  • Skype/14.04: no sound output in conversations

    I installed Skype 4.2 via PPA on my fresh 14.04 system. Skype itself makes notification sounds (though distorted), but when I am in a conversation, I receive neither sound, nor video. I tested it with my mom, she could hear and see me, but I couldn't see or hear her, and the sound test is quiet too. I didn't install any additional drivers yet, as I'm much of a newbie I'm not sure which ones to choose. Please let me know if you need any command outputs.

  • How do I install Inventel UR056g usb wifi?

    I am am using a Inventel UR054g (R01) usb wireless adaptor on my desktop. I had quite trouble setting it up but after installing ndiswrapper and prism2 drivers I got it up and running. However, I need to run in the command line the following to get it started; sudo dhcpcd wlan0 I want this top start automatically when I restart the PC. Further, I aslo want this connection to be available to other users. Any help would be appreciated.

    I was trying to use the following command to install build-dep on Ubuntu 10.10: apt-get build-dep --no-install-recommends linux-image-$(uname -r) but I got the following error: E: You must put some 'source' URIs in your sources.list I have already changed archive.ubuntu.com to old-releases.ubuntu.com for all the repositories in my source list.   • Fix for: Xlib: extension "XINERAMA" missing on display

    I am using Xming 6.9 with putty trying to run libreoffice remotely. It works well, but an error line appears in the terminal from where I launch it: Xlib: extension "XINERAMA" missing on display "localhost:12.0". Looks like it needs this extension but I can't find the necessary dll file (libXinerama-1.dll) for it as it is not included in the package. I ask for a link from where I could download this file (I accept a hit with a lmgtfy if you can do it) or the source code of it and how to complie it on my win7 machine... or just a surface fix could do it also if it is really clean and simple: hide the error line.

    We had a 3-drive Windows Server 2008 R2 RAID-5 fail (operating in redundancy mode): WDC 1 TB WDC 1 TB WDC 1 TB We removed the failed hard drive, and put a WDC 1 TB drive (that we had standing by) into the machine. When launched, Disk Manager, asked permission to "initialize" the disk as either: Master Boot Record (MBR) Guid Partition Table (GPT) We initialized the disk as GPT, converted it to dynamic, and tried to use the Repair Volume command - except it was greyed out. (which is a terrifying thing on a failed production server hosting 3 virtual servers) i tried from the diskpart command line tool.     So I've already checked through my config file and I really can't see an instance where any tag hasn't been properly closed...but I keep getting this configuration error...Would you mind taking a look through the error and the config file below? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. FYI, I've already googled the life out of the error and looked through the log extensively, I really can't find anything.     I'm trying to set a Domain User account as ApplicationPool Identity in IIS 8 (Windows 2012). When trying this using the IIS Management Console I always get an error: Value does not fall within the expected range. When trying to set the identity using appcmd.exe it fails on both the command setting the username and password or the command only setting the password. Setting the username is no problem.     I've compiled NGINX 1.4.1 with ssl support and wanted to secure my configuation with these lines: ssl_prefer_server_ciphers on; ssl_protocols        SSLv3 TLSv1 TLSv1.1 TLSv1.2; ssl_ciphers          AES128-GCM-SHA256:AES256-GCM-SHA384:RC4-SHA:AES128-SHA256:AES256-SHA256; ssl_session_cache       shared:TLSSL:16m; ssl_session_timeout     10m; This is the error I'm getting which I don't understand why it comes up: nginx: [emerg] unknown directive "ssl_protocols        SSLv3" my nginx configuration: nginx version: nginx/1.4.1 built by gcc 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) TLS SNI support enabled configure arguments: --with-http_dav_module --with-http_gzip_static_module --with- http_stub_status_module --prefix=/opt/nginx --with-http_perl_module --with-http_ssl_module --with-perl=/usr/bin/perl --with-http_geoip_module --with-http_realip_module maybe anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
