• Creating a dynamic linq query

  I have the following query: from p in dataContext.Repository<IPerson>() join spp1 in dataContext.Repository<ISportsPerPerson>() on p.Id equals spp1.PersonId join s1 in dataContext.Repository<ISports>() on spp1.SportsId equals s1.Id join spp2 in dataContext.Repository<ISportsPerPerson>() on p.Id equals spp2.PersonId join s2 in dataContext.Repository<ISports>() on spp2.SportsId equals s2.Id where s1.Name == "Soccer" && s2.Name == "Tennis" select new { p.Id }; It selects all the person who play Soccer and Tennis. On runtime the user can select other tags to add to the query, for instance: "Hockey". now my question is, how could I dynamically add "Hockey" to the query? • Android & SQLite: "Table audios has no column named downloaded"

  I get this weird exception when i run my app on both the emulator and a USB connected device. i can see the table inside the shell, but when I try to insert a record from the Activity acton I get this exception: android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: table audios has no column named downloaded I am mostly running on an emulator with Android 1.5. The predominant part of my code is linked to this tutorial - http://www.devx.com/wireless/Article/40842/1954. • Help with debugging COM errors? (.mdi to .pdf file conversions using Microsoft Office Document Imagi

  I thought I had a working solution for converting .mdi files to PDF using the Microsoft Office Document Imaging object model. The solution is in a Windows Service, but now I'm running into some errors that I'm having trouble tracking down info on. The exception I get is: The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT)) System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT)) at MODI.DocumentClass.Create(String FileOpen) at DocumentStore.Mdi2PDF(String path, String newPath) Then, in the Event Viewer there is the following Application error: Faulting application MyWindowsServiceName.exe, version 1.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4b97f185, faulting module mso.dll, version 12.0.6425.1000, time stamp 0x49d65443, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000bd8e, process id 0xa5c, application start time 0x01cac08cf032914b. Here's the method that is doing the conversion: private int? I also built a a console apps converting hundreds of documents and DID NOT get the exception. So, it seems to be caused by creating too many instances of the MODI object, but only instantiated within a Service? Doesn't quite make sense. Anybody have any clues about these errors and how to debug them further?

  How are you handling the entry of numeric values in WPF applications? Without a NumericUpDown control, I've been using a TextBox and handling its PreviewKeyDown event with the code below, but it's pretty ugly. • Visual Studio Macros on 64 bit fail with COM error

  I'm doing some javascript development and found a cool macro to region my code ("Using #region Directive With JavaScript Files in Visual Studio"). I used this on my 32 bit box, and it worked first time. Stepping through it with the Visual Studio Macros IDE, it fails the first time on the DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.StopOutlining") line with a COM error (Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component). If I attempt to run it a second time, I can run it from the Macro Editor with no issue, but not from within Visual Studio with the macro explorer 'run macro' command. If I have a list of Customers and the data for each Customer is contained in a Dictionary how can I bind the list to the DataGrid so that each string key is a column? Edit: N.B. • Qt, no such slot error

  I'm having a strange problem with slots in Qt4.6 I have a tree control that I am trying to fire an event back to the mainwindow to edit something. I have boiled it down to this minimal example: class MainWindow : public QMainWindow { Q_OBJECT public: MainWindow(int argc, char **argv ); private Q_SLOTS: void about() {QMessageBox::about(this, "about","about"); } // Just the defaul about box void doEditFace() {QMessageBox::about(this, "test","doEditFace"); } // pretty identical .... } class TreeModel : public QAbstractItemModel { Q_OBJECT Q_SIGNALS: void editFace(); ... } In my Mainwindow() I have connect(treeModel, SIGNAL(editFace()), this, SLOT(about())); // returns true connect(treeModel, SIGNAL(editFace()), this, SLOT(doEditFace())); // returns false When I run it the second line gives a warning. Object::connect: No such slot MainWindow::doEditFace() in \src\mainwindow.cpp:588 As far as I can see the doEditFace() is in the moc_ qmeta class perfectly correctly. And the edit event fires and pops up the about box. The order doesn't matterm if I connect the about box second it still works but my slot doesnt! vS2008 windowsXP qt4.6.2

I've put in some debug print statement and I confirm that at the time of computation, both: c = a - b; and a -= b; are computed to the same value. • Authenticating to Google Search Appliance using Basic HTTP auth and ASP.NET (VB)

  I've run into a snag though which has to do with authentication between the Google Search Appliance and ASP. Normally, when asking for secure pages from the search appliance, the search appliance asks for credentials, then uses these credentials to try and access the secure results. If this attempt is successful, the page shows up in the results list. Since ASP is contacting the search appliance on the client's behalf, it will need to collect credentials and pass them along to the search appliance. I have tried a couple of different documented ways of accomplishing this, but they don't seem to work.   I have a cloud server with the following specifications: 2vCPUs 4G RAM 160GB Disk Space Network 400Mb/s System Image: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I am only running Magento CE 1.7.0.2 on this server. Nothing else. Usually, the server has a loading time of 4-5 seconds. Recently, this has dropped to over 30 seconds and sometimes the server just goes away and I get HTTP error reports to my email stating that HTTP requests took more than 20000ms.   The GLSurfaceView.Renderer interface of the Android SDK gives me a GL interface as parameter which has the type GL10. This interface is implemented by some private internal jni wrapper class. But there is also the class GLES10 where all the GL methods are available as static methods. Is there an important difference between them? So what if I ignore the gl parameter of onDrawFrame and instead use the static methods of GLES10 everywhere? Here is an example. Instead of doing this: void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { drawSomething(gl); } void drawSomething(GL10 gl) { gl.glLoadIdentity(); ... } I could do this: void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { drawSomething(); } void drawSomething() { GLES10.glLoadIdentity(); ... } The advantage is that I don't have to pass the GL context to all called methods. But even it it works (And it works, I tried it) I wonder if there are any disadvantages and reasons to NOT do it like that.

Now it says it can't find another class. I include that one and try it again. Then it says it can't find another class, and another class, and so on. I have all of these dependencies on all these other Zend_Form classes. What should I do? How should I go about testing my Form to make sure my Validators and Filters are being attached correctly, and that it's doing what I expect it to do. Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

  I am attempting to allow user to upload videos to Flickr from an Asp.net application using the FlickrNet library/API. I've obtained an API key and an API secret from Flickr. Additionally I am retrieving an authToken using the AuthGetFrob method from the FlickrNet library. My Using Statements are as Follows using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using FlickrNet; I have created two methods to accomplish this task.   I am using NHibernate 2.0.1 and .NET I am facing issues with Lazy loading an association I have a BusinessObject class that has associations to other BusinessObject in it, and it can go deeper. Assume the fieldName is BusinessDriver.Description and the BusinessObject which has this field is StrategyBusinessDriver This code breaks down the field name into two - BusinessDriver & Description. The first iteration reads the BusinessDriver object from StrategyBusinessDriver. It is cast into a BusinessObject type so that I can call the GetFieldValue again on it to read the next field i.e Description in the BusinessDriver. The problem is that when I read the BusinessDriver in the first iteration and cast it, I get the Ids and all other details of the BusinessObject but the field dictionary _data and other collections are not fetched. This should be fetched lazily when I read the _data of the BusinessObject. However, this does not happen and I get an error that _data is null. Is there something wrongly coded because of which the collection is not fetched lazily? Please ask for more clarifications if needed. Thanks in advance. UPDATE: It works when I don't do Lazy load.

• FindByIdentity in System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagment Memory Issues

  I'm working on an active directory managament application. In addition to the typical Create A New User, Enable/Disable an account, reset my password etc. it also managages application permissions for all of the clients web applications. Application management is handled by thousands of AD groups such as which are built from 3 letter codes for the application, section and site, there are also hundreds of AD groups which determine which applications and locations a coordinator can grant rights to. All of these groups in turn belong to other groups so I typically filter the groups list with the MemberOf property to find the groups that a user directly belongs to (or everyone has rights to do everything). I've made extensive use of the System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagment namespace using the FindByIdentity method in 31 places throughout the application. This method calls a private method FindPrincipalByIdentRefHelper on the internal ADStoreCtx class. A SearchResultCollection is created but not disposed so eventually typically once or twice a day the web server runs out of memory and all of the applications on the web server stop responsing until iis is reset because the resources used by the com objects aren't ever relased. There are places where I fall back to the underlying directory objects, but there are lot of places where I'm using the properties on the Principal - it's a vast improvement over using the esoteric ad property names in the .Net 2.0 Directory services code. I've contacted microsoft about the problem and it's been fixed in .Net 4.0 but they don't currently have plans to fix it in 3.5 unless there is intrest in the community about it. I only found information about it in a couple of places the MDSN documentation in the community content state's there is a memory leak at the bottom (guess I should have read that before using the the method) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb345628.aspx And the class in question is internal and doesn't expose SearchResultsCollection outside the offending method so I can't get at the results to dispose them or inherit from the class and override the method. So my questions are Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so were you able to work around it? Do I have any option besides rewriting the application not using any of the .Net 3.5 active directory code? Thanks

  I am writing an app for BlackBerry that utilizes a BlackBerry smartcard reader. There is not much documentation on the subject, so I'd really like if someone could give me starting examples. Basically, there is one RSA private key on the card plus a certificate (for paired public key). I would like to be able to encrypt/decrypt data and also sign it as well. The final goal would be to establish an mutual-authenticated SSL connection using client certificate contained on the smartcard. For example, with this SDK we can catch a click on a button and do something on the click. This programming can be done either VB or C#. This can also be used to create new fields on the pre-existing form. We have developed a specific application which allows users to store the definition required for new field in a database table and the fields are created at the run time. So far, this is good. What we require now is that the user should be able to store the validation code for the field in the database and the same should be executed on the run time. • Regex pattern failing

  I am trying a substring to find from the beginning of the string to the point that has the escape sequence "\r\n\r\n" my regex is Regex completeCall = new Regex(@"^.+?\r\n\r\n", RegexOptions.Compiled); it works great as long as you only have strings like 123\r\n\r\n however once you have the pattern 123\r\n 456\r\n\r\n the pattern no longer matches. Any advice on what I am doing wrong?
