  • Need help with an AJAX workflow

    - by Anders
    Sorry I couldn't be more descriptive with the title, I will elaborate fully below: I have a web application that I want to implement some AJAX functionality into. Currently, it is running ASP.NET 3.5 with VB.NET codebehind. My current "problem" is I want to dynamically be able to populate a DIV when a user clicks an item on a list. The list item currently contains a HttpUtility.UrlEncode() (ASP.NET) string of the content that should appear in the DIV. Example: <li onclick="setFAQ('The+maximum+number+of+digits+a+patient+account+number+can+contain+is+ten+(10).');"> What is the maximum number of digits a patient account number can contain?</li> I can decode the string partially with the JavaScript function unescape() but it does not fully decode the string. I would much rather pass the JavaScript function the faq ID then somehow pull the information from the database where it originates. I am 99% sure it is impossible to call an ASP function from within a JavaScript function, so I am kind of stumped. I am kind of new to AJAX/ASP.NET so this is a learning experience for me.

  • Automation Error when exporting Excel data to SQL Server

    - by brohjoe
    I'm getting an Automation error upon running VBA code in Excel 2007. I'm attempting to connect to a remote SQL Server DB and load data to from Excel to SQL Server. The error I get is, "Run-time error '-2147217843(80040e4d)': Automation error". I checked out the MSDN site and it suggested that this may be due to a bug associated with the sqloledb provider and one way to mitigate this is to use ODBC. Well I changed the connection string to reflect ODBC provider and associated parameters and I'm still getting the same error. Here is the code with ODBC as the provider: Dim cnt As ADODB.Connection Dim rst As ADODB.Recordset Dim stSQL As String Dim wbBook As Workbook Dim wsSheet As Worksheet Dim rnStart As Range Public Sub loadData() 'This was set up using Microsoft ActiveX Data Components version 6.0. 'Create ADODB connection object, open connection and construct the connection string object. Set cnt = New ADODB.Connection cnt.ConnectionString = "Driver={SQL Server}; Server=onlineSQLServer2010.foo.com; Database=fooDB;Uid=logonalready;Pwd='helpmeOB1';" cnt.Open On Error GoTo ErrorHandler 'Open Excel and run query to export data to SQL Server. strSQL = "SELECT * INTO SalesOrders FROM OPENDATASOURCE('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0'," & _ "'Data Source=C:\Database.xlsx; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0')...[SalesOrders$]" cnt.Execute (strSQL) 'Error handling. ErrorExit: 'Reclaim memory from the connection objects Set rst = Nothing Set cnt = Nothing Exit Sub ErrorHandler: MsgBox Err.Description, vbCritical Resume ErrorExit 'clean up and reclaim memory resources. If CBool(cnt.State And adStateOpen) Then Set rst = Nothing Set cnt = Nothing cnt.Close End If End Sub

  • Liferay hook: filter url giving filterstart error and current url generates exception null

    - by jack
    I'm trying to make an autologinfilter in Eclipse using a liferay hook. Now I've added the: <filter> <filter-name>myautologinfilter</filter-name> <filter-class>bla.bla.xyz</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>myautologinfilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>/c/login/myurl</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> To the liferay hook's web.xml. In the liferay-hook.xml I added: portal.properties And in that hook.xml I added: auto.login.hooks=bla.bla.xyz bla.bla.xyz implements AutoLogin, but for now it's pretty gutted: @Override public String[] login(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws AutoLoginException { Object parameters = request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.forward.query_string"); Map<String, String> x = parserClass.parsing(parameters.toString()); System.out.println("voornaam: " + geparsdeParameters.get("tokenvalue1")); try { return null; } catch (Exception e) { throw new AutoLoginException(e); } } Since the hook doesn't start when I add the filtering I removed it and just tried: http://localhost:8080/c/portal/login?tokenvalue1=55 but when I check my tomcat I see: Error XYZ Url: url myUsedUrl exception null Also I tried adding some util classes but I got: classnotfoundexceptions. Is there anything specific I have to do when I add extra classes in a hook? Any advice/input would be appreciated. Or someone's ear I could lend so I could mail them a little bit so I could pick their brain a bit would be really appreciated since I don't know anyone who programs for liferay.

  • How to improve Java performance on Informix for Windows

    - by Michal Niklas
    I have problem with performance of Java UDR functions on Informix on Windows. On this server I already have some functions in C and SPL. I chose one function to write it in those 3 languages and I measured performance of this function on test table. Function calculates some kind of checksum so it does not use any db libraries etc. only string and math operations. I observed performance on 30k records with SQL like: select function(txt) from _tmp_perf_test and I changed function to 'function_c, function_spl or function_java. My performance tests showed that C function is the fastest, SPL function is about 5 times slower, where Java is 100 (one hundred!) times slower than C. I checked it few times and 1:100 ratio didn't improve. I changed Java function to simply return length of the string but even this do not help so it looks, that there is general problem with Java function invocation, because there was no difference in time between Java function that calculate checksum and Java function that returns length of the string. I increased JVM_MAX_HEAP_SIZE to 128 and it not helped too. I use IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.TC6DE. The same test on Linux server: IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC6 show more "normal" results, i.e. Java is slower from C and SPL but only 2 to 5 times. What can I do to improve Java performance on Informix server on Windows? • Is this correct for disposing an object using IDisposable

    - by robUK
    I have a class that implements the IDisposable interface. I am using a webclient to download some data using the AsyncDownloadString. I am wondering have I correctly declared my event handlers in the constructor and within the using statement of the web client? And is this correct way to remove the event handlers in the Dispose method? Overrule is this the correct way to use the IDisposable interface? public class Balance : IDisposable { //Constructor WebClient wc; public Balance() { using (wc = new WebClient()) { //Create event handler for the progress changed and download completed events wc.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(wc_DownloadProgressChanged); wc.DownloadStringCompleted += new DownloadStringCompletedEventHandler(wc_DownloadStringCompleted); } } ~Balance() { this.Dispose(false); } //Get the current balance for the user that is logged in. //If the balance returned from the server is NULL display error to the user. //Null could occur if the DB has been stopped or the server is down. public void GetBalance(string sipUsername) { //Remove the underscore ( _ ) from the username, as this is not needed to get the balance. sipUsername = sipUsername.Remove(0, 1); string strURL = string.Format("https://www.xxxxxxx.com", sipUsername); //Download only when the webclient is not busy. if (!wc.IsBusy) { // Download the current balance. wc.DownloadStringAsync(new Uri(strURL)); } else { Console.Write("Busy please try again"); } } //return and display the balance after the download has fully completed void wc_DownloadStringCompleted(object sender, DownloadStringCompletedEventArgs e) { //Pass the result to the event handler } //Dispose of the balance object public void Dispose() { Dispose(true); GC.SuppressFinalize(this); } //Remove the event handlers private bool isDisposed = false; private void Dispose(bool disposing) { if (!this.isDisposed) { if (disposing) { wc.DownloadProgressChanged -= new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(wc_DownloadProgressChanged); wc.DownloadStringCompleted -= new DownloadStringCompletedEventHandler(wc_DownloadStringCompleted); wc.Dispose(); } isDisposed = true; } } }

  • How do I associate Parameters to Command objects in ADO with VBScript?

    - by Krashman5k
    I have been working an ADO VBScript that needs to accept parameters and incorporate those parameters in the Query string that gets passed the the database. I keep getting errors when the Record Set Object attempts to open. If I pass a query without parameters, the recordset opens and I can work with the data. When I run the script through a debugger, the command object does not show a value for the parameter object. It seems to me that I am missing something that associates the Command object and Parameter object, but I do not know what. Here is a bit of the VBScript Code: ... 'Open Text file to collect SQL query string' Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") fileName = "C:\SQLFUN\Limits_ADO.sql" Set tso = fso.OpenTextFile(fileName, FORREADING) SQL = tso.ReadAll 'Create ADO instance' connString = "DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=myserver;UID=MyName;PWD=notapassword; Database=favoriteDB" Set connection = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Set cmd = CreateObject("ADODB.Command") connection.Open connString cmd.ActiveConnection = connection cmd.CommandText = SQL cmd.CommandType = adCmdText Set paramTotals = cmd.CreateParameter With paramTotals .value = "tot%" .Name = "Param1" End With 'The error occurs on the next line' Set recordset = cmd.Execute If recordset.EOF then WScript.Echo "No Data Returned" Else Do Until recordset.EOF WScript.Echo recordset.Fields.Item(0) ' & vbTab & recordset.Fields.Item(1) recordset.MoveNext Loop End If The SQL string that I use is fairly standard except I want to pass a parameter to it. It is something like this: SELECT column1 FROM table1 WHERE column1 IS LIKE ? I understand that ADO should replace the "?" with the parameter value I assign in the script. The problem I am seeing is that the Parameter object shows the correct value, but the command object's parameter field is null according to my debugger.

  • Generate a Version.java file in Maven

    - by Ralph
    I have a Java project that I build using an Ant script. I am trying to convert the project to Maven. One of the tasks generates a Java source file called Version.java that contains a static String representation of the compilation timestamp, as follows: package com.foo.bar; public final class Version { public static String VERSION="100301.1046"; } The Ant task is very simple: <target name="version" depends="init" description="Create Version.java"> <echo file="src/${package.dir}/Version.java" message="package ${package.name};${line.separator}" /> <echo file="src/${package.dir}/Version.java" append="true" message="public final class Version {${line.separator}" /> <echo file="src/${package.dir}/Version.java" append="true" message=" public static String VERSION=&quot;${buildtime}&quot;;${line.separator}" /> <echo file="src/${package.dir}/Version.java" append="true" message="}${line.separator}" /> <echo message="BUILD ${buildtime}" /> </target> Is it possible to do something similar in Maven, using generate-sources, or some other simple method?

  • C# 4.0: casting dynamic to static

    - by Kevin Won
    This is an offshoot question that's related to another I asked here. I'm splitting it off because it's really a sub-question: I'm having difficulties casting an object of type dynamic to another (known) static type. I have an ironPython script that is doing this: import clr clr.AddReference("System") from System import * def GetBclUri(): return Uri("http://google.com") note that it's simply newing up a BCL System.Uri type and returning it. So I know the static type of the returned object. now over in C# land, I'm newing up the script hosting stuff and calling this getter to return the Uri object: dynamic uri = scriptEngine.GetBclUri(); System.Uri u = uri as System.Uri; // casts the dynamic to static fine Works no problem. I now can use the strongly typed Uri object as if it was originally instantiated statically. however.... Now I want to define my own C# class that will be newed up in dynamic-land just like I did with the Uri. My simple C# class: namespace Entity { public class TestPy // stupid simple test class of my own { public string DoSomething(string something) { return something; } } } Now in Python, new up an object of this type and return it: sys.path.append(r'C:..path here...') clr.AddReferenceToFile("entity.dll") import Entity.TestPy def GetTest(): return Entity.TestPy(); // the C# class then in C# call the getter: dynamic test = scriptEngine.GetTest(); Entity.TestPy t = test as Entity.TestPy; // t==null!!! here, the cast does not work. Note that the 'test' object (dynamic) is valid--I can call the DoSomething()--it just won't cast to the known static type string s = test.DoSomething("asdf"); // dynamic object works fine so I'm perplexed. the BCL type System.Uri will cast from a dynamic type to the correct static one, but my own type won't. There's obviously something I'm not getting about this...

  • improving data extraction from text file in Java

    - by owca
    I have CSV file with sample data in this form : 220 30 255 0 0 Javascript 200 20 0 255 128 Thinking in java , where the first column is height, second thickness, next three are rgb values for color and last one is title. All need to be treated as separate variables. I have already written my own solution for this, but I'm wondering if there are no better/easier/shorter ways of doing this. Extracted data will then be used to create Book object, throw every Book into array of books and print it with swing. Here's the code : private static Book[] addBook(Book b, Book[] bookTab){ Book[] tmp = bookTab; bookTab = new Book[tmp.length+1]; for(int i = 0; i < tmp.length; i++){ bookTab[i] = tmp[i]; } bookTab[tmp.length] = b; return bookTab; } public static void main(String[] args) { Book[] books = new Book[0]; try { BufferedReader file = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("K:\\books.txt")); String s; while ((s = file.readLine()) != null) { int hei, thick, R, G, B; String tit; hei = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(0, 3).replaceAll(" ", "")); thick = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(4, 6).replaceAll(" ", "")); R = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(10, 13).replaceAll(" ", "")); G = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(14, 17).replaceAll(" ", "")); B = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(18, 21).replaceAll(" ", "")); tit = s.substring(26); System.out.println(tyt+wys+grb+R+G+B); books = addBook(new Book(wys, grb, R, G, B, tyt),books); } file.close(); } catch (IOException e) { //do nothing } }

  • OAuth secrets in mobile apps

    - by Felixyz
    When using the OAuth protocol, you need a secret string obtained from the service you want to delegate to. If you are doing this in a web app, you can simply store the secret in your data base or on the file system, but what is the best way to handle it in a mobile app (or a desktop app for that matter)? Storing the string in the app is obviously not good, as someone could easily find it and abuse it. Another approach would be to store it on you server, and have the app fetch it on every run, never storing it on the phone. This is almost as bad, because you have to include the URL in the app. I don't believe using https is any help. The only workable solution I can come up with is to first obtain the Access Token as normal (preferably using a web view inside the app), and then route all further communication through our server, where a script would append the secret to the request data and communicates with the provider. Then again, I'm a security noob, so I'd really like to hear some knowledgeable peoples' opinions on this. It doesn't seem to me that most apps are going to these lengths to guarantee security (for example, Facebook Connect seems to assume that you put the secret into a string right in your app). Another thing: I don't believe the secret is involved in initially requesting the Access Token, so that could be done without involving our own server. Am I correct?

  • Qt Jambi: Accessing the content of QNetworkReply

    - by Richard
    Hi All, I'm having trouble accessing the content of QNetworkReply objects. Content appears to be empty or zero. According to the docs (translating from c++ to java) I think I've got this set up correctly, but to no avail. Additionally an "Unknown error" is being reported. Any ideas much appreciated. Code: public class Test extends QObject { private QWebPage page; public Test() { page = new QWebPage(); QNetworkAccessManager nac = new QNetworkAccessManager(); nac.finished.connect(this, "requestFinished(QNetworkReply)"); page.setNetworkAccessManager(nac); page.loadProgress.connect(this, "loadProgress(int)"); page.loadFinished.connect(this, "loadFinished()"); } public void requestFinished(QNetworkReply reply) { reply.reset(); reply.open(OpenModeFlag.ReadOnly); reply.readyRead.connect(this, "ready()"); // never gets called System.out.println("bytes: " + reply.url().toString()); // writes out asset uri no problem System.out.println("bytes: " + reply.bytesToWrite()); // 0 System.out.println("At end: " + reply.atEnd()); // true System.out.println("Error: " + reply.errorString()); // "Unknown error" } public void loadProgress(int progress) { System.out.println("Loaded " + progress + "%"); } public void loadFinished() { System.out.println("Done"); } public void ready() { System.out.println("Ready"); } public void open(String url) { page.mainFrame().load(new QUrl(url)); } public static void main(String[] args) { QApplication.initialize(new String[] { }); Test t = new Test(); t.open("http://news.bbc.co.uk"); QApplication.exec(); } }

  • How can i ignore map property in NHibernate with setter

    - by Emilio Montes
    i need ignore map property with setter in NHibernate, because the relationship between entities is required. this is my simple model public class Person { public virtual Guid PersonId { get; set; } public virtual string FirstName { get; set; } public virtual string SecondName { get; set; } //this is the property that do not want to map public Credential Credential { get; set; } } public class Credential { public string CodeAccess { get; set; } public bool EsPremium { get; set; } } public sealed class PersonMap : ClassMapping<Person> { public PersonMap() { Table("Person"); Cache(x => x.Usage(CacheUsage.ReadWrite)); Id(x => x.Id, m => { m.Generator(Generators.GuidComb); m.Column("PersonId"); }); Property(x => x.FirstName, map => { map.NotNullable(true); map.Length(255); }); Property(x => x.SecondName, map => { map.NotNullable(true); map.Length(255); }); } } I know that if I leave the property Credential {get;} I was not going to take the map of NHibernate, but I need to set the value. • GWT CssResource Customization

    - by Eric Landry
    I'm writing a GWT widget using UIBinder and MVP. The widget's default styles are defined in TheWidgetView.ui.xml: <ui:style type="com.widgetlib.spinner.display.TheWidgetView.MyStyle"> .textbox { border: 1px solid #red; } .important { font-weight: bold; } </ui:style> The widget's CssResource interface is defined in TheWidgetView.java: public class TheWidgetView extends HorizontalPanel implements TheWidgetPresenter.Display { // ... some code @UiField MyStyle style; public interface MyStyle extends CssResource { String textbox(); String important(); } // ... more code } I'd like the consumer of this widget to be able to customize part of the widget's styles and to have this in their MyExample.ui.xml: <ui:style type="com.consumer.MyExample.MyStyle"> .textbox { border: 2px solid #black; } </ui:style> And this be their MyExample.java: public class MyExample extends Composite { // ... some code @UiField MyStyle style; interface MyStyle extends TheWidgetView.MyStyle{ String textbox(); } // ... more code } Is there a way that my widget can have default styles, but that the consumer of the widget can override one of them? When an interface extends TheWidgetView.MyStyle, the of the widget consumer needs to define all the styles listed in that parent interface. I've seen some widget libraries have the widget's constructor take in a ClientBundle as parameter, which I suppose could apply to CssResource. Although, I'm not sure how I'd pass in this style object in a constructor invoked by UIBinder. Thanks much in advance!

  • Unit Testing Error - The unit test adapter failed to connect to the data source or to read the data

    - by michael.lukatchik
    I'm using VSTS 2K8 and I've set up a Unit Test Project. In it, I have a test class with a method that does a simple assertion. I'm using an Excel 2007 spreadsheet as my data source. My test method looks like this: [DataSource("System.Data.Odbc", "Dsn=Excel Files;dbq=|DataDirectory|\\MyTestData.xlsx;defaultdir=C:\\TestData;driverid=1046;maxbuffersize=2048;pagetimeout=5", "Sheet1", DataAccessMethod.Sequential)] [DeploymentItem("MyTestData.xlsx")] [TestMethod()] public void State_Value_Is_Set() { string expected = "MD"; string actual = TestContext.DataRow["State"] as string; Assert.AreEqual(expected, actual); } As indicated in the method decoration attributes, my Excel spreadsheet is on my local C:/ Drive. In it, the sheet where all of my data is located is named "Sheet1". I've copied the Excel spreadsheet into my project and I've set its Build Action = "Content" and I've set its Copy to Output Directory = "Copy if Newer". When trying to run this simple unit test, I receive the following error: The unit test adapter failed to connect to the data source or to read the data. For more information on troubleshooting this error, see "Troubleshooting Data-Driven Unit Tests" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=62412) in the MSDN Library. Error details: ERROR [42S02] [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] The Microsoft Office Access database engine could not find the object 'Sheet1'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly. I've verified that the sheet name is spelled correctly (i.e. Sheet1) and I've verified that my data sources are set correctly. Web searches haven't turned up much at all. And I'm totally stumped. All help or input is appreciated!!!!

I am posting an xml query from Fiddler and i receive the result without any problem. BUT i have done an integration test for the same interface, i send the same objects and i put the response like: final MultipartOutput multiPartOutput = getClient().query(getUserRestAuth(), 0, 25, null, null, null, instanceQuery); But here, so from integration tests, i receive a strange error: Unable to find a MessageBodyReader of content-type multipart/mixed;boundary="74c5b6b4-e820-452d-abea-4c56ffb514bb" and type class org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.providers.multipart.MultipartOutput Anyone has any ideea why only in integration tests i receive this error? PS: Some of you will say that i do not send application/xml as ContentType but multipart, which of course is false because the objects are annotated with the required @XmlRootElement etc, otherways neither the POST from Fiddler would work.

  • Mysteriously empty $_POST array

    - by Lex
    Hi all! I have the following HTML/PHP page: <?php if(empty($_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'])) { $type = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; $_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'] = $type; } echo "<pre>"; var_dump($_POST); var_dump(file_get_contents("php://input")); echo "</pre>"; ?> <form method="post" action="test.php"> <input type="text" name="test[1]" /> <input type="text" name="test[2]" /> <input type="text" name="test[3]" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Go" /> </form> As you can see, the form will submit and the expected output is a POST array with one array in it containing the filled in values and one entry "action" with the value "Go" (the button). However, no matter what values I enter in the fields; the result is always: array(2) { ["test"]=> string(0) "" ["action"]=> string(2) "Go" } string(16) "test=&action=Go&" Somehow, the array named test is emptied, the "action" variable does make it through. I've used the Live HTTP Headers extension for Firefox to check whether the POST fields get submitted, and they do. The relevant information from Live HTTP Headers (with a, b and c filled in as values in the textboxes): Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 51 test%5B1%5D=a&test%5B2%5D=b&test%5B3%5D=c&action=Go Does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening? I'm freaking out on this one, it has cost me so much time already...

  • Comparable and Comparator contract with regards to null

    Comparable contract specifies that e.compareTo(null) must throw NullPointerException. From the API: Note that null is not an instance of any class, and e.compareTo(null) should throw a NullPointerException even though e.equals(null) returns false. On the other hand, Comparator API mentions nothing about what needs to happen when comparing null. Consider the following attempt of a generic method that takes a Comparable, and return a Comparator for it that puts null as the minimum element. static <T extends Comparable<? super T>> Comparator<T> nullComparableComparator() { return new Comparator<T>() { @Override public int compare(T el1, T el2) { return el1 == null ? -1 : el2 == null ? +1 : el1.compareTo(el2); } }; } This allows us to do the following: List<Integer> numbers = new ArrayList<Integer>( Arrays.asList(3, 2, 1, null, null, 0) ); Comparator<Integer> numbersComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(numbers, numbersComp); System.out.println(numbers); // "[null, null, 0, 1, 2, 3]" List<String> names = new ArrayList<String>( Arrays.asList("Bob", null, "Alice", "Carol") ); Comparator<String> namesComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(names, namesComp); System.out.println(names); // "[null, Alice, Bob, Carol]" So the questions are: Is this an acceptable use of a Comparator, or is it violating an unwritten rule regarding comparing null and throwing NullPointerException? Is it ever a good idea to even have to sort a List containing null elements, or is that a sure sign of a design error?

  • convert password encryption from java to php

    - by Obay
    I'm trying to create a PHP version of an existing JSP program, however I'm stuck at the password encryption part. Could you please tell me how to convert this one? I know it tries to get the md5() but after that, I don't get it. I get lost in the Stringbuffer and for() parts. Can you help me out? public static String encryptPassword( String password ) { String encrypted = ""; try { MessageDigest digest = MessageDigest.getInstance( "MD5" ); byte[] passwordBytes = password.getBytes( ); digest.reset( ); digest.update( passwordBytes ); byte[] message = digest.digest( ); StringBuffer hexString = new StringBuffer(); for ( int i=0; i < message.length; i++) { hexString.append( Integer.toHexString( 0xFF & message[ i ] ) ); } encrypted = hexString.toString(); } catch( Exception e ) { } return encrypted; }

  • How to add XmlInclude attribute dynamically

    - by Anindya Chatterjee
    I have the following classes [XmlRoot] public class AList { public List<B> ListOfBs {get; set;} } public class B { public string BaseProperty {get; set;} } public class C : B { public string SomeProperty {get; set;} } public class Main { public static void Main(string[] args) { var aList = new AList(); aList.ListOfBs = new List<B>(); var c = new C { BaseProperty = "Base", SomeProperty = "Some" }; aList.ListOfBs.Add(c); var type = typeof (AList); var serializer = new XmlSerializer(type); TextWriter w = new StringWriter(); serializer.Serialize(w, aList); } } Now when I try to run the code I got an InvalidOperationException at last line saying that The type XmlTest.C was not expected. Use the XmlInclude or SoapInclude attribute to specify types that are not known statically. I know that adding a [XmlInclude(typeof(C))] attribute with [XmlRoot] would solve the problem. But I want to achieve it dynamically. Because in my project class C is not known prior to loading. Class C is being loaded as a plugin, so it is not possible for me to add XmlInclude attribute there. I tried also with TypeDescriptor.AddAttributes(typeof(AList), new[] { new XmlIncludeAttribute(c.GetType()) }); before var type = typeof (AList); but no use. It is still giving the same exception. Does any one have any idea on how to achieve it?

  • Delphi: Fast(er) widestring concatenation

    - by Ian Boyd
    i have a function who's job is to convert an ADO Recordset into html: class function RecordsetToHtml(const rs: _Recordset): WideString; And the guts of the function involves a lot of wide string concatenation: while not rs.EOF do begin Result := Result+CRLF+ '<TR>'; for i := 0 to rs.Fields.Count-1 do Result := Result+'<TD>'+VarAsString(rs.Fields[i].Value)+'</TD>'; Result := Result+'</TR>'; rs.MoveNext; end; With a few thousand results, the function takes, what any user would feel, is too long to run. The Delphi Sampling Profiler shows that 99.3% of the time is spent in widestring concatenation (@WStrCatN and @WstrCat). Can anyone think of a way to improve widestring concatenation? i don't think Delphi 5 has any kind of string builder. And Format doesn't support Unicode. And to make sure nobody tries to weasel out: pretend you are implementing the interface: IRecordsetToHtml = interface(IUnknown) function RecordsetToHtml(const rs: _Recordset): WideString; end; Update One I thought of using an IXMLDOMDocument, to build up the HTML as xml. But then i realized that the final HTML would be xhtml and not html - a subtle, but important, difference. • Poor LLVM JIT performance

    - by Paul J. Lucas
    I have a legacy C++ application that constructs a tree of C++ objects. I want to use LLVM to call class constructors to create said tree. The generated LLVM code is fairly straight-forward and looks repeated sequences of: ; ... %11 = getelementptr [11 x i8*]* %Value_array1, i64 0, i64 1 %12 = call i8* @T_string_M_new_A_2Pv(i8* %heap, i8* getelementptr inbounds ([10 x i8]* @0, i64 0, i64 0)) %13 = call i8* @T_QueryLoc_M_new_A_2Pv4i(i8* %heap, i8* %12, i32 1, i32 1, i32 4, i32 5) %14 = call i8* @T_GlobalEnvironment_M_getItemFactory_A_Pv(i8* %heap) %15 = call i8* @T_xs_integer_M_new_A_Pvl(i8* %heap, i64 2) %16 = call i8* @T_ItemFactory_M_createInteger_A_3Pv(i8* %heap, i8* %14, i8* %15) %17 = call i8* @T_SingletonIterator_M_new_A_4Pv(i8* %heap, i8* %2, i8* %13, i8* %16) store i8* %17, i8** %11, align 8 ; ... Where each T_ function is a C "thunk" that calls some C++ constructor, e.g.: void* T_string_M_new_A_2Pv( void *v_value ) { string *const value = static_cast<string*>( v_value ); return new string( value ); } The thunks are necessary, of course, because LLVM knows nothing about C++. The T_ functions are added to the ExecutionEngine in use via ExecutionEngine::addGlobalMapping(). When this code is JIT'd, the performance of the JIT'ing itself is very poor. I've generated a call-graph using kcachegrind. I don't understand all the numbers (and this PDF seems not to include commas where it should), but if you look at the left fork, the bottom two ovals, Schedule... is called 16K times and setHeightToAtLeas... is called 37K times. On the right fork, RAGreed... is called 35K times. Those are far too many calls to anything for what's mostly a simple sequence of call LLVM instructions. Something seems horribly wrong. Any ideas on how to improve the performance of the JIT'ing?

  • StringTokenizer split at "<br/>"

    - by AnAmuser
    Maybe I am stupid but I don't understand why the behaviour of StringTokenizer here: import static org.apache.commons.lang.StringEscapeUtils.escapeHtml; String object = (String) value; String escaped = escapeHtml(object); StringTokenizer tokenizer = new StringTokenizer(escaped, escapeHtml("<br/>")); If fx. value is Hej<br/>$user.get(0).name Har vundet<br/><table border='1'><tr><th>Name</th><th>Played</th><th>Brewed</th></tr>#foreach( $u in $user )<tr><td>$u.name</td> <td>$u.played</td> <td>$u.brewed</td></tr>#end</table><br/> Then the result is Hej $use . e (0).name Ha vunde a e o de ='1' h Name h h P ayed h h B ewed h #fo each( $u in $use ) d $u.name d d $u.p ayed d d $u. ewed d #end a e It makes no sense to me. How can I make it behave as I expect to.

  • AppEngine JDO-QL : Problem with multiple AND and OR in query

    - by KlasE
    Hi, I'm working with App Engine(Java/JDO) and are trying to do some querying with lists. So I have the following class: @PersistenceCapable(identityType = IdentityType.APPLICATION, detachable="true") public class MyEntity { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) Key key; @Persistent List<String> tags = new ArrayList<String>(); @Persistent String otherVar; } The following JDO-QL works for me: ( tags.contains('a') || tags.contains('b') || tags.contains('c') || tags.contains('d') ) && otherVar > 'a' && otherVar < 'z' This seem to return all results where tags has one or more strings with one or more of the given values and together with the inequality search on otherVar But the following do not work: (tags.contains('a') || tags.contains('_a')) && (tags.contains('b') || tags.contains('_b')) && otherVar > 'a' && otherVar < 'z' In this case I want all hits where there is at least one a (either a or _a) and one b (either b or _b) together with the inequality search as before. But the problem is that I also get back the results where there is a but no b, which is not what I want. Maybe I have missed something obvious, or done a coding error, or possibly there is a restriction on how you can write these queries in appengine, so any tips or help would be very welcome. Regards Klas
