  • Email with extra '.com' behind sender email address

    Currently I had a situation where I sent an email to xxx@abc.com.tw, but when I receive mail from xxx@abc.com.tw, it showed as xxx@abc.com.tw.com, with extra '.com' behind the email address, this just happen within this week. Before this, I didn't change any setting, currently I am using Outlook 2010. When I checked the email in webmail, it also showed it as xxx@abc.com.tw.com. It seem that it has nothing to do with Outlook. However, I also tried on Thunderbird 16.0.1, but still the problem is the same. Has anyone experienced this before? Is the problem caused by the sender or receiver?   • Does .net calling COM which in turn calls other .net COM object works when using SxS and manifest fi

    I have a .net application calling to a COM component (C++) which in turn calls to another COM object implemented in .NET. This application is using Windows SxS capabilities and does not register any of it's COM components. Not the one written in C++, and not the one written in .net. This first call to the C++ COM component works fine. But when the C++ COM component calls to the .net one, it fails with class not registered. I have tried creating a small C++ app with a manifest file which calls the .net component and it works. It seems that when the flow is .net - COM NATIVE - .NET COM. Then SxS breaks and does not work. When looking at Fusion Logs (assembly loading logs) I see that no one is even attempting to resolve the .NET COM assembly. Is this SxS scenario even supposed to work (I think it does supposed to work)? If yes, then what can I be doing wrong ?

  • The difference between traditional DLL and COM DLL.

    I am currently studying COM. I found that COM DLL is kind of built upon the traditional DLL infrastructure. When we build COM DLLs, we still rely on the traditional DLL export methods to lead us to the internal COM co-classes. If COM is for component reusing at the binary level, I think the traditional DLL can achieve the same thing. They both expose functions, they are both binary, so what's the point of turning to COM approach? Currently, I have the feeling that the traditional DLL expose methods in a "flat" manner, while the COM DLL expose methods in an "OOP" hierarchy manner. And the OOP manner seems to be a better approach. Could this be the reason why COM prevails? Many thanks.

    Hello, I have a site at blog.foobar.com that I have closed down, and I want any page requested there to be forwarded to www.foobar.com I want my VirtualHost config to do this for me. I currently have the following lines that does nearly what I want but not exactly: redirect permanent / http://www.foobar.com Unfortunately what happens is that if I ask for blog.foobar.com instead of forwarding to www.foobar.com it serves the pages on blog.foobar.com instead. Is there a way doing this in the VirtualHost config or should I use a .htaccess file instead? Regards Steve

  • Outlook 2010 hung on updating outlook.com email account

    For the past week, through restarts of Outlook, and even a bounce of my machine, Outlook has been hung synchronizing my outlook.com account, after having moved messages from a different email inbox into the outlook.com inbox. The old account does not have the moved message any more (those synched-out correctly). The new account does not have the moved messages when acessing via the webui - ie, they are stuck in just Outlook. My problem? I need to reimage this laptop for a friend I need Outlook to finish syncing all those messages out to the hosted email How can I force this to happen?

    I just setup Outlook.com to run on a custom domain. The web interface works well but when I connect it to Outlook 2013 I get the following error: There are too many devices syncing with this account. To sync using Outlook, try removing another device that is connected with this account such as a phone or another computer. Error Code: 0x80004005 I've done my home work, using Google, and found that it is often due to having 3 or 4 devices connected to an account with 50+ folders.   • Question about registering COM server and Add Reference to it in a C# project

    I build a COM server in raw C++, here is the procedure: (1) write an IDL file to define the interface and library. (2) use msidl.exe to compile the IDL file to necessary .h, .c, .tlb files. (3) implement the COM server in C++ and build a .dll file. (6) In the COM tab, I saw my "Car Server Type Lib", it's ok until now. I try to use the Object Browser to browse my COM lib, but the Visual Studio said "the following components could not be browsed", and I noticed that there's no new reference added to the list in the C# project Reference. I can use the tlbimp.exe to generate a interop.CarCom.dll, and then use the COM through this interop dll, but I want this interop assembly to be generated automatically when I just add reference to the COM.   • Removing malware of a particular kind

    I need to remove some malware from my computer. It is a trojan, and very annoying. It blocks access to Google and search sites. The trojan, with its name spelled out on each line cause it seems to block sites when i reference it in a url, is a r t (some text to mess it up) e m (more text i s First off, what is it, what does it do? Second, why can't I access google or yahoo or any other search sites at all? Third, can it be removed via McAffee? It says it quarantined it when I scanned I found a suspicious process "c"s"r"s"s".exe and it will not let me terminate it, and this is what Mcaffee says it is. Why on earth isn't Mcaffee getting rid of it? I even blocked internet access for this program. Thanks so much, I get kinda freaked out with things like this...   • HTMLUNIT Facebook javascript warning

    Hi I am trying to create simple application that would be able to search people on facebook using given e-mail. I am already able to log into an account using the HTMLunit tool and even create a page, which should throw result of my search. But when I try to print the result as XML the file is missing some blocks of javascript results (I can tell that they are missing by comparing file created by my application and source code, that can be viewed by using IE) Is there any way around this? I just need to get the same result IE's showsource function does. Thanks a lot.     Hello everyone :) I'm very new to anything involving Component Object Model, and I'm wondering if this method of managing calls to CoInitalize/CoUninitalize makes sense: COM.hpp: #pragma once namespace WindowsAPI { namespace ComponentObjectModel { class COM { COM(); ~COM(); public: static void Setup(); }; }} COM.cpp: #include <Windows.h> #include "COM.hpp" namespace WindowsAPI { namespace ComponentObjectModel { COM::COM() { if (CoInitializeEx(NULL, COINIT_APARTMENTTHREADED) != S_OK) throw std::runtime_error("Couldn't start COM!"); } COM::~COM() { CoUninitialize(); } void COM::Setup() { static COM instance; } }} Then any component that needs COM just calls COM::Setup() and forgets about it.     One of our apps has a COM interface which will launch a dialog, e.g: STDMETHODIMP CSomeClass::LaunchDialog(BSTR TextToDisplay) { CDialog *pDlg = new CSomeDialog(TextToDisplay); pDlg->BringWindowToTop(); } For some reason when the COM method is called several times at once by the server, we get odd behaviour: We get multiple dialogs, but only one entry in the taskbar Dialog Z-order is based on order created and can't be changed... the first dialog created is always shown under the 2nd one, 2nd under 3rd, etc, even when you drag them around if N dialogs were created, closing one of them closes it and all the others created afterwards. e.g if 5 dialogsa re created and you close the 3rd one, #3,#4,#5 all get closed. It's somehow like the dialogs are siblings but I don't see anything weird going on. Is it perhaps due to COM, or is this a weird MFC/Win32 issue?

    I have a question about redirecting a subdomain of a blog hosted on Wordpress.com to an external URL. Given the following: 1) I own a domain name foobar.com purchased from another registrar (not from Wordpress.com). 2) I have purchased the Custom Domain option on Wordpress.com, and have completed the configuration to make foobar.com resolve to foobar.wordpress.com. 3) I will establish an external site for a store, such as store.yahoo.com/foobar. 4) I want to redirect the subdomain store.foobar.com to store.yahoo.com/foobar. How do I set up the Custom DNS records within Wordpress.com to accomplish this subdomain redirection, while leaving foobar.com pointed to my Wordpress blog? I suspect that the CNAME directive is involved, but I cannot figure out the required syntax. Thanks... JGB

  • Activate a (COM Interop based) ActiveX contol using registration free com

    I have a (COM Interop based) ActiveX contol that I am trying to use with registration free com. When the control loads the control is inactive (does not responds to events, control not fully rendered etc). After much search I discovered that COM objects using reg-free-com use the miscStatus attribute to set the initial state to get correctly activated. I know how to use it with a comClass which corresponds to a native COM Object. 1) What is the equivalent of the following for clrClass element which corresponds to a COM-interop object? <comClass clsid="{qqqqqqqq-wwww-eeee-rrrr-00C0F0283628}" tlbid="{xxxxxxxx-yyyy-zzzz-aaaa-0000F8754DA1}" threadingModel="Both" progid="SomeCompany.SomeOleControl" description="Some ActiveX Control" miscStatus="recomposeonresize,insideout,activatewhenvisible,nouiactivate" > 2) The COM client I am using is Visual FoxPro. If the (1) is not possible what can I do in VFP to activate the inactive ActiveX control. (I dont mind VB or C# input too if I can use it to find the equivalent foxpro) Currently I tried the following this.AddObject('OleControl1', 'oleControl', 'SomeCompany.SomeOleControl') this.OleControl1.AutoActivate = 3 this.OleControl1.Visible = .T. this.OleControl1.SetFocus But I the OleControl1 gets focus before passing events like mouse click to its subelements.   • Locally redirect Domain1.com to Domain2.com/subdir on one computer

    I am running a FreeBSD server and I want to redirect a specific website domain to another domain including subdirectory. I want to bypass that domain to alter the XML results it returns. I tried the hosts file solution, but that way I can only redirect to an IP address without subdir. So that's no solution. Is there another way to solve this? Installing something on the server if needed is not a problem. Unless it's a heavy program.
