  I've been trying to work out the 'best practices' way to manage file uploads with Turbogears 2 and have thus far not really found any examples. I've figured out a way to actually upload the file, but I'm not sure how reliable it us.   I have been working with an existing website out company has running until I finish developing the new site. I've been asked to add some additional functionality to booking pages that will automatically set a booking button based on passed parameters. The existing working regex is as follows: RewriteRule ^.+-(\d+)\.accommodation$ property_detail.php?id=$1 Which works fine with the url like below and passes through the URL. this-is-the-property-name.1234.accomodation However as a quick shiv, I am trying to do the following: this-is-the-property-name.1234.accomodation?override=true&start_date=2010-05-14&numbernights=2&sleeps=10&price=1012 The regex I came up with for this was: RewriteRule ^.+-(\d+)\.accommodation\?override=(\w+)&start_date=(19|20)[0-9]{2}[- /.](0[1-9]|1[012])[- /.](0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])&numbernights=(\d+)&sleeps=(\d+)&price=(\d+)$ property_detail.php?id=$1&override=$2&start_date=$3-$4-$5&numbernights=$6&sleeps=$7&price=$8 The regex is passing as valid in RegexBuddy - however it keeps causing a 500 error on the server.   I'm creating a table with: CREATE TABLE movies ( id INT AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, name CHAR(255) NOT NULL, year INT NOT NULL, inyear CHAR(10), CONSTRAINT UNIQUE CLUSTERED (name, year, inyear) ); (this is jdbc SQL) Which creates a MySQL table with a clustered index, "index kind" is "unique", and spans the three clustered columns: full size However, once I dump my data (without exceptions thrown), I see that the uniqueness constraint has failed: SELECT * FROM movies WHERE name = 'Flawless' AND year = 2007 AND inyear IS NULL; gives: id, name, year, inyear 162169, 'Flawless', 2007, NULL 162170, 'Flawless', 2007, NULL Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

• Rspec-rails doesn't seem to find my models

  Hi - I'm trying out rspec, and immediately hit a wall when it doesn't seem to load db records I know exist. Here's my fairly simple spec (no tests yet). require File.expand_path(File.dirname(__FILE__) + '../spec_helper') describe SomeModel do before :each do @user1 = User.find(1) @user2 = User.find(2) end it "should do something fancy" end I get an ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound exception, saying it couldn't find User w/ ID=1 or ID=2, which I know for a fact exist. I set both test and development databases to point to the same schema in database.yml, so this shouldn't be database mixup. I also ran script/generate rspec after installing the gems (rspec, rspec-rails), and gem.config both environment.rb and test.rb. Any idea what I'm missing? thanks. EDIT Seems I was running the tests with rake spec:models, which emptied the db and thus no records were found. When I used % spec spec/models/some_model_spec.rb, everything worked as expected.

I created a private bucket I created a public distribution and used origin id to connect to the private bucket: works I created a private distribution and connected it the same as #3 - now I get access denied: expected I'm having a really hard time generating a url that will work. • Adding unique objects to Core Data

  I'm working on an iPhone app that gets a number of objects from a database. I'd like to store these using Core Data, but I'm having problems with my relationships. A Detail contains any number of POIs (points of interest). When I fetch a set of POI's from the server, they contain a detail ID. In order to associate the POI with the Detail (by ID), my process is as follows: Query the ManagedObjectContext for the detailID. If that detail exists, add the poi to it. If it doesn't, create the detail (it has other properties that will be populated lazily). The problem with this is performance. Performing constant queries to Core Data is slow, to the point where adding a list of 150 POI's takes a minute thanks to the multiple relationships involved. In my old model, before Core Data (various NSDictionary cache objects) this process was super fast (look up a key in a dictionary, then create it if it doesn't exist) I have more relationships than just this one, but pretty much every one has to do this check (some are many to many, and they have a real problem). Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can help this? I could perform fewer queries (by searching for a number of different ID's), but I'm not sure how much this will help. I made a maven multi module project with the following modules: /api /domain /repositories /webapp I like to share the domain and the repositories between the api and the webapp (both web projects). When i echo the $sql, all the values are set properly. and when i ech the $result i get the value 1. can someone please tell me what am i doing wrong here??

  So, lets say you have two SQL Server Databases on the same server that reference each others tables in their Views, Functions and Stored Procedures. You know, things like this: use database_foo create view spaghetti as select f.col1, c.col2 from fusilli f inner join database_bar.dbo.conchigli c on f.id = c.id (I know that cross-database views are not very good practice, but lets just say you're stuck with it) Are there any good techniques to avoid 'hard coding' the database names? (So that should you need to occasionally re-point to a different database - for testing perhaps - you don't need to edit loads of views, fns, sps) I'm interested in SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 solutions. • Authlogic OpenID: Fetching E-Mail from Provider.

  This is a really weird problem: I have set up the authlogic_openid_selector_example app. When i register, the email id is not returned by the openid provider the first time. But if i delete the account and register again, the email id is returned. But this doesn't seem to be happening in the example hosted here: http://big-glow-mama.heroku.com/. How do i fix this problem? Has this got to do with caching? I have hosted my version of the app here: http://pingauthtest.heroku.com/ I guess the author of authlogic_openid_selector_example app (@holden) has forgotten to commit new changes. :) I looked at my development log and the first time the provider doesn't return the openid.ext1.value.ext0 which contains the email id. This is returned the second time only after having deleted the account first. • Having Many Problems with Jquery UI 1.8.1 Dialog.js

  Hi I been using the jquery ui for quite a while now. This is the first time using 1.8 though and I am not sure why but it seems to me this plugin has taken steps backwards. I never had so much difficulty to use the Jquery UI as I am having now. First the documentation is out of date. Dependencies * UI Core * UI Draggable (Optional) * UI Resizable (Optional) After line 20mins of trying and getting error after error (like dialog is not a function) I realized that you need some other javascript file called "widget.js" So now I have Jquery 1.4.2.js UI Core.js UI Widget.js UI Dialog.js all on my page. After that it should put it right after my tabs. So when watching it with firebug it does this. However once does the .dialog() method it moves the + all the stuff it generates and puts it after my footer. So now I have my dialog box under my footer tucked away in the bottom right hand corner. I want it dead in the center. In previous versions I don't think it mattered where the dialog code was on your page it would always be dead center. So what am I missing? The center.js(I don't know if this exists but seems like you need 100 javascript files now to get this to work proper).

• DataRelation Insert and ForeignKey

  Guys, I have a winforms application with two DataGridViews displaying a master-detail relationship from my Person and Address tables. Person table has a PersonID field that is auto-incrementing primary key. Address has a PersonID field that is the FK. I fill my DataTables with DataAdapter and set Person.PersonID column's AutoIncrement=true and AutoIncrementStep=-1. I can insert records in the Person DataTable from the DataGridView. The PersonID column displays unique negative values for PersonID. I update the database by calling DataAdapter.Update(PersonTable) and the negative PersonIDs are converted to positive unique values automatically by SQL Server. Here's the rub. The Address DataGridView show the address table which has a DataRelation to Person by PersonID. Inserted Person records have the temporary negative PersonID. I can now insert records into Address via DataGridView and Address.PersonID is set to the negative value from the DataRelation mapping. I call Adapter.Update(AddressTable) and the negative PersonIDs go into the Address table breaking the relationship. How do you guys handle primary/foreign keys using DataTables and master-detail DataGridViews? Thanks! Steve EDIT: After more googling, I found that SqlDataAdapter.RowUpdated event gives me what I need. I create a new command to query the last id inserted by using @@IDENTITY. It works pretty well. The DataRelation updates the Address.PersonID field for me so it's required to Update the Person table first then update the Address table. All the new records insert properly with correct ids in place! • FLex MouseEvent doesn't fire when Mouse stays over element

  Hi, i'm trying to make a scrollable box, when a mouse enters and STAYS on "wrapper"'s area, "pubsBox" moves 10 pixels to the left. <mx:Canvas id="wrapper" height="80" width="750"> <mx:HBox id="pubsBox" horizontalGap="10" height="80" width="100%" /> </mx:Canvas> My problem is that I'm not sure how to make the MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER work, to recognize that the mouse is still ON the area and so pubsBox should continue to move 10 pixels to the left every second. I understand that i have to use a Timer, but what I'm concerned about is the fact that I can't get Flex to recognize that the mouse is still OVER "wrapper" and continue firing the event. Any ideas?

• Unexpected behavior of IntentService

  I used IntentService in my code instead of Service because IntentService creates a thread for me in onHandleIntent(Intent intent), so I don't have to create a Thead myself in the code of my service. I expected that two intents to the same IntentSerivce will execute in parallel because a thread is generated in IntentService for each invent. But my code turned out that the two intents executed in sequential way. It there anything I misunderstood of IntentService. To make two service intents execute in parallel, do I have to replace IntentService with service and start a thread myself in the service code?
