  • Grep-ing gzipped files [duplicate]

    This question already has an answer here: Grepping through .gz log files 5 answers I have a set of 100 log files, compressed using gzip. I need to find all lines matching a given expression. I'd use grep, but of course, that's a bit of a nightmare because I'll have to unzip all files, one by one, grep them and delete the unzipped version, because they wouldn't all fit on my sevrer if they were all unzipped. Anyone has a little trick on how to get that done quickly?

    Hi, I wrote a stateless EJB method allowing to get an entity in "read-only" mode. The way to do this is to get the entity with the EntityManager then detach it (using the JPA 2.0 EntityManager). My code is the following: @PersistenceContext private EntityManager entityManager; public T getEntity(int entityId, Class<T> specificClass, boolean readOnly) throws Exception{ try{ T entity = (T)entityManager.find(specificClass, entityId); if (readOnly){ entityManager.detach(entity); } return entity; }catch (Exception e){ logger.error("", e); throw e; } } Getting the entity works fine, but the call to the detach method returns the following error: GRAVE: javax.ejb.EJBException at ... Caused by: java.lang.AbstractMethodError: org.hibernate.ejb.EntityManagerImpl.detach(Ljava/lang/Object;)V at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.EntityManagerWrapper.detach(EntityManagerWrapper.java:973) at com.mycomp.dal.MyEJB.getEntity(MyEJB.java:37) I can't get more information and don't understand what the problem is...     I'm getting a FormatException telling me the address '[email protected]' is invalid (I'm guessing because of the '-').     I'm going to start building some automated tests of our presentation soon. It seems that everyone recommends WatiN and Selenium. Which do you prefer for automated testing of ASP.NET web forms? Why did that product work better for you? As a side note, I noticed that WatiN 2.0 has been in CTP since March 2008, is that something to be concerned about?

  • Linq to Entities : using ToLower() on NText fields

    I'm using SQL Server 2005, with a case sensitive database.. In a search function, I need to create a Linq To Entities (L2E) query with a "where" clause that compare several strings with the data in the database with these rules : The comparison is a "Contains" mode, not strict compare : easy as the string's Contains() method is allowed in L2E The comparison must be case insensitive : I use ToLower() on both elements to perform an insensitive comparison. All of this performs really well but I ran into the following Exception : "Argument data type ntext is invalid for argument 1 of lower function" on one of my fields. It seems that the field is a NText field and I can't perform a ToLower() on that. What could I do to be able to perform a case insensitive Contains() on that NText field ?

    Hi ! I have a gridview and I need to sort its elements when the user clicks on the header. Its datasource is a List object.     I'm using the following mapping: public class LoadMap : IAutoMappingOverride<Load> { public void Override(AutoMapping<Load> mapping) { mapping.HasMany(x => x.Bids).OptimisticLock.None(); mapping.Version(x => x.Version); } } But when I try to create the session I get the following exception: [FormatException: The string 'none' is not a valid Boolean value.] [XmlSchemaValidationException: The 'optimistic-lock' attribute is invalid - The value 'none' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:boolean' - The string 'none' is not a valid Boolean value.] I'm using NHibernate 2.1.2.4000 and I was using Fluent NHibernate 1.0RTM, but tried the latest build 636 just to be sure this isn't something that was fixed recently or something. As a side note, in case I'm doing this all wrong, I would like to be able to make changes to the .Bids list without incrementing Version. I saw an example on Ayende's blog that did what I wanted with properties.

    I'm using jQuery to POST an Id to my route, for example: http://localhost:1234/Load/Delete with a POST Parameter Id = 1 I'm only using the default route in Global.asax.cs right now: routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); When I perform the POST, in my ActionFilter filterContext.RouteData.Values["Id"] is set to the default value of "". Ideally, I'd like it to use the POST Parameter value automatically if the URL comes up with "". I know it is posting properly because I can see the value of "1" in filterContext.HttpContext.Request.Params["Id"]. Is there a way to get RouteData to use a POST parameter as a fall back value?
