  • How can I change timezone in Wordpress 2.9.2?

    I have changed timezone from General Settings, but that had no effect, time still shows as default UTC time zone. Then I changed timezone in wp-settings.php with date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Helsinki'); but that din't work either. What could be wrong with my settings and why isn't timezone changing?

    I am trying to block all default methods except create and update in my users controller using declerative_authorization. But at the time I add filter_resource_access or filter_access_to into my usersController i always get "Couldn't find User without an ID". I go to the C/program files/mozilla/firefox folder ..but I don't see the images/buttons they used for the default theme of the program Also, photoshop and other programs: how are the buttons, images, and other media stored (not in a folder from what I see)? same thing when I made a simple program in visual c++, i don't see where the icon is located at? thanksvery much

  • Faster code with another compiler

    I'm using the standard gcc compiler in math software development with C-language. I don't know that much about compilers or compiler options, and I was just wondering, is it possible to make faster executables using another compiler or choosing better options? The default Makefile sets options -ffast-math and -O3 and I think both of them have some impact in the overall calculation time. My software is using memory quite extensively, so I imagine some options related to memory management might do the trick? Any ideas?

  • How do I declare a constructor for an 'object' class type in Scala? I.e., a one time operation for the singleton.

    I know that objects are treated pretty much like singletons in scala. However, I have been unable to find an elegant way to specify default behavior on initial instantiation. I can accomplish this by just putting code into the body of the object declaration but this seems overly hacky. Using an apply doesn't really work because it can be called multiple times and doesn't really make sense for this use case. Any ideas on how to do this?

    I have "Selected Text" color set to a default value in vs 2010 RGB 51,153,253. But really in text editor it is RGB 173,214,255 that is slightly darker. The same things are with some other colors, e.g. Resharper Dead Code. What can it be a problem and how should I solve it?

    We have server on Python and client + web service on Ruby. That works only if file from URL is less than 800 k. It seems like "socket.puts data" in a client works, but "output = socket.gets" - not. I think problem is in a Python part. For big files tests run "Connection reset by peer". Is it buffer size variable by default somewhere in a Python?
