  • Spring / Hibernate / JUnit - No Hibernate Session bound to Thread

    - by Marty Pitt
    Hi I'm trying to access the current hibernate session in a test case, and getting the following error: org.hibernate.HibernateException: No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SpringSessionContext.currentSession(SpringSessionContext.java:63) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl.getCurrentSession(SessionFactoryImpl.java:574) I've clearly missed some sort of setup, but not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first crack at Hibernate / Spring etc, and the learning curve is certainly steep! Regards Marty Code follows: The offending class: public class DbUnitUtil extends BaseDALTest { @Test public void exportDtd() throws Exception { Session session = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); Connection hsqldbConnection = session.connection(); IDatabaseConnection connection = new DatabaseConnection(hsqldbConnection); // write DTD file FlatDtdDataSet.write(connection.createDataSet(), new FileOutputStream("test.dtd")); } } Base class: @RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class) @ContextConfiguration(locations={"classpath:applicationContext.xml"}) public class BaseDALTest extends AbstractJUnit4SpringContextTests { public BaseDALTest() { super(); } @Resource protected SessionFactory sessionFactory; } applicationContext.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans.xsd"> <bean id="dataSource" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource"> <property name="driverClassName"> <value>org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver</value> </property> <property name="url"> <value>jdbc:hsqldb:mem:sample</value> </property> <property name="username"> <value>sa</value> </property> <property name="password"> <value></value> </property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="com.foo.spring.AutoAnnotationSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource" /> <property name="entityPackages"> <list> <value>com.sample.model</value> </list> </property> <property name="schemaUpdate"> <value>true</value> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.HSQLDialect </prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> </props> </property> </bean> </beans>

  • Asp.net mvc application deployment / security issues

    - by WestDiscGolf
    I'll start with appologies; I wasn't sure if this was best posted here of Server Fault so if its in the wrong place then please move :-) Basic information I have written the first module of a new application at work. This is written using Visual Studio 2010, targetting .net 3.5 (at the moment) and asp.net mvc 2. This has been working fine during development running on the built in Development server from VS but however does not work once deployed to IIS 7/7.5. To deploy the application, I have built it in release mode and created a deployment package by right clicking on the project in the solution explorer (this will be done with an automated build in tfs once upgrade from the beta). This has then been imported into IIS on the server. The application is using windows/domain authentication. Issue #1 I can fire up internet explorer and browse to the application from a client computer as well as on a remote desktop connection. I can execute the code which reads/stores data in Session fine from the IE instance on the remote desktop but if I browse to it from the client pc it seems to lose the session state. I click on the form submit and the page refreshes and doesn't execute the required code. I've tried setting with; InProc, SQLServer and StateServer. but with no luck :-( Issue #2 As part of the application it views PDF and Tiff documents on the fly which are on a network share on the office network and creates thumbnails if the document hasn't been viewed before. This works if running on the machine the application is deployed to; however when browsing from a client pc I get an error saying: Access to the path '\\fileserver\folder\file.tif' is denied Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\fileserver\folder\file.TIF' is denied. ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via , the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user. As this is on a different server the user is not accessible. To get round this I have tried: 1 - setting the application pool to run as domain administrator (I know this is a security risk, but I'm just trying to get it to work at the moment!) 2 - to set the log on account for World Wide Web Publishing service to be the domain admin . When trying to restart the service I get ... Windows could not start the World Wide Web Publishing Service service on the Local Computer. Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified fro the other services running in the same process. Any pointers/help would be much appriciated as I'm pulling my hair out (of what little I have left). Update I've been using this funky little tool I found - DelegConfig v2 beta (Delegation / Kerberos Configuration Tool). This has been really usefull. So I've got the accessing of the file share working (there is a test page which will read the files) so now I've just got the issue of passing through the users credentials through to the SQL Server (wans't my choice to do it this way!!) to execute the queries etc. but I can't get it to log on as the user. It tries to access it as "NT Authority\Network Service" which doesn't have a sql login (as should be the logged on user). My connection string is: <add name="User" connectionString="Data Source=.;Integrated Security=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> No initial catalog is specified as the system is over multiple dbs (also wasn't my choice!!). I really appriciate all the help so far! :-) Any further hints?!

  • Maven/TestNG reports "Failures: 0" but then "There are test failures.", what's wrong?

  • XNA: Load and read a XML file?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm having difficulty doing this seemingly simple task. I want to load XML files with the same ease of loading art assets: content = new ContentManager(Services); content.RootDirectory = "Content"; background = content.Load<Texture2D>("images\\ice"); I'm not sure how to do this. This tutorial seems helpful, but how do I get a StorageDevice instance? I do have something working now, but it feels pretty hacky: public IDictionary<string, string> Get(string typeName) { IDictionary<String, String> result = new Dictionary<String, String>(); xmlReader.Read(); // get past the XML declaration string element = null; string text = null; while (xmlReader.Read()) { switch (xmlReader.NodeType) { case XmlNodeType.Element: element = xmlReader.Name; break; case XmlNodeType.Text: text = xmlReader.Value; break; } if (text != null && element != null) { result[element] = text; text = null; element = null; } } return result; } I apply this to the following XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <zombies> <zombie> <health>100</health> <positionX>23</positionX> <positionY>12</positionY> <speed>2</speed> </zombie> </zombies> And it is able to pass this unit test: internal virtual IPersistentState CreateIPersistentState(string fullpath) { IPersistentState target = new ReadWriteXML(File.Open(fullpath, FileMode.Open)); return target; } /// <summary> ///A test for Get with one zombie. ///</summary> //[TestMethod()] public void SimpleGetTest() { string fullPath = "C:\\pathTo\\Data\\SavedZombies.xml"; IPersistentState target = CreateIPersistentState(fullPath); string typeName = "zombie"; IDictionary<string, string> expected = new Dictionary<string, string>(); expected["health"] = "100"; expected["positionX"] = "23"; expected["positionY"] = "12"; expected["speed"] = "2"; IDictionary<string, string> actual = target.Get(typeName); foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> entry in expected) { Assert.AreEqual(entry.Value, expected[entry.Key]); } } Downsides to the current approach: file loading is done poorly, and matching keys to values seems like it's way more effort than necessary. Also, I suspect this approach would fall apart with more than one entry in the XML.

  • Grails validation problems with sets of data: only getting one error message for all errors in a set

    - by Matt
    Hi, I'm trying to validate a domain class that has a number of subsets. class IebeUser { ... static hasMany = [openUserAnswers:OpenUserAnswer, closedUserAnswers:ClosedUserAnswer] } class OpenUserAnswer { OpenQuestion openQuestion String text static belongsTo = [user:IebeUser] static constraints = { openQuestion(nullable:false) text(blank:false) } } class ClosedUserAnswer { ClosedQuestion closedQuestion ClosedAnswer answer static belongsTo = [user:IebeUser] static constraints = { closedQuestion(nullable:false) answer(nullable:false) } } A closed question has a set of predefined answers and an open question lets the user enter a freeform answer. All is well until I come to validate the object after entry in a form: params: [closedUserAnswers[0].answer.id:, closedUserAnswers[0]:[answer:[id:], answer.id:], password:dfgdfgdf, openUserAnswers[0].text:gdfgdfgdfg, openUserAnswers[0]:[text:gdfgdfgdfg], _isOptedOut:, create:Continue, username:gdfgdfggdf, email:[email protected], closedUserAnswers[1].answer.id:, closedUserAnswers[1]:[answer:[id:], answer.id:], openUserAnswers[1].text:, openUserAnswers[1]:[text:], firstName:dfgdf, lastName:gdfgdfgd, action:save, controller:main] The key bits being: closedUserAnswers[0].answer.id:, closedUserAnswers[0]:[answer:[id:] closedUserAnswers[1].answer.id:, closedUserAnswers[1]:[answer:[id:] openUserAnswers[1].text:, openUserAnswers[1]:[text:] In my tests I have two objects of type closedUserAnswers and two of openUserAnswers. But when I call validation on IebeUser I only get validation errors for the closedUserAnswers or the openUserAnswers as a whole. I don't get validation errors for each object with a problem which is what I need. I really need an error per instance. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Even when I call the validate method against each closedUserAnswer/openUserAnswer I still only get one per type. Here are my errors. Sorry for all the code, but thought I'd include as much of the code as possible so that it makes sense. Field error in object 'uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser' on field 'openUserAnswers.text': rejected value []; codes [uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.error.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.openUserAnswers.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.error.openUserAnswers.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.error.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.error,openUserAnswer.text.blank.error.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.openUserAnswers.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank.error.openUserAnswers.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank.error.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank.error,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.openUserAnswers.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.openUserAnswers.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank.text,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer.text.blank,openUserAnswer.text.blank.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.openUserAnswers.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank.openUserAnswers.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank.text,openUserAnswer.text.blank,blank.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.openUserAnswers.text,blank.openUserAnswers.text,blank.text,blank]; arguments [text,class uk.co.cascaid.iebe.OpenUserAnswer]; default message [Property [{0}] of class [{1}] cannot be blank] Field error in object 'uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser' on field 'closedUserAnswers.answer': rejected value [null]; codes [uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.closedUserAnswers.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.closedUserAnswers.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.closedUserAnswers.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.closedUserAnswers.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.error,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.closedUserAnswers.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.closedUserAnswers.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.answer,uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer.answer.nullable,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.closedUserAnswers.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.closedUserAnswers.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable.answer,closedUserAnswer.answer.nullable,nullable.uk.co.cascaid.iebe.IebeUser.closedUserAnswers.answer,nullable.closedUserAnswers.answer,nullable.answer,nullable]; arguments [answer,class uk.co.cascaid.iebe.ClosedUserAnswer]; default message [Property [{0}] of class [{1}] cannot be null]

  • Google App Engine JDO how to define class fields ?

    - by Frank
    I have a class like this : import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; String Contact_Id,First_Name="",Last_Name="",Company_Name="",Branch_Name="",Address_1="",Address_2="",City="",State="",Zip="",Country="",E_Mail="",Phone; int I_1,I_2; float F_1,F_2; boolean B_1,B_2; GregorianCalendar Date_1, Date_2; Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } If I want to translate it to a class for JDO, do I need to define each field by it self or can I do a group at a time ? For instance do I have to make it like this : @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy=IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Long id; @Persistent public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; @Persistent String Contact_Id; @Persistent String First_Name; @Persistent String Last_Name; ...... @Persistent int I_1; @Persistent int I_2; ... @Persistent float F_1; ... @Persistent boolean B_1; @Persistent boolean B_2; @Persistent GregorianCalendar Date_1; ... @Persistent Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Or can I do a group at a time like this : @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy=IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Long id; @Persistent public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; @Persistent String Contact_Id,First_Name,Last_Name=""; ...... @Persistent int I_1=0,I_2=1; ... @Persistent float F_1; ... @Persistent boolean B_1,B_2; @Persistent GregorianCalendar Date_1; ... @Persistent Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Or can I skip the "@Persistent" all together like this : import java.io.*; import java.util.*; @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; String Contact_Id,First_Name="",Last_Name="",Company_Name="",Branch_Name="",Address_1="",Address_2="",City="",State="",Zip="",Country="", E_Mail="",Phone; int I_1,I_2; float F_1,F_2; boolean B_1,B_2; GregorianCalendar Date_1, Date_2; Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Which are correct ?   • Injection of an EJB into a web java class under JBoss 7.1.1

    - by Dobbo
    I am trying to build a website using JBoss 7.1.1 and RESTeasy. I have managed to constructed and deploy and EAR with a both a WAR and an EJB-JAR contained within: voyager-app.ear META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/application.xml META-INF/jboss-app.xml lib/voyager-lib.jar voyager-adm.war voyager-ejb.jar voyager-web.war So far things are very simple. voyager-adm.war & voyager-lib.jar are empty (just the manifest file) but I know that I'm going to have code for them shortly. There is just one Stateful EJB - HarbourMasterBean (with just a local interface) and a few Database Entity Beans in the EJB jar file: voyager-ejb.jar META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/persistence.xml com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterBean.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterLocal.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/PortEntity.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/ShipEntity.class As far as I can tell the EJBs deploy correctly because the database units are created and the log shows that the publication of some HarbourMaster references: java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:module/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:module/harbour-master The problem lies in getting the HarbourMaster EJB injected into my web bean. The reference to it is alway NULL no matter what I try. voyager-web.war META-INF/MANIFEST.MF WEB-INF/web.xml WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/ WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/Ships.class WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/VoyagerApplication.class Ships.java: @Path("fleet") public class Ships { protected transient final Logger log; @EJB private HarbourMasterLocal harbourMaster; public Ships() { log = LoggerFactory.getLogger(getClass()); } @GET @Path("ships") @Produces({"text/plain"}) public String listShips() { if (log.isDebugEnabled()) log.debug("Harbour master value: " + harbourMaster); return "Harbour Master: " + harbourMaster; } } &lt;web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_3_0.xsd" version="3.0" &gt; <display-name>Voyager Web Application</display-name> <listener> <listener-class> org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.server.servlet.ResteasyBootstrap </listener-class> </listener> <servlet> <servlet-name>Resteasy</servlet-name> <servlet-class> org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.server.servlet.HttpServletDispatcher </servlet-class> <init-param> <param-name> javax.ws.rs.Application </param-name> <param-value> com.nutrastat.voyager.web.VoyagerApplication </param-value> </init-param> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Resteasy</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> &lt;/web-app&gt; I have been searching the web for an answer and read a number of places, both on StackOverflow and elsewhere that suggests is can be done, and that the problems lies with configuration. But they post only snippets and I'm never sure if I'm doing things correctly. Many thanks for any help you can provide. Dobbo

I have some code connects to the service using grails WS-client plugin : WebService webService def result = { def wsdl = ApplicationHolder.application.parentContext.getResource('WEB-INF/productsSoap.wsdl') def proxy = webService.getClient(wsdl.getURL().toString()) def productTypeListResponse = proxy.ProductTypeList() } I also used soapUI to examine the data returned from the web service which gave .. <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <soap:Body> <ProductTypeListResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <ProductTypeListResult> <xs:schema id="ProductTypeListResult" xmlns="" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata"> <xs:element name="ProductTypeListResult" msdata:IsDataSet="true" msdata:UseCurrentLocale="true"> <xs:complexType> <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="ProductTypeListResult"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="PRD_TypeId" type="xs:int" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="PRD_TypeName" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="PRD_Type" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:choice> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema> <diffgr:diffgram xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata" xmlns:diffgr="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-diffgram-v1"> <ProductTypeListResult xmlns=""> <ProductTypeListResult diffgr:id="ProductTypeListResult1" msdata:rowOrder="0"> <PRD_TypeId>2</PRD_TypeId> <PRD_TypeName>ProdType2</PRD_TypeName> <PRD_Type>S</PRD_Type> </ProductTypeListResult> <ProductTypeListResult diffgr:id="ProductTypeListResult2" msdata:rowOrder="1"> <PRD_TypeId>3</PRD_TypeId> <PRD_TypeName>ProdType3</PRD_TypeName> <PRD_Type>C</PRD_Type> </ProductTypeListResult> <ProductTypeListResult diffgr:id="ProductTypeListResult3" msdata:rowOrder="2"> <PRD_TypeId>4</PRD_TypeId> <PRD_TypeName>ProdType4</PRD_TypeName> </ProductTypeListResult> </ProductTypeListResult> </diffgr:diffgram> </ProductTypeListResult> </ProductTypeListResponse> which is a .net dataset .. So my question is how do i get at the information using my productTypeListResponse ? Can anyone give me a pointer ?

  • Trac FastCGI + Python on dreamhost leaves zombie python running

    - by Katsuke
    Hello there, Recently I installed trac in one of my dreamhost domains. I followed the instructions of http://trac.mlalonde.net/wiki/CreamyTrac and everything worked perfectly. At least i thought that was the case. After a few days, i started to notice that i was getting random 500 pages. I quickly checked the error log, and found a bunch of: [Fri Apr 16 14:35:34 2010] [error] [client *.*.*.*] Premature end of script headers: dispatch.fcgi [Fri Apr 16 14:35:54 2010] [error] [client *.*.*.*] Premature end of script headers: dispatch.fcgi, referer: http://www.trac.****.com/login [Fri Apr 16 16:05:58 2010] [error] [client *.*.*.*] Premature end of script headers: dispatch.fcgi, referer: http://www.trac.****.com/timeline The trac instance has very low traffic so it is possible that this might have been triggered faster if there was more use of it. So next step i went to look at top and am amazed by what i see: (this is NOT exactly what i saw, i just reproduced this from memory) 23730 rl_inst 20 0 44516 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:00.17 python2.4 23731 rl_inst 20 0 44616 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:03.17 python2.4 23732 rl_inst 20 0 44116 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 23733 rl_inst 20 0 44826 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:04.17 python2.4 23734 rl_inst 20 0 44216 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.17 python2.4 23735 rl_inst 20 0 44416 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 I opened the trac site again and that changed to this: 23730 rl_inst 20 0 44516 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:00.17 python2.4 23731 rl_inst 20 0 44616 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:03.17 python2.4 23732 rl_inst 20 0 44116 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 23733 rl_inst 20 0 44826 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:04.17 python2.4 23734 rl_inst 20 0 44216 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.17 python2.4 23735 rl_inst 20 0 44416 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 28378 rl_inst 20 0 2608 1208 1008 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.00 dispatch.fcgi 28382 rl_inst 20 0 44248 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.19 python2.4 So the dispatch.fcgi was being called correctly and was spawning correctly other python2.4 process. After the IDLE time passed this is the results: 23730 rl_inst 20 0 44516 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:00.17 python2.4 23731 rl_inst 20 0 44616 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:03.17 python2.4 23732 rl_inst 20 0 44116 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 23733 rl_inst 20 0 44826 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:04.17 python2.4 23734 rl_inst 20 0 44216 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.17 python2.4 23735 rl_inst 20 0 44416 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:01.17 python2.4 28382 rl_inst 20 0 44248 15m 4012 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.19 python2.4 dispatch.fcgi was gone but the corresponding python2.4 was still there o_O. I had started with 5 sleeping processes of python and after idle time i ended up with 6. I repeated this and found that it kept spawning more and more python2.4, this was indeed what was causing my 500s indirectly. Let me explain my findings. Am on a shared hosting so my processes get killed if they are way too many. So everytime i opened trac 2 new processes spawned and one remained, to the point that dreamhost was killing a random process when i reached my limit. Sometimes killing the python2.4 that actually was rendering the current page. Hence header premature ending, python is gone the .fcgi doesnt know what to do and throws an 500. I found a dirty solution to this. I changed my dispatch.fcgi to contain a line that killed any currently running python2.4 process and then spawn a new one. Since then i dont get any rogues what so ever. But i dont think this is the best solution, calling killall in every fcgi just seems wrong. Anyone has run into this issue and found a cleaner solution? Is there anything that i have overlooked?

  • JRuby wrong element type class java.lang.String(array contains char) related to JAVA_HOME

    - by Daryl
    I am on Ubuntu x64 bit running: java version "1.6.0_18" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.8) (6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode) and jruby 1.4.0 (ruby 1.8.7 patchlevel 174) (2010-02-11 6586) (OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 1.6.0_18) [amd64-java] I have this code running on my Windows 7 computer at home. I recently copied over my whole folder over to Ubuntu, installed java, jruby, and associated gems but I get this error when I run my main file: jruby run.rb test =================Processing FREDERICKSBURG_1.1======================= ERROR IN TESTING wrong element type class java.lang.String(array contains char) /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/sentence_splitter/splitter.rb:21:in `to_java' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/sentence_splitter/splitter.rb:21:in `split' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/models/page.rb:103:in `sentences' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/lingpipe_svm.rb:34:in `extract' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:9:in `process' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:8:in `each' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:8:in `process' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:6:in `each' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:6:in `process' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:111:in `generate_all' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:105:in `each' /home/daryl/Desktop/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:105:in `generate_all' run.rb:56 The focus of the error is: ERROR IN TESTING wrong element type class java.lang.String(array contains char) Everything works fine on my windows machine. I figured I was getting this error because I did not have JAVA_HOME set however I added this to bashrc as: export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk and have confirmed: echo $JAVA_HOME /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk I can produce a similar error by removing my JAVA_HOME variable on windows: =================Processing FREDERICKSBURG_1.3======================= ERROR IN TESTING cannot convert instance of class org.jruby.RubyString to char C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/sentence_splitter/splitter.rb:21:in `to_java' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/sentence_splitter/splitter.rb:21:in `split' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/models/page.rb:103:in `sentences' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/lingpipe_svm.rb:34:in `extract' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:9:in `process' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:8:in `each' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:8:in `process' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:6:in `each' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/extractor/geo_controller.rb:6:in `process' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:111:in `generate_all' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:105:in `each' C:/work/Code/geografikos/lib/statistics.rb:105:in `generate_all' run.rb:56 It is obviously not exactly the same but I have a feeling this has to do with the java path. You can probably derive from the error that I am just trying to convert a ruby variable to java using to_java. This works fine on my windows machine and I have confirmed the gems are the same but I don't think this has to do with gems. I lied. I changed my JAVA_HOME back on my windows machine and this error still occurs. So now the code doesn't run on either machine. I recently installed git on my windows machine and added the code to a repository. But I haven't really done anything with it. All it said was it will convert all LF to CRLF...That shouldn't change anything though should it? Any ideas on why I am now getting these errors? I haven't changed anything on my windows machine in months except for installing git.

  • Adding interactions to admin pages generated by the admin generator

    - by Stick it to THE MAN
    I am using Symfony 1.2.9 (with Propel ORM) to create a website. I have started using the admin generator to implement the admin functionality. I have come accross a slight 'problem' however. My models are related (e.g. one table may have several 1:N relations and N:N relations). I have not found a way to address this satisfactorily yet. As a tactical solution (for list views), I have decided to simply show the parent object, and then add interactions to show the related objects. I'll use a Blog model to illustrate this. Here are the relationships for a blog model: N:M relationship with Blogroll (models a blog roll) 1:N relationship with Blogpost (models a post submitted to a blog) I had originally intended on displaying the (paged) blogpost list for a blog,, when it was selected, using AJAX, but I am struggling enough with the admin generator as it is, so I have shelved that idea - unless someone is kind enough to shed some light on how to do this. Instead, what I am now doing (as a tactical/interim soln), is I have added interactions to the list view which allow a user to: View a list of the blog roll for the blog on that row View a list of the posts for the blog on that row Add a post for the blog on tha row In all of the above, I have written actions that will basically forward the request to the approriate action (admin generated). However, I need to pass some parameters (like the blog id etc), so that the correct blog roll or blog post list etc is returned. I am sure there is a better way of doing what I want to do, but in case there isn't here are my questions: How may I obtain the object that relates to a specific row (of the clicked link) in the list view (e.g. the blog object in this example) Once I have the object, I may choose to extract various fields: id etc. How can I pass these arguments to the admin generated action ? Regarding the second question, my guess is that this may be the way to do it (I may be wrong) public function executeMyAddedBlogRollInteractionLink(sfWebRequest $request) { // get the object *somehow* (I'm guessing this may work) $object = $this->getRoute()->getObject(); // retrieve the required parameters from the object, and build a query string $query_str=$object->getId(); //forward the request to the generated code (action to display blogroll list in this case) $this->forward('backendmodulename',"getblogrolllistaction?params=$query_string"); } This feels like a bit of a hack, but I'm not sure how else to go about it. I'm also not to keen on sending params (which may include user_id etc via a GET, even a POST is not that much safer, since it is fairly sraightforward to see what requests a browser is making). if there is a better way than what I suggest above to implement this kind of administration that is required for objects with 1 or more M:N relationships, I will be very glad to hear the "recommended" way of going about it. I remember reading about marking certain actions as internal. i.e. callable from only within the app. I wonder if that would be useful in this instance?

  • Generating .coverage file programmatic way with Visual Studio 2010

    - by prosseek
    I need to generate .coverage file programmatic way. This post explains a C# code to do it as follows. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using System.Diagnostics; using Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage; using Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage.Analysis; // You must add a reference to Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage.Monitor.dll namespace Microsoft.VisualStudio { class DumpProgram { static void Main(string[] args) { Process p = new Process(); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder("/COVERAGE "); sb.Append("hello.exe"); p.StartInfo.FileName = "vsinstr.exe"; p.StartInfo.Arguments = sb.ToString(); p.Start(); p.WaitForExit(); // TODO: Look at return code – 0 for success // A guid is used to keep track of the run Guid myrunguid = Guid.NewGuid(); Monitor m = new Monitor(); m.StartRunCoverage(myrunguid, "hello.coverage"); // Complete the run m.FinishRunCoverage(myrunguid); Unfortunately, when I compile this code, I get the following error. bin2xml.cs(26,22): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Monitor' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) bin2xml.cs(26,38): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Monitor' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) As this post says, there are some changes between VS2008 and VS2010, I think the Monitor class is in some different namespace. What might be wrong? How can I generate the .coverage file programmatically with Visual Studio 2010? ADDED I added using System.Threading to run to get the following error. I run the command csc bin2xml.cs /r:Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage.Analysis.dll. bin2xml.cs(28,21): error CS0723: Cannot declare a variable of static type 'System.Threading.Monitor' bin2xml.cs(28,33): error CS0712: Cannot create an instance of the static class 'System.Threading.Monitor' bin2xml.cs(29,23): error CS1061: 'System.Threading.Monitor' does not contain a definition for 'StartRunCoverage' and no extension method 'StartRunCoverage' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Threading.Monitor' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) bin2xml.cs(31,23): error CS1061: 'System.Threading.Monitor' does not contain a definition for 'FinishRunCoverage' and no extension method 'FinishRunCoverage' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Threading.Monitor' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) ADDED2 I compiled the code with the following command. csc bin2xml.cs /r:Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage.Analysis.dll /r:Microsoft.VisualStudio.Coverage.Monitor.dll Then, I got these error messages. Monitor m = new Monitor(); is at the line 27. bin2xml.cs(27,21): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Monitor' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) bin2xml.cs(27,37): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Monitor' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

  • What is "elegant" code?

    - by Breton
    I see a lot of lip service and talk about the most "elegant" way to do this or that. I think if you spend enough time programming you begin to obtain a sort of intuitive feel for what it is we call "elegance". But I'm curious. Even if we can look at a bit of code, and say instinctively "That's elegant", or "That's messy", I wonder if any of us really understands what that means. Is there a precise definition for this "elegance" we keep referring to? If there is, what is it? Now, what I mean by a precise definition, is a series of statements which can be used to derive questions about a peice of code, or a program as a whole, and determine objectively, or as objectively as possible, whether that code is "elegant" or not. May I assert, that perhaps no such definition exists, and it's all just personal preference. In this case, I ask you a slightly different question: Is there a better word for "elegance", or a better set of attributes to use for judging code quality that is perhaps more objective than merely appealing to individual intuition and taste? Perhaps code quality is a matter of taste, and the answer to both of my questions is "no". But I can't help but feel that we could be doing better than just expressing wishy washy feelings about our code quality. For example, user interface design is something that to a broad range of people looks for all the world like a field of study that oughtta be 100% subjective matter of taste. But this is shockingly and brutally not the case, and there are in fact many objective measures that can be applied to a user interface to determine its quality. A series of tests could be written to give a definitive and repeatable score to user interface quality. (See GOMS, for instance). Now, okay. is Elegance simply "code quality" or is it something more? Is it something that can be measured? Or is it a matter of taste? Does our profession have room for taste? Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions altogether. Help me out here. Bonus Round If there is such a thing as elegance in code, and that concept is useful, do you think that justifies classifying the field of programming as an "Art" capital A, or merely a "craft". Or is it just an engineering field populated by a bunch of wishful thinking humans? Consider this question in the light of your thoughts about the elegance question. Please note that there is a distinction between code which is considered "art" in itself, and code that was written merely in the service of creating an artful program. When I ask this question, I ask if the code itself justifies calling programming an art. Bounty Note I liked the answers to this question so much, I think I'd like to make a photographic essay book from it. Released as a free PDF, and published on some kind of on demand printing service of course, such as "zazz" or "tiggle" or "printley" or something . I'd like some more answers, please!

    Hi Guyz, I am using the following code to validate an an XML file against a XSD schema package com.forat.xsd; import java.io.IOException; import java.net.URL; import javax.xml.XMLConstants; import javax.xml.transform.Source; import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource; import javax.xml.validation.Schema; import javax.xml.validation.SchemaFactory; import javax.xml.validation.Validator; import org.xml.sax.ErrorHandler; import org.xml.sax.SAXException; import org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; public class XSDValidate { public void validate(String xmlFile, String xsd_url) { try { SchemaFactory factory = SchemaFactory.newInstance(XMLConstants.W3C_XML_SCHEMA_NS_URI); Schema schema = factory.newSchema(new URL(xsd_url)); Validator validator = schema.newValidator(); ValidationHandler handler = new ValidationHandler(); validator.setErrorHandler(handler); validator.validate(getSource(xmlFile)); if (handler.errorsFound == true) { System.err.println("Validation Error : "+ handler.exception.getMessage()); }else { System.out.println("DONE"); } } catch (SAXException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } private Source getSource(String resource) { return new StreamSource(XSDValidate.class.getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(resource)); } private class ValidationHandler implements ErrorHandler { private boolean errorsFound = false; private SAXParseException exception; public void error(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { this.errorsFound = true; this.exception = exception; } public void fatalError(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { this.errorsFound = true; this.exception = exception; } public void warning(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { } } /* * Test */ public static void main(String[] args) { new XSDValidate().validate("com/forat/xsd/reply.xml", "https://ics2wstest.ic3.com/commerce/1.x/transactionProcessor/CyberSourceTransaction_1.53.xsd"); // return error } } As appears, It is a standard code that try to validate the following XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <replyMessage xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <merchantReferenceCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</merchantReferenceCode> <requestID>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</requestID> <decision>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</decision> <reasonCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</reasonCode> <requestToken>XXXXXXXXXXXXX </requestToken> <purchaseTotals> <currency>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</currency> </purchaseTotals> <ccAuthReply> <reasonCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</reasonCode> <amount>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</amount> <authorizationCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</authorizationCode> <avsCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</avsCode> <avsCodeRaw>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</avsCodeRaw> <authorizedDateTime>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</authorizedDateTime> <processorResponse>0XXXXXXXXXXXXX</processorResponse> <authRecord>XXXXXXXXXXXXX </authRecord> </ccAuthReply> </replyMessage> Against the following XSD : https://ics2wstest.ic3.com/commerce/1.x/transactionProcessor/CyberSourceTransaction_1.53.xsd The error is : Validation Error : cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'replyMessage'.   • What is the best way to test using grails using IDEA?

    - by egervari
    I am seriously having a very non-pleasant time testing using Grails. I will describe my experience, and I'd like to know if there's a better way. The first problem I have with testing is that Grails doesn't give immediate feedback to the developer when .save() fails inside of an integration test. So let's say you have a domain class with 12 fields, and 1 of them is violating a constraint and you don't know it when you create the instance... it just doesn't save. Naturally, the test code afterward is going to fail. This is most troublesome because the thingy under test is probably fine... and the real risk and pain is the setup code for the test itself. So, I've tried to develop the habit of using .save(failOnError: true) to avoid this problem, but that's not something that can be easily enforced by everyone working on the project... and it's kind of bloaty. It'd be nice to turn this on for code that is running as part of a unit test automatically. Integration Tests run slow. I cannot understand how 1 integration test that saves 1 object takes 15-20 seconds to run. With some careful test planning, I've been able to get 1000 tests talking to an actual database and doing dbunit dumps after every test to happen in about the same time! This is dumb. It is hard to run all the unit tests and not integration tests in IDEA. Integration tests are a massive pain. Idea actually shows a GREEN BAR when integration tests fail. The output given by grails indicates that something failed, but it doesn't say what it was. It says to look in the test reports... which forces the developer to launch up their file system to hunt the stupid html file down. What a pain. Then once you got the html file and click to the failing test, it'll tell you a line number. Since these reports are not in the IDE, you can't just click the stack trace to go to that line of code... you gotta go back and find it yourself. ARGGH!@!@! Maybe people put up with this, but I refuse. Testing should not be this painful. It should be fast and painless, or people won't do it. Please help. What is the solution? Rails instead of Grails? Something else entirely? I love the Grails framework, but they never demo their testing for a reason. They have a snazzy framework, but the testing is painful. After having used Scala for the last 1.5 months, and being totally spoiled by ScalaTest... I can't go back to this.

  • How to write specs with MSpec for code that changes Thread.CurrentPrincipal?

    - by Dan Jensen
    I've been converting some old specs to MSpec (were using NUnit/SpecUnit). The specs are for a view model, and the view model in question does some custom security checking. We have a helper method in our specs which will setup fake security credentials for the Thread.CurrentPrincipal. This worked fine in the old unit tests, but fails in MSpec. Specifically, I'm getting this exception: "System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type is not resolved for member" It happens when part of the SUT tries to read the app config file. If I comment out the line which sets the CurrentPrincipal (or simply call it after the part that checks the config file), the error goes away, but the tests fail due to lack of credentials. Similarly, if I set the CurrentPrincipal to null, the error goes away, but again the tests fail because the credentials aren't set. I've googled this, and found some posts about making sure the custom principal is serializable when it crosses AppDomain boundaries (usually in reference to web apps). In our case, this is not a web app, and I'm not crossing any AppDomains. Our pincipal object is also serializable. I downloaded the source for MSpec, and found that the ConsoleRunner calls a class named AppDomainRunner. I haven't debugged into it, but it looks like it's running the specs in different app domains. So does anyone have any ideas on how I can overcome this? I really like MSpec, and would love to use it exclusively. But I need to be able to supply fake security credentials while running the tests. Thanks! Update: here's the spec class: [Subject(typeof(CountryPickerViewModel))] public class When_the_user_makes_a_selection : PickerViewModelSpecsBase { protected static CountryPickerViewModel picker; Establish context = () => { SetupFakeSecurityCredentials(); CreateFactoryStubs(); StubLookupServicer<ICountryLookupServicer>() .WithData(BuildActiveItems(new [] { "USA", "UK" })); picker = new CountryPickerViewModel(ViewFactory, ViewModelFactory, BusinessLogicFactory, CacheFactory); }; Because of = () => picker.SelectedItem = picker.Items[0]; Behaves_like<Picker_that_has_a_selected_item> a_picker_with_a_selection; } We have a number of these "picker" view models, all of which exhibit some common behavior. So I'm using the Behaviors feature of MSpec. This particular class is simulating the user selecting something from the (WPF) control which is bound to this VM. The SetupFakeSecurityCredentials() method is simply setting Thread.CurrentPrincipal to an instance of our custom principal, where the prinipal has been populated will full-access rights. Here's a fake CountryPickerViewModel which is enough to cause the error: public class CountryPickerViewModel { public CountryPickerViewModel(IViewFactory viewFactory, IViewModelFactory viewModelFactory, ICoreBusinessLogicFactory businessLogicFactory, ICacheFactory cacheFactory) { Items = new Collection<int>(); var validator = ValidationFactory.CreateValidator<object>(); } public int SelectedItem { get; set; } public Collection<int> Items { get; private set; } } It's the ValidationFactory call which blows up. ValidationFactory is an Enterprise Library object, which tries to access the config.

  • Problems with maven output directory

    - by Gandalf StormCrow
    I'm using almost same POM for both my projects, they are on the same workspace but they are not related at all, they are related however because in both I use spring and jboss. Here is the pom : <project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd"> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <groupId>com.springinaction.hello</groupId> <artifactId>spring-in-action</artifactId> <packaging>jar</packaging> <version>0.0.1-SNAPSHOT</version> <name>spring-in-action</name> <url>http://maven.apache.org</url> <properties> <jboss.ome>C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA\server\default\deploy</jboss.ome> <springversion>2.5.3</springversion> </properties> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.springframework</groupId> <artifactId>spring</artifactId> <version>${springversion}</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>log4j</groupId> <artifactId>log4j</artifactId> <version>1.2.14</version> <scope>provided</scope> </dependency> </dependencies> <build> <plugins> <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-war-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.0</version> <configuration> <warName>spring-book</warName> <outputDirectory>${jboss.ome}</outputDirectory> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> </build> </project> What I want to achieve with this POM is that I want to name my war when built spring-book.war and copy it to Jboss location I specified. Now in my first project this works it does exactly what I requested but in other it does not. I changed springversion and jboss home properties variable but everything remains the same, what can I do ? The project builds and all, everything is working perfectly just I don't want to copy everytime in my jboss dir and previously remove the old war, it takes about 20sec on each source code change its a lot

  • Qt - reloading widget contents

    - by bullettime
    I'm trying to modify the fridge magnets example by adding a button that will reload the widget where the draggable labels are drawn, reflecting any changes made to the text file it reads. I defined another class that would contain the button and the DragWidget object, so there would be an instance of this class instead of DragWidget in main(): class wrapWidget: public QWidget { public: wrapWidget(); }; wrapWidget::wrapWidget() { QGridLayout *gridlayout = new QGridLayout(); DragWidget *w = new DragWidget(); QPushButton *b = new QPushButton("refresh"); gridlayout ->addWidget(w,0,0); gridlayout ->addWidget(b,1,0); setLayout(gridlayout ); connect(b,SIGNAL(clicked()),w,SLOT(draw())); } The call to connect is where I'm trying to do the refresh thing. In the original fridge magnets example, all the label drawing code was inside the constructor of the DragWidget class. I moved that code to a public method that I named 'draw()', and called this method from the constructor instead. Here's DragWidget definition and implementation: #include <QWidget> QT_BEGIN_NAMESPACE class QDragEnterEvent; class QDropEvent; QT_END_NAMESPACE class DragWidget : public QWidget { public: DragWidget(QWidget *parent = 0); public slots: void draw(); protected: void dragEnterEvent(QDragEnterEvent *event); void dragMoveEvent(QDragMoveEvent *event); void dropEvent(QDropEvent *event); void mousePressEvent(QMouseEvent *event); void paintEvent(QPaintEvent *event); }; DragWidget::DragWidget(QWidget *parent) : QWidget(parent) { draw(); QPalette newPalette = palette(); newPalette.setColor(QPalette::Window, Qt::white); setPalette(newPalette); setMinimumSize(400, 100);//qMax(200, y)); setWindowTitle(tr("Fridge Magnets")); setAcceptDrops(true); } void DragWidget::draw(){ QFile dictionaryFile(":/dictionary/words.txt"); dictionaryFile.open(QFile::ReadOnly); QTextStream inputStream(&dictionaryFile); int x = 5; int y = 5; while (!inputStream.atEnd()) { QString word; inputStream >> word; if (!word.isEmpty()) { DragLabel *wordLabel = new DragLabel(word, this); wordLabel->move(x, y); wordLabel->show(); wordLabel->setAttribute(Qt::WA_DeleteOnClose); x += wordLabel->width() + 2; if (x >= 245) { x = 5; y += wordLabel->height() + 2; } } } } I thought that maybe calling draw() as a slot would be enough to reload the labels, but it didn't work. Putting the draw() call inside the widget's overriden paintEvent() instead of the constructor didn't work out as well, the program would end up in an infinite loop. What I did was obviously not the right way of doing it, so what should I be doing instead?

  • Jasper report always showing no content, why?

    Hi, I have the following code: InputStream reportFile = MyPage.this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("test.jrxml"); HashMap<String, String> parameters = new HashMap<String, String>(); parameters.put("StringParameterName", "show me"); try { JasperReport report = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(reportFile); JasperPrint print = JasperFillManager.fillReport(report, parameters); return JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf(print); } catch (JRException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); return null; } And the test.jrxml looks like this (I generated part of it with the iReport, the only thing I did was to remove the language="groovy" attribute): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <jasperReport xmlns="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/jasperreports http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/xsd/jasperreport.xsd" name="test" pageWidth="595" pageHeight="842" columnWidth="555" leftMargin="20" rightMargin="20" topMargin="20" bottomMargin="20"> <property name="ireport.zoom" value="1.0"/> <property name="ireport.x" value="0"/> <property name="ireport.y" value="0"/> <parameter name="StringParameterName" isForPrompting="false" class="java.lang.String"/> <background> <band splitType="Stretch"/> </background> <title> <band height="20"> <staticText> <reportElement x="180" y="0" width="200" height="20"/> <text><![CDATA[Hello World!]]></text> </staticText> </band> </title> <pageHeader> <band height="35" splitType="Stretch"/> </pageHeader> <columnHeader> <band height="61" splitType="Stretch"/> </columnHeader> <detail> <band height="125" splitType="Stretch"> <textField> <reportElement x="243" y="77" width="100" height="20"/> <textElement/> <textFieldExpression class="java.lang.String"><![CDATA[$P{StringParameterName}]]></textFieldExpression> </textField> </band> </detail> <columnFooter> <band height="45" splitType="Stretch"/> </columnFooter> <pageFooter> <band height="54" splitType="Stretch"/> </pageFooter> <summary> <band height="42" splitType="Stretch"/> </summary> </jasperReport> As a result I always get a blank pdf file.   • Kindle Fire: PopupMenu$OrientationChangeListener leak

    - by dokkaebi
    I have a little popup menu that anchors on a button in the action bar. This works well on 3.0/3.1 Xoom and Galaxy tabs, and a 4.1 Nexus 7. However, on a 7" Fire HD (this one), I get an error about a leaked intent receiver when exiting the application. The error occurs only if the menu was not opened during that run. There is no mention of OrientationChangeListener in the one copy of the source I've found; I suspect Amazon has a different implementation. Questions: Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know of a workaround or a fix? (Where) can I find Amazon's source code? Finally, (shudder) how important is it that I don't leak a receiver on application exit? Here is the menu xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <menu xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:id="@+id/menu_profile" android:title="@string/menu_item_profile" ></item> <item android:id="@+id/menu_logout" android:title="@string/menu_item_logout" ></item> </menu> This is where I register it: @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu); MenuInflater inflater = getMenuInflater(); inflater.inflate(R.menu.main_menu, menu); MenuItem login = menu.findItem(R.id.menu_login); Button button = (Button) login.getActionView().findViewById(R.id.login); button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { profileMenu.show(); } }); // profileMenu is an instance field profileMenu = new PopupMenu(this, button); inflater.inflate(R.menu.profile_menu, profileMenu.getMenu()); profileMenu.setOnMenuItemClickListener(new PopupMenu.OnMenuItemClickListener() { public boolean onMenuItemClick(MenuItem item) { // there was code here, but I removed it all and the problem persists return false; } }); return true; } Here is the full stack trace: 10-21 20:55:28.461: E/ActivityThread(4526): Activity **.app.ListActivity has leaked IntentReceiver android.widget.PopupMenu$OrientationChangeListener@422d77e0 that was originally registered here. • Where are classpath, path and pathelement documented in Ant version 1.8.0?

    - by Robert Menteer
    I'm looking over the documentation that comes with Apache Ant version 1.8.0 and can't find where classpath, path and pathelement are documented. I've found a page that describes path like structures but it doesn't list the valid attributes or nested elements for these. Another thing I can't find in the documentation is a description of the relationships between filelist, fileset, patternset and path and how to convert them back and forth. For instance there has to be an easier way to compile only those classes in one package while removing all class dependencies on the package classes and update documentation. <!-- Get list of files in which we're interested. --> <fileset id = "java.source.set" dir = "${src}"> <include name = "**/Package/*.java" /> </fileset> <!-- Get a COMMA separated list of classes to compile. --> <pathconvert property = "java.source.list" refid = "java.source.set" pathsep = ","> <globmapper from = "${src}/*.@{src.extent}" to = "*.class" /> </pathconvert> <!-- Remove ALL dependencies on package classes. --> <depend srcdir = "${src}" destdir = "${build}" includes = "${java.source.list}" closure = "yes" /> <!-- Get a list of up to date classes. --> <fileset id = "class.uptodate.set" dir = "${build}"> <include name = "**/*.class" /> </fileset> <!-- Get list of source files for up to date classes. --> <pathconvert property = "java.uptodate.list" refid = "class.uptodate.set" pathsep = ","> <globmapper from="${build}/*.class" to="*.java" /> </pathconvert> <!-- Compile only those classes in package that are not up to date. --> <javac srcdir = "${src}" destdir = "${build}" classpathref = "compile.classpath" includes = "${java.source.list}" excludes = "${java.uptodate.list}"/> <!-- Get list of directories of class files for package. --: <pathconvert property = "class.dir.list" refid = "java.source.set" pathsep = ","> <globmapper from = "${src}/*.java" to = "${build}*" /> </pathconvert> <!-- Convert directory list to path. --> <path id = "class.dirs.path"> <dirset dir = "${build}" includes = "class.dir.list" /> </path> <!-- Update package documentation. --> <jdepend outputfile = "${docs}/jdepend-report.txt"> <classpath refid = "compile.classpath" /> <classpath location = "${build}" /> <classespath> <path refid = "class.dirs.path" /> </classespath> <exclude name = "java.*" /> <exclude name = "javax.*" /> </jdepend> Notice there's a number of conversions between filesets, paths and comma separated list just to get the proper 'type' required for the different ant tasks. Is there a way to simplify this while still processing the fewest files in a complex directory structure?
