  • packaging and distributing Python code as executables

    How can I compile my python module into an executable, and distribute it in a way that doesn't require the user to download all the external Python packages that the module I wrote uses? Aside from that, is there a general guy on packaging and distributing python code? i.e. going from a script/module to someone that's user-friendly and can be run, ideally cross-platform (at least between unix and mac). thanks.

    I am trying to develop an Facebook application (apps.facebook.com/some_app) using PHP where I need to present some information based on user's music interests. I found that its under "user_likes games". My problems are as follows: To gain access, I have implemented the oauth dialog method as suggested in API in my index page. $auth_url = "http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=" . $app_id . "&redirect_uri=" . urlencode($canvas_page) ."&scope=user_likes"; After successful authorization I come back to index page with "code" as parameters. http://MY_CANVAS_PAGE/?code=some base64 encoded letters Firstly I don't know if I need access_token just to read user's music interests but I have tried all the methods suggested.   • javascript simple object creation test: opera leaks?

    Hi, I am trying to figure out certain memory leak conditions in javascript on a few browsers. Currently I'm only testing FF 3.6, Opera 10.10, and Safari 4.0.3. I've started with a fairly simple test, and can confirm no memory leaks in Firefox and Safari. But Opera just takes memory and never gives it back. What gives? No luck. As you can see this is simple JS, no circular DOM links, no closures. I monitor the memory usage using 'top' on Mac 10.4.11. Memory usage spikes up on page load, as expected. In FF and Safari reloading the page does not use any further memory, and all memory is returned when the window (tab) is closed. In Opera, memory spikes on load, and seems to also spike further on each reload (but not always...). But regardless of reload, memory never goes back down below the initial load spike. I had hoped this was a no-brainer test that all browsers would pass, so I could move on to more "interesting" conditions. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a known Opera issue?     In former Mac OS x versions it was possible to call Cocoa methods via the "call method" command in applescript ("Applescript Studio"). E.g. this way: set theURL to "http://www.apple.com" set URLWithString to (call method "stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:" of theURL with parameter 30) The script interpreter in the "Applescript Editor" (10.6) does not understand the command "call method". - Is there an equivalent for "Applescript Editor" (10.6)?

  • AJAX modalpopupextender pressing enter when cancel is focused doesn't trigger cancel

    Been using the Ajax modalpopupextender. I used a script to set focus on the cancel button when it gets showed on the page but when I press enter (expecting that cancel would've been triggered since it was focused) it went ahead and triggered the event for the OK button (which, unfortunately was a delete event). I've tried using various methods for focusing on the Cancel button and trying to make it work. Anyone know how to make this work?

  • File permissions changed between OS X and Windows

    I zipped a rails project from OS X and sent it to a colleague who works on Windows. He updated the source, zipped the whole project folder and sent the zip file back to me. After unzipping the project, I found that the file permissions information is kind of lost. For example, the script/server is changed from -rwxr-xr-x to -rw-r--r--. Is there a way to preserver the file permission flags, when transferring files between mac and windows? Thanks

I have all of the script files included on the Popup's Master page, so am not sure why it won't fire. Any Thoughts?

    When you create a job schedule in SSRS 2008, the server creates a SQL Server Agent job with a GUID name. Is there a script that can be run to rename the shared job schedule in the ReportServer database to another name? I would like to do this to make it easier to organize subscriptions in the Job Activity Monitor since I have a very large number of subscriptions mixed in with other jobs on my database server.
