  • Using a Case statement within the values section of an Insert statement

    - by mattgcon
    Please forgive my ignorance and poor SQL programming skills but I am normally a basic SQL developer. I need to create a trigger off the insertion of data in one table to insert different data into another table. Within this trigger I need to insert certain data into the new table based upon values within the newly inserted data from the original table. I am totally confused on this. i thought I would be creative and use a case statement within teh Values section but it is not working. Can anyone please help me on this? (below is the code for the trigger that I have as of now) INSERT INTO dbo.WebOnlineUserPeopleDashboard ( ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, ONLINE_ROOMS_DIRECTORY, ONLINE_ROOMS_LIST, ONLINE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT, ONLINE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_DIRECTORY, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_LIST, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_MEMBERS, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_MANAGER, ONLINE_PEOPLESEARCH_DIRECTORY ) VALUES IF (SELECT ONLINE_PEOPLE_FULL_ACCESS FROM INSERTED) = 1 BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 FROM INSERTED END ELSE IF (SELECT ONLINE_PEOPLE_FULL_ACCESS FROM INSERTED) = 0 BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 FROM INSERTED END ELSE BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, CASE --DIRECTORY WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_FULL_ACCESS = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_DELETE = 1 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_PEOPLE_SEARCH = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_PEOPLE_SEARCH = 0 THEN 0 END FROM INSERTED END END

  • How do I pass credentials to a machine so I can use Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.OpenRemoteBaseKey()

    - by JCCyC
This .NET API works OK if I'm trying to open the Registry in a machine that's in the same domain as I am (and my logged-on user has admin rights on the target machine). It gets tricky if it's an out-of-domain machine with a different, local administrative user (of whom I do have the password). I tried to use WNetUseConnection() (which has served me well in the past in situations where what I wanted was to read a remote disk file) prior to calling OpenRemoteBaseKey(), but no dice -- I get an access denied exception. Clearly, I must pass credentials some other way, but how?

  • Error in Visual Studio 2008 with SSRS 2005 report projects

    - by Tj Kellie
Has anyone found a good workaound for opening or editing an SSRS 2005 report project with Visual Studio 2008 yet? Will the SQL server 2008 tools be the migration path for these report projects in the future? I really dont want to have to keep VS2005 installed forever just to update SSRS reports. After an upgrade to VS2008 an existing solution that contains a VS2005 SSRS reports project will not open. From what I understand the SQL Server 2005 tools dont know about VS2008 so they will not integrate into the IDE. So currently I switch back to VS2005 for any updates to this project, and get an error loading project message everytime I open the solution in 2008. EDIT on solution: I was able to install the shared component for BDIS from the SQL2008 disc and am now able to open and update my SSRS 2005 .rdl project items within VS2008. Note to others: If you edit your SSRS 2005 reports in VS2008 and re-save you will not be able to edit them in VS2005 anymore, or deploy them to a 2005 server. They are up-converted to 2008 report files.

  • Cannot receive email outside domain with Microsoft Exchange

    - by Adi
This morning we couldn't receive email from outside our company's domain (domain.com.au), but we can send email to outside (e.g hotmail, gmail, yahoo). When I tried to send email to my work email address using my gmail account, I received this message Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unable to relay for [email protected] (state 14). I tried using telnet to send email, and it works. But still I couldn't figure out why I can't receive email from outside. I'm not sure if I provided enough info. I'll try to provide as much info as needed to help me solve the problem. Thanks

  • Using CakePHP with GoDaddy IIS 7 IIS7 and Microsoft URL Rewriter

    - by ricky
Hi, I'm trying to move a CakePHP app from a Windows Apache setup to a GoDaddy shared IIS7 setup. It's been easy to migrate except for the Apache mod_rewrite part -- which obviously wouldn't work in IIS7. I basically have no url rewriting capability, which is crucial for Cake to work. GoDaddy now offers MS URL Rewriter, but they don't offer technical support for it. I haven't seen any blog post that discusses how to do this in detail. I'd really like to avoid third-party software, especially since GoDaddy provides MS URL Rewriter, which ought to be more than sufficient. The mod_rewrite directives that will allow Cake to work on GoDaddy look ridiculously easy (pasted below); can someone help me convert it to a web.config I can use with URL Rewriter? The URL Rewriter manual is really long and complicated. I'd rather not have to read the whole thing if I don't have to. Here's the contents of the apache .htaccess file: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L] </IfModule> Here's a link that discusses GoDaddy's limited support for URL Rewriter: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/416727/url-rewriting-under-iis-at-godaddy Many thanks! • django-mptt fields showing up twice, breaking SQL

    - by Dominic Rodger
I'm using django-mptt to manage a simple CMS, with a model called Page, which looks like this (most presumably irrelevant fields removed): class Page(mptt.Model, BaseModel): title = models.CharField(max_length = 20) slug = AutoSlugField(populate_from = 'title') contents = models.TextField() parent = models.ForeignKey('self', null=True, blank=True, related_name='children', help_text = u'The page this page lives under.') removed fields are called attachments, headline_image, nav_override, and published All works fine using SQLite, but when I use MySQL and try and add a Page using the admin (or using ModelForms and the save() method), I get this: ProgrammingError at /admin/mycms/page/add/ (1110, "Column 'level' specified twice") where the SQL generated is: 'INSERT INTO `kaleo_page` (`title`, `slug`, `contents`, `nav_override`, `parent_id`, `published`, `headline_image_id`, `lft`, `rght`, `tree_id`, `level`, `lft`, `rght`, `tree_id`, `level`) VALUES (%s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s, %s)' for some reason I'm getting the django-mptt fields (lft, rght, tree_id and level) twice. It works in SQLite presumably because SQLite is more forgiving about what it accepts than MySQL. get_all_field_names() also shows them twice: >>> Page._meta.get_all_field_names() ['attachments', 'children', 'contents', 'headline_image', 'id', 'level', 'lft', 'nav_override', 'parent', 'published', 'rght', 'slug', 'title', 'tree_id'] Which is presumably why the SQL is bad. What could I have done that would result in those fields appearing twice in get_all_field_names()?

  • Convert Microsoft Visio Drawing (vsd) to PDF automatically

    - by nhinkle
An open-source project I am working on uses Visio drawings for documentation, which are checked into source control. For those working on the project who don't own Visio, we have been converting the vsd files to PDFs so that they can still view them. It's not too difficult to save a copy as a PDF when making changes to the documentation, but we would like an automated way to do this conversion, so that we can set it up as a pre-checkin script in the SVN client. If anybody knows of a way to do this, either using something built-in to Visio, or with an outside script or command line tool, we would appreciate it. Edit: Thanks to the suggestion below, I have found the Visio Viewer 2010. This will be helpful for our contributors using Windows. We would still like to have the ability to create PDFs though, as there are readers available on every major operating system, and our contributors will not be using only Windows.

  • Microsoft Workflow - "Event cannot be delivered"

    - by Wojtek
I have strange problem. My application is using Windows Workflow Foundation. It is simple app that creates requests and then other presons accepts/denies these requests. Everything was working very fine until my client took application to other servers (app and db). From this time WF instances are created in DB but when app tries to fire event to WF instance it strikes exception: "Event "EventName" for instance id "instanceGUID" cannot be delivered". What went wrong? Any suggestion where to start find the problem?

  • Configuration Error ASP.NET password format specified is invalid

    - by salvationishere
I am getting the above error in IIS 6.0 now when I browse my C# / SQL web application. This was built in VS 2008 and SS 2008 on a 32-bit XP OS. The application was working before I added Login controls to it. However, this is my first time configuring Login/password controls so I am probably missing something really basic. The Network Service account has SELECT, EXECUTE, INSERT, UPDATE access to this database. But one problem I see is that all of the tables in this database are empty except for aspnet_SchemaVersions, which just has 2 records (common and membership). Is this right? I added users and roles via ASP.NET Configuration wizard, and I believe I set this up correctly since I followed the Microsoft tutorial at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998347.aspx. One other problem I see from VS is after adding content to my Page_Load on my initial login Password.aspx.cs file, I'm getting an invalid cast problem below. I googled this problem also but the solutions I saw confused me even more. The Page_Load section I added is: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { Response.Write("Hello, " + Server.HtmlEncode(User.Identity.Name)); FormsIdentity id = (FormsIdentity)User.Identity; FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = id.Ticket; Response.Write("<p/>TicketName: " + ticket.Name); Response.Write("<br/>Cookie Path: " + ticket.CookiePath); Response.Write("<br/>Ticket Expiration: " + ticket.Expiration.ToString()); Response.Write("<br/>Expired: " + ticket.Expired.ToString()); Response.Write("<br/>Persistent: " + ticket.IsPersistent.ToString()); Response.Write("<br/>IssueDate: " + ticket.IssueDate.ToString()); Response.Write("<br/>UserData: " + ticket.UserData); Response.Write("<br/>Version: " + ticket.Version.ToString()); } And the VS exception I'm getting: System.InvalidCastException was unhandled by user code Message="Unable to cast object of type 'System.Security.Principal.GenericIdentity' to type 'System.Web.Security.FormsIdentity'." Source="AddFileToSQL" StackTrace: at AddFileToSQL.Password.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\AddFileToSQL2\AddFileToSQL\Password.aspx.cs:line 22 at System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) at System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) InnerException:

  • Entity Framework query not returning correctly enumerated results.

    - by SkippyFire
I have this really strange problem where my entity framework query isn't enumerating correctly. The SQL Server table I'm using has a table with a Sku field, and the column is "distinct". It isn't a key, but it doesn't contain any duplicate values. Using actual SQL with where, distinct and group by cluases I have confirmed this. However, when I do this: // Not good foreach(var product in dc.Products) or // Not good foreach(var product in dc.Products.ToList()) or // Not good foreach(var product in dc.Products.OrderBy(p => p.Sku)) the first two objects that are returned ARE THE SAME!!! The third item was technically the second item in the table, but then the fourth item was the first row from the table again!!! The only solution I have found is to use the Distinct extension method, which shouldn't really do anything in this situation: // Good foreach(var product in dc.Products.ToList().Distinct()) Another weird thing about this is that the count of the resulting queries is the same!!! So whether or not the resulting enumerable has the correct results or duplicates, I always get the number of rows in the actual table! (No I don't have a limit clause anywhere). What could possibly cause this!?!?!?

  • Custom RoleProvider: Can't insert record in UsersInRole Table

    - by mahr.g.mohyuddin
Hi, I have implemented a LINQ to SQL based RoleProvider, when I assign role to a user following exception is thrown while AddUsersToRoles method is called. I have defined a composite primary key userid & roleId on this table, it still throwing this exception: Can't perform Create, Update or Delete operations on 'Table(UsersInRole)' because it has no primary key. My LinQ to SQL implementation of AddUsersToRoles method is as follows. It breaks at db.UsersInRoles.InsertOnSubmit(userInRole); using (RussarmsDataContext db = new RussarmsDataContext()) { List<UsersInRole> usersInRole = new List<UsersInRole>(); foreach (string username in usernames) { foreach (string rolename in rolenames) { UsersInRole userInRole = new UsersInRole(); object userId = ProvidersUtility.GetUserIdByUserName(username, applicationName); object roleId = ProvidersUtility.GetRoleIdByRoleName(rolename, applicationName); if (userId != null && roleId != null) { userInRole.UserId = (Guid)userId; userInRole.RoleId = (Guid)roleId; db.UsersInRoles.InsertOnSubmit(userInRole); } } } try { // db.UsersInRoles.InsertAllOnSubmit(usersInRole); db.SubmitChanges(); } catch (ChangeConflictException) { db.ChangeConflicts.ResolveAll(RefreshMode.OverwriteCurrentValues); db.SubmitChanges(); } } Any help will be appreciated. • How do I eliminate Error 3002?

    - by Andrew
Say I have the following table definitions in SQL Server 2008: CREATE TABLE Person (PersonId INT IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, Name VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, ManyMoreIrrelevantColumns VARCHAR(MAX) NOT NULL) CREATE TABLE Model (ModelId INT IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, ModelName VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, Description VARCHAR(200) NULL) CREATE TABLE ModelScore (ModelId INT NOT NULL REFERENCES Model (ModelId), Score INT NOT NULL, Definition VARCHAR(100) NULL, PRIMARY KEY (ModelId, Score)) CREATE TABLE PersonModelScore (PersonId INT NOT NULL REFERENCES Person (PersonId), ModelId INT NOT NULL, Score INT NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (PersonId, ModelId), FOREIGN KEY (ModelId, Score) REFERENCES ModelScore (ModelId, Score)) The idea here is that each Person may have only one ModelScore per Model, but each Person may have a score for any number of defined Models. As far as I can tell, this SQL should enforce these constraints naturally. The ModelScore has a particular "meaning," which is contained in the Definition. Nothing earth-shattering there. Now, I try translating this into Entity Framework using the designer. After updating the model from the database and doing some editing, I have a Person object, a Model object, and a ModelScore object. PersonModelScore, being a join table, is not an object but rather is included as an association with some other name (let's say ModelScorePersonAssociation). The mapping details for the association are as follows: - Association - Maps to PersonModelScore - ModelScore ModelId : Int32 <=> ModelId : int Score : Int32 <=> Score : int - Person PersonId : Int32 <=> PersonId : int On the right-hand side, the ModelId and PersonId values have primary key symbols, but the Score value does not. Upon compilation, I get: Error 3002: Problem in Mapping Fragment starting at line 5190: Potential runtime violation of table PersonModelScore's keys (PersonModelScore.ModelId, PersonModelScore.PersonId): Columns (PersonModelScore.PersonId, PersonModelScore.ModelId) are mapped to EntitySet ModelScorePersonAssociation's properties (ModelScorePersonAssociation.Person.PersonId, ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.ModelId) on the conceptual side but they do not form the EntitySet's key properties (ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.ModelId, ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.Score, ModelScorePersonAssociation.Person.PersonId). What have I done wrong in the designer or otherwise, and how can I fix the error? Many thanks!

  • Create System.Data.Linq.Table in Code for Testing

    - by S. DePouw
I have an adapter class for Linq-to-Sql: public interface IAdapter : IDisposable { Table<Data.User> Activities { get; } } Data.User is an object defined by Linq-to-Sql pointing to the User table in persistence. The implementation for this is as follows: public class Adapter : IAdapter { private readonly SecretDataContext _context = new SecretDataContext(); public void Dispose() { _context.Dispose(); } public Table<Data.User> Users { get { return _context.Users; } } } This makes mocking the persistence layer easy in unit testing, as I can just return whatever collection of data I want for Users (Rhino.Mocks): Expect.Call(_adapter.Users).Return(users); The problem is that I cannot create the object 'users' since the constructors are not accessible and the class Table is sealed. One option I tried is to just make IAdapter return IEnumerable or IQueryable, but the problem there is that I then do not have access to the methods ITable provides (e.g. InsertOnSubmit()). Is there a way I can create the fake Table in the unit test scenario so that I may be a happy TDD developer?

    Hi, I've encountered a cryptic error message thrown by Sybase IQ server. com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybSQLException: ASA Error -1001019: Function not supported on varchars longer than 255 Length of Bind host variable exceeds MaxLength , -- (df_Heap.cxx 2145) at com.sybase.jdbc2.tds.Tds.processEed(Tds.java:2636) at com.sybase.jdbc2.tds.Tds.nextResult(Tds.java:1996) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.ResultGetter.nextResult(ResultGetter.java:69) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybStatement.nextResult(SybStatement.java:204) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybStatement.nextResult(SybStatement.java:187) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybStatement.updateLoop(SybStatement.java:1642) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybStatement.executeUpdate(SybStatement.java:1625) at com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybPreparedStatement.executeUpdate(SybPreparedStatement.java:91) at ibs.dao.CM3RM1DAO.updateToTable(CM3RM1DAO.java:197) at ibs.dao.CM3RM1DAO.isXMLProcessed(CM3RM1DAO.java:88) at ibs.xml.parser.XMLParser.parsingXMLIntoBO(XMLParser.java:2125) at ibs.common.util.MainClass.main(MainClass.java:74) We have several columns (DESCRIPTION etc.) which are of type varchar(4000). However I can update them directly without having any error. And, I don't see any code specifying any bind variables, so I have no idea where the message comes from. This is the code (I've modified it a bit): String sql = "UPDATE TABLEX SET " + "COMPANY = ?, CUSTOMER_REFERENCE= ?, " + "STATUS = ?, CONTACT_FIRST_NAME = ?, CONTACT_LAST_NAME = ?, " + "SEVERITY = ?, PRIORITY_CODE = ?, REQUESTEDDATE = ?, " + "CLOSE_TIME = ?, LEAD_TIME = ?, CHANGE_REASON = ?, MODTIME = ? WHERE NUMBER = ?"; stmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql); for loop here { stmt.setString(...); . . stmt.executeUpdate(); } Any help is appreciated

  • Microsoft Entrourage: rendering hyperlinks?

    - by rehanift
When we send emails from my project, we send in both text/plain and text/html formats. All major clients (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, thunderbird, outlook) correctly display the simple HTML that we are using. However, Entourage renders all tags EXCEPT hyperlinks. What is confusing is that emails from other domains render hyperlinks correctly in Entourage. We have tried comparing the source / headers of our emails with others emails that seem to "work" and don't see any obvious differences. I googled around this issue and the only thing I could find what that Entourage doesn't allow users to insert hyperlinks when composing a message. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

  • When should one use the following: Amazon EC2, Google App Engine, Microsoft Azure and Salesforce.com

    - by vicky21
I am asking this in very general sense. Both from cloud provider and cloud consumer's perspective. Also the question is not for any specific kind of application (in fact the intention is to know which type of applications/domains can fit into which of the cloud slab -SaaS PaaS IaaS). My understanding so far is: IaaS: Raw Hardware (Processors, Networks, Storage). PaaS: OS, System Softwares, Development Framework, Virtual Machines. SaaS: Software Applications. It would be great if Stackoverflower's can share their understanding and experiences of cloud computing concept. EDIT: Ok, I will put it in more specific way - Amazon EC2: You don't have control over hardware layer. But you can take your choice of OS image, Dev Framework (.NET, J2EE, LAMP) and Application and put it on EC2 hardware. Can you deploy an applications built with Google App Engine or Azure on EC2? Google App Engine: You don't have control over hardware and OS and you get a specific Dev Framework to build your application. Can you take any existing Java or Python application and port it to GAE? Or vice versa, can applications that were built on GAE be taken out of GAE and ported to any Application Server like Websphere or Weblogic? Azure: You don't have control over hardware and OS and you get a specific Dev Framework to build your application. Can you take any existing .NET application and port it to Azure? Or vice versa, can applications that were built on Azure be taken out of Azure and ported to any Application Server like Biztalk?

  • Unable to run Ajax Minifier as post-build in Visual Studio.

    - by James South
I've set up my post build config as demonstrated at http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/ajaxminquickstart.ashx I'm getting the following error though: The "JsSourceFiles" parameter is not supported by the "AjaxMin" task. Verify the parameter exists on the task, and it is a settable public instance property. My configuration settings...... <Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\Microsoft\MicrosoftAjax\ajaxmin.tasks" /> <Target Name="AfterBuild"> <ItemGroup> <JS Include="**\*.js" Exclude="**\*.min.js" /> </ItemGroup> <ItemGroup> <CSS Include="**\*.css" Exclude="**\*.min.css" /> </ItemGroup> <AjaxMin JsSourceFiles="@(JS)" JsSourceExtensionPattern="\.js$" JsTargetExtension=".min.js" CssSourceFiles="@(CSS)" CssSourceExtensionPattern="\.css$" CssTargetExtension=".min.css" /> </Target> I had a look at the AjaxMinTask.dll with reflector and noted that the publicly exposed properties do not match the ones in my config. There is an array of ITaskItem called SourceFiles though so I edited my configuration to match. <Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\Microsoft\MicrosoftAjax\ajaxmin.tasks" /> <Target Name="AfterBuild"> <ItemGroup> <JS Include="**\*.js" Exclude="**\*.min.js" /> </ItemGroup> <ItemGroup> <CSS Include="**\*.css" Exclude="**\*.min.css" /> </ItemGroup> <AjaxMin SourceFiles="@(JS);@(CSS)" SourceExtensionPattern="\.js$;\.css$" TargetExtension=".min.js;.min.css"/> </Target> I now get the error: The "SourceFiles" parameter is not supported by the "AjaxMin" task. Verify the parameter exists on the task, and it is a settable public instance property. I'm scratching my head now. Surely it should be easier than this? I'm running Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on a Windows 7 64 bit installation.

  • Installing a COM object without privileged access for use in Microsoft Office

    - by bmargulies
Start with a series of MS Office extensions built in C++ as COM objects. Add a user who really badly wants to avoid the requirement of an installer with the necessary privileges to write to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. I've seem bits of evidence that MS has created some sort of trick for shadowing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT from HKCU. Is this, in fact, possible? If so, can this be installed as a non-privileged MSI, or does it have to be arranged otherwise? And, finally, what's the minimum version of Windows required?

  • DataTableReader is invalid for current DataTable 'TempTable'

    - by Sk93
Hi, I'm getting the following error whenever my code creates a DataTableReader from a valid DataTable Object: "DataTableReader is invalid for current DataTable 'TempTable'." The thing is, if I reboot my machine, it works fine for an undertimed amount of time, then dies with the above. The code that throws this error could have been working fine for hours and then: bang. you get this error. It's not limited to one line either; it's every single location that a DataTableReader is used. Also, this error does NOT occur on the production web server - ever. This is an example of one of the lines where it falls over: If I step over this line, I get this: However, if I do this in the immediate window: I get no problems. Same goes if I actually use that line in the code. This has been driving me nuts for the best part of a week, and I've failed to find anything on Google that could help (as I'm pretty positive this isn't a coding issue). Some technical info: DEV Box: Vista 32bit (with all current windows updates) Visual Studio 2008 v9.0.30729.1 SP dotNet Framework 3.5 SP1 SQL Server: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition- 9.00.4035.00 (X64) Windows 2003 64bit (with all current windows updates) Web Server: Windows 2003 64bit (with all current windows updates) any help, ideas, or advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Ian

  • Which career path to take to get hired by big companies like Google and Microsoft

    - by Wonder
I am in second year computer science program. This summer I am starting a quality database developer position at RIM for 8 months. My goal is to work as a software developer (architect or consultant eventually) at Google. After this 8 months, I am still going to do 12 months of co-op. In which direction should I be trying to steer my career in? Is there any certain positions (other than software developer) or companies I should work for?
