• Changing Windows 7 pinned taskbar icons

  I have changed the icons on the shortcuts in the folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar. I have tried logging off and back on, and rebooting, but the icons remain the same. Am I doing it wrong?

  Hello, I am using windows 7 and here is my question : Is there a way for windows to swtich my audio output to HDMI automatically when a HDMI cable is plugged in ? Right now, to switch the audio output I need to go specify my default output to HDMI everytime I plug it in and set it back to speakers once I plug it out. Cheers !

• Installing Windows 8 on SSD

  I'm trying to install Windows 8 (CP) on a 2nd SSD that I have (the 1st SSD has Windows 7). I boot into the installation from a usb stick, select the SSD, and launch the installation. When the computer goes to reboot during the install process, it keeps going back into the usb stick or my Windows 7 installation. It never recognizes the installation on the 2nd SSD. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

  My laptop (Compaq Presario V3000) does not have bluetooth. Few months back I bought a bluetooth dongle to connect to my cell phone. One fine day the bluetooth dongle got damaged. Now I also have this wireless mouse (Logitech M215), which also has a teeny-weeny dongle. What I am trying to figure out is, whether I can use the wireless mouse dongle to somehow connect to my cell-phone. Is it possible??? Pls help DMX

• Why does my computer restart immediately after I shut it down?

  After I shut down my computer it automatically starts up again. I've tried re-installing Windows 7 64-bit, resetting my BIOS, installing the newest drivers and also changing the boot and recovery settings. The motherboard I have is a MSI P67A-GD65 (B3), and the processor is a Intel Core i7-2600K. How can I shut down my computer and have it stay off? Also, what is causing it to immediately boot back up?

• speakers muted automatically for some reason

  i have this weird problem that i'm not sure is specific to me, but more of a windows 7 or Lenovo laptop, so any help would be appreciable. the problem is as follows: Whenever i use skype, msn or any other thing that make noise, the speakers are muted automatically and i need to press the mute/unmute button to re-enable the sound. Does anyone know what can i do to disable windows 7 from doing it? Thanks.

  The folder pane in Thunderbird used to have a left and right arrow that allowed switching between the folders displayed. However, since a week or so, the arrows are gone (update? miss-clicked something?) As I use them several times a day: how can I get the arrows back? I have Thunderbird 8.0. T IP Traffic to the internet and internally is relatively stable, but the in-house application has been buggy, and dropping connections. I often use 3 to 5 pixel to make it easy to grab on hi-resolutions displays and hi DPI monitors. There doesn't seem to be an easy or obvious way to do this with the Gnome X-Windowing system? Does any one know how?

• Moving a game in windowed mode that can't be dragged by the title bar.

  I have Fallout Collection and I am trying to run it windowed because of the low resolution. When I change the mode to windowed via the .ini file, however, it boots the game window shoved into the upper left corner of my screen. I can't click the title bar of the window because it just clicks back into the game program. So how can I move it to the center of my screen? I am using Windows 7 professional 64-bit.

And how can I get 1GB of RAM back?

• raid 0 failure, drives look fine

  Hello, after a lovely blue screen my vista 64 machine decided to reconfigure one of my drives to no longer be part of my raid volume. So now my raid fails as it only has one member disk. This happened to me about 6 months ago and I just changed the disk in question back to a raid disk and all was well. However I cant seem to find that option in my bios or raid config anymore :( Any help would be appreciated
