  • Moving an element with InsertAfter, but only insert it the parent of the elements?

    - by alexchenco
I did the following: jQuery('.businessdirectory-category .wpbdp-rating-info').insertAfter('.businessdirectory-category .title'); To move .wpbdp-rating-info after .title. But there are 3 .wpbdp-rating-info in the page so now each .businessdirectory-category has 3 .wpbdp-rating-info How can I do it so that each .businessdirectory-category only has its own .wpbdp-rating-infoappended to its own.title`? • Simple html page using Bootstrap

    - by Athashri
    I am writing a simple HTML page using the Twitter Bootstrap. But the navbar and links are rendered as normal HTML on the browser. I have referred to multiple sites but the same steps are given everywhere. I am not sure where I am going wrong. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <link rel= "stylesheet" href= "css/bootstrap.css" type="text/css"> <title> Bootstrap example</title> </head> <body> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.0/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="js/bootstrap.js"></script> <h1>Hello, world!</h1> <div class ="container"> <h1><a href="#">Bootstrap Site</a></h1> <div class="navbar"> <div class="navbar-inner"> <div class="container"> <ul class="nav"> <li class="active"><a href="#">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#">Projects</a></li> <li><a href="#">Services</a></li> <li><a href="#">Downloads</a></li> <li><a href="#">About</a></li> <li><a href="#">Contact</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html>

  • IE7/IE8 javascript drop down menu used to redirect not working

    - by Robbiegod
The error I see from IE7/IE8 in Jquery v1.7.2 and v.1.7.1 - i tried both: SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support property or method 'apply' My Code: <form> <select id="stateD" OnChange="showState()"> <option value="none" selected="selected">==========</option> <option value="http://www.google.com">google</option> <option value="http://www.yahoo.com">Yahoo</option> </select> </form> My Javascript - I have this pasted just below the webform: <script type="text/javascript"> function showState(){ oStates = document.getElementById("stateD"); var jLink = $("#stateD :selected").val(); if (jLink == undefined || jLink == "none" ){ alert("Please Select a State"); } else{ document.location.href=jLink}; } </script> I'm not using 2 libraries so i don't get why its having a problem. All that is supposed to happen is you select a url from the drop down menu and it auto sends you to that url that is in the value of the option tag. Works everywhere else, not sure why IE has to be such a jerk today. I'd post a url but i can't at the moment. its private. has anyone encountered this issue before?

  • fancybox image sometimes renders outside box

    - by Colleen
    I have the following django template: <script type="text/javascript" src="{{ STATIC_URL }}js/ jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.pack.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="{{ STATIC_URL }}css/ jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> {% include "submission-form.html" with section="photos" %} <div class="commentables"> {% load thumbnail %} {% for story in objects %} <div class="image {% if forloop.counter|add:"-1"| divisibleby:picsinrow %}left{% else %}{% if forloop.counter| divisibleby:picsinrow %}right{% else %}middle{% endif %}{% endif %}"> {% if story.image %} {% thumbnail story.image size crop="center" as full_im %} <a rel="gallery" href="{% url post slug=story.slug %}"> <img class="preview" {% if story.title %} alt="{{ story.title }}" {% endif %} src="{{ full_im.url }}" full- image="{% if story.image_url %}{{ story.image_url }}{% else %} {{ story.image.url }}{% endif %}"> </a> {% endthumbnail %} {% else %} {% if story.image_url %} {% thumbnail story.image_url size crop="center" as full_im %} <a rel="gallery" href="{% url post slug=story.slug %}"> <img class="preview" {% if story.title %} alt="{{ story.title }}" {% endif %} src="{{ full_im.url }}" full- image="{{ story.image_url }}"> </a> {% endthumbnail %} {% endif %} {% endif %} </div> {% endfor %} {% if rowid != "last" %} <br style="clear: both" /> {% endif %} {% if not no_more_button %} <p style="text-align: right;" class="more-results"><a href="{% url images school_slug tag_slug %}">more...</a></p> {% endif %} </div> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ function changeattr(e){ var f = $(e.clone()); $(f.children()[0]).attr('src', $(f.children() [0]).attr("full-image")); $(f.children()[0]).attr('height', '500px'); return f[0].outerHTML; } $('.image a').each(function(idx, elem) { var e = $(elem); e.fancybox({ title: $(e.children()[0]).attr('alt'), content: changeattr(e) }); }); }); </script> and I'm occasionally getting weird display errors where the box will either not render anything at all (so it will show up as just a thin white bar, basically) or it will render only about 30 px wide, and position itself halfway down the page. In both cases, if I inspect element, I can see the "shadow" of the full picture, at the right size, with the right url. Image source doesnt' seem to make a difference, I'm getting no errors, and this is happening in both chrome and firefox. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Validation and Firefox's input caching

    - by Chris Simpson
When you refresh/reload a page or use the back button, Firefox is kind enough to repopulate your inputs with what was entered before you navigated away. Though this is a nice feature it does not trigger my jquery validation and the unsaved changes warning I add to my pages. Is there a way to either disable this feature in Firefox (without renaming every control every time) or capture the firefox events?

  • How to access child element out of children()?

    - by user291701
Hi, I'd like to get the # of immediate children an element has, and then get the class of a child at a particular index. Something like: var index = 25; var children = $("#myListElement").children(); if (index < children.length) { if (children[index].hasClass("testClass")) { alert("hi!"); } } I think the syntax for .children() is ok, but how do I get the indexed element out of them in jquery style? Thanks

  • jqueryUI Slider: Setting minimum and maximum values in range from DB

    - by alexBrand
I have a jQueryUI slider on my website that deals with price range. I have a products table in mysql that has various entries. I am using the slider to filter the results, but I need to set the minimum and maximum prices from the records in my database. Should I just generate (with php) hidden fields in my html that contain the minimum and maximum and then use jQuery to obtain them? Or is there a better way of achieving this, maybe using AJAX? Thanks

  • How to convert string to XML object in JavaScript?

    - by Jack Roscoe
Hi, I am aware of this question already existing, but it has given me no luck. I have an application which loads a physicial XML document via the following method: jQuery.ajax( { type: "GET", url: fileName, dataType: "xml", success: function(data) { etc... I parse the XML and convert it into a string which is saved into a variable so that it can easily be stored in a database. How can I now convert the data in this variable back into an XML object so that it can be parsed as such?
