• Connecting to SFTP service via Java Runtime process

  Under my project, I have a Java class file, inside of which I have a routine which executes the following external SFTP script file: #!/bin/sh echo "cd AV/OASIS" >> sftp echo "put $1 $2" >> sftp echo "get AV/OASIS/$2 $3$2" >> sftp echo "bye" >> sftp /usr/local/bin/sftp -b sftp id@domain cat /dev/null > sftp exit 0 The Java code which executes the script file is as below: String script = "full path of script"; Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(script + " " + param1 + " " + param2 + " " + param3); However, I'm not sure why, but the log generated by the class file always shows the error "Host key verification failed. Connection closed." I'd isolated that line in the script which connected to the remote machine, and ran it on the local machine (where this class file and script file are stored), and the command executed successfully I'd manually run the command which the Java class file will execute and it also tested okay: $ script.sh param1 param2 param3 I'd tried to look up the error message on the Internet, and apparently it seems to have something to do with known_hosts. Could this be the reason, or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks so much!

• File transfer eating alot of CPU

  I'm trying to transfer a file over a IHttpHandler, the code is pretty simple. However when i start a single transfer it uses about 20% of the CPU. If i were to scale this to 20 simultaneous transfers the CPU is very high.   Complete and utter neophyte to Objective-C and the entire Mac platform so don't flame me please =). Basically I'm trying to create a simple game. The game has a board which I've created a class for and a board is comprised of squares which I also created a class for (board and square respectively). In my view controller I'm trying to instantiate a board and add boardSize^2 squares to said object. board contains an NSMutableArray *squares. I've also created a convenience method which sets an NSNumber *boardSize called initWithDimension. In my touchesBegan handler I have the following: board *game_board = [[board alloc] initWithDimension:10]; int size = [game_board.boardSize intValue]; for(int i = 0; i <= size; i++) { square *s = [[square alloc] init]; [game_board.squares addObject:s]; [s release]; } NSLog(@"%i", size); NSLog(@"%@", [game_board.squares objectAtIndex:0]); ...and I'm getting 10 (as expected) and then (null). This is probably glaringly obvious to an experienced developer, I've just struggled for an hour trying to solve it and have given up. I've tried it without the [s release] as well, same result. I've also imported square.h and board.h. Any ideas what's wrong here? Any other comments on what I'm brutalizing? Thanks.

• Javascript to PHP, mysql uploading, one button pressing solution

  my program is generating buttons from a mysql database.When one of the button is pressed, it would uplod the current time and the gps coordinate. Sadly, it only works if the same button is pressed twice, but its not an option, because the button has to dissappear. • Flex 3 - Saving an image of a component

  Im currently trying to work the imageSnapshot function in flex. Ive been looking hard but I cant seem to find a solution to my problem. I wish to take a screenshot of one of my components, to capture the final output of my program, since a plain "printscreen" cuts off some of the output due to it scrolling. My current code looks like - <mx:ApplicationControlBar dock="true"> <mx:Button label="Take snapshot of Profile" click="takeSnapshot();" /> </mx:ApplicationControlBar> Which when called does - private function takeSnapshot(even:Event=null):void { var imageSnap:ImageSnapshot = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(viewstack1); Now i think this is taking the image of the viewstack which I want... But Im stumped on what to do from here! Is it not possible to now just copy the image to the clipboard, or produce a new window in my browser with the entire image inside? • Getting "" at the beginning of my XML File after save()

  I'm opening an existing XML file with c# and I replace some nodes in there. All works fine. Just after I save it, I get the following characters at the beginning of the file:  (EF BB BF in HEX) The whole first line: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> The rest of the file looks like a normal XML file. The simplified code is here: XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.Load(xmlSourceFile); XmlNode translation = doc.SelectSingleNode("//trans-unit[@id='127']"); translation.InnerText = "testing"; doc.Save(xmlTranslatedFile); I'm using a C# WinForm Application. With .NET 4.0. Any ideas? Why would it do that? Can we disable that somehow? It's for Adobe InCopy and it does not open it like this. • How to create a CGBitmapContext which works for Retina display and not wasting space for regular display?

  Is it true that if it is in UIKit, including drawRect, the HD aspect of Retina display is automatically handled? So does that mean in drawRect, the current graphics context for a 1024 x 768 view is actually a 2048 x 1536 pixel Bitmap context? (is there a way to print this size out to verify it). We actually enjoy the luxury of 1 point = 4 pixels automatically handled for us. However, if we use CGBitmapContextCreate, then those will really be pixels, not points? (at least if we provide a data buffer for that bitmap, the size is not for the higher resolution, but for the standard resolution, and even if we pass NULL as the buffer so that CGBitmapContextCreate handles the buffer for us, the size probably is the same as if we pass in a data buffer, and it is just standard resolution, not Retina's resolution). We can always create 2048 x 1536 for iPad 1 and iPad 2 as well as the New iPad, but it will waste memory and processor and GPU power, as it is only needed for the New iPad. So do we have to use a if () { } else { } to create such a bitmap context and how do we actually do so? And all our code CGContextMoveToPoint has to be adjusted for Retina display to use x * 2 and y * 2 vs non-retina display of just using x, y as well? That can be quite messy for the code. (or maybe we can define a local variable scaleFactor and set it to 1 for standard resolution and 2 if it is retina, so our x and y will always be x * scaleFactor, y * scaleFactor instead of just x and y.) It seems that UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions can create one for Retina automatically if the scale of 0.0 is passed in, but I don't think it can be used if I need to create the context and keep it (and using ivar or property of UIViewController to hold it). If I don't release it using UIGraphicsEndImageContext, then it stays in the graphics context stack, so it seems like I have to use CGBitmapContextCreate instead. (or do we just let it stay at the bottom of the stack and not worry about it?)

  I do have something more specific in mind, however: Each web service method needs to be wrapped with some boiler place code (cross cutting concern, yes, spring AOP would work great here but it either doesn't work or unapproved by gov't architecture group).   I have a data object that is deep-cloned using a binary serialization. This data object supports property changed events, for example, PriceChanged. Let's say I attached a handler to PriceChanged. When the code attempts to serialize PriceChanged, it throws an exception that the handler isn't marked as serializable. My alternatives: I can't easily remove all handlers from the event before serialization I don't want to mark the handler as serializable because I'd have to recursively mark all the handlers dependencies as well. I don't want to mark PriceChanged as NonSerialized - there are tens of events like this that could potentially have handlers. Ideally, I'd like .NET to just stop going down the object graph at that point and make that a 'leaf'. So why can't I just mark the handler class as 'NonSerialized'? -- I finally worked around this problem by making the handler implement ISerializable and doing nothing in the serialize constructor/ GetDataObject method. But, the handler still is serialized, just with all its dependencies set to null - so I had to account for that as well. Is there a better way to prevent serialization of an entire class?

  in my project there's a service that listens for changes in the connectivity. When wifi is switched off to on then it gets called. • Javascript doesnt update

  Hi all, I have a function that passes a parameter which is a function call and then i use setTimeout to call this passed function call. now i tried two methods with setTimout to raise the event and i used function.call(). • Visual Studio 2008 / ASP.NET 3.5 / C# -- issues with intellisense, references, and builds

  Hey all, Hoping you can help me -- the strangest thing seems to have happened with my VS install. System config: Windows 7 Pro x64, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, C#, ASP.NET 3.5. I have two web site projects in a solution. I am referencing NUnit / NHibernate (did this by right-clicking on the project and selecting "Add Reference". I've done this for several projects in the past). Things were working fine but recently stopped working and I can't figure out why. Intellisense completely disappears for any files in my App_Code directory, and none of the references are recognized (they are recognized by any file in the root directory of the web site project. Additionally, pretty simple commands like the following (in Page_Load) fail (assume TextBox1 is definitely an element on the page): if (Page.IsPostBack) { str test1; test1 = TextBox1.Text; } It says that all the page elements are null or that it can't access them. At first I thought it was me, but due to the combination of issues, it seems to be Visual Studio itself. I've tried clearing the temp directories & rebuilding the solution. I've also tried tools -- options -- text editor settings to ensure intellisense is turned on. I'd appreciate any help you can give! Thanks, Sean
