  • WCF - AsyncPattern=true or IsOneWay=true

    - by inutan
Hello there, Few methods in my WCF service are quite time taking - Generating Reports and Sending E-mails. According to current requirement, it is required so that Client application just submits the request and then do not wait for the whole process to complete. It will allow user to continue doing other operations in client applications instead of waiting for the whole process to finish. I am in a doubt over which way to go: AsyncPattern = true OR IsOneWay=true Please guide.

  • ASP.NET Tab Controls

    - by George Stocker
I'm currently attempting to create a tabbed interface in a web application, and based on my search, there aren't any 'built in' tab controls in ASP.NET. There are some in the ASP.NET AJAX downloadable toolkit, as well as a wealth of 'pay for use' third party Tab Controls. My question is: What Tab control have you used for ASP.NET applications, and why do you use it?

  • Flash in Python

    - by iamgopal
I was exploring possibilities of Rich Internet applications using Python. The most awesome possibility I found was of programming in IronPython and running it as a Silverlight. Is there something similar available for Adobe AIR? I.e. programing in Python and run in Adobe AIR (Flash, that is).

  • Java library for CSS cleanup

    - by ndn
For a rich text editor that has to handle pasted HTML code from MS Office applications, I'm looking for a Java library that cleans up the content of all "style" attributes in HTML elements, so that only some CSS attributes are left: background-color border color font-family font-weight font-style list-style-type text-align text-decoration vertical-align For creating a well-formed HTML document, I can use JTidy. For HTML element transformations (removing unwanted elements), I can use http://htmlparser.sourceforge.net/ Is there anything comparable for CSS attributes?

  • Android Color Picker

    - by GuyNoir
Does anyone know of a quick color picker widget that I could grab to use in my application? I've seen one in a few different applications that has a wheel with colors, and that you tap in the center to select, but I'm not sure where to find it. Google brings up nothing. Any color picker would be fine though. Thanks.

  • No Deploy option IIS

    - by mjmcloug
Hey, I've been looking at MSDeploy recently, specifically this presentation here. http://www.hanselman.com/blog/WebDeploymentMadeAwesomeIfYoureUsingXCopyYoureDoingItWrong.aspx Everything has been going fine till now except I'm trying to find the Deploy/Export Applications within IIS and they don't seem to be present. I'm presuming there needs to be some option turned on so I can see them but I'm damned if I know what. I have got the web deployment tool installed Thanks

    - by Jk
Hi, i have two applications (server and client), that uses TQuery connected with TClientDataSet through TDCOMConnection, and in some cases clientdataset opens about 300000 records and than application throws exception "Temporary table resource limit". Is there any workaround how to fix this? (except "do not open such huge dataset"?) update: oops i'm sorry there is 300K records, not 3 millions..

  • Log files for group policy application deployment

    - by Cyril
I'm looking into using group policy to deploy a couple of applications. I want to have the log of each installation written to a shared folder on a file server for tracking purposes. I can create the log if I pass the appropriate parameters. For example: msiexec /i Package.msi /l*vx c:\Package.log However using group policy for the deployment, you can't pass any parameters to the installation file. Is there anyway to specify the log file location in the process of creating the msi package?

  • Channel Audio from .mp4?

    - by Kyle
Hi there. I am at a loss here after searching around with no results. I am attempting to channel the audio specifically from an .mp4 for use in a driver. I am aware that there are programs which extract the audio from .mp4's, but I am looking for another approach without using external applications such as those.. is there any direction that someone can point me towards to solve this problem? Thanks, -K

  • Does RIA Services requires an extra install on the server?

    - by jkohlhepp
If I want to deploy an ASP.NET application that hosts RIA Services endpoints for a Silverlight application, do I have to install anything extra on the web server? Or is it just some extra DLLs that can be deployed to my applications Bin folder? I know that when you are doing RIA Services development there are additional toolkits and what-not to install, but I'm not sure if those are needed on the server.

  • Is deep Java knowledge needed for Android?

    - by MigNix
Hi, I am C++ developer interested in Android. As I understand the only possibility to develop applications for Android is Java. There is NDK also, but as I can see it is just something like JNI for Java. Is it mandatory to learn Java or to have deep knowledge in Java then try Android SDK, or it would be possible to learn Java while developing for Android. Thank you.

  • Securing a .NET Application [closed]

    - by beakersoft
Duplicate: Protecting .NET Code from Reverse Engineering We've recently released a small application and this weekend I found a cracked version of it on Piratebay that had the registration checking removed, so the app ran as if it was a registered version. Apart from using a code obfuscation tool (which doesn't seem to be that hard to get around), are there any standard things we should be doing to make our .NET applications more difficult to crack?

  • Does Shoes have a list view control?

    - by Jim
I was taking a look at Shoes which seems like a very nice tool for quick GUI applications. The common elements/controls, however, don't seem to include the equivalent of a list/report view (e.g., ListView in Windows, NSTableView in OS X). Did I just miss this, or does it not (yet) exist?

  • Create certificate for a client app in .NET

    - by galets
I'm looking for a server app to be routinely generating certificates for client applications using self-signed root. Is there any streamlined process in .NET to programmatically generate those certificates? I can, of course, keep spawning makecert or openssl, but I was looking for more programmatic, in-memory method, when you just get X509Certificate on output. If someone got a code snippet, can you please share?
