  Hi everybody! i m a new programmer in .Net Profiler and Visual C++, i read many forums and weblogs for .Net Profiling and i have this question. my Profiler application must be a unmanaged code or i can use some class in .Net in my application? and what type of project i must create ATL with MFC Or ..? another question is how can i register my profiler dll file that every application of my computer use this profiler? where the best situation for re-write IL of a method (Enter method of profiler or JITCompilationStarted)? how can i get input variables of old method and send to new method? how can i change IL of a property or whole of a class? i want chane all datetime format of my dlls, and i think that i must search name of those method in JITCompilationStarted and then rewrite that methods,Do u have any better solution? thanks alot.

• EJB3.1 Remote invocation - is it distributed automatically? is it expensive?

  I'm building a JEE6 application with performance and scalability in the forefront of my mind. Business logic and JPA2-facade is held in stateless session beans (EJB3.1). As of right now, the SLSBs implement only @Remote-interfaces. When a bean needs to access another bean, it does so via RMI. My reasoning behind this is the assumption that, once the application runs on a bunch of clustered application servers, the RMI-part allows the execution to be distributed across the whole cluster automagically. Is that a correct assumption? I'm fine with dealing with the downsides of that (objects lose entityManager session, pass-by-value), at least I think so. But I am wondering if constant remote invocation isn't adding more load then necessary.

• Migrating shape sql to something equally powerful

  Hi, we are currently investigating a migration of an application that doesn't meet company standards. The application is built using VB6 and Shape SQL/Access. The application has about 120 reports by storing Shape SQL strings in a database which the user can modify using a wizard. Shape sql is not allowed at this company. We have investigated plain SQL, Linq, Entity Framework as alternatives... but all result in more complex solutions. Does anyone have another suggestion?   I'm currently working on a project for a web application that may be installed on several different servers with various software configurations. I want to make my application as flexible as possible by allowing the user to have various SQL servers installed. The problem is the SQL syntax used by any two server vendors does not match up. For a simple example, here is the same SELECT statement for MS SQL and MySQL: MS SQL - SELECT TOP 1 * FROM MyTable ORDER BY DateCreated DESC MySQL - SELECT * FROM MyTable ORDER BY DateCreated DESC LIMIT 1 Are there any standard way to abstract the statement creation for various vendors? Any online resources or books discussing this problem? Any hints or smart-alec remarks that I'd find useful?   I am making an server control application ( simple with some buttons to start/stop the server ) And when the user wants to close the application there will be prompted an confirm box. But when I start the application and close it with the X button or with "Close Window" I will be prompted with the question until I click on no, then it will close. It's a loop and it stops when you first click on yes then on no. Can someone help me with solving this ?

  I have a Windows2k3/IIS6 server but at home i'm using Windows7/IIS7 pc. I just installed VS2010 and trying out the new Web form. After i setup a application in IIS7, I set the Application Pool to ASP.net v4.0 Classic thinking this is the correct setting to simulate IIS6 but when I browse to the website. I got HTTP Error 404.2 Not found but if i set the application pool settings to ASP.net v4.0 then everything run fine. Does anyone know how to simulate IIS6 with ASP.net 4 on Windows7/IIS7/ASP.net 4?

  I'm working on a Java EE application, primarily JAX-RS with a JSF admin console, that uses CDI/Weld for dependency injection with @ApplicationScoped objects. Minor debugging issues aside, CDI has worked beautifully for this project. Now I need some very coarse-grained control over CDI-injected object lifecycles. I need the ability to: Remove an injected object from the application context, or Destroy/delete/clear/reset/remove the entire application context, or Define my own @ScopeType and implementing Context in which I could provide methods to perform one of the two above tasks. I'm fully aware that this is across, if not against, the grain of CDI and dependency injection in general. I just want to know Is this remotely possible? If yes, what is the easiest/simplest/quickest/foolproofiest way to get the job done?

I have developped an application but when I want to start it in emulator, it takes about 2 hours to load it, and it's just the O/S! The application isn't started!   I'd like my application to query a csv file from a secure website. I have no experience with web programming so I'd appreciate detailed instructions. Currently I have the user login to the site, manually query the csv, and have my application load the file locally. I'd like to automate this by having the user enter his login information, authenticating him on the website, and querying the data. The application is written in C# .NET.   Hi, I am trying to open OpenOffice documents on a View in RCP. I used for that the OleFram but he is not giving good results and now I am trying to integrate the OOoBean on my application but I can not see how I can do that.   I've been designing an application, based on .NET/Mono framework, which should make an heavy use of the shortest-path in a graph theories and I would like to use a native solution to traverse the nodes of the graph, instead of implementing surrogate solutions which would be hardly maintainable and would massively affect performances. I've found an application which would be perfect for my scope: neo4j. Unfortunately, this application is purely written in Java code and it's not portable to .NET, because of the massive differences between the two architectures. Is anyone out there knows if is it there any port of neo4j or a similar solution for .NET?

• FB.logout not working in IE8

  I've integrated facebook login with my application and I want to logout the user from facebook when he logs out of my application. So I did the following: <a href="<c:url value='/security_logout'/>" onclick="FB.logout();">Logout</a> This works on Firefox and Chrome but doesn't work on IE8. In IE8 the user is logged out of the application but is not logged out of Facebook. Anyone else experiencing this?

  I have an J2EE compliant web application. I use a session based token to append a secondary id to all incoming link generated by my application. To prevent my application against CSRF attack, I validate the secondary id before I allow the user session to work off the subsequent page. Recently, while working with session replication mechanism implementation, I observed that on session failover, the generated secodary id is lost and the user get re directed to the login page/default page. Any suggestions on how I can ensure that the my generated secondary token id is not lost from the replicated session?

  Hi, I'm trying to implement roles in my site. There are several projects in the solution, one of which is a web application. In that web application, I'm trying to use WSAT to create three roles. There are many folders for the application. I've used WSAT to define role based access rules for each folder. However, when I debug and navigate to those pages, they do not redirect to a login and show me the protected page. There are web.config files in each folder. Why would the system not enforce these rules? My web.config file has: I've tested the connections in WSAT and they work. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to find a document manager/repository (WinXP) that can be used from a USB disk. I would like a tool that will allow you to add all documents into a single repository (or a secure file system). Ideally you would login to this portable application to add or retrieve a document and document shouldn't be accessible outside of the application. I have found an application called Benubird Pro (app is portable) that allows you to add files to a single repository, but downsides are that it is not secure and the repository is always stored on the PC and not on the USB disk.   As I have been learning about software development the last 2 years the more I learn, it seems the more gray areas I am running into. One gray area I have issues with right now is trying to decide how many layers an application should have. For example, in a WPF MVVM application what fashion of layering is ok? Is the following too separated? When I mention layering I mean creating a new class library for each layer. Presentation (View) View Model Business Layer Data Access Model Layer Utility Layer Or for a non MVVM application is this too separated? Presenation Business Data Access Model Layer Utility Layer Is acceptable to run layers together and just create folders for each layer? Any coloring of this gray area would be appreciated.

  Hi I tried to override HTTP request header content by using jQuery's AJAX function. It looks like this $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : url, data : data, contentType: "application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=big5", beforeSend: function(xhr) { xhr.setRequestHeader("Accept-Charset","big5"); xhr.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=big5"); }, success: function(rs) { target.html(rs); } }); Content-Type header is default to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8", but it obviously I can't override its value no matter I use 'contentType' or 'beforeSend' approaches. Could anyone adivse me a hint that how do I or can I change the HTTP request's content-type value? thanks a lot. btw, is there any good documentation that I can study JavaScript's XMLHttpRequest's encoding handling?
