  • Mixing two wav music files of different size

    - by iphoneDev
Hi, I want to mix audio files of different size into a one single .wav file. There is a sample through which we can mix files of same size [(http://www.modejong.com/iOS/#ex4 )(Example 4)]. I modified the code to get the mixed file as a .wav file. But I am not able to understand that how to modify this code for unequal sized files. If someone can help me out with some code snippet,i'll be really thankful.

  • Can I safely store UInt32 to NSUInteger?

    - by mystify
In the header, it is defined like: #if __LP64__ || (TARGET_OS_EMBEDDED && !TARGET_OS_IPHONE) || TARGET_OS_WIN32 || NS_BUILD_32_LIKE_64 typedef long NSInteger; typedef unsigned long NSUInteger; #else typedef int NSInteger; typedef unsigned int NSUInteger; #endif So does an UInt32 fit without problems into an NSUInteger (an unsigned int)? Where's the difference between UInt32 and unsigned int? And I assume that an unsigned long is bigger than an unsigned int?

  • Get notification when NSOperationQueue finishes all tasks

    - by porneL
NSOperationQueue has waitUntilAllOperationsAreFinished, but I don't want to wait synchronously for it. I just want to hide progress indicator in UI when queue finishes. What's the best way to accomplish this? I can't send notifications from my NSOperations, because I don't know which one is going to be last, and [queue operations] might not be empty yet (or worse - repopulated) when notification is received.

  • IUNavigationController loading more viewControllers

    - by Goods
Not a Noob as yesterday, but still green. I have a UITabbarcontoller and a IUNavigationController they seem to work fine. I have a UITableviewController to which I loads my NSMutable array. The user clicks a cell and didSelectRowAtIndexPath xib is loaded onto the stack. I have a 'Learn More' button on the current xib. I've tried a few approaches to load a newer xib when the 'Learn More' button is pressed but have failed. Im thinking it has to do with the Navigation Controller? Do I need to import the navigationcontroller to every ViewControllerSubclass I make? Thanks.

  • How to mask an view with an black-white image?

    - by mystify
I've heard that it's possible to mask views with black/white images, where black means fully transparent and white means view is visible. The big difference to clipsToBounds is that the view could be clipped in funny shapes like circles or stars. How could I do that?

  • How to detect tap on uiview with lots of controls?

    - by kodcu
My problem is about tap detection. I have a uiviewcontroller and there are some controls on uiview (labels, buttons, tableview, imageview, etc..) When I tap the uibutton I display a small uiview (200x150), if the user taps the uibuttons in smallview I hide the smallview. But I can't hide the uiview if the user taps the background. I tried this code.. -(void) touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event{ //NSLog(@"Touches began."); [self hideShareView]; } It doesn't work if I tap the another button in the uiviewcontrols view. I just want my uiviewcontrol's uiview to react first. I think its about firstResponder but I dont know how to set it first. edit: i want it to work like a uiPopover in ipad.

  • Multi-Part HTTP Request through xcode

    - by devsri
Hello Everyone, i want to upload image, video and audio files to a server. I have read this thread on the similar topic but wasn't able to understand completely the flow of the code. It would be great if you can suggest me some sample code or tutorial to start with. I am using the following code to connect without any media to the server [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES; NSString *url =[[NSString alloc]initWithFormat:@"%@",[NetworkConstants getURL]]; NSURL *theURL =[NSURL URLWithString:url]; [url release]; NSMutableURLRequest *theRequest =[NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:theURL cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringCacheData timeoutInterval:0.0f]; [theRequest setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; NSString *theBodyString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"json1=%@&userID=%@",jsonObject,[GlobalConstants getUID]]; NSData *theBodyData = [theBodyString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [theRequest setHTTPBody:theBodyData]; NSURLConnection *conn = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; if (conn) { NSLog(@"Successful in sending sync"); } else { NSLog(@"Failed Connection in sending sync"); } [conn release]; It would be really convenient for me if anything could be done editing this part of code. Any form of help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

  • Animating the drawing of a line

    - by jkigel
    I'm trying to animate the drawing of a line by the following way: .h CAShapeLayer *rootLayer; CAShapeLayer *lineLayer; CGMutablePathRef path; .m path = CGPathCreateMutable(); CGPathMoveToPoint(path, nil, self.frame.size.width/2-100, 260); CGPathAddLineToPoint(path, nil, self.frame.size.width/2+100.0, 260); CGPathCloseSubpath(path); self.rootLayer = [CALayer layer]; rootLayer.frame = self.bounds; [self.layer addSublayer:rootLayer]; self.lineLayer = [CAShapeLayer layer]; [lineLayer setPath:path]; [lineLayer setFillColor:[UIColor redColor].CGColor]; [lineLayer setStrokeColor:[UIColor blueColor].CGColor]; [lineLayer setLineWidth:1.5]; [lineLayer setFillRule:kCAFillRuleNonZero]; [rootLayer addSublayer:lineLayer]; [self performSelector:@selector(startTotalLine) withObject:nil afterDelay:1.5]; - (void)startTotalLine { CABasicAnimation *animation = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"animatePath"]; [animation setDuration:3.5]; animation.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionEaseInEaseOut]; [animation setAutoreverses:NO]; [animation setFromValue:(id)path]; [animation setToValue:(id)path]; [lineLayer addAnimation:animation forKey:@"animatePath"]; } The line had drawn before the startTotalLine method is invoked. Also, the startTotalLine method doesn't affect the line. I want it to animate the the line drawing from right to left

  • UIScrollView does not scroll

    - by Preston Cheung
I got a problem about UIScrollView. I am making a custom view which inherits UIView. The view has a UIScrollView on which there are lots of buttons which should scroll left and right. The UIScrollView and buttons can show normally. But I cannot scroll the buttons. Could someone give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot! • What to learn for a pure practical developer to get better?

    - by ChrisRamakers
I'm a self taught developer that currently has more than enough experience to hold up against my colleagues waving with their degrees, yet I feel that I'm lacking some important skills to advance further into being a senior level professional in a leading role. More specific in the engineering, planning and designing aspect of software. I've touched the surface of UML, ERM/ERD, have experienced both waterfall and scrum projectmanagement, ... yet I feel there is something missing as every time I start on a new project I don't know where to begin. Should I start diagramming and how? should I start writing an xx page document describing the project on a technical level first, should I dive head first into writing the first tests and code or pseudo-code? I would like to know what, in my case, would be the best way forward, to learn how I can tackle this problem in the future and get better at leading and starting a project. There is not much i don't know about my technical tools and languages but when it gets abstract i'm in trouble.

  • iOS - Rotating view reveals background.

    - by Jack
Hi, I have created a view that I want to be able to rotate. The two views are: containerView and this has a .backgroundColor of red and BackgroundImage as a subview. Here is my code for rotating: - (void) willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration { [self adjustViewsForOrientation:toInterfaceOrientation]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return YES; } - (void) adjustViewsForOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)orientation { if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) { backgroundImage.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"landscape.jpg"]; backgroundImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 704); containerView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 704); self.title = @"landscape"; } else if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown) { backgroundImage.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"portrait.jpg"]; backgroundImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 960); containerView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 960); self.title = @"portrait"; } } The problem is that the image rotates, but the background color is shown whilst the view rotates. Is there a nice solution to this problem (I know that I could create the images to blend into a color and set the background to the same color, but this is not what I would like). A Video of the problem can be seen here:http://tinypic.com/r/2quj24g/6 PS the images are from the OmniGroup GitHub repo and are just used for the demo.

  • changing a picker to table view OR having multiple table views on the same view

    - by Brodie4598
Hello - My iPad app was rejected due to my use of a picker. The picker was used to control a table view. In my view, a picker was displaying a series of items and when one of those items was selected, it used that selection to populate a table with data. (hopefully that makes sense). Now I need to do this without the picker so I need to have the data that was in the picker be represented in a table view. My question, is how do I have multiple tableViews in the same view? I'm guessing I need to have some kind of if statement in the tableview delegate methods, but I'm not quite sure what the if statement needs to be. Or maybe i'm thinking of this the totally wrong way thanks

  • Getting invalid context errors

    - by Andrew
    I don't have much code thus far, only this to start: UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions(bounds.size, NO, 0); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGMutablePathRef outerPath; CGMutablePathRef highlightPath; CGRect outerRect = rectForRectWithInset(bounds, 1); CGRect highlightRect = CGRectMake(outerRect.origin.x, outerRect.origin.y + 1, outerRect.size.width, outerRect.size.height); And then the problematic bit, which when commented out, the error goes away: CGContextSaveGState(context); CGContextAddPath(context, highlightPath); CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(context, [[UIColor colorWithWhite:1.0 alpha:0.05]CGColor]); CGContextFillPath(context); CGContextRestoreGState(context); Below that is simply: UIImage *image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext();

  • Custom CallOut not displayed correctly in ios6?

    - by balu
As i want to implement the custom call out in the mkmapview i am using these classes CalloutMapAnnotationView.h and CalloutMapAnnotationView.m I have extracted these classes from the following links https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.h https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.m These work fine in ios5 but in ios6 when i am clicking on the call out the map view is moving and call out is not showing correctly as shown in the below figures while i was zooming also its not coming correctly i have tried several ways to get rid out of this problem by checking the version of os and tried to change the some of the methods in the classes but of not use. After implementing these in ios5 map view coming like this In Ios6 This one not coming properly as like in ios5. for example

  • Refresh displayed Camera Roll contents

    - by zoul
Hello! I use the UIImagePickerController class to display the Camera Roll contents. I have a second thread that saves an image to the Camera Roll. When the images has finished saving, it does not appear in the Camera Roll that’s open. Is there a way to force the Camera Roll to refresh? (Other than dismissing and displaying it again.)

  • delegate method throws runtime "unrecognized selector" error when switching back from one UIViewCont

    - by chimgrrl
Ok, I've spend like half day on this and it's killing me. So I've got 3 view controllers transitioning from one another, something like this: I call the UploadDecisionViewController after destroying the previous View Controller: [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; [self performSelector:@selector(showUDModalView) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.5]; In my showUDModalView method: - (void)showUDModalView { UploadDecisionViewController *udcontroller = [[UploadDecisionViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"UploadDecisionViewController" bundle:nil]; udcontroller.delegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:udcontroller animated:YES]; [udcontroller release]; } The UploadDecisionViewController shows up no problem. The UploadDecisionViewController has a button, which when clicked I want it to transition to the FileUploadViewController. I setup a UploadDecisionDelegate, threw a method in there to handle the button clicking: Inside UploadDecisionDelegate protocol (UploadDecisionViewController.h): @protocol UploadDecisionDelegate //let UOnliveViewController know that a button was selected - (void)UploadDecisionViewController:(UploadDecisionViewController *)controller madeChoice:(NSString *)whichDirection; @end Then inside my IBAction method when the button is clicked, I have this: - (IBAction)decisionSelected:(id)sender { [delegate UploadDecisionViewController:self madeChoice:@"upload"];//crashing at this line } When I run this, at this line above it is throwing a runtime exception: 2010-06-09 12:48:59.561 UOnlive[4735:207] *** -[UIView UploadDecisionViewController:madeChoice:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3b65420 2010-06-09 12:48:59.562 UOnlive[4735:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIView UploadDecisionViewController:madeChoice:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3b65420' 2010-06-09 12:48:59.563 UOnlive[4735:207] Stack: ( 33502299, 2495698185, 33884219, 33453686, 33306306, 20618, 2982917, 3390286, 3399023, 3394235, 3087839, 2996168, 3022945, 40156505, 33287040, 33283144, 40150549, 40150746, 3026863, 11700, 11554 ) Let me throw in the delegate method implemented also: - (void)UploadDecisionViewController:(UploadDecisionViewController *)controller madeChoice:(NSString *)whichDirection { NSLog(@"it got to here 245"); [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; if (yesOrNo) { //open up the FileUploadViewController and proceed to upload [self performSelector:@selector(showFUModalView) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.5]; } } Can someone tell me what the heck is going on? Thanks a bunch for the help...
