  • How do C and C++ interpreters bind identifiers to functions

    - by sub
    I'm talking about C and/or C++ here as this are the only languages I know used for interpreters where the following could be a problem: If we have an interpreted language X how can a library written for it add functions to the language which can then be called from within programs written in the language? PHP example: substr( $str, 5, 10 ); How is the function substr added to the "function pool" of PHP so it can be called from within scripts? It is easy for PHP storing all registered function names in an array and searching through it as a function is called in a script. However, as there obviously is no eval in C(++), how can the function then be called? I assume PHP doesn't have 100MB of code like: if( identifier == "substr" ) { return PHP_SUBSTR(...); } else if( ... ) { ... } Ha ha, that would be pretty funny. I hope you have understood my question so far. How do C/C++ interpreters solve this problem? How can I solve this for my own experimental toy interpreter?

  • JavaScript functions in footer

    - by Djave
    I'm currently using html5 boilerplate, which puts jQuery and your plugins into the footer. The only problem is, I use the same footer.php file in every page. How do I go about including page specific functions if the plugins aren't loaded yet? I.e. <?php include_layout_template('header.php', '../');?> <div id='mediaspace'>This text will be replaced</div> <!-- Video for this page: --> <script type='text/javascript'> jwplayer('mediaspace').setup({ 'flashplayer': '../resources/player.swf', 'file': 'http://content.longtailvideo.com/videos/flvplayer.flv', 'controlbar': 'bottom', 'width': '470', 'height': '320' }); </script> <?php //This file has the jwplayer function in it: include_layout_template('footer.php', '../'); ?> Doing this I get Uncaught ReferenceError: jwplayer is not defined Is it going to be easier to just put the plugin includes in the header? How do people usually tackle stuff like this in boilerplate/loading scripts at the end?

  • Python parsing error message functions

    - by user1716168
    The code below was created by me with the help of many SO veterans: The code takes an entered math expression and splits it into operators and operands for later use. I have created two functions, the parsing function that splits, and the error function. I am having problems with the error function because it won't display my error messages and I feel the function is being ignored when the code runs. An error should print if an expression such as this is entered: 3//3+4,etc. where there are two operators together, or there are more than two operators in the expression overall, but the error messages dont print. My code is below: def errors(): numExtrapolation,opExtrapolation=parse(expression) if (len(numExtrapolation) == 3) and (len(opExtrapolation) !=2): print("Bad1") if (len(numExtrapolation) ==2) and (len(opExtrapolation) !=1): print("Bad2") def parse(expression): operators= set("*/+-") opExtrapolate= [] numExtrapolate= [] buff=[] for i in expression: if i in operators: numExtrapolate.append(''.join(buff)) buff= [] opExtrapolate.append(i) opExtrapolation=opExtrapolate else: buff.append(i) numExtrapolate.append(''.join(buff)) numExtrapolation=numExtrapolate #just some debugging print statements print(numExtrapolation) print("z:", len(opExtrapolation)) return numExtrapolation, opExtrapolation errors() Any help would be appreciated. Please don't introduce new code that is any more advanced than the code already here. I am looking for a solution to my problem... not large new code segments. Thanks.

  • Passing System classes as constructor parameters

    - by mcl
    This is probably crazy. I want to take the idea of Dependency Injection to extremes. I have isolated all System.IO-related behavior into a single class so that I can mock that class in my other classes and thereby relieve my larger suite of unit tests of the burden of worrying about the actual file system. But the File IO class I end up with can only be tested with integration tests, which-- of course-- introduces complexity I don't really want to deal with when all I really want to do is make sure my FileIO class calls the correct System.IO stuff. I don't need to integration test System.IO. My FileIO class is doing more than simply wrapping System.IO functions, every now and then it does contain some logic (maybe this is the problem?). So what I'd like is to be able to test my File IO class to ensure that it makes the correct system calls by mocking the System.IO classes themselves. Ideally this would be as easy as having a constructor like so: public FileIO( System.IO.Directory directory, System.IO.File file, System.IO.FileStream fileStream ) { this.Directory = directory; this.File = file; this.FileStream = fileStream; } And then calling in methods like: public GetFilesInFolder(string folderPath) { return this.Directory.GetFiles(folderPath) } But this doesn't fly since the System.IO classes in question are static classes. As far as I can tell they can neither be instantiated in this way or subclassed for the purposes of mocking.

  • Problems with Window Functions Wndproc and about

    I really having problems with this problem ,it would be nice if someone help me on this. Every time I try to build my source file the same errors occur every time for the two window functions CALLBACK Wndproc and CALLBACK About. error: "local function definitions are illegal" Can you tell me what mistake I made? • PHP checking/refreashing functions

    - by user1284360
    ok i have a main document that displays a chatbox, what i want is for the chatbox to refreash on everyone who is logged in's screen whenever someone posts a new message... ive tried many methods including sleep timers and new functions that call then sleep and get recalled but this just generates an endless line of the same or little diffrent data making the form unusable until error... this is my code <?php // set error reporting level if (version_compare(phpversion(), "5.3.0", ">=") == 1) error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_DEPRECATED); else error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE); require_once('inc/login.inc.php'); require_once('inc/chat.inc.php'); // initialization of login system and generation code $oSimpleLoginSystem = new SimpleLoginSystem(); $oSimpleChat = new SimpleChat(); // draw login box echo $oSimpleLoginSystem->getLoginBox(); // draw chat application $sChatResult = '<font color="0x99000"> <a href="Register_form.html">New Account</a><br> login to send a message<br> or register for a new account</font>'; if ($_COOKIE['member_name'] && $_COOKIE['member_pass']) { if ($oSimpleLoginSystem->check_login($_COOKIE['member_name'], $_COOKIE['member_pass'])) { $sChatResult = ""; if($oSimpleLoginSystem->check_privledges($_COOKIE['member_name']) >= 2) { $sChatResult .= "<br>privledge check Working<br>"; } $sChatResult .= "<form action=$_SERVER[PHP_SELF] method='post'> <input type='hidden' name='foo' value='<?= $foo ?>' /> <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Refresh Messages' /> </form>"; $sChatResult .= $oSimpleChat->acceptMessages(); $sChatResult .= "<br><br>"; $sChatResult .= $oSimpleChat->getMessages(); } } echo $sChatResult; ?>

  • Calling Multiple functions simultaneously

    - by Noob
    I'm trying to call two different functions for two different HTML elements at the same time, but the second function isn't being read at all. I'm also trying to use the id to specify which corresponding elements to grab data from. Here's what I have: function changeImage(id) { var s = document.getElementById('showcase'); var simg = s.getElementsByTagName('img'); var slen = simg.length; for(i=0; i < slen; i++) { simg[i].style.display = 'none'; } $('#' + id).fadeIn('slow', 0); function createComment(jim) { //alert('hello?'); var d = document.getElementById('description'); var dh = document.getElementsByTagName('p'); var dlen = dh.length; //alert(dh); for(i=0; i < dlen; i++) { alert(dh); dh[i].style.display = 'none'; } $('#' + jim).fadeIn('slow', 0); }

  • How to override jquery's show() and hide() functions

    - by Max Williams
    hi all Short version of question: see title Long version of question: I've used jquery's show() and hide() functions extensively in my code and just encountered a bit of a problem: they work by changing the display attribute of the element to 'block' or 'none' respectively, so that if you have somethin that has display: inline and then hide and show it, you've changed its display to block, which screws up the layout in a couple of cases. In my code, whenever i want something to be hidden initially i give it a class 'hidden'. This class is simply {display: none}. I'd like the change show and hide to remove or add this class, instead of directly changing the display attribute, so that if you add the hidden class and then remove it again (ie hide and show something) then it's back to exactly how it was to start off with (since adding a class overrides the attributes rather than directly changing them). Something like this (this is a little pseucodey as i don't know how to set the function up properly - let's assume that 'this' is the object that show/hide was called on) function show(){ this.removeClass("hidden"); } function hide(){ this.addClass("hidden"); } how and where would i go about overriding the jquery methods? (I'm not a javascript expert) thanks - max

  • What are the linkage of the following functions?

    - by Derui Si
    When I was reading the c++ 03 standard (7.1.1 Storage class specifiers [dcl.stc]), there are some examples as below, I'm not able to tell how the linkage of each successive declarations is determined? Could anyone help here? Thanks in advance! static char* f(); // f() has internal linkage char* f() { /* ... */ } // f() still has internal linkage char* g(); // g() has external linkage static char* g() { /* ... */ } // error: inconsistent linkage void h(); inline void h(); // external linkage inline void l(); void l(); // external linkage inline void m(); extern void m(); // external linkage static void n(); inline void n(); // internal linkage static int a; // a has internal linkage int a; // error: two definitions static int b; // b has internal linkage extern int b; // b still has internal linkage int c; // c has external linkage static int c; // error: inconsistent linkage extern int d; // d has external linkage static int d; // error: inconsistent linkage UPD: Additionally, how can I understand the statement in the standard, " The linkages implied by successive declarations for a given entity shall agree. That is, within a given scope, each declaration declaring the same object name or the same overloading of a function name shall imply the same linkage. Each function in a given set of overloaded functions can have a different linkage, however."

  • PHP PDO Parameters from a function returned array

    - by noko
    I've got a function written that runs a query based on parameters passed to the function. I can't seem to figure out why doing the following returns a result: function test($function_returned_array) { $variable = 'Hello World'; $sql = 'SELECT `name`, `pid` FROM `products` WHERE `name` IN (?)'; $found = $this->db->get_array($sql, $variable); } While this doesn't return any results: function test2($function_returned_array) { $sql = 'SELECT `name`, `pid` FROM `products` WHERE `name` IN (?)'; $found = $this->db->get_array($sql, $function_returned_array[0]); } $function_returned_array[0] is also equal to 'Hello World'. Shouldn't they both return the same results? When I echo the values of $variable and $function_returned_array[0], they are both 'Hello World' Here's the relevant parts of my PDO wrapper: public function query(&$query, $params) { $sth = $this->_db->prepare($query); if(is_null($params)) { $sth->execute(); } else if(is_array($params)) { $sth->execute($params); } else { $sth->execute(array($params)); } $this->_rows = $sth->rowCount(); $this->_counter++; return $sth; } public function get_array(&$query, $params, $style = PDO::FETCH_ASSOC) { $q = $this->query($query, $params); return $q->fetchAll($style); } I'm using PHP 5.3.5. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Javascript object properties access functions in parent constructor?

    - by Bob Spryn
    So I'm using this pretty standard jquery plugin pattern whereby you can grab an api after applying the jquery function to a specific instance. This API is essentially a javascript object with a bunch of methods and data. So I wanted to essentially create some private internal methods for the object only to manipulate data etc, which just doesn't need to be available as part of the API. So I tried this: // API returned with new $.TranslationUI(options, container) $.TranslationUI = function (options, container) { // private function? function monkey(){ console.log("blah blah blah"); } // extend the default settings with the options object passed this.settings = $.extend({},$.TranslationUI.defaultSettings,options); // set a reference for the container dom element this.container = container; // call the init function this.init(); }; The problem I'm running into is that init can't call that function "monkey". I'm not understanding the explanation behind why it can't. Is it because init is a prototype method?($.TranslationUI's prototype is extended with a bunch of methods including init elsewhere in the code) $.extend($.TranslationUI, { prototype: { init : function(){ // doesn't work monkey(); // editing flag this.editing = false; // init event delegates here for // languagepicker $(this.settings.languageSelector, this.container).bind("click", {self: this}, this.selectLanguage); } } }); Any explanations would be helpful. Would love other thoughts on creating private methods with this model too. These particular functions don't HAVE to be in prototype, and I don't NEED private methods protected from being used externally, but I want to know how should I have that requirement in the future.

  • A problem of a repeated parameter in the pagination links?

    - by myaccount
    The problem is that when I load page 2 for example the URL becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2 And that's fine but when I get to page 3 it becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2&currentpage=3 And so on, it adds one more currentpage parameter everytime a new page is loaded from the pagination links! I wonder how this problem can be fixed? Here's some of the pagination function's code /****** build the pagination links ******/ // Getting current page URL with its parameters $current_page_url = ($_SERVER["PHP_SELF"].(isset($_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"])?"?".htmlentities($_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"]):"")); // Determine which sign to use (? or &) before the (currentpage=xx) parameter $sign = preg_match('/\?/', $current_page_url) ? '&' : '?'; $pagination_links = ''; // if not on page 1, don't show back links if ($currentpage > 1) { // show << link to go back to page 1 $pagination_links .= " <a href='{$current_page_url}{$sign}currentpage=1'>First page</a> "; // get previous page num $prevpage = $currentpage - 1; // show < link to go back 1 page $pagination_links .= " <a href='{$current_page_url}{$sign}currentpage=$prevpage'>previous</a> "; } else { $pagination_links .= "? ?"; }// end if

  • Using enum values to represent binary operators (or functions)

    - by Bears will eat you
    I'm looking for an elegant way to use values in a Java enum to represent operations or functions. My guess is, since this is Java, there just isn't going to be a nice way to do it, but here goes anyway. My enum looks something like this: public enum Operator { LT, LTEQ, EQEQ, GT, GTEQ, NEQ; ... } where LT means < (less than), LTEQ means <= (less than or equal to), etc - you get the idea. Now I want to actually use these enum values to apply an operator. I know I could do this just using a whole bunch of if-statements, but that's the ugly, OO way, e.g.: int a = ..., b = ...; Operator foo = ...; // one of the enum values if (foo == Operator.LT) { return a < b; } else if (foo == Operator.LTEQ) { return a <= b; } else if ... // etc What I'd like to be able to do is cut out this structure and use some sort of first-class function or even polymorphism, but I'm not really sure how. Something like: int a = ..., b = ...; Operator foo = ...; return foo.apply(a, b); or even int a = ..., b = ...; Operator foo = ...; return a foo.convertToOperator() b; But as far as I've seen, I don't think it's possible to return an operator or function (at least, not without using some 3rd-party library). Any suggestions?

  • EF 4 Query - Issue with Multiple Parameters

    - by Brian
    Hello, A trick to avoiding filtering by nullable parameters in SQL was something like the following: select * from customers where (@CustomerName is null or CustomerName = @CustomerName) This worked well for me in LINQ to SQL: string customerName = "XYZ"; var results = (from c in ctx.Customers where (customerName == null || (customerName != null && c.CustomerName == customerName)) select c); But that above query, when in ADO.NET EF, doesn't work for me; it should filter by customer name because it exists, but it doesn't. Instead, it's querying all the customer records. Now, this is a simplified example, because I have many fields that I'm utilizing this kind of logic with. But it never actually filters, queries all the records, and causes a timeout exception. But the wierd thing is another query does something similarly, with no issues. Any ideas why? Seems like a bug to me, or is there a workaround for this? I've since switched to extension methods which works. Thanks.

  • Pthread - setting scheduler parameters

    - by Andna
    I wanted to use read-writer locks from pthread library in a way, that writers have priority over readers. I read in my man pages that If the Thread Execution Scheduling option is supported, and the threads involved in the lock are executing with the scheduling policies SCHED_FIFO or SCHED_RR, the calling thread shall not acquire the lock if a writer holds the lock or if writers of higher or equal priority are blocked on the lock; otherwise, the calling thread shall acquire the lock. so I wrote small function that sets up thread scheduling options. void thread_set_up(int _thread) { struct sched_param *_param=malloc(sizeof (struct sched_param)); int *c=malloc(sizeof(int)); *c=sched_get_priority_min(SCHED_FIFO)+1; _param->__sched_priority=*c; long *a=malloc(sizeof(long)); *a=syscall(SYS_gettid); int *b=malloc(sizeof(int)); *b=SCHED_FIFO; if (pthread_setschedparam(*a,*b,_param) == -1) { //depending on which thread calls this functions, few thing can happen if (_thread == MAIN_THREAD) client_cleanup(); else if (_thread==ACCEPT_THREAD) { pthread_kill(params.main_thread_id,SIGINT); pthread_exit(NULL); } } } sorry for those a,b,c but I tried to malloc everything, still I get SIGSEGV on the call to pthread_setschedparam, I am wondering why?

  • JS best practice for member functions

    - by MickMalone1983
    I'm writing a little mobile games library, and I'm not sure the best practice for declaring member functions of instantiated function objects. For instance, I might create a simple object with one property, and a method to print it: function Foo(id){ this.id = id; this.print = function(){ console.log(this.id); }; }; However, a function which does not need access to 'private' members of the function does not need to be declared in the function at all. I could equally have written: function print(){ console.log(this.id); }; function Foo(id){ this.id = id; this.print = print; }; When the function is invoked through an instance of Foo, the instance becomes the context for this, so the output is the same in either case. I'm not entirely sure how memory is allocated with JS, and I can't find anything that I can understand about something this specific, but it seems to me that with the first example all members of Foo, including the print function, are duplicated each time it is instantiated - but with the second, it just gets a pointer to one, pre-declared function, which would save any more memory having to be allocated as more instances of Foo are created. Am I correct, and if I am, is there any memory/performance benefit to doing this?

  • Problems Allocating Objects of Derived Class Where Base Class has Abstract Virtual Functions

    - by user1743901
    I am trying to get this Zombie/Human agent based simulation running, but I am having problems with these derived classes (Human and Zombie) who have parent class "Creature". I have 3 virtual functions declared in "Creature" and all three of these are re-declared AND DEFINED in both "Human" and "Zombie". But for some reason when I have my program call "new" to allocate memory for objects of type Human or Zombie, it complains about the virtual functions being abstract. • DynamicQuery: How to select a column with linq query that takes parameters

    - by Richard77
    Hello, We want to set up a directory of all the organizations working with us. They are incredibly diverse (government, embassy, private companies, and organizations depending on them ). So, I've resolved to create 2 tables. Table 1 will treat all the organizations equally, i.e. it'll collect all the basic information (name, address, phone number, etc.). Table 2 will establish the hierarchy among all the organizations. For instance, Program for illiterate adults depends on the National Institute for Social Security which depends on the Labor Ministry. In the Hierarchy table, each column represents a level. So, for the example above, (i)Labor Ministry - Level1(column1), (ii)National Institute for Social Security - Level2(column2), (iii)Program for illiterate adults - Level3(column3). To attach an organization to an hierarchy, the user needs to go level by level(i.e. column by column). So, there will be at least 3 situations: If an adequate hierarchy exists for an organization(for instance, level1: US Embassy), that organization can be added (For instance, level2: USAID).-- US Embassy/USAID, and so on. How about if one or more levels are missing? - then they need to be added How about if the hierarchy need to be modified? -- not every thing need to be modified. I do not have any choice but working by level (i.e. column by column). I does not make sense to have all the levels in one form as the user need to navigate hierarchies to find the right one to attach an organization. Let's say, I have those queries in my repository (just that you get the idea). Query1 var orgHierarchy = (from orgH in db.Hierarchy select orgH.Level1).FirstOrDefault; Query2 var orgHierarchy = (from orgH in db.Hierarchy select orgH.Level2).FirstOrDefault; Query3, Query4, etc. The above queries are the same except for the property queried (level1, level2, level3, etc.) Question: Is there a general way of writing the above queries in one? So that the user can track an hierarchy level by level to attach an organization. In other words, not knowing in advance which column to query, I still need to be able to do so depending on some conditions. For instance, an organization X depends on Y. Knowing that Y is somewhere on the 3rd level, I'll go to the 4th level, linking X to Y. I need to select (not manually) a column with only one query that takes parameters. Thanks for helping

  • Importing Conditionally Compiled Functions From a Perl Module

    - by Robert S. Barnes
    I have a set of logging and debugging functions which I want to use across multiple modules / objects. I'd like to be able to turn them on / off globally using a command line switch. The following code does this, however, I would like to be able to omit the package name and keep everything in a single file. This is related to two previous questions I asked, here and here. #! /usr/bin/perl -w use strict; use Getopt::Long; { package LogFuncs; use threads; use Time::HiRes qw( gettimeofday ); # provide tcpdump style time stamp sub _gf_time { my ( $seconds, $microseconds ) = gettimeofday(); my @time = localtime($seconds); return sprintf( "%02d:%02d:%02d.%06ld", $time[2], $time[1], $time[0], $microseconds ); } sub logerr; sub compile { my %params = @_; *logerr = $params{do_logging} ? sub { my $msg = shift; warn _gf_time() . " Thread " . threads->tid() . ": $msg\n"; } : sub { }; } } { package FooObj; sub new { my $class = shift; bless {}, $class; }; sub foo_work { my $self = shift; # do some foo work LogFuncs::logerr($self); } } { package BarObj; sub new { my $class = shift; my $data = { fooObj => FooObj->new() }; bless $data, $class; } sub bar_work { my $self = shift; $self->{fooObj}->foo_work(); LogFuncs::logerr($self); } } my $do_logging = 0; GetOptions( "do_logging" => \$do_logging, ); LogFuncs::compile(do_logging => $do_logging); my $bar = BarObj->new(); LogFuncs::logerr("Created $bar"); $bar->bar_work();

  • how to pass parameter to a webservice using ksoap2?

    - by user255681
    hi there, i'm using eclipse to develop over android, i'm trying to connect to a .net webservice... when i'm calling a webmethod with no parameters it works fine... but when i come to pass a parameter to the webmethod things turn upside down... the parameter is passed as null (while debugging the webservice i discovered that) and i get a null from the webmethod in the client side code... i've been searching for a solution for a day now and all that i can interpreter is that people keep talking about encoding styles and such stuff.... i've tried it all but in vain. i'm using ksoap2 version 2.3 with the following code package com.examples.hello; import org.ksoap2.SoapEnvelope; import org.ksoap2.serialization.PropertyInfo; import org.ksoap2.serialization.SoapObject; import org.ksoap2.serialization.SoapSerializationEnvelope; import org.ksoap2.transport.HttpTransportSE; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; public class HelloActivity extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ private static final String SOAP_ACTION = "http://Innovation/HRService/stringBs"; private static final String METHOD_NAME = "stringBs"; private static final String NAMESPACE = "http://Innovation/HRService/"; private static final String URL = "http://196.205.5.170/mdl/hrservice.asmx"; TextView tv; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); tv=(TextView)findViewById(R.id.text1); call(); } public void call() { try { SoapObject request = new SoapObject(NAMESPACE, METHOD_NAME); //PropertyInfo PI = new PropertyInfo(); //request.addProperty("a", "myprop"); SoapSerializationEnvelope envelope = new SoapSerializationEnvelope(SoapEnvelope.VER11); envelope.setOutputSoapObject(request); envelope.dotNet=true; envelope.encodingStyle = SoapSerializationEnvelope.XSD; HttpTransportSE androidHttpTransport = new HttpTransportSE(URL); androidHttpTransport.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope); Object result = (Object)envelope.getResponse(); String results = result.toString(); tv.setText( ""+results); } catch (Exception e) { tv.setText(e.getMessage()); } } }

  • More GCC link time issues: undefined reference to main

    - by vikramtheone
    Hi Guys, I'm writing software for a Cortex-A8 processor and I have to write some ARM assembly code to access specific registers. I'm making use of the gnu compilers and related tool chains, these tools are installed on the processor board(Freescale i.MX515) with Ubuntu. I make a connection to it from my host PC(Windows) using WinSCP and the PuTTY terminal. As usual I started with a simple C project having main.c and functions.s. I compile the main.c using GCC, assemble the functions.s using as and link the generated object files using once again GCC, but I get strange errors during this process. An important finding - Meanwhile, I found out that my assembly code may have some issues because when I individually assemble it using the command as -o functions.o functions.s and try running the generated functions.o using ./functions.o command, the bash shell is failing to recognize this file as an executable(on pressing tab functions.o is not getting selected/PuTTY is not highlighting the file). Can anyone suggest whats happening here? Are there any specific options I have to send, to GCC during the linking process? The errors I see are strange and beyond my understanding, I don't understand to what the GCC is referring. I'm pasting here the contents of main.c, functions.s, the Makefile and the list of errors. Help, please!!! • Mocking objects with complex Lambda Expressions as parameters

    - by iCe
    Hi there, I´m encountering this problem trying to mock some objects that receive complex lambda expressions in my projects. Mostly with with proxy objects that receive this type of delegate: Func<Tobj, Fun<TParam1, TParam2, TResult>> I have tried to use Moq as well as RhinoMocks to acomplish mocking those types of objects, however both fail. (Moq fails with NotSupportedException, and in RhinoMocks simpy does not satisgy expectation). This is simplified example of what I´m trying to do: I have a Calculator object that does calculations: public class Calculator { public Calculator() { } public int Add(int x, int y) { var result = x + y; return result; } public int Substract(int x, int y) { var result = x - y; return result; } } I need to validate parameters on every method in the Calculator class, so to keep with the Single Responsability principle, I create a validator class. I wire everything up using a Proxy class, that prevents having duplicate code: public class CalculatorProxy : CalculatorExample.ICalculatorProxy { private ILimitsValidator _validator; public CalculatorProxy(Calculator _calc, ILimitsValidator _validator) { this.Calculator = _calc; this._validator = _validator; } public int Operation(Func&lt;Calculator, Func&lt;int, int, int&gt;&gt; operation, int x, int y) { _validator.ValidateArgs(x, y); var calcMethod = operation(this.Calculator); var result = calcMethod(x, y); _validator.ValidateResult(result); return result; } public Calculator Calculator { get; private set; } } Now, I´m testing a component that does use the CalculatorProxy, so I want to mock it, for example using Rhino Mocks: [TestMethod] public void ParserWorksWithCalcultaroProxy() { var calculatorProxyMock = MockRepository.GenerateMock&lt;ICalculatorProxy&gt;(); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x =&gt; x.Calculator).Return(_calculator); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x =&gt; x.Operation(c =&gt; c.Add, 2, 2)).Return(4); var mathParser = new MathParser(calculatorProxyMock); mathParser.ProcessExpression("2 + 2"); calculatorProxyMock.VerifyAllExpectations(); } However I cannot get it to work! Any ideas about how this can be done? Thanks a lot!

  • Jquery toggle functions

    - by ozsenegal
    I've a code to sort table using Jquery.I use toggle function to alternate clicks,and toggle beetween 'ascend' and 'descend' sort.Once you click header's table it should sort it contents. However,there's a bug: I click once,it sorts,then when i click again,nothing happens.I need to click again (second time) to execute the second function,and sort again. Toggle should switch functions with single clicks,not double,am i right? Here is the code: firstRow.toggle(function() { $(this).find("th:first").removeClass("ascendFirst").addClass("descendFirst"); $(this).find("th:not(first)").removeClass("ascend").addClass("descend"); sorted = $.makeArray($("td:eq(0)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); sorted2 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(1)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); sorted3 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(2)", "tr")).sort().reverse(); for (var i = 0; i < sorted.length; i++) { $("td", "tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").remove(); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted2[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted3[i]).text())); } }, function() { $(this).find("th:first").removeClass("descendFirst").addClass("ascendFirst"); $(this).find("th:not(first)").removeClass("descend").addClass("ascend"); sorted = $.makeArray($("td:eq(0)", "tr")).sort(); sorted2 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(1)", "tr")).sort(); sorted3 = $.makeArray($("td:eq(2)", "tr")).sort(); for (var i = 0; i < sorted.length; i++) { $("td", "tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").remove(); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted2[i]).text())); $("tr:eq(" + (i + 1) + ")").append($("<td></td>").text($(sorted3[i]).text())); } });

  • How to send a array as a parameter to a web service using SOAP and objective C.

    - by Alejandra Meraz
    I'm working in a iPhone app that needs to send a array as a parameter using SOAP. this is the current request and connection: NSString *soapMessage = [NSString stringWithFormat: @"<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?>\n" "<soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:xsd=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema\" xmlns:soap=\"http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/\">\n" "<soap:Body>\n" "<function xmlns=\"http://tempuri.org/\" />\n" "</soap:Body>\n" "</soap:Envelope>\n"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://myHost.com/myWebService/service.asmx"]; //the url to the WSDL NsMutableURLRequest theRequest = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] initWithURL:url]; NSString *msgLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",[soapMessage length]]; [theRequest addValue:@"text/xml; charset=utf-8" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [theRequest addValue:msgLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Lenght"]; [theRequest setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [theRequest addValue:@"myhost.com" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Host"]; [theRequest addValue:@"http://tempuri.org/function" forHTTPHeaderField:@"SOAPAction"]; [theRequest setHTTPBody:[soapMessage dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; Now, to send parameters I looked at the WSDL of the function description for the input is like this: <s:complexType name="ArrayOfDictionaryEntry"> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" name="DictionaryEntry" type="tns:DictionaryEntry" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> <s:complexType name="DictionaryEntry"> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="Key" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="Value" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> <s:element name="functionInput"> <s:complexType /> </s:element> I guess then that I need to make a array of dictionary entries. what I would like to send is something like this [ location => USA, module => DEVELOPMENT] But I'm kind of confused. the array is created outside the SOAP, like an NSArray or inside the SoapMessage? if so... How is it done? and the DictionaryEntry, should I make a class? thanks for your time n.n
