    I need to catch that exception but I can't figure out which one it is. The IDE i'm using right now doesn't allow for a program interrupt that way. I know how to user try/catch, but I don't actually know what I'm trying to catch.. Can anyone help me with this?

  • why do i see THROW in a C library

    When I do: less /usr/include/stdio.h (which is only a C library - nothing to do with C++) I see __THROW after quite a few function declarations. Also, comments above a few functions say that 'This function is a possible cancellation point and therefore not marked with __THROW' What is all this for? THROW is meant to be for exception handling.. but as far as I know, C doesn't provide any support for it... Plz explain.

    I get an Invalid Operation Exception when inserting records in a View that uses “Instead of” triggers in SQL Server with ADO.NET Entity Framework 4.   • JFrame is not acting as expected!

    This is my first time using a JFrame. I can't get the window to display the text areas I've nested inside the JFrame.   • DebuggerDisplay attribute does not work as expected!

    Dear ladies and sirs. I know that this attribute should work in C# and yet, in my case it does not. I have a class with a lazy property Children. Accessing this property may have a side effect of roundtripping to the server. So, naturally, I do not want this to happen when I just watch it in the debugger watch window. Omitting all the irrelevant details the source looks pretty ordinary: [DebuggerDisplay("(Frozen) {m_children}")] public IList<IEntityBase> Children { get { if (m_children == null) { m_children = FetchChildrenFromDB(this); } return m_children; } } And yet, when I watch the object and expand this in the watch window I do not see (Frozen) in the display, meaning the debugger simply ignores the attribute.   • Bad_alloc exception when using new for a struct c++

    Hi, I am writing a query processor which allocates large amounts of memory and tries to find matching documents. Whenever I find a match, I create a structure to hold two variables describing the document and add it to a priority queue. Since there is no way of knowing how many times I will do this, I tried creating my structs dynamically using new. When I pop a struct off the priority queue, the queue (STL priority queue implementation) is supposed to call the object's destructor. My struct code has no destructor, so I assume a default destructor is called in that case. However, the very first time that I try to create a DOC struct, I get the following error: Unhandled exception at 0x7c812afb in QueryProcessor.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0012f5dc.. I don't understand what's happening - have I used up so much memory that the heap is full? It doesn't seem likely. And it's not as if I've even used that pointer before. So: first of all, what am I doing that's causing the error, and secondly, will the following code work more than once? Do I need to have a separate pointer for each struct created, or can I re-use the same temporary pointer and assume that the queue will keep a pointer to each struct?     I prepared 2 files, "1.php" and "2.php". It starts a transaction and waits 55 seconds. So when I immediately excute "2.php", my expectation is this: "1.php" is getting transaction and "1" holds a database lock "2" can not begin a transaction "2" can not get database lock so "2" have to wait 55 seconds BUT, but the test went another way. When I excute "2",then "2" immediately returned it's result "2" did not wait so I have to think that "1" could not get transaction, or could not get database lock. Can anyone help?

So I run the following jquery $("#object_list").empty(); $("#object_list").append('<ul'); $("#object_list").append(list.contents()); $("#object_list").append('</ul>'); After that code runs, #object_list looks like this <div id="object_list"> <ul></ul> ...list.contents() elements </div> Even after debugging, if I do another $("#object_list").append('<ul>'); all I get is an added <ul> after the </ul>. Why is jquery not appending to the html AFTER the list.contents(), but is going before it?

  • Django "Page not found" error page shows only one of two expected urls

    I'm working with Django, admittedly for the first time doing anything real. The URL config looks like the following: urlpatterns = patterns('my_site.core_prototype.views', (r'^newpost/$', 'newPost'), (r'^$', 'NewPostAndDisplayList'), # capture nothing... #more here... - perhaps the perma-links? ) This is in an app's url.py which is loaded from the project's url.py via: urlpatterns = patterns('', # only app for now. (r'^$', include('my_site.core_prototype.urls')), ) The problem is, when I receive a 404 attempting to utilize newpost, the error page only shows the ^$ -- it seems to ignore the newpost pattern... I'm sure the solution is probably stupid-simple but right now I'm missing it. Can someone help get me on the right track...

  • Jquery .Show() .Hide() not working as expected

    I'm trying to use the show and hide to display a different set of select options when a certain report type is selected. I have a couple problems with this: The .show .hide only execute properly if I pass params, slow fast, in the the first result of my conditional statement. If I take out the params or pass params in both results, only one select shows and it never changes.. here's is the code that currently kind of works. if ($('#ReportType').val() == 'PbuseExport') { $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); } else { $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); } After i've used this control I am taken to a differnt page. When I use the control again, it reatins the original search values and repopulates the control. Then again I only want to show one select option if a certain report is chosen.. This works correctly if the report type I originally searched on is not the "PbuseExport". If I searched on the report type "PbuseExport", then both selects show on the screen, and only until I change the report type does it show only one select. I know this probably isn't very clear..
