• WebTest Visual Studio Test problems with amf call

  If I browse to a flex application when recording with VS Test, I can see the calls to WebORB (amf calls). However, when stopping the recording this is what happens: First, Visual Studio detects dynamic parameters, but stays around 20%, and never gets through it. Second, if I cancel the detecting dynamic parameters, and run the web test, the calls to WebORB (amf calls) do not work. In fact, in VS2010, the call to WebORB stays on Submitting... Now, this web test, does it only record url's and query string variables, or does it record the whole request? If it records the whole request, the call to WebORB should work, but it doesn't.

• How to consume RESTful web service in my JSF project?

  Hello, As RESTful web services is url based and is not a object, we can't call methods on it. I have a simple web service with only one method in it with is @GET. I saw one screencast and it used some javascript library to consume the web service. But, how do i use it with my JSF project? I can't even inject it like a normal web service. Please help. I am new to REST. Can i not consume it in my managed bean? If the only way to consume the webservice is through javascript, can anybody here give me details of how to consume it through JQuery? Thanks in advance :)

• Multiple comosite applications on same WSDL endpoint with OPEN-ESB

  Just learning how Open-ESB (GlassFishESB) works and evaluating it for a project. One point I do not understand is that if I have a Composite application bound to an incoming web service (hosted on the glassfish server) can I get muple composite applications to consume this message ? If so is it done by A) simply deploying the multiple composite applications each referencing the save URL and same WSDL B) include each JBI module in the CASA editor and deploy a single composite application with all parts included (will this reduce scaling?) C) create a new composite application which has a BPEL process to send the in message to new endpoints for each compisite applciation . My feeling is that option A should work?

• nyroModal Window on flash background

  I've got a Flex App running at 100% width and 100% height. The embed code is: <script type="text/javascript"> var fVars = {}; fVars.wmode = "transparent"; //also tried "opaque" swfobject.embedSWF("/swf/app.swf", "app", "100%", "100%", "9.0.0", "expressInstall.swf", fVars); </script> <div class="app"></div> I've also got the nyroModal call, which is essentially $.nyroModalManual({ url: urlPath, wrap: {}, closeButton: "" }); The modal window I am trying to open in this case is a div with some text and another flash embed, which works. I've also got the app div's z-index to 0. In Firefox this looks fine, everything works. In Chrome however, nyroModal's fade-in/transparent overlay does not show up, and only the second swf is visible overtop the background flash. Am I missing anything here? Is this a known issue with Chrome?

• Slug ID's with the same name?

  I want to create slug URL's from a users title in my system. If a user types "The best way's to get slim; period!", then I want the slug to be "the-best-ways-to-get-slim-period". Also, if someone has already created a page with that title I want the slug to be "the-best-ways-to-get-slim-period-1". My question is how can I check the database before a record is created? Ok, obviously I am going to have to perform a check in the database, and then a write. That's 2 queries. Is this the normal way to do it? Also, are there any conventional regular expressions for filtering non alpha/number characters and replacing spaces with hyphens? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

• ASP.Net MVC2 Client and Server Validation sharing the same code - is it possible?

  With the excellent XVal by Steve Sanderson, it is possible to tell the client side validation to post the value being validated to the server using jquery. A method on the server then uses the same server side code you use for your server side validation, and returns simply a true or false to determine if the field is valid. The advantage of this method is that you write your complex validation logic once in C# code and then put some JQuery plumbing in to tell your client page where to go to access your server validation. I have been reading some blogs on MVC2 but no one seems to mention this functionality. Is it possible to tell the Microsoft MVC validation javascript to call a url validate data? Or do you have to write your own client side validation routines. I should note that using the xVal method a custom validation to say if an email address is in use or not can be run from the client via a JQuery post which accesses the server side validation logic.

  Using the jQuery Star Rating plugin everything works well until I select a star rating from the rating's callback handler. Simple example: $('.rating').rating({ ... callback: function(value){ $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: ... data: {rating: value}, success: function(data){ $('.rating').rating('select', 1); } }); } }); I'm guessing this infinite loop occurs because the callback is fired after a manual 'select' as well. Once a user submits their rating I'd like to 'select' the average rating across all users (this value is in data returned to the success handler). How can I do this without triggering an infinite loop?

  I am new to python and just downloaded it today. I am using it to work on a web spider, so to test it out and make sure everything was working, I downloaded a sample code. Unfortunately, it does not work and gives me the error: "AttributeError: 'MyShell' object has no attribute 'loaded' " I am not sure if the code its self has an error or I failed to do something correctly when installing python. Is there anything you have to do when installing python like adding environmental variables, etc.? And what does that error generally mean?   This is JavaScript regex. regex = /(http:\/\/[^\s]*)/g; text = "I have http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd and I like http://google.com a lot"; matches = text.match(regex); console.log(matches); I get both the urls in the result. However I want to eliminate all the urls ending with .dtd . How do I do that? Note that I am saying ending with .dtd should be removed. It means a url like http://a.dtd.google.com should pass .

  Hi People, The problem if someone types into the search box a location it goes through to that location page but if they type in a location thats not found or they dont type anything in I need it to redirect back to the homepage (index.asp) and display "whoops we couldnt find that" in the search box (input field) This is the vb Case Else response.redirect "index.asp?whoops=whoops we couldnt find that" End Select Then in the value of the input field I have value="<% =whoops %>" This doesnt work by the way, first is this the best way of doing it because id rather not have the error message in the url.   I am sending UTF-8, japanese text, to my server. It works in Firefox. My access.log and headers are: /ajax/?q=%E6%BC%A2%E5%AD%97 Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Content-Type application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 Howeer, in IE8, my access.log says: /ajax/?q=?? For some reason, IE8 is turning my AJAX call into question marks. Why!? I added the scriptCharset and ContentType according to some tutorials, but still no luck. • POX return data from WCF Data Services

  I am using WCF Data Services (netfx4) to provide data sourced from SQL via EF, the standard OData mechanism is fine and JSON works as well but I need a third option for generic POX (plain old xml). I have yet to come across a simple strategy or switch that allows me to control this but I am sure one must exist or a workaround method might be available. Any ideas? Ideally I would like to be able to use something like the JSONP option wherein I append 'format=JSON' to the URL, in this case 'format=pox' or 'POX=true' or something of that nature.

• jQuery ajax() function is ignoring dataType parameter in Firefox

  I'm trying to use jQuery.ajax() to fetch some html, but Firefox is giving me a "junk after document element" error message. As explained here and here the problem seems to be that Firefox is expecting XML from the server, and when it doesn't parse correctly it throws the error. Here's my ajax code: jQuery.ajax({ url: name, dataType: "html", success: function(result) { console.log(result); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { console.log(errorThrown); } }); The server returns the html with these response headers: Accept-Ranges bytes Content-Length 2957 Last-Modified Tue, 02 Jul 2013 16:16:59 GMT Note that there's no content-type header. I'm sure that adding one would solve the problem, but that's not an option. The real problem is that Firefox appears to be ignoring the dataType: parameter in the ajax call. I've also tried adding contentType: and accepts: parameters, but it doesn't help. What am I missing here? How do I force Firefox to process the response as plain text?

  Hi everyone, i'm trying to realize non-editable QTableView with widgets in cells that should contain clickable listed text. With following code i'm setting widget in definite cell: view = QTableView() label = QLabel( <some html text> ) ... view.setIndexWidget(index, label) I used html to make label's text clickable, but links became blue with underline and moreover by clicking on it with right mouse button appears popup menu with "Copy Link Locaion" option, where i wanted to place some hidden information instead of url and of course do not let user see this info. I'm looking for light-weight widget, i thought that insertion of QGraphicsView in each cell will lead to big computer loads, but can't think of any other solution.   I'm loading an external script (that creates a new window component) into a panel, which works fine. Now, I want to access the created window from a callback function to register a closed event handler. I've tried the following: panel.load({ scripts: true, url: '/createWindow', callback: function(el, success, response, options) { panel.findByType("window")[0].on("close", function { alert("Closed"); }); } }); However, the panel seems to be empty all the time, the findByType method keeps returning an empty collection. I've tried adding events handlers for events like added to the panel but none of them got fired. So the question is: how do I access the window in the panel to register my close event handler on it?

  I use the StreamReader class to obtain XML for my GeoCoding process from Google. StreamReader srGeoCode = new StreamReader(WebRequest.Create(Url).GetResponse().GetResponseStream()); String GeoCodeXml = srGeoCode.ReadToEnd(); XmlDocument XmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); GeoCode oGeoCode = new GeoCode(); XmlDoc.Load(GeoCodeXml); I get XML back but it adds \n and other extras to the XML <?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" ?>\n<kml xmlns=\"http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0\"><Response>\n <name> I have the same code in VB and it does not do this. I can successfully GeoCode my information using the VB version of this console app. Is there a reason the C# version adds this extra data to the XML that I retrieve back? I am trying my best to convert everything over to C#. I enjoy coding in it over VB.

  Hi all I would like to use Performance Monitor to check the CPU consumption of my process. Right now I am working on a MultiCore machine. If I have a look at my process in TASK MANAGER I see that my process consumes 20% of CPU. If I start performance monitor, I select Process--% Processor Time I see values peaking up and over 100%. Do you know why and how to get the real measure? I also looked at the CPU consumption for all of my 4 cores, but I don't know exactly how to attribute consumption to my process. If you can suggest a link or url about how to read CPU usage I would really appreciate! Thanks a lot! AFG
