Hey guys, I'm solving one task and I need to create a piece of CSS what would apply only in Safari, NOT the other WebKit browser (mustn't apply in Chrome, f.e.). Please, could anyone toss in some ideas?
I have following HTML+CSS markup:
<div id="protofade" style="position: relative;">
<div style="position: absolute;"><img src="slide-01.jpg"></div>
<div style="position: absolute;"><img src="slide-02.jpg"></div>
<div style="position: absolute;"><img src="slide-03.jpg"></div>
</div>
Notice that the slides are absolute-positioned inside a relative-positioned element so that the top-left corners of all slides are aligned together. All slides are equal height, but the height is not pre-determined hence this problem: the "protofade" div does not have a height. Is there any CSS trick that can make this div as tall as the first slide without explicitly specifying height: NNpx.
i have to fix the header in a gridview and i use this in style Class
<style type="text/css">
.gridFixedHeader
{
background-color:white;
position:relative;
top:expression(GridView1.offsetParent.scrollTop-2);
}
</style>
but i get an error that expression(GridView1.offsetParent.scrollTop-2);is not valid...
what all do i need to do to make this work.....
any suggestions
I would like to use the following to target the last link (a) of the last ul inside my div. So this is what came to mind:
#menu ul:last-child li a {
/*.....*/
}
I cant manually add a class to that element, and even if i wanted to do it dynamically i would still have to target the element the above way.
Any ideas why this is not working?
Thanks!
Hallo all.
I need a tool similar to firebug with ie6 to edit css live.
I tried to use ie developer toolbar but in ie6 seems not to let you edit the DOM as wanted.
Is there any tool around?
Kind regards

I have a paragraph of text:
<p>Lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum lorem ipsum</p>
How can I make sure that no more than 30 characters are shown on one line with CSS?
Hello, i can't find a way to do multiple row tabs with ASP.net ajax tab control. I also can't find a tutorial or example on using CSS to make multiple row of tabs.

There's tons of documentation out there on how to override the appearance of Drupal modules, but I keep finding the docs for writing the original theme to be a little lacking. On this note, how can I tell Drupal to use a specific CSS file for my custom module's block output?
In my HTML document, I have a table with two columns and multiple rows. How can I increase the space in between the first and second column with css? I've tried applying "margin-right: 10px;" to each of the cells on the left hand side, but to no effect.
I have set up a list using this css...
#navlist li
{
list-style-type: none;
padding: 7px;
float: left;
}
I have shown the page using jquery ui with other div containers...
the page here
the page named friend.jsp?all=true
Im using a clearing div...
.clear {
clear:left;
overflow:hidden;
height:1px;
}
Now when i use a clearing div i get the page like this...
the clearing div is clearing up to the end of the page...
but on the 1st tab, that is on the freinds tab,
when i m not using a clearing div i get the tab pane with no height...
Any help with setting up a css for ui tabs
or with setting up the list without float:left
thanks

Are there any tools out there that can look at my website HTML and tell me that (for example) "there is an HTML element at mysite.com/example.html using a class of SOMECLASS but SOMECLASS is not defined in any included CSS files".
?
Hello,
I am trying to make a dropdown menu with pure html and css, but the submenus disappear when the cursor leaves the parent li, thus preventing me from clicking on the submenu. Here is a link to the test site, link text
I would really appreciate some help.

Safari on the iPhone renders my {position: relative; top: 80px;} div 1px too low (all other browsers work fine) - is there any way to fix this via conditional css?
As my CSS and HTML skills are somewhat limited can anyone advise if the code below can be refactored without so many div tags?
<div style="border: 1px solid #D0D2D1">
<div style="border: 8px solid #F6F4F5">
<div style="padding: 0.5em">
Content Here
</div>
</div>
</div>
I created my own custom date picker consisting of an ASP TextBox, Button, and Calendar complete with CSS styles, javascript code, and event handling vb code.
I want to use this date picker multiple times on my form. I know the wrong way to do this would be to copy all the code and just adjust each name accordingly.
How can I put those controls, styles, and code into a single entity?

So if you look at the tabs and look at hw2, you'll notice it has a little extra spacing that overlaps the spacing on the right. That's because wrapped the div in the <li>. You will notice the others not having it. I don't understand why is it making that extra little spacing after I wrap it.
Just for the record, this is for CSS spacing which has nothing to do with the JS.
Hi,
This website http://www.elkaniho.com/ has a CSS layout which is what i want, you see, the divs stack on top of each other, not on a precise grid, but just at the bottom and on the side.
And when you re-size the browser, they all re-adjust perfectly?
anyone know how i can get the same layout like at elkaniho.com or what type of layout this is called?
In CSS, is there a standard way to colorize or apply a tint to a grayscale image?
I would like to create a grayscale image to show focus over an element, and allow the color of the focus to be configurable by colorizing the grayscale image.
Thanks
