Where could I find good resources and examples for learning how to utilize TCP/IP in c# 2.0? Any suggestions on where to start? I'm pretty new at socket programming.
I'm trying to work with CFNetServices by trying to start up and publish a service asynchronously.
I'm trying to use the example code from here: http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Networking/Conceptual/NSNetServiceProgGuide/Articles/CFNetServices.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/30001276-SW3, but CFNetRegisterWithOptions always fails. (CFNetRegister is deprecated now). When I print out the error struct, it looks like this:
(gdb) p error
$1 = {
domain = 10,
error = -72004
}
Which doesn't seem correct to me. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks!
When you're opening page in IE it downloads lots of files, including CSS, scripts, pictures, SWFs, etc. I need to develop small plugin which will monitor all these URLs and let's say save to file this list.
I need it in Delphi, but any example in any other programming languages will be really appreciated.
From the documentation regarding the android:configChanges='orientation' attribute of the activity tag in the manifest:
Note: Using this attribute should be avoided and used only as a last-resort. Please read Handling Runtime Changes for more information about how to properly handle a restart due to a configuration change.
Why does it say this?
In the case of threads and networking requests via a service API library, a request could be made with a reference to the original Activity, and then an orientation change could occur, leaving the thread pointing to the old Activity.
While this can be fixed, it's tedious and ugly compared to just handling the configuration changes yourself.
Why should it be avoided?
Programming language : VB6
I have a problem to copy region within a picture deteremined by 4 points(p1,p2,p3,p4), and reskew it to a another picture with fixed rectangle (P1,P2,P3,P4), as shown :
thank you so much in advance for your help
Not completely a programming question, but its close enough so here goes:
In Mac OS I'll put user-specific files for my app in ~/Library/Application Data/{MyApp}/ and in *nix I'll put them in ~/.{MyApp}/ - where should I put them for Windows?
I'll be using Ruby's File.expand_path to get to this directory, so if there's a windows equivalent of ~ then that's fine.
(Answers for Windows XP, Vista and 7 would be appreciated if they're not the same)
I am interested in understanding object-oriented programming in a more academic and abstract way than I currently do, and want to know if there are any object-oriented concepts Java and C++ fail to implement.
I realise neither of the languages are "pure" OO, but I am interested in what (if anything) they lack, not what they have extra.
Hi, guys! I have a question about remote control by wi-fi from pc or mobile phone.
I want to control a some robot by wi-fi, but i don't know about any wi-fi DYI modules, anyone have a links to pdf, blogs and others about this question? It's may be such a programming wi-fi protocol and others.
Thanks!
ia have meet following problem
suppose we have sorted array of size 2^k-1 where k is given number we should copy this array into heapsearch array b the elements in odd positions of a go in order into last half of the positions of b positions congruent to 2 modul0 4 go into b's secodn quarter and so on this is not homework and please nobody tag it as homework it is from programming pearls please any ideas
Which is the best programming language to use for creating a screensaver?
I am thinking of creating a screensaver to showcase projects i have done before for self satisfaction.
How should i go about it?
Thanks
I was browsing this thread, which has good recommendation but a bit too general for me.
So, if anyone has a collection of nice game programming feeds,please share them. :)
(both general and specific topics are welcome)
I mostly use Eclipse but have mentionned Netbeans on my cv. Are there any good concise and up-to-date tutorials apart from the official ones that could bring me up to speed on how to use the platform efficiently (shortcuts, debugging, views ...)? This excludes programming tutorials as I don't really need them unless there's a special manipulation involved.
I'd like to test whether particular socket options have been set on an existing socket. Ie, pretty much everything you can see in:
#!/usr/bin/env python
'''See possible TCP socket options'''
import socket
sockettypelist = [x for x in dir(socket) if x.startswith('SO_')]
sockettypelist.sort()
for sockettype in sockettypelist:
print sockettype
Anyone know how I can see the options on existing sockets, ie those created by other processes? Alas nearly all the documentation I read on Python socket programming is about making new sockets.
hi i am new to android programming, can someone please tell me how to get access to the files in a directory , i am using Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() method?
The usual recommendations for a web development and debugging web browser are Firefox/Firebug or Safari/Web Inspector.
But I like Google Chrome, and would like to use this as my primary development browser. What plugins or tools should I get to optimise my web programming experience with Chrome?
I know this is possible in other programming languages. Suppose we have the following arrangement:
- (void) myMethod:(NSString*)variables, ... {
// Handle business here.
}
- (void) anotherMethod:(NSString*)variables, ... {
// We want to pass these variable arguments for handling
[self myMethod:variables, ...]; // Do not pass GO
}
// Start the party:
[self anotherMethod:@"arg1", @"arg2", @"arg3", @"arg4", nil];
What's the trick to get this working in ObjC?
Hi
I am quite new to programming, i have a question please help me. ( this question is java question but i can't remember the syntax but what i write here is mostly it.)

I am looking for a good Tree data structure class. I have come across this package, but since I am relatively new to Python (not programming), I dont know if there are any better ones out there.
I'd like to hear from the Pythonistas on here - do you have a favorite tree script that you regularly use and would recommend?
Actually what I want - simple DB with simple User Interface. Like MS Access, but for web and it can be without Dragn n Drop, but described with markup language.
For example if I want to create list report, then i need to write something like:
<table query="SELECT * from mytable"></table>
It needed for simple data applications. In that kind application no programming logic required. Just working with DB. Changing DB data and showing it.
I want to create a plugin called 'myPlugin'. Which method should I use and what is the difference between these two methods? Please tell me the advantages too. I am from designing background and not much programming knowledge.
var myPlugin = {
myId:"testId",
create:function(){},
destroy:function(){}
}
OR
function myPlugin() {
this.myId = "testId";
this.create = function(){};
this.destroy = function(){};
}
What good IDE would you recommend for C++ (GNU) programming, with support for the wxWidget library and a GUI builder/designer all in one? Can be either for windows or linux.
Hi,
I've realised just how rusty my knowledge of PHP 5 and advanced PHP programming is after completing some questions for a test.
I seriously need to read a book or something.
Any recommendations for PHP 5 books?
I am looking for a formula that will give me all of the Vector2 Points within a certain radius given the center.
Essentially what I am trying to do is change the color of each pixel in a 256 x 256 texture that is within a certain radius from a specific pixel (Using the Unity3d Game Engine). Programming Language doesn't really matter, as I can probably convert it to something I can use.
I'm not particularly knowledgable about programming and I'm trying to figure out how to get a precise value calculated in a C program. I need a constant to the power of negative 7, with 5 significant figures. Any suggestions (keeping in mind I know very little, have never programmed in anything but c and only during required courses that I took years ago at school)?
Thanks!
What is good book for industry level C++ programming?
I am not looking for C++ book for beginners which talk about data types and control structure. I am looking for more advance book.
For example, how to build system application using C++.
Any kind of guidance will be very helpful.
Thank in advance.
