  From wikipedia: The Web Services Description Language (WSDL, pronounced 'wiz-d?l') is an XML-based language that provides a model for describing Web services. But in most cases, I found that WSDL is used in conjunction with SOAP. but as far as I know, if the WSDL is a language to describe web services. there should be possible to describe another kind of web services different from SOAP. is this possible? any examples?   I'm trying to wire together Guice (Java), Quartz scheduler and iBatis (iBaGuice) to do the following: Start command line utility-scanner using main() Periodically scan directory (provided as argument) for files containing formatted output (XML or YAML) When file is detected, parse and output result to the database The problems: I used this example to wire Guice and Quartz. However I'm missing some important details which I'm asking in the comments but the post is somewhat dated so I'm quoting it here also: It's not obvious how to set-up the scheduler. Where and how would I wire the Trigger (I can use Trigger#makeMinutelyTrigger)? I really have just one type of job I will be executing, I understand that details in the JobFactory#newJob are coming from the TriggerFiredBundle parameter but where/how do I wire that? And where/how do I create or wire concrete Job?

• Variable 'app' in url-pattern for servlet mapping

  I'm learning Spring MVC (and servlets in general) and following springsource's mvc-ajax example, which uses annotated controller methods. It appears that there is only one url-pattern (in web.xml) mapped to a servlet in that example: /app/* I've deployed the app as a WAR file, and the actual, ugly URL I'm requesting is http://127.0.0.1:8080/org.springframework.samples.mvc.ajax-1.0.0-20100407.233245-1/account. So, it appears that 'app' in '/app/*' is a variable corresponding to 'org.springframework.samples.mvc.ajax-1.0.0-20100407.233245-1', however, it isn't universal because it isn't usable in my own app, and it contradicts my understanding that url-pattern contains the portion of the URL after the app name. So, what is 'app'? Where is it configured?

  In the system which I'm currently developing I often have to navigate an object tree and based on its state and values take actions. In normal Java this results in tedious for loops, if statements etc... Are there alternative ways to achieve tree navigation, similar to XPath for XML? I know there is JXPath and OGNL, but do you know any other libraries for such purpose? Do you know any libraries which generate bytecodes for specific tree navigation expressions to make the processing as fast as Java native fors and ifs?

  I want to use the #! token to make my GWT application crawlable, as described here: http://code.google.com/web/ajaxcrawling/ There is a GWT sample app available online that uses this, for example: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html#!CwRadioButton Will serve the following static webpage to the googlebot: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html?_escaped_fragment_=CwRadioButton I want my GWT app to do something similar. In short, I'd like to serve a different flavor of the page whenever the _escaped_fragment_ parameter is found in the URL. What should I modify in order for the server to serve something else (a static page, or a page dynamically generated through a headless browser like HTML Unit)? I'm guessing it could be the web.xml file, but I'm not sure. (Note: I thought of checking the Showcase app provided with the GWT SDK, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support serving static files on _escaped_fragment_ and it doesn't use the #! token..)

  I have two customers that have the same workflow (Create file -transport file - wait for response - send response to internal team); however the implementation of each step is different for each customer. For example, one customer requires a flat file to be sent via SFTP, while the other customer requires an XML file to be sent via FTP. I'd like to create a sequential workflow, using Microsoft Workflow Foundation (WF) and reuse this workflow for multiple vendors. Each action's call to an external module can use the same interface, but a different concrete implementation. However, I'm unfamiliar with WF and I'm not sure how to implement this. Can someone point me to the proper way to use this pattern? Will it make a difference whether I choose WF 3.5 or WF 4.0? Thank you.

  How do I get around Inconsistant accessibilty error in C # ? I need to pass a pointer to a node in a linked list to a method. When I do, I get a "Compiler Error CS0051" Example The following sample generates CS0051: Copy Code // CS0051.cs public class A { // Try making B public since F is public // B is implicitly private here class B { } public static void F(B b) // CS0051 { } public static void Main() { } } That is a simple example. The actual program is a bit more complicated. I am actually using a node in a linked list to pass to the method LinkedListNode node The method uses recursion because the node is mart of a huge linked list structure of linked lists that outputs an xml file. Either I have to find a way to use recursion without using methods or I need to find a way to pass pointers nodes or actual nodes.

I went to Tools Options Environment Add-In/Macro Security, checked some paths put the AddIn files in a couple of these directoryies, restart VS2010 but still no luck!

• SSMS Results to Grid - CRLF not preserved in copy/paste - any better techniques?

  When I have a result set in the grid like: SELECT 'line 1 line 2 line 3' or SELECT 'line 1' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 2' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 3' With embedded CRLF, the display in the grid appears to replace them with spaces (I guess so that they will display all the data). The problem is that if I am code-generating a script, I cannot simply cut and paste this. I have to convert the code to open a cursor and print the relevant columns so that I can copy and paste them from the text results. Is there any simpler workaround to preserve the CRLF in a copy/paste operation from the results grid? The reason that the grid is helpful is that I am currently generating a number of scripts for the same object in different columns - a bcp out in one column, an xml format file in another, a table create script in another, etc...

  I am trying to copy a file using the following code: File targetFile = new File(targetPath + File.separator + filename); ... targetFile.createNewFile(); fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(fileToCopy); fileOutputStream = new FileOutputStream(targetFile); byte[] buffer = new byte[64*1024]; int i = 0; while((i = fileInputStream.read(buffer)) != -1) { fileOutputStream.write(buffer, 0, i); } For some users the targetFile.createNewFile results in this exception: java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method) at java.io.File.createNewFile(File.java:850) Filename and directory name seem to be correct. The directory targetPath is even checked for existence before the copy code is executed and the filename looks like this: AB_timestamp.xml The user has write permissions to the targetPath and can copy the file without problems using the OS. As I don't have access to a machine this happens on yet and can't reproduce the problem on my own machine I turn to you for hints on the reason for this exception.

I added some php code to my HEADER.html (which is in the root directory / ), I am trying to add to htaccess: AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .php .htm This not working, I think because the HEADER.html is in the root. If I try add the AddType... to the /.htaccess (and not to the /stackoverflow/.htaccess) it is overwriting my /stackoverflow/.htaccess rules. Why? How I can add AddType rule to my /stackoverflow/.htaccess to Apache parse html file as php file?

  I'm getting the following error when trying to deploy a ZIP file to a remote FTP server. I tried connecting to the server using an FTP client (filezilla) and all goes well. Also, when connecting to a public ftp like ftp.belnet.be connections work fine. I'm trying to send the file to a VSFTPD server behind a router using port forwarding. Again, this works fine from any location using Filezilla, phing is not connecting though... • Using IvyDE with different workspaces on different branches

  I am having problems using IvyDE when I have different workspaces for different branches. I have "Resolve dependencies in workspace" switched on. But everytime I change to a different workspace I have to remember to manually clean the caches out. This is because IvyDE always uses the default cache for resolving dependencies within a workspace, so when switching between workspaces the cache can be polluted by different versions. It would seem that it is impossible to work with two different workspaces at the same time. I cannot find a way to configure the location that IvyDE uses to cache the project dependencies. It does not appear to use the caches defined in the ivysettings.xml

  Hello, This is my messages_en_US.properties file in WEB-INF/classes folder :- Login=Login And then i created messages_fr_FR.properties :- Login=frenchLogin Then in my JSF page i wrote this :- <f:loadBundle basename="messages" var="msg"/> <h:commandButton id="btnLogin" value="#{msg.Login}" actionListener="#{IndexBean.doLogin}"/> I can correctly see the Login text by default. But when i go in firefox and change my default language to fr-fr, my text still remains the same i.e i can't see frenchLogin. I don't have anything in my faces-config.xml What am i doing wrong? • How to have onSearchRequested not open a web browser.

  I have a button in my app. When it is pressed I call the onSearchRequested() method. When this is called the stock search box comes up so the user can type some junk in there. When they press "Go" I need the results returned back to my application but instead the stock browser is opened and a google search is performed. How can I tell it to return the results to my application instead. • WCF: parameters handled in custom channel not present in generated WSDL.

  I have some special parameters to all my wcf service methods that are handled inside a custom channel and are not exposed in the service method parameter list. This works fine for json/xml endpoints, but the I don't know how to use a SOAP endpoint with this setup because the generated WSDL doesn't include fields that are not in the service call parameter list. Is there a way I can centralize the handling of the special parameters that apply to all service methods (authentication, locale and other contextual information) and provide a SOAP endpoint that Just Works (tm)? Hand editing wsdl files is not an option.

• Is there a Java API for creating a XHTML document?

  I want to provide a simple XHTML representation of each of the resources in a REST web service. At the moment i'm using a StringBuilder to generate these which is both tedious and error prone. I don't see these changing after I publish the service but the process of coding each is a bit painful. Is there a XHTML document writer api? Should I just use an XML writer? Which one? Should I just roll my own basic HTML document class - doctype is the same each time, i just need to set the title, metatags and body content, most of which (but not all content) is already in HTML for the GETs. Or should I just use StringBuilder and stop whining? ;) Thanks.

  Trying to digest docs about design Multiple resolutions (http://d.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html#dips-pels) I found that it is possible to set dimensions of my interface elements in XML layouts using DIPs as in following fragment : "android:layout_width="10dip" But all Java interface takes integer as arguments and there is no way to specify dimensions in DIPs. What is the correct way to calculate this ? I figured that I have to use property density of DisplayMetrics class but is this a correct way ? May I relly that formula : pixels * DisplayMetrics.density = dip is always correct ? Will there be API in DIPs for Java ?
