• What is wrong here (will update): subset in geom_point does not work as expected

  I ask the following in the hope that someone might come up with a generic description about the problem.Basically I have no idea whats wrong with my code. When I run the code below, plot nr. 8 turns out wrong. Specifically the subset in geom_point does not work the way it should. If somebody can tell me what the problem is, I'll update this post.   In Rails 3 (beta 3 on 1.8.7), when calling to_json on a relation i get a circular reference exception. Converting that relation to an array first, and THEN calling to_json works. Code That fails: Model.where().to_json (Where model is any model in your Rails 3 app) Code that works: Model.where().to_a.to_json This can be reproed on the console. Has anyone else run in to this? • Bad_alloc exception when using new for a struct c++

  Hi, I am writing a query processor which allocates large amounts of memory and tries to find matching documents. Whenever I find a match, I create a structure to hold two variables describing the document and add it to a priority queue. Since there is no way of knowing how many times I will do this, I tried creating my structs dynamically using new. When I pop a struct off the priority queue, the queue (STL priority queue implementation) is supposed to call the object's destructor. My struct code has no destructor, so I assume a default destructor is called in that case. However, the very first time that I try to create a DOC struct, I get the following error: Unhandled exception at 0x7c812afb in QueryProcessor.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0012f5dc.. I don't understand what's happening - have I used up so much memory that the heap is full? It doesn't seem likely. And it's not as if I've even used that pointer before. So: first of all, what am I doing that's causing the error, and secondly, will the following code work more than once? Do I need to have a separate pointer for each struct created, or can I re-use the same temporary pointer and assume that the queue will keep a pointer to each struct?   I have an Excel worksheet in XML format which contains <Cell ss:StyleID="s127"><Data ss:Type="String">A01-Replace</Data></Cell> I want to replace @A01-Replace with a different string. I'm using the XQuery's replace function like so: let $excel := doc("excel.xml") let $test := "another string" return replace($excel, "(A[0-9]+-Replace)", $test) Before calling replace, the variable $excel is valid XML upon output. However, when I output $excel after I call the replace function, all of the XML tags have been stripped, and $excel is a string with the content of the cells as its values. I would like to keep the XML tags there. Any ideas?

• Problems finding classes in namespace and testing extend expected parent

  So I am in the process of building a site in ASP.Net MVC, and in the process I am adding certain things to my Site.Master I want to make sure that all of my model classes extend a certain base class that contains all of the pieces the Site.Master needs to be operable. I want to test to make sure this assumption isn't broken (I believe this will save me time when I forget about it and can't figure out why a new combination isn't working.) I wrote a test that I thought would help with this, but I am running into two problems. First it isn't finding the one example model class I have so far in the LINQ call all of a sudden, I am admittedly still a bit new to LINQ. Second, I had it finding the class earlier, but I couldn't get it to verify that the class inherits from the base class. Here is the example test. • Jquery .Show() .Hide() not working as expected

  I'm trying to use the show and hide to display a different set of select options when a certain report type is selected. I have a couple problems with this: The .show .hide only execute properly if I pass params, slow fast, in the the first result of my conditional statement. If I take out the params or pass params in both results, only one select shows and it never changes.. here's is the code that currently kind of works. if ($('#ReportType').val() == 'PbuseExport') { $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); } else { $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); } After i've used this control I am taken to a differnt page. When I use the control again, it reatins the original search values and repopulates the control. Then again I only want to show one select option if a certain report is chosen.. This works correctly if the report type I originally searched on is not the "PbuseExport". If I searched on the report type "PbuseExport", then both selects show on the screen, and only until I change the report type does it show only one select. I know this probably isn't very clear..   imagecopyresized ( resource $dst_image , resource $src_image , int $dst_x , int $dst_y , int $src_x , int $src_y , int $dst_w , int $dst_h , int $src_w , int $src_h ) This is what I want to do: I have an image that's 600x1000px in size, and I want to create a thumb that's 100x100px after resizing that image to 300x500px, the x coordinate for the top left point of the thumb square should be at 100(src x) and 120(src y). According to what I understand from the manual, the command should be $dst_image = imagecreatetruecolor(100,100); $src_image = imagecreatefromjpeg('/home/sandbox/imagetoresize.jpg'); imagecopyresized ($dst_image, $src_image, 0, 0, 100, 120, **300 , 500 , 600 , 1000** ) It is cropping the image just fine, but it isn't resizing it correctly. I never got it to match what I see in my image editor (the GIMP). What am I doing wrong? I confirmed that all the numbers are correct, but it's always shifted up or down no matter what I do. Your help would really be appreciated!

  If anybody can help me to write a loop to iterate over files in a folder it would save me a huge amount of time. I think it must be quite a simple solution ,but I currently don't know how to nest a loop within a loop. So I'd need a loop that does this for file in folder, and also that uses the name of the file as part of the outputfile name so that I can match an output file to an inputfile.
