• Programming terms - field, member, properties (C#)

  Hi, I was trying to find meaning of this terms but especially due to language barrier I was not able to understand what they are used for. I assume that "field" is variable (object too?) in the class while "property" is just an object that returns specific value and cannot contain methods etc. By "member" I understand any object that is declared on the class level. But these are just my assumptions based on commented code samples where some careful programmers used "property region" etc. I would really appreciate if someone could explain it to me.

I guess that in each loop it advances to next element of assoc.array. But what is this generally called in PHP? I am just not used to see '=' in loop condition.

  Hi guys, I have an issue with a query I'm trying to run on some data, I guess the place to start is to describe the data. Ok so I have a list of email addresses, each email address has a unique ID and an account ID Also in my tables I have a set number which auto incrememnts, this will allow me to target duplicate email addresses What I need to do is something like this. Insert into duplicates (EMAIL,ACCOUNTID,ID) SELECT Email,AccountID,ID FROM EmailAddresses Group by Email,AccountID Having Count(email)>1 Order by AccountID, Email So essentially I want to select all duplicate email addresses and insert them (and their relative fields) into a new table broken down by accountID so I can run some further querys on it. I have been battling with this for way too long and could just use a fresh perspective. Cheers in advance

  I'm trying to set up a batch file to automatically deploy a php app to a web server. Basically, what I want is an entirely automated process: I would just give it a revision number from the repository and it would then export the files, upload via ftp and then update deployment info at the repo host (codebase). However, I'm starting from scratch here. How would I set up a batch file to accept a variable when it was run? For example, the command myfile.bat /revision 42 should deploy revision 42 to my server. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

This is cool, as I've always done something like that in 2 lines, i.e. create the new object instance and assigned it to a variable, then called the method on it.   I keep getting an uncaught syntex error which I know usually means your code has a missing closing something. I keep failing to see what it is that I am missing. The idea of the function is that it extracts the a links ID and Text content and add's it to an un-ordered list. The links have a class of 'ingredient_add' and the unordered list has an ID of 'ingredientsAdded'. • F# function calling syntax confusion

  I have a piece of code: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> x.GetAttributeValue ("href", "no url")) Which I wanted to rewrite to: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> (x.GetAttributeValue "href" "no url")) But the F# compiler doesn't seem to like that. I was under the impression that these two function calls were interchangeable: f (a, b) (f a b) The error that I get is: The member or object constructor 'GetAttributeValue' taking 2 arguments are not accessible from this code location. All accessible versions of method 'GetAttributeValue' take 2 arguments. Which seems amusing, as it seems to indicate that it needs what I'm giving it. What am I missing here?

  I have a string a and I would like to split it in half depending on its length, so I have a-front = len(a) / 2 + len(a) % 2 this works fine in the interpreter but when i run the module from the command line python gives me a SyntaxError: can't assign to operator. What could be the issue here.

  Hello; Why can't I start a line using a parenthesis followed by the keyword new?? For example: (New <custom_obj>).foo(var) In that case is obvious that I'm trying to avoid creating a named instance of the the <custom_obj> because I know that I'll only be using it at that sentence. If I'm trying to find all records that start with 'C' with either a flag of 2 or a status of 9, do I need to incorporate the 'C' criteria twice? i.e., "SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE name like 'C%' AND flag = 2 OR name like 'C%' AND status = 9" Or, is there a way quicker way to write it so that I only need to set 'C%' once?

  This piece of code has previously worked but I have C&P it to a new place and for some reason, it now won't work! <? $user_image = '/images/users/' . $_SESSION['id'] . 'a.jpg'; if (file_exists(realpath(dirname(__FILE__) . $user_image))) { echo '<img src="'.$user_image.'" alt="" />'; } else { echo '<img src="/images/users/small.jpg" alt="" />'; } ?> As you can see, I am checking for a file, if exists, showing it, if not, showing a placeholder. The $_SESSION['id'] variable does exist and is being used elsewhere within the script. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks
