  • How to start a local server and open it in a browser from a shell script

    I have a test suite which runs in a browser (using QUnit, though that's unimportant). The test suite requires a local server running on a particular port. Running the tests currently involves a few steps: node test/server switch to browser of choice open localhost:3000 I'd like to have a single command which starts the server then runs open localhost:3000. Ideally, the node process would remain in the foreground so it could be killed with ^C. I don't have a good understanding of subshells, so I'm not sure whether this is possible.

How do I setup the virtual machine so I can access the website from a browser on the host machine. The host machine is also running WinXP. For example if I highlight the text "google chrome" and right click to activate the chrome extension it will open http://example.com/index.php?q=google%20chrome in a new tab.     Hi all, I was wondering if it was possible for jQuery to find a file extension based on a returned string? A filename (string) will be passed to a function (openFile) and I wanted that function to do different things based on what file has been passed through, it could be image files or pdf files. function openFile(file) { //if .jpg/.gif/.png do something //if .zip/.rar do something else //if .pdf do something else }; I've been looking for something that will find the file's extension but I can't seem to find anything.

    I'm writing a Visual Studio editor extension using the VS 2010 SDK RC. I'd like to be able to figure out what the references of the current project are. How do I get access to the project corresponding to the current editor? The documentation on editor extensions doesn't seem to include information on how to access non-editor parts of Visual Studio. I did some searching and it looks like in VS2008 you could write add-ins that would access the project system, but I'm trying to get at this functionality from a MEF editor extension.

    I have an issue in Expression Engine using the Champagne Extension where it won't allow me to send out campaigns. This extension utilizes https://www.campaignmonitor.com/ api to send out mass emails. The Error I get is "HTML Content URL Required" when I try to send out campaigns form the back end of the Expression Engine Install. What could be causing this issue that relates to the expression engine install?
