  Hello, I recently made a start on learning BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) after watching a Google tech talk presented by David Astels. He made a very interesting case for using BDD and some of the literature I've read seem to highlight that it's easier to sell BDD to management. Admittedly, I'm a little skeptical about BDD after watching the above video. So, I'm interested to understand if BDD is indeed nothing more than a change in vocabulary or if it offers other benefits.

  I'm looking for a script, functioning like the Google homepage that fetches data from a database rather than the internet. This is not intended to be a search engine, but a repository of jokes that can be pulled depending on the keywords typed. No sophisticated search techniques are required - keyword based is perfectly fine. If some mechanism of up/down-voting jokes can be incorporated, that would be fantastic, but I'm presuming that will be an entirely different game.

• Error from sudo update-grub

  I've installed Ubuntu 13.10 on a Lenovo yoga 13. In order to make the backlight work with the keys I've been following some instructions here: How do I get the brightness control working on a Lenovo Yoga 13? The process asks me to run update-grub, but this causes the following error: /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 27: /etc/default/grub: want: not found Which doesn't seem to come up hardly anywhere on Google - which is me pretty much stumped when it comes to grub!

• apache tomcat with CDN

  I've apache2,tomcat6 ubuntu servers running on port 80 with mod_jk setup hosting jsp pages. The developers are complaining that the pages are being rendered very slow when tried with IE browser and saying, at every refresh the images are reloading again and again which is not happening with other browsers. I'm given a hint CDNwhich I've no knowledge but I found in the google that cdn makes pages available on many server which improves the speed of the page being rendered. Anybody could tell me how could I make my pages available in cdn servers?

• Realtek RTL8168/8111E onboard NIC not recognized - the everlasting problem?

  I used the newest vendor driver for my onboard NIC (board: ASUS M5A97 Pro) and those sites to get it running on kernel 3.0: http://www.twm-kd.com/linux/realtek-rtl81688111e-and-ubuntu-linux/ The problem now is, that this doesn't work with either kernel 3.1 or 3.2: https://code.google.com/p/r8168/issues/detail?id=6 My question is: does anyone have a solution to get it run on the newest kernel? Or is this a plaque I have to carry forever?

  I need a booking system for a theoretical project website. It would be an in-house job (not outsourcing to a web service) but all google searches on the subject yield results for said web services. I'd want to be able to use the system as such: For each day, there is availability recorded and if available a user can book in using the website, which sets that date to unavailable.   Not to sure why I did this. But I submitted the same sitemap for our .co.uk and .com domain. Looking to put the .com domain on different hosting and create a new site for international customers using .com domain. Should I remove all urls in google webmasters for the .com domain, guessing this won't have a negative effect on .co.uk stuff and add robot.txt to make sure the .com domain is not crawled? Thanks
