  • How to get JSON back from HTTP POST Request (to another domain)

    - by roman m
I'm trying to use the API on a website, here's the part of the manual: Authenticated Sessions (taken from here) To create an authenticated session, you need to request an authToken from the '/auth' API resource. URL: http://stage.amee.com/auth (this is not my domain) Method: POST Request format: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Response format: application/xml, application/json Response code: 200 OK Response body: Details of the authenticated user, including API version. Extra data: "authToken" cookie and header, containing the authentication token that should be used for subsequent calls. Parameters: username / password Example Request POST /auth HTTP/1.1 Accept: application/xml Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded username=my_username&password=my_password Response HTTP/1.1 200 OK Set-Cookie: authToken=1KVARbypAjxLGViZ0Cg+UskZEHmqVkhx/Pm...; authToken: 1KVARbypAjxLGViZ0Cg+UskZEHmqVkhx/PmEvzkPGp...== Content-Type: application/xml; charset=UTF-8 QUESTION: How do I get that to work? I tried jQuery, but it seems to have problem with XSS. Actual code snippet would be greatly appreciated. p.s. All I was looking for was WebClient class in C#

  • Scriptaculous Autocomplete to activate when the page is loaded.

    - by Jelle
Is there a way to fire up Scriptaculous's Autocomplete to search with the default word from the inputfield when the page is loaded? • How to diganose an unlogged Error 500 on Apache?

    - by samuel morhaim
We are running a very simple Symfony script, that randomly returns an Error 500. The system administrator says he can't find any trace of an Error 500 on the error logs, however using Curl or Firebug, it is obvious that an Error 500 is being returned. The script simply parses a POST request submitted to an URL on our server. We already checked for performance, memory etc but nothing seems to be the problem. How is this possible? We already enabled all debugging, logging, on Apache, PHP, etc and nothing.

  • CSS not rendering on MAMP

    - by Debashis
I'm working on a Wordpress blog. I'm embedding a stylesheet as follows: <link rel=”stylesheet” href="<?php bloginfo("stylesheet_url"); ?>" type=”text/css” media=”screen” /> However, the CSS doesn't render, at all. I've checked that the URL that is being put in the href is correct. The CSS is found. But, it doesn't render, in all browsers. I am utterly stumped, and would really appreciate a nudge in the right direction. I'm using MAMP 1.8.3, and Wordpress 1.2.9.

  • Reading JSON with JQuery

    - by user70192
Hello, I am using JQuery to execute an operation within a web service. After writing data back to my databaes, the service returns a JSON response. My request looks like the following: $.ajax({ url: "/services/myService.svc/PostMessage", type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: '{"message":"testing","comments":"test"}', dataType: "json", success: function (response) { if ((response.d != null) && (response.d.length > 0)) { // Parse the status code here } else { alert("error!"); } }, error: function (req, msg, obj) { alert("error: " + req.responseText); } }); When my response is returned, response.d contains the following: [{"StatusCode":1}] How do I parse out the value of the StatusCode?

  • iphone's nsxmlparser parsing RSS causes encoding problems

    - by Tankista
Hi, Im working on simle RSS reader. This reader loads data from internet via this code: NSXMLParser *rss = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/50405236.rss"]]; My problem is with encoding. RSS 2.0 file is supposed to be UTF8 encoded according to encoding attribute in XML file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> So when I download URLs content I get text truncated after first occurance of char with diacritics, example: l š c t ž ý á í é, etc. I tried to solve the problem by downloading URL as UTF8 string, I used this code: NSString *rssXmlString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL: [NSURL URLWithString: @"http://www.macblog.sk/rss.xml"] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error: nil]; NSData *rssXmlData = [rssXmlString dataUsingEncoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding]; Did not help. Thanx for your responses.

  • Trying to parse xml, but xmldocument.loadxml() is trying to download?

    - by maxp
I have a string input that i do not know whether or not is valid xml. I think the simplest aprroach is to wrap new XmlDocument().LoadXml(strINPUT); In a try/catch. The problem im facing is, sometimes strINPUT is an html file, if the header of this file contains <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC ""-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"" ""http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd""> <html xml:lang=""en-GB"" xmlns=""http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"" lang=""en-GB""> ...like many do, it actually tries to make a connection to the w3.org url, which i really dont want it doing. Anyone know if its possible to just parse the string without trying to be clever and checking external urls? Failing that is there an alternative to xmldocument?

  • Need help with this Regex + UrlRewriter.NET please :)

    - by Pure.Krome
Previously, on StackOverflow ... (Summarized) I need to capture all requests, for a particluar subdomain .. and rewrite their destination. Now, the trick to determining the host via regex was solved. Now, i need to make sure all requests to the root index page is rewritten, but i can't figure out the correct regex to find the 'homepage' / website root. this is what i have.... <if header="HTTP_HOST" match="^foo\.mydomain\.com\.au(?::\d+)?/?$"> <!-- snip some other rewrites, eg./buying/product -> ~/Pages/Foo/Bar.aspx --> <rewrite url="^/$" to="~/Pages/SomeWeirdFolder/Home.aspx" processing="stop"/> </if> Now if one of the rewrites were not found, then it falls through and continues. So .. can anyone please help?

  • XSS exploit when JavaScript is disabled

    - by snaken
I'm getting pretty frustrated trying to make McAffee whitelist a supposed exploit on a site i work on. The issue is that their automated system has detected a supposed XSS exploit but the exploit only exists when JavaScript is disabled. Given the fact that you need JavaScript to be disabled for the exploit to exist then surely this means this is not an exploit. Can anyone think of any possible arguments to the contrary? Update - To add more detail: The problem comes from in one place unsanitized URL content is written to an anchor tag href. So, with JS disabled you could have something like this: <a href="foor.php?"><script>alert('foo')</script>#someanchor" .. When JavaScript is enabled this href is updated to be this (on dom ready): <a href="javascript:;">link</a> So, with JS enabled the link is no longer injected, with JS disabled the alert would no longer execute.

  • How to make .NET WebForm Routing work with Authorization

    - by jakmas
I have routes that are being registered from the database into an asp.net website (non MVC). The routes register fine, they all work when I am logged in. What I am trying to do is create a landing page based on some route data: Page is [site]/landing/dell The route looks like: "landing/{client}" and it routes to my page Login.aspx, in there I get the client out of the route, then display some custom brand data based on the value. In my web.config, I have my authentication mode set to forms, with my loginUrl = "Login.aspx" When the user does not have the authorization cookie, it redirects the user to: [site]/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2flanding%2fdell instead of keeping the route url, and displaying the correct data. The IIS server actually does not even process the route at all, just sends the user to the Login.aspx page. I have tried several additions to my web.config: etc, and many variations, but nothing seems to work. Ideas anyone? I assume this is a common issue, and it is just not well documented.

  • HTML Rendering Engine as a Java Control

    - by SvrGuy
Hi All, We have a client side application (Java/Swing) that we need an HTML rendering control for. What I want to find is the most widely adopted, most heavily developed, easiest to deploy solution to get Gecko or WebKit into a Swing app (Needs to run OS X and Windows). The limited (crappy?) JEditPane type solutions are not robust enough for our needs. We would really like to use either WebKit or Gecko. Some libraries seems to exist that would allow this: (QT WebKit) http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKit (JRex) [can not post URL because I am new] etc. Whats the best library to achieve this?

  • Drupal: Two-way communication between unregistered customer and admin

    - by Bryan Folds
I need to setup a system where customers can choose to Request a Quote for a specific holiday package, where they will enter their personal details as well as their holiday requirements (number of rooms, etc.) and will then allow them to view a page which will have a threaded conversation between them and the admin (so the admin can reply to their quote request on the website). The problem is that most customers won't be registered when they want to request a quote, so I was thinking that the Request a Quote page could silently register the customer as a user (using their personal details) on the same page where it asks for their holiday requirements. The other option I can think of would be to not register them and just email them a unique URL where they can view their quote request and reply to the admin. Could you point me in the right direction on how to do either of those?

  • iphone: is there any secure way to establish 2-way SSL from an application

    - by pmilosev
Hi I need to establish a HTTPS 2-way SSL connection from my iPhone application to the customer's server. However I don't see any secure way to deliver the client side certificates to the application (it's an e-banking app, so security is really an issue). From what I have found so far the only way that the app would be able to access the certificate is to provide it pre-bundeled with the application itself, or expose an URL from which it could be fetched (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2037172/iphone-app-with-ssl-client-certs). The thing is that neither of this two ways prevent some third party to get the certificate, which if accepted as a risk eliminates the need for 2-way SSL (since anyone can have the client certificate). The whole security protocol should look like this: - HTTPS 2-way SSL to authenticate the application - OTP (token) based user registration (client side key pair generated at this step) - SOAP / WSS XML-Signature (requests signed by the keys generated earlier) Any idea on how to establish the first layer of security (HTTPS) ? regards

  • Jquery - Forms Plugin, Dynamic Tabs

    - by user177874
Hi guys, I am using JQuery UI tabs. When i create a tab using the "$("#" + target).tabs('add', url, title);" method it opens a tab and calls an ajax form correctly.. Now the problem exists when i open an identical tab containing the identical form. When the form is submitted using the forms plugin, things mess up. I am presuming this is due to multiple areas having the same div id and so the form plugin does not know which to update.. Is there a work around for this at all ??

  • request payload versus query string parameters

    - by Sarah Sides
I am absolutely in the dark when it comes to this request payload that I'm seeing in my Chrome browser. A Query string will have a variable attached like session:2g0SoEE but this payload has just one long string I'm guessing is in base64. I do understand that the request payload can have whatever, but how do I use it? Can I do a post with jquery and send this request payload? For example: $.post(url, {variable: "variable"}, function(data){}); When this posts it will send &variable=variable this will be found as query string parameter in the headers sent in chrome. In this game I'm playing I see another piece of info being sending in the header called a payload request. I'm a confused as to how this is read, used, made, how I can reduplicate this? Here is something similar: Chrome is caching an HTTP PUT request and How to retrieve Request Payload

  • Jquery Uploader not saving to a folder in the site root

In the UploadHander.php I have the following settings 'script_url' => $this->get_full_url().'/', 'upload_dir' => dirname($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']).'./images/machinery/', 'upload_url' => $this->get_full_url().'./images/machinery/', This results in an image uploaded url that looks like this http://domain.com/rcsetch/up/server/php/machinery/image.jpg Other than putting my php files in the root of the website, im not sure how to get it to work, as what I want it to do is upload the files to http://domain.com/images/machinery and not to the create a folder in the directory where all the php files for the uploader are located.

  • How to call PHP proxy script from JQuery

    - by recipriversexclusion
I'm trying to get cross-domain Ajax to work. I downloaded a PHP proxy script from the Yahoo Developer site, ran it from command line and verified that it receives the XML from the server with a GET request. Now, I'm trying to connect to the PHP script within JS with no results. I have the following: <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.4.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $.ajax({ type:"GET", url:"proxy.php", dataType:"html", success:function(msg){ alert(msg); } }); </script> What this does, though, is to output the source of the PHP script in the alert box, not the XML! Where am I going wrong?

  • PHP, MySQL, jQuery, AJAX: json data returns correct response but frontend returns error

    - by Devner
    Hi all, I have a user registration form. I am doing server side validation on the fly via AJAX. The quick summary of my problem is that upon validating 2 fields, I get error for the second field validation. If I comment first field, then the 2nd field does not show any error. It has this weird behavior. More details below: The HTML, JS and Php code are below: HTML FORM: <form id="SignupForm" action=""> <fieldset> <legend>Free Signup</legend> <label for="username">Username</label> <input name="username" type="text" id="username" /><span id="status_username"></span><br /> <label for="email">Email</label> <input name="email" type="text" id="email" /><span id="status_email"></span><br /> <label for="confirm_email">Confirm Email</label> <input name="confirm_email" type="text" id="confirm_email" /><span id="status_confirm_email"></span><br /> </fieldset> <p> <input id="sbt" type="button" value="Submit form" /> </p> </form> JS: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#email").blur(function() { var email = $("#email").val(); var msgbox2 = $("#status_email"); if(email.length > 3) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'check_ajax2.php', data: "email="+ email, dataType: 'json', cache: false, success: function(data) { if(data.success == 'y') { alert('Available'); } else { alert('Not Available'); } } }); } return false; }); $("#confirm_email").blur(function() { var confirm_email = $("#confirm_email").val(); var email = $("#email").val(); var msgbox3 = $("#status_confirm_email"); if(confirm_email.length > 3) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'check_ajax2.php', data: 'confirm_email='+ confirm_email + '&email=' + email, dataType: 'json', cache: false, success: function(data) { if(data.success == 'y') { alert('Available'); } else { alert('Not Available'); } } , error: function (data) { alert('Some error'); } }); } return false; }); }); </script> PHP code: <?php //check_ajax2.php if(isset($_POST['email'])) { $email = $_POST['email']; $res = mysql_query("SELECT uid FROM members WHERE email = '$email' "); $i_exists = mysql_num_rows($res); if( 0 == $i_exists ) { $success = 'y'; $msg_email = 'Email available'; } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_email = 'Email is already in use.</font>'; } print json_encode(array('success' => $success, 'msg_email' => $msg_email)); } if(isset($_POST['confirm_email'])) { $confirm_email = $_POST['confirm_email']; $email = ( isset($_POST['email']) && trim($_POST['email']) != '' ? $_POST['email'] : '' ); $res = mysql_query("SELECT uid FROM members WHERE email = '$confirm_email' "); $i_exists = mysql_num_rows($res); if( 0 == $i_exists ) { if( isset($email) && isset($confirm_email) && $email == $confirm_email ) { $success = 'y'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email available and match'; } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email and Confirm Email do NOT match.'; } } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email already exists.'; } print json_encode(array('success' => $success, 'msg_confirm_email' => $msg_confirm_email)); } ?> THE PROBLEM: As long as I am validating the $_POST['email'] as well as $_POST['confirm_email'] in the check_ajax2.php file, the validation for confirm_email field always returns an error. With my limited knowledge of Firebug, however, I did find out that the following were the responses when I entered email and confirm_email in the fields: RESPONSE 1: {"success":"y","msg_email":"Email available"} RESPONSE 2: {"success":"y","msg_email":"Email available"}{"success":"n","msg_confirm_email":"Email and Confirm Email do NOT match."} Although the RESPONSE 2 shows that we are receiving the correct message via msg_confirm_email, in the front end, the alert 'Some error' is popping up (I have enabled the alert for debugging). I have spent 48 hours trying to change every part of the code wherever possible, but with only little success. What is weird about this is that if I comment the validation for $_POST['email'] field completely, then the validation for $_POST['confirm_email'] field is displaying correctly without any errors. If I enable it back, it is validating email field correctly, but when it reaches the point of validating confirm_email field, it is again showing me the error. I have also tried renaming success variable in check_ajax2.php page to other different names for both $_POST['email'] and $_POST['confirm_email'] but no success. I will be adding more fields in the form and validating within the check_ajax2.php page. So I am not planning on using different ajax pages for validating each of those fields (and I don't think it's smart to do it that way). I am not a jquery or AJAX guru, so all help in resolving this issue is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  • asp.net mvc custom routes with multiple submit buttons

    - by dangerisgo
So I have a custom route as such: routes.MapRoute( "Wizard", // Route name "Wizard/{page}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Wizard", action = "Index" } // Parameter defaults ); and have the following on my View: <% Html.BeginForm("Continue", "Wizard"); %> <input type="submit" value="Continue" name="Continue" /> <% Html.EndForm(); %> In which I want to call this function: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Continue(string Number, string Rev) { (...) } but in turn when that button is pressed always calls the postback Index rather than the one I want. If I remove the custom route, it calls my function, but what I want to be displayed in the address bar is: localhost:xxxx/Wizard/1 where the number at the end is the page (div shown) of the wizard either 1, 2, 3, or 4. So is there something I'm missing or can it not be done? Thanks.

  • Returning Json object from controller action to jQuery

    - by PsychoCoder
    I'm attempting to get this working properly (2 days now). I'm working on a log in where I'm calling the controller action from jQuery, passing it a JSON object (utilizing json2.js) and returning a Json object from the controller. I'm able to call the action fine, but instead of being able to put the response where I want it it just opens a new window with this printed on the screen: {"Message":"Invalid username/password combination"} And the URL looks like http://localhost:13719/Account/LogOn so instead of calling the action and not reloading the page it's taking the user to the controller, which isn't good. So now for some code, first the controller code [HttpPost] public ActionResult LogOn(LogOnModel model, string returnUrl = "") { if (ModelState.IsValid) { var login = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IRepository<PhotographerLogin>>(); var user = login.FindOne(x => x.Login == model.Username && x.Pwd == model.Password); if (user == null) return Json(new FailedLoginViewModel { Message = "Invalid username/password combination" }); else { if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(returnUrl)) return Redirect(returnUrl); else return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home"); } } return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home"); } And the jQuery code $("#signin_submit").click(function () { var login = getLogin(); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "../Account/LogOn", data: JSON.stringify(login), dataType: 'json', contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8', error: function (xhr) { $("#message").text(xhr.statusText); }, success: function (result) { } }); }); function getLogin() { var un = $("#username").val(); var pwd = $("#password").val(); var rememberMe = $("#rememberme").val(); return (un == "") ? null : { Username: un, Password: pwd, RememberMe: rememberMe }; } In case you need to see the actual login form here that is as well <fieldset id="signin_menu"> <div> <span id="message"></span> </div> <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %> <% using (Html.BeginForm("LogOn", "Account", FormMethod.Post, new { @id = "signin" })) {%> <% ViewContext.FormContext.ValidationSummaryId = "valLogOnContainer"; %> <%= Html.LabelFor(m => m.Username) %> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.Username, new { @class = "inputbox", @tabindex = "4", @id = "username" })%><%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(m => m.Username, "*")%> <p> <%= Html.LabelFor(m=>m.Password) %> <%= Html.PasswordFor(m => m.Password, new { @class = "inputbox", @tabindex = "5", @id = "password" })%><%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(m => m.Password, "*")%> </p> <p class="remember"> <input id="signin_submit" value="Sign in" tabindex="6" type="submit"/> <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(m => m.RememberMe, new { @class = "inputbox", @tabindex = "7", @id = "rememberme" })%> <%= Html.LabelFor(m => m.RememberMe) %> <p class="forgot"> <a href="#" id="forgot_password_link" title="Click here to reset your password.">Forgot your password?</a> </p> <p class="forgot-username"> <a href="#" id="forgot_username_link" title="Fogot your login name? We can help with that">Forgot your username?</a> </p> </p> <%= Html.ValidationSummaryJQuery("Please fix the following errors.", new Dictionary<string, object> { { "id", "valLogOnContainer" } })%> <% } %> </fieldset> The login form is loaded on the main page with <% Html.RenderPartial("LogonControl");%> Not sure if that has any bearing on this or not but thought I'd mention it. EDIT: The login form is loaded similar to the Twitter login, click a link and the form loads with the help of jQuery & CSS

  • jsonp cross domain only working in IE

    EDIT: At first I thought it wasn't working cross domain at all, now I realize it only works in IE I'm using jQuery to call a web service (ASP.NET .axmx), and trying to us jsonp so that I can call it across different sites. Right now it is working ONLY in IE, but not in Firefox, Chrome, Safari. Also, in IE, a dialog pops up warning "This page is accessing information that is not under its control..." Any ideas? Here is the code: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://test/TestService.asmx/HelloWorld?jsonp=?", dataType: "jsonp", success: function(data) { alert(data.prop1); }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert(XMLHttpRequest.status + " " + textStatus + " " + errorThrown); } }); And the server code is: [ScriptService] public class TestService : System.Web.Services.WebService{ [WebMethod] [ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public void HelloWorld() { string jsoncallback = HttpContext.Current.Request["jsonp"]; var response = string.Format("{0}({1});", jsoncallback, @"{'prop1' : '" + DateTime.Now.ToString() + "'}"); HttpContext.Current.Response.Write(response); } }

  • [JavaScript] How to get the uri of the .js file itself.

    - by Vikrant Chaudhary
Hi, is there a method in JavaScript by which I can find out the path/uri of the executing script. For example: index.html includes a JavaScript file stuff.js and since stuff.js file depends on ./commons.js, it wants to include it too in the page. Problem is that stuff.js only knows the relative path of ./commons.js from itself and has no clue of full url/path. index.html includes stuff.js file as <script src="http://example.net/js/stuff.js?key=value" /> and stuff.js file wants to read the value of key. How to?
