests to the Home Controller in my area. This controller has one method as follows:- public ActionResult Index(string id) { return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home", new {area = "xyz"}); } I also have a default route setup to use this controller as follows:- routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Default route "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Dispatch", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); Any default requests to my site are appropriately routed to the relevant area. The Area's "RegisterArea" method has a single route:- context.MapRoute( "xyz_default", "xyz/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } My area has multiple controllers with a lot of views. Any call to a specific view in these controller methods like "return View("blah"); renders the correct view. However whenever I try and return a view along with a model object passed in as a parameter I get the following error:- Server Error in '/DeveloperPortal' Application. The view 'blah' or its master was not found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/Profile/blah.aspx ~/Views/Profile/blah.ascx ~/Views/Shared/blah.aspx ~/Views/Shared/blah.ascx It looks like whenever a model object is passed in as a param. to the "View()" method [e.g. return View("blah",obj) ] it searches for the view in the root of the project instead of in the area specific view folder. • ASP MVC 2: Error with dropdownlist on POST

  Okay i'm new to asp mvc2 and i'm experiencing some problems with the htmlhelper called Html.dropdownlistfor(); I want to present the user a list of days in the week. And i want the selected item to be bound to my model. I have created this little class to generate a list of days + a short notation which i will use to store it in the database. public static class days { public static List<Day> getDayList() { List<Day> daylist = new List<Day>(); daylist.Add(new Day("Monday", "MO")); daylist.Add(new Day("Tuesday", "TU")); // I left the other days out return daylist; } public class Dag{ public string DayName{ get; set; } public string DayShortName { get; set; } public Dag(string name, string shortname) { this.DayName= name; this.DayShortName = shortname; } } } I really have now idea if this is the correct way to do it Then i putted this in my controller: SelectList _list = new SelectList(Days.getDayList(), "DayShortName", "DayName"); ViewData["days"] = _list; return View(""); I have this line in my model public string ChosenDay { get; set; } And this in my view to display the list: <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.ChosenDay, ViewData["days"] as SelectList, "--choose Day--")%> </div> Now this all works perfect. On the first visit, But then when i'm doing a [HttpPost] Which looks like the following: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Registreer(EventRegistreerViewModel model) { // I removed some unrelated code here // The code below executes when modelstate.isvalid == false SelectList _list = new SelectList(Days.getDayList(), "DayShortName", "DayName"); ViewData["days"] = _list; return View(model); } Then i will have the following exception thrown: The ViewData item that has the key 'ChosenDay' is of type 'System.String' but must be of type 'IEnumerable<SelectListItem>'. This errors gets thrown at the line in my view where i display the dropdown list. I really have no idea how to solve this and tried several solutions i found online. but none of them really worked.   I have a local collection of recordId's (integers). I need to retrieve records that have every one of their child records' ids in that local collection. Here is my query: public List<int> OwnerIds { get; private set; } ... filteredPatches = from p in filteredPatches where OwnerIds.All(o => p.PatchesOwners.Select(x => x.OwnerId).Contains(o)) select p; I am getting this error: Local sequence cannot be used in Linq to SQL implementation of query operators except the Contains() operator. I get that .All() isn't supported by Linq to SQL, but is there a way to do what I am trying to do?

• Google Federated Login vs Hybrid Protocol vs Google Data Authentication. Whats's the Difference?

  Hi, I am trying to implement Google Authentication in my website, in which I would also be pulling some Google Data using the Google Data API and I am using Google App Engine with Jinja2. My question is, so many ways are mentioned to do it. I am confused between Google Federated Login,Google Data Protocol, Hybrid Protocol. Are these things the same or different ways to do the same thing. From what I read and understood, which might be incorrect, Google Federated Login uses the hybrid protocol to authenticate and fetch the google data. Is there a proper guide to implement any one of these in python. Examples which I found at the google link are kind of different. From what I understood,correct me if i am wrong, I have to implement only the OpenID Consumer part. In order to implement Google Federated Login in Python, I saw that we need to download a separate library from the openid-enabled.com but I found a different library for the google data implementation at http://code.google.com/p/gdata-python-client/ As you can see, I am confused a lot :D. • Need to change the default browser for an MVC2 project

  I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS). Unfortunately, the "right click on default.aspx" suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file. I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple... Thanks.

• JQuery, ASCX and webmethods not seems to be working

  Hi all, I have a cascading dropdown (3 of them) Type, Categories and Sub Categories. Type loads first and upon selection of Type, Category load and selection of Category, Sub Category loads. Also i have 2 buttons, "Add Category" and "Add Sub Category" Upon clicking on these buttons, i call a JQuery Modal Form to add them. I use Webmethod in code behind to add them to database This works perfectly in ASPX page. Since I need use this in 3-4 pages, i thought of making the above as User control (ASCX). When i try to use this in a webpage, the webmethods in ASCX don't get called. Is my approach correct? what should be done for my scenario lOoking forward for your suggestions.
