  • Chrome renders button links completely screwed up when placed inside a paragraph

    - by Ferdy
    I am fairly proficient in CSS but now I am running into a very strange rendering issue in Google Chrome 9. I am trying to create some fancy looking link buttons (basically heavily styled anchors). Here is some example markup: <a href="" class="button"> <figure class="sprite icon icon_back"></figure> Link button with icon</a> This markup may look a litte strange to you, there's a few things you should know: I am using HTML5's figure class to include an icon as part of the button. I have the proper reset CSS applied and Chrome can render this tag for sure. Instead of actually pointing to an image I am applying CSS classes to the figure element. Within the CSS I am using the spriting technique to show the correct portion of a single large sprite image. All of this is working fine in Firefox, and actually also in Chrome. The correct rendering can be seen in the following image: It renders like that in both Firefox and Chrome. Here comes the problem, if I place such a button within paragraph tags <p></p> this is what happens in Chrome only: Notice how the button is ripped apart? Only in Chrome and only when placed inside a paragraph. It gets even stranger: this only happens for the first button inside the paragraph, if I would place three buttons inside a paragraph, only the 1st one is screwed up. Your first question would probably be about the CSS. It is rather verbose so hereby a temporary link to the page in question: Edit: link to live page removed, was only temporary for problem inspection.

  • retrieve image from gallery in android

    - by smsys
    I have created an Activity where i have a Button. By pressing the button an android Gallery opens. When i choose an image from the gallery it is shows it in an ImageView of my Activity but after choosing second time the following error occuring 01-13 17:55:25.323: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(14899): java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget Here is the source code i am using: public class MyImage extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ Gallery gallery; private Uri[] mUrls; String[] mFiles=null; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); File images = Environment.getDataDirectory(); File[] imagelist = images.listFiles(); mFiles = new String[imagelist.length]; for(int i= 0 ; i< imagelist.length; i++) { mFiles[i] = imagelist[i].getAbsolutePath(); } mUrls = new Uri[mFiles.length]; for(int i=0; i < mFiles.length; i++) { mUrls[i] = Uri.parse(mFiles[i]); } Gallery g = (Gallery) findViewById(R.id.Gallery01); g.setAdapter(new ImageAdapter(this)); g.setFadingEdgeLength(40); } public class ImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter{ int mGalleryItemBackground; public ImageAdapter(Context c) { mContext = c; } public int getCount(){ return mUrls.length; } public Object getItem(int position){ return position; } public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent){ ImageView i = new ImageView(mContext); i.setImageURI(mUrls[position]); i.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.FIT_XY); i.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(260, 210)); return i; } private Context mContext; } }

  • Is there an efficient way in LINQ to use a contains match if and only if there is no exact match?

    - by Peter
    I have an application where I am taking a large number of 'product names' input by a user and retrieving some information about each product. The problem is, the user may input a partial name or even a wrong name, so I want to return the closest matches for further selection. Essentially if product name A exactly matches a record, return that, otherwise return any contains matches. Otherwise return null. I have done this with three separate statements, and I was wondering if there was a more efficient way to do this. I am using LINQ to EF, but I materialize the products to a list first for performance reasons. productNames is a List of product names (input by the user). products is a List of product 'records' var directMatches = (from s in productNames join p in products on s.ToLower() equals p.name.ToLower() into result from r in result.DefaultIfEmpty() select new {Key = s, Product = r}); var containsMatches = (from d in directMatches from p in products where d.Product == null && p.name.ToLower().Contains(d.Key) select new { d.Key, Product = p }); var matches = from d in directMatches join c in containsMatches on d.Key equals c.Key into result from r in result.DefaultIfEmpty() select new {d.Key, Product = d.Product ?? (r != null ? r.Product: null) };

  • Why does this bash command take up all space on device?

    - by chelmertz
    Hey! I'm a little new on searching via bash, so feel free to give me suggestions on the methods to use instead of this, which I'll never use again :) I'm searching for occurances of a string, recursively in a directory, with ~50 not-that-large php-files in it; some in current directory, some in directories beneath current dir, three levels of directories down at most. The method I'm using is: find . | xargs grep "module" > module.txt When in simple (one level) directories, this works fine, but in this case, the file became 4 GB large until it filled up all space on the partition :) It wasn't even done yet.. Would someone educate me so I won't embarass myself again?

  • python processs complete list files matched

    - by thomytheyon
    Hi All, I'm trying to get a simple code working, unfortunatly im a python beginner. My script should return a list of files that doesn't match a pattern, more information here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2910106/python-grep-reverse-matching/2910288#2910288 My code is running but doesn't process the complete list of files found as it should : import sys,os filefilter = ['.xml','java','.jsp','lass'] path= "/home/patate/code/project" s = "helloworld" for path, subdirs, files in os.walk(path): for name in files: if name[-4:] in filefilter : f = str(os.path.join(path, name)) with open(f) as fp: if s in fp.read(): print "%s has the string" % f else: print "%s doesn't have the string" % f This code return : /home/patate/code/project/blabla/blabla/build.xml doesn't have the string None If i change f = str(os.path.join(path, name)) for print str(os.path.join(path, name)) I can see the whole list being printed. How can i process the whole list as i which to ? :( Thanks again.

  • How would I create a VIM or Vi command to delete all text after a certain character for every line i

    - by Jason Down
    Scenario: I have a text file that has pipe (as in the "|" character) delimited data. Each field of data in the pipe delimited fields can be of variable length, so counting characters won't work (or using some sort of substring function... if that even exists in VIM). Is it possible, using VIM / Vi to delete all data from the second pipe to the end of the line for the entire file? There are approx 150,000 lines, so doing this manually would only be appealing to a masochist... e.g. Change the following lines from: 1111|random sized text 12345|more random data la la la|1111|abcde 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk|la la la la|2222|defgh 3333|random sized text|more random data|33333|ijklmnop to: 1111|random sized text 12345 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk 3333|random sized text I'm sure this can be done somehow... I hope. TIA UPDATE: I should have mentioned that I'm running this on Windows XP, so I don't have access to some of the mentioned *nix commands (CUT is not recognized on Windows).

  • Problems with Database Search Code (asp.net vb)

    Here is a sample of my database search code: Dim sql As String = "Select * From Table Where " Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim andor As Boolean = AndOr1.SelectedValue 'selection can be AND or OR (0 / 1) 'Code for when the user selects AND If NameSearch.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 0 Then sql += "Surname LIKE '%" & name & "%' AND " End If If EmailSearch.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 0 Then sql += "Email LIKE '%" & email & "%' AND " End If If CitySearchBox.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 0 Then sql += "City LIKE '%" & city & "%' AND " End If 'Code for when the user selects OR If NameSearch.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 1 Then sql += "(Surname LIKE '%" & name & "%' OR " End If If EmailSearch.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 1 Then sql += "Email LIKE '%" & email & "%') OR " End If If CitySearchBox.Text.ToString IsNot String.Empty And andor = 1 Then sql += "(City LIKE '%" & city & "%' OR " End If sql = CleanString(sql) End Sub When the user selects AND (as andor.selectedvalue(0)) then the sql is produced fine like this; Select * From Table Where Surname LIKE '%test%' AND Email LIKE '%test%' AND City LIKE '%test%' But if the user selects OR (as andor.selectedvalue(1)), nothing is outputted except; Select * From Table Where Im sure the controls have values so are not string.empty and when the user selects OR the correct value 1 is being assigned to andor.

How would I compute the worst case complexity in terms of number of rotations for this BST to AVL conversion algorithm? IF tree is right heavy { IF tree's right subtree is left heavy { Perform Double Left rotation } ELSE { Perform Single Left rotation } } ELSE IF tree is left heavy { IF tree's left subtree is right heavy { Perform Double Right rotation } ELSE { Perform Single Right rotation } }

  • Google App engine Url Mapping using WSGIAppl and regx grouping Help Needed

    - by spidee
    Hi take this example from google docs class BrowseHandler(webapp.RequestHandler): > def get(self, category, product_id): > # Display product with given ID in the given category. > > > # Map URLs like /browse/(category)/(product_id) to > BrowseHandler. application = > webapp.WSGIApplication([(r'/browse/(.*)/(.*)', > BrowseHandler) > ], > debug=True) > > def main(): > run_wsgi_app(application) > > if __name__ == '__main__': > main() How can i change the regx groupings so that Product id is optional ie the url http://yourdomain.com/category will be sent to the browse handler in the current above example you must add a product id or at least the / after the category ie http://yourdomain.com/category/ r'/browse/(.)/(.)' Any ideas?

  • Rails: Obfuscating Image URLs on Amazon S3? (security concern)

    - by neezer
    To make a long explanation short, suffice it to say that my Rails app allows users to upload images to the app that they will want to keep in the app (meaning, no hotlinking). So I'm trying to come up with a way to obfuscate the image URLs so that the address of the image depends on whether or not that user is logged in to the site, so if anyone tried hotlinking to the image, they would get a 401 access denied error. I was thinking that if I could route the request through a controller, I could re-use a lot of the authorization I've already built into my app, but I'm stuck there. What I'd like is for my images to be accessible through a URL to one of my controllers, like: http://railsapp.com/images/obfuscated?member_id=1234&pic_id=7890 If the user where to right-click on the image displayed on the website and select "Copy Address", then past it in, it would be the SAME url (as in, wouldn't betray where the image is actually hosted). The actual image would be living on a URL like this: http://s3.amazonaws.com/s3username/assets/member_id/pic_id.extension Is this possible to accomplish? Perhaps using Rails' render method? Or something else? I know it's possible for PHP to return the correct headers to make the browser think it's an image, but I don't know how to do this in Rails... UPDATE: I want all users of the app to be able to view the images if and ONLY if they are currently logged on to the site. If the user does not have a currently active session on the site, accessing the images directly should yield a generic image, or an error message.

  • Android - Memory leak when dynamically building UI with image resource backgrounds

    - by Rich
    I have an Activity that I swear is leaking memory. The app I'm working on does a lot with images, so I've had to be pretty stingy with memory when working directly with Bitmaps. I added an Activity, and now if you use this new Activity it basically puts me over the edge with mem usage and I end up throwing the "Bitmap exceeds VM budget" exception. If you never launch this Activity, everything is smooth as it was previously. I started reading about memory leaks, and I think that I have a similar situation to what is described in the article in the Android docs. I'm dynamically creating a bunch of image views and adding a BackgroundDrawable from the resources and adding an OnClickListener as well. I imagine I have to do some cleanup when the Activity hits onPause in its life cycle, but I'd like to know specifically what is the correct way. Here is the code that should demonstrate the objects I'm working with... LinearLayout templateContainer; . . . ImageView imgTemplatePreview = (ImageView) item.findViewById(R.id.imgTemplatePreview); . . . imgTemplatePreview.setBackgroundDrawable(getResources().getDrawable(previewId)); imgTemplatePreview.setOnClickListener(imgClick); templateContainer.addView(item);

  • generic binary Search in c#

    - by Pro_Zeck
    Below is my Generic Binary Search it works ok with the intgers type array it finds all the elements in it . But the Problem Arises when i use a string array to find any string data. It runs ok for the first index and last index elements but i cant find the middle elements. Stringarray = new string[] { "b", "a", "ab", "abc", "c" }; public static void BinarySearch<T>(T[] array, T searchFor, Comparer<T> comparer) { int high, low, mid; high = array.Length - 1; low = 0; if (array[0].Equals(searchFor)) Console.WriteLine("Value {0} Found At Index {1}",array[0],0); else if (array[high].Equals(searchFor)) Console.WriteLine("Value {0} Found At Index {1}", array[high], high); else { while (low <= high) { mid = (high + low) / 2; if (comparer.Compare(array[mid], searchFor) == 0) { Console.WriteLine("Value {0} Found At Index {1}", array[mid], mid); break; } else { if (comparer.Compare(searchFor, array[mid]) > 0) high = mid + 1; else low = mid + 1; } } if (low > high) { Console.WriteLine("Value Not Found In the Collection"); } } }

  • Solr; What does this mean?

    - by Camran
    At the end of the README.txt file which is located in the example directory under solr, I find this line: NOTE: This Solr example server references SolrCell jars outside of the server directory with statements in the solrconfig.xml. If you make a copy of this example server and wish to use the ExtractingRequestHandler (SolrCell), you will need to copy the required jars into solr/lib or update the paths to the jars in your solrconfig.xml What does this mean? Do I have to make some adjustment before uploading solr to my server? Also, if you know, what is Solr-nightly:s difference to regular solr? The tutorial states "solr-nightly.zip" but on their download section I cant find it.

  • Custom Image Button and Radio/Toggle Button from Common Base Class

    - by Wonko the Sane
    Hi All, I would like to create a set of custom controls that are basically image buttons (it's a little more complex than that, but that's the underlying effect I'm going for) that I've seen a few different examples for. However, I would like to further extend that to also allow radio/toggle buttons. What I'd like to do is have a common abstract class called ImageButtonBase that has default implementations for ImageSource and Text, etc. That makes a regular ImageButton implementation pretty easy. The issue I am having is creating the RadioButton flavor of it. As I see it, there are at least three options: It would be easy to create something that derives from RadioButton, but then I can't use the abstract class I've created. I could change the abstract class to an interface, but then I lose the abstract implementations, and will in fact have duplication of code. I could derive from my abstract class, and re-implement the RadioButton-type properties and events (IsChecked, GroupName, etc.), but that certainly doesn't seem like a great idea. Note: I have seen http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2362641/how-to-get-a-group-of-toggle-buttons-to-act-like-radio-buttons-in-wpf, but what I want to do is a little more complex. I'm just wondering if anybody has an example of an implementation, or something that might be adapted to this kind of scenario. I can see pros and cons of each of the ideas above, but each comes with potential pitfalls. Thanks, wTs

  • Is this linear search implementation actually useful?

    - by Helper Method
    In Matters Computational I found this interesting linear search implementation (it's actually my Java implementation ;-)): public static int linearSearch(int[] a, int key) { int high = a.length - 1; int tmp = a[high]; // put a sentinel at the end of the array a[high] = key; int i = 0; while (a[i] != key) { i++; } // restore original value a[high] = tmp; if (i == high && key != tmp) { return NOT_CONTAINED; } return i; } It basically uses a sentinel, which is the searched for value, so that you always find the value and don't have to check for array boundaries. The last element is stored in a temp variable, and then the sentinel is placed at the last position. When the value is found (remember, it is always found due to the sentinel), the original element is restored and the index is checked if it represents the last index and is unequal to the searched for value. If that's the case, -1 (NOT_CONTAINED) is returned, otherwise the index. While I found this implementation really clever, I wonder if it is actually useful. For small arrays, it seems to be always slower, and for large arrays it only seems to be faster when the value is not found. Any ideas?

  • DFS Backtracking with java

    - by Cláudio Ribeiro
    I'm having problems with DFS backtracking in an adjacency matrix. Here's my code: (i added the test to the main in case someone wants to test it) public class Graph { private int numVertex; private int numEdges; private boolean[][] adj; public Graph(int numVertex, int numEdges) { this.numVertex = numVertex; this.numEdges = numEdges; this.adj = new boolean[numVertex][numVertex]; } public void addEdge(int start, int end){ adj[start-1][end-1] = true; adj[end-1][start-1] = true; } List<Integer> visited = new ArrayList<Integer>(); public Integer DFS(Graph G, int startVertex){ int i=0; if(pilha.isEmpty()) pilha.push(startVertex); for(i=1; i<G.numVertex; i++){ pilha.push(i); if(G.adj[i-1][startVertex-1] != false){ G.adj[i-1][startVertex-1] = false; G.adj[startVertex-1][i-1] = false; DFS(G,i); break; }else{ visited.add(pilha.pop()); } System.out.println("Stack: " + pilha); } return -1; } Stack<Integer> pilha = new Stack(); public static void main(String[] args) { Graph g = new Graph(6, 9); g.addEdge(1, 2); g.addEdge(1, 5); g.addEdge(2, 4); g.addEdge(2, 5); g.addEdge(2, 6); g.addEdge(3, 4); g.addEdge(3, 5); g.addEdge(4, 5); g.addEdge(6, 4); g.DFS(g, 1); } } I'm trying to solve the euler path problem. the program solves basic graphs but when it needs to backtrack, it just does not do it. I think the problem might be in the stack manipulations or in the recursive dfs call. I've tried a lot of things, but still can't seem to figure out why it does not backtrack. Can somebody help me ?
