  • Java - Is Set.contains() broken on OpenJDK 6?

    Hey, I've come across a really strange problem. I have written a simple Deck class which represents a standard 52 card deck of playing cards. The class has a method missingCards() which returns the set of all cards which have been drawn from the deck. If I try and compare two identical sets of missing cards using .equals() I'm told they are different, and if I check to see if a set contains an element that I know is there using .contains() I am returned false. Here is my test code: public void testMissingCards() { Deck deck = new Deck(true); Set<Card> drawnCards = new HashSet<Card>(); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); Set<Card> missingCards = deck.missingCards(); System.out.println(drawnCards); System.out.println(missingCards); Card c1 = null; for (Card c : drawnCards){ c1 = c; } System.out.println("C1 is "+c1); for (Card c : missingCards){ System.out.println("C is "+c); System.out.println("Does c1.equal(c) "+c1.equals(c)); System.out.println("Does c.equal(c1) "+c.equals(c1)); } System.out.println("Is c1 in missingCards "+missingCards.contains(c1)); assertEquals("Deck confirm missing cards",drawnCards,missingCards); } (Edit: Just for clarity I added the two loops after I noticed the test failing. The first loop pulls out a card from drawnCards and then this card is checked against every card in missingCards - it always matches one, so that card must be contained in missingCards.     Hello, I have a test class that has a @Resource annotation for a setter and I need to make it Java 1.4 compliant, so obviously the annotation has to go. I'm using Spring. So, how would I replace something like @Resource("my.resource") so that the setter gets the correct dependency injection? Would I need to make a bean in an xml file? I'm pretty new to this so if I'm not providing enough information, let me know.

    Hi, I am trying to remove text that is within parentheses (along with the parentheses themselves) but am having trouble with the scenario where there are parentheses within parentheses. This is the method I am using (in Ruby): sentence.gsub(/\(.*?\)/, "") and that works fine until I have a sentence such as: "This is (a test (string))" Then the above chokes. Anyone have any idea how to do this? I am completely stumped.

    I hate generating an exception for things that I can simply test with an if statement. I know that a zero length zip/jar will trigger an exception if you try to access it using the java.util.zip/java.util.jar APIs. So, it seems like there should be a smallest file that these utility APIs are capable of working with.

I search all the web i still got no luck. Since I have dedicated server I also tried to implement some procmail+ postfix examples but also no luck. Can someone help?

  • node.js and jsdom - no way to detect that an http 500 error was returned?

    I'm using jsdom with node.js and I'm trying to get it to provide me with some indication that an http error has occurred. I've set up a test server that simply returns an http 500 header for all requests, but when I attempt to load it with jsdom, jsdom doesn't throw any error and doesn't seem to provide me with any information that would identify that an http 500 error was returned. What's the best way to detect an http 500 error?

    Hello! I have a local phpMyAdmin (installed via apt-get) adn I'm tired of entering login and password every time I try to open it. Database contains no sensitive info, just test tables, and is visible only from 127.0.0.1 I want phpMyAdmin already be logged in as root user with password 1234 (for example) when I open it. How do I do that? P.S. Saving password in a browser is not what I want.

  • Memory Allocation Error in MySQL

    I am using MySql ODBC driver with .Net 3.5. I have created a stored procedure in MySQl which accepts around 15 parameters with types like datetime, varchar, Int32, Int64 etc.. When I run the SP from the query window with the arguments provided, it runs fine. But whwn I test using the .Net application, it gives exception with "Memory allocation error", MySQL native error code is 4001. Any help will be much appreciated.
