  • Finding Locked Out Users

    Active Directory up to 2008 network (our servers are a mix of 2008, 2003...) I'm looking for a quick way to query AD to find out what users are locked out, preferably from a batch or script file, to monitor for possible issues with either user accounts being attacked by an automated attack or just anomalies in the network. I've Googled and my Google-fu has failed; I found a query off Microsoft's own knowledgebase that cites a string to use on Server 2003 with the management snap-in's saved queries (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555131) but when I entered it, the query returned 400 users that a spot-check showed did NOT have a checkmark in the "Account is locked out" box under "account." In fact, I don't see anything wrong with their accounts. Is there a simple utility (wisesoft bulkadusers apparently uses this method behind the scenes, since it's results were also wrong) that will give a count of users and possibly their user object names? Script? Something?

  • Returning currently displayed index of an array Javascript...

    I have a simple array with x number of items. I am displaying them individually via a link click... I want to update a number that say 1 of 10. when the next one is displayed i want it to display 2 of 10 etc... I have looked all around and my brain is fried right now...   • Snow Leopard, PHP, and MySQL

    I have just installed Snow Leopard and now my PHP/MySQL program ends in a "Segmentation fault". I have been searching the web for a solution, I realize that there are some issues with SL/PHP/MySQL, but I have not found anything that works yet. I downloaded the binary MySQL package mysql-5.1.42-osx10.6-x86_64. I have updated the php.ini file as suggested at various posts. When I run PHP and connect to the MySQL server the behavior is a bit random. In many cases it works fine to connect and read data. In my specific case the PHP program constructs a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE ... statement to load data from a text file. It should do several such queries after each other in a loop. It works one time but the halts in a "Segmentation fault". The program worked fine in Leopard, but not now. My versions are: OS 10.6.2, PHP 5.3.0, MySQL 5.1.42

  • Question regarding IPv6 - Solicited-Node Address with a Link local scope

    Situation: A small LAN comprising a Windows 7 Ultimate x54 PC, 2 XP Pro x86 PCs and an Asus router.The Win 7 box has IPv6 enabled. There are no other IPv6 enabled devices on the LAN. In my firewall I see numerous requests originating from the Win 7 PC, which are for the Multicast address ff02::1:ff.... which is a Solicited-Node address query and has a scope of 2 which equates to the local link. As far as I knew local link addresses are filtered by routers, hence local link. Given that situation I'm wondering why I'm seeing these queries being generated to various addresses? Any ideas?     I own a small private security services business. Some of my clients require 2-10 security officers per location. I'm trying to think outside the box in order to solve my communications problem. I'd rather not buy or lease hf radios or voip systems at the current rates.   • Applying styles to a GridView matching certain criteria

    Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to ASP.Net so it's probably just me being a bit stupid, but I just can't figure out why this isn't working. Basically, I have a GridView control (GridView1) on a page which is reading from a database. I already have a CSS style applied to the GridView and all I want to do is change the background image applied in the style depending on if a certain cell has data in it or not. The way I'm trying to handle this change is updating the CSS class applied to each row through C#. I have the code below doing this: protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { GridViewRow row = e.Row; string s = row.Cells[7].Text; if (s.Length > 0) { row.CssClass = "newRowBackground"; } else { row.CssClass = "oldRowBackground"; } } In theory, the data from Cell[7] will either be null or be a string (in this case, likely a person's name). The problem is that when the page loads, every row in the GridView has the new style applied to it, whether it's empty or not. However, when I change it to use hard coded examples, it works fine. So for example, the below would work exactly how I want it to: protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { GridViewRow row = e.Row; string s = row.Cells[7].Text; if (s == "Smith") //Matching a name in one of the rows { row.CssClass = "newRowBackground"; } else { row.CssClass = "oldRowBackground"; } } It seems as if the top piece of code is always returning the string with a value greater than 0, but when I check the database the fields are all null (except for my test record of "Smith"). I'm probably doing something very simple that's wrong here, but I can't see what. Like I said, I'm still very new to this. One thing I have tried is changing the argument in the if statement to things like: if (s != null), if (s != "") and if (s == string.empty) all with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated and don't hesitate to tell me if I'm just being stupid here. :)

  • How can I display images on a MS Access 2007+ form with a hyperlink source?

    I am looking improve the efficiency of an Access 2010 database by using a web server with images and only storing the hyperlink source (i.e, http://www.images.com/images/image1.jpg) in the table. I know that one can save images as "attachements", using a "blob" object type, but when you're dealing with thousands of images, queries are bogged down, and performance suffers. So in short, is there are relatively simple way of displaying images on MS Access forms with a source that is a hyperlink address (storing files locally and using filepaths is not preferable).   • Why is this MySQL FULLTEXT query returning 0 rows when matching rows are present?

    I have a MySQL table with 200M rows which has a FULLTEXT index on two columns (Title,Body). When I do a simple FULLTEXT query in the default NATURAL LANGUAGE mode for some popular results (they'd return 2M+ rows), I'm getting zero rows back: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM itemsearch WHERE MATCH (Title, Body) AGAINST ('fubar'); But when I do a FULLTEXT query in BOOLEAN mode, I can see the rows in question do exist (I get 2M+ back, depending): SELECT COUNT(*) FROM itemsearch WHERE MATCH (Title, Body) AGAINST ('+fubar' IN BOOLEAN MODE); I have some queries which return ~500K rows which are working fine in either mode, so if it's result size related, it seems to crop up somewhere between 500K and a little north of 2M. I've tried playing with the various buffer size variables, to no avail. It's clearly not the 50% threshold, since we're not getting 100M rows back for any result. Any ideas?

  • Catch headset pause/play keypresses in Windows

    I have a new Ultrabook which has single audio jack for input and output instead for separate 3.5 mm jacks we used to have on older machines. The jack is probably similar to American Audio Jack specification or like the one found on Macbook Pro. I have tried to use it with the Apple, HTC, Nokia earphones which ship with most of the smartphones. Microphone on the headset works the way it should. Thing is that the headsets also come with remote controls to control volume and playback. I am sure that those key presses are sent to the Windows. I was hoping to catch those events and bind those to actual media keys so that I can control music playback. I guess this happens on Macs. I want to do the similar thing on the Windows. I'm just not sure where I can catch the events. Driver level? Application level?

  • PHP Requests Being Blocked After Making About 25 in Ten Minutes

    We have an administrative portal where we run PHP functions through a Javascript portal using ajax for administrative purposes. For example, we might have a function called updateAllDatabaseEntries() which would call AJAX functions in rapid succession, with those functions each executing numerous SQL queries. The problem is after making several successive requests from the same computer (not an excessive amount, maybe 30 in ten minutes) the system will stop responding to any PHP, HTTP requests ETC ONLY from my computer. From other computers in the office the panel can still be accessed, and access is restored to this computer after about 15 minutes. We believe this is not a glitch but some kind of security feature built into our server, possibly relating to Suhosin and likely well-intentioned but currently preventing us from running our system administration.   • MySQL cluster: 20Tb x 3K tables

    Over the next 2-3 years we will be scaling up data collection for a project. As a result the amount of data will grow 10-fold. Our current MySQL installation can keep up with the 2Tb of data but for larger queries there is a fair amount of IOWait. Im investigating a migration to a clustered solution to spread out the IO but am wondering about NDB and what happens to data that doesn't get accessed very often. The impression I get from reading about MySQL cluster is that it relies on memory tables for most of the data. What happens with tables that don't get accessed very often (or at all)? And how does backup work? Can I use MYSQLDUMP or is there a better solution?

  • Write permissions denied on linked tables between MS Access 2003 and 2007

    We are in the process of switching over to Access 2007. We have numerous data tables in Access 2003 files. In one case, the user has 2007 on his PC and opened the front end in 2007. No problems. When the the user is done, he clicks a button that executes a macro full of update queries. The macro reaches the first query and halts. We get a message saying we do not have permissions to write to this linked table (2003 format). There were no security files involved. We re-linked from 2007, same problem. LAN permssions were ok. I wound up having to import the tables to front end in order for the user to be able to do his job.

(minimal use) Windows partition: 92GB with Windows 7 professional and Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel & Powerpoint, and Skype (daily use) Media to be kept on SD card or external USB3 drive. (Note: Using Parrallels may save space, but my wife won't go for the user experience)

  • Automatically reboot Windows8 if no internet activity

    I have a media server located in a very inconvenient part of my house. Occasionally I will have to reset my router or it will reset itself. The issue is the PC loses connectivity for some reason, and I am forced to walk outside, around the house, into the basement, over a bunch of toys and weights and boxes, to push a button to reboot it. I would love to have it check itself every 5-10 minutes and auto reboot if it is unable to ping a given address/IP. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

  • Remove DRM From a WMV file I own

    Alright, first, let me explain. I purchased some content through Microsoft's Zune/Xbox Video service, and man that was a mistake. After trying several times to get the video to play, I received an error along the lines of "out of licenses." Lucky for me, I was able to recover the file I was looking for off of a backup, but now I'm having problems playing it. It works fine in Windows Media Player, but not in Zune or Xbox Video (on Windows 8). I contacted Zune's customer support, and of course they couldn't help me. So, I legally own the content, I just want to be able to play it where I want to play it. It's ridiculous that I can't. I know there are ways to do this out there, I just can't figure it out (I keep getting directed to this piece of junk thing called Almedia, which kind of seems to work, but was only putting out audio in the demo version).   • Muti-Schema Privileges for a Table Trigger in an Oracle Database

    I'm trying to write a table trigger which queries another table that is outside the schema where the trigger will reside. Is this possible? It seems like I have no problem querying tables in my schema but I get: Error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist when trying trying to query tables outside my schema. EDIT My apologies for not providing as much information as possible the first time around. I was under the impression this question was more simple. I'm trying create a trigger on a table that changes some fields on a newly inserted row based on the existence of some data that may or may not be in a table that is in another schema. The user account that I'm using to create the trigger does have the permissions to run the queries independently. In fact, I've had my trigger print the query I'm trying to run and was able to run it on it's own successfully. I should also note that I'm building the query dynamically by using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement. With this privilege, the trigger can be created in any schema and can be associated with any user's table. In addition, the user creating the trigger must also have EXECUTE privilege on the referenced procedures, functions, or packages. Here: Oracle Doc So it looks to me like this should work, but I'm not sure about the "EXECUTE privilege" it's referring to in the doc.

    I want to use httpsession in Spring 3 MVC..i have searched all the web and got this solution..at http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?98850-Adding-to-stuff-to-the-session-while-using-ResponseBody Basically, My application auto authenticates user by getting winId and authorizes through LDAP..(Its a intranet site) Here is the flow of the application, 1. User enters Aplication url (http://localhost:8082/eIA_Mock_5) it has a welcome page (index.jsp) Index.jsp gets winId through jQuery and hits login.html (through Ajax) and passes windowsId login.html (Controller) authenticates through LDAP and gives back 'Valid' String as a response javascript, upon getting the correct response, redirects/loads welcome page i.e. goes to localhost:8082/eIA_Mock_5/welcome.html Now, i have filter associated with it..which checks for is session valid for each incoming request..Now the problem is even though i set data on to httpsession, yet the filter or any other controller fails to get the data through session as a result it doesnt proceeds further.. here is the code..and could you suggest what is wrong actually ??
